President Bush’s proposal to revise Social Security to authorize personal investment accounts isn’t likely to gain congressional approval, Republican Rep. Lee Terry said. “I don’t see the votes there,” the four-term congressman and dean of Nebraska’s House delegation said in a Lincoln interview this week.

“If I were an adviser, I’d tell the president to quit talking principles and present a plan. Get a specific plan and start advocating it.”

March 30th, 2005 at 2:01 pmSeems like it would be fairly depressing for bush to get out of bed every day knowing he had to fly off to another out of the way location to once again lie and dissemble and skirt issues. There’s big stuff to deal with and this is how he spends his presidency. I guess we should be grateful that he’s so preoccupied with something so easy to shoot down. He can’t state a plan. His plan is to tear it down. Once he says that he can park Air Force One and enjoy his breakfast. It’ll all be over.
March 31st, 2005 at 12:49 amIt seems as though not many people can zoom in on why we are in such disarray. Well, I have an idea why. And by the way I’ve writen to several media(i.e. progressive media) outlets to give them a piece of my mind. From all my readings and interactions with a great deal of people who know next to nothing of what’s going on…example; While in Walmart about ten days back I asked a woman who appeared to be about…maybe 38 yrs old, ‘How did the election go for you?’ She replied, whispering, ‘People say George Bush is very religious’! Oh my god, are we in trouble or what!? You see, I believe the Neo-connic movement is out to induce chaos, plain and simple. You and I can and probably will spend hours detailing how bad things have gotten… on how to reconcile many/most of their actions; like… cutting veteran’s benefits even in a time of war, on not renewing the federal ban on military style semi-automatic assault weapons, etc. Well, they see the world in a way that most do not. And it’s all kind of based on Oil. We are now in the era of Post Peak-Oil which is their greatest concern, but a bookend, if you will. The belief that the earth has approximately 6 billion inhabitants but that the planet itself can only support 2 billion is that other bookend. They feel that roughly 2/3s must go. This is the bottom line. They are not generating chaos, they are inducing it! To generate denotes chaos as the offspring of the neo-cons themselves. But to induce means chaos shall be the offspring of dissent! This is why we must not attempt micro-manage all of their wrong-doings, to not get in the ring with ‘chaos’ but to generalize, truthfully, the entire dynamic which we understand to be the neo-connic movement. And we must not allow them to put the issue of Post Peak-Oil on the ‘front page’(i.e. before we do!), for if we do all hell might break lose. Just imagine the new commodity to be bought and sold as, ‘what one is willing to do because of the lack of oil’! Holla’!
