So…Who Was Running the Country?

“The campaign came, and in American public life, I mean — whether it be foreign policy, or domestic policy, often, you kind of shut down when the campaign comes.” — George W. Bush, interview with ITAR-TASS, 2/18/05

boy genius karl rove as usual?
    cheney from his bunker?

  2. Andros says:

Does it come before or after Armaggedon? Or, is too late to make amends?

  3. Laura says:

W needs to get that transmitter (”bulge”) off his back. It’s not helping.

  4. peter says:

Clearly, no one was running things.

Which is why conditions (both domestic and in Iraq) continued to degrade. Granted, things didn’t crumble as fast as they do when Bush is no “shut down”.

  5. Vaughn Hopkins says:

It isn’t really clear yet who is running the country right now. Cheney, most likely, but Rove is also a good bet. Bush? You gotta be kidding!

  6. Brendan says:

    THREE WORDS!!!

    Viva la Resistance!!!

  7. Jason Gooljar says:

The following is being circulated as a plan that someone on the darkside came up with to get to the DNC.

“I advise everyone to hit the site multiple times, “join”, give them $2 (you will then be a member and a donor). Sign up for newsletters with more than one mail account.

They will spend $20 trying to get another $2 out of you, for one thing, and will spend lots of bandwidth filling up the throwaway hotmail email accounts and your junk mail wastebasket, and they will think that their base is growing and they are strong. Plus, you will see first hand what they are putting out.

Next, encourage Dean as much as is humanly possible. Flood him with self-confidence and let him believe his ideas are accepted by the “mainstream Americans”. Don’t let him feel he needs to work to get the ideas out, to get the ideas accepted, let him believe that we are all hungrily lapping it up and want more. Once in a while go to your junk email account and reply very positively to the message and try to push ever leftward.

Like last time, the letdown will come when people actually VOTE and the hype and media push become irrelevant.

    We are the media now!”

if the RNC was subject to such activites?

But then we would be stooping to their level right?
