The Iraq 9/11 Myth Continues

Bush: “This war reached our shores on September 11, 2001.”

Fact: The bi-partisan 9/11 Commission concluded that there was “no collaborative relationship” between Saddam and al-Qaeda [CNN, 6/17/04]

Fact: The bi-partisan 9/11 Commission found “no credible evidence that Iraq and al-Qaida cooperated on attacks against the United States.” [NewsHour, 6/16/04]

Fact: By invoking 9/11 President Bush is exploiting public confusion about Iraq’s involvement in 9/11. An October 2004 poll found that 75 percent of Bush supporters believe Iraq was providing substantial support to al-Qaida [Program on International Policy Attitudes, 10/21/04]

Iraq = Madrid, Jakarta, Riyadh, etc…….

Course he won’t say he’s the one that made them equal.

I can barely withstand seeing him on TV or hearing him speak, but I force myself. Aside from a very uncomfortable 40 minutes, the most irritating part of his -nothing new- speech was his repetitive reference to 9/11, continuing to subtly connect Iraq and 9/11, blurring the facts to the public.
In the end, his emotional final words did not move me. He should feel guilty that his unwarranted, unnecessary, preemptive war of choice has cost the death of 1750 Americans, countless Iraqi citizens, and severely wounded thousands, but his teary-eyes will not compensate for his enormous ego, his arrogance and his blind, divisive stubbornness.

well here it is all over again… the blind leading the blind. the whole world needs to keep their eye on the ball. where are we in 500 years from now? …. tough question… the only thing i know for sure … is that we all have to refocus. hell… we can shoot a comit out of the sky! but we can’t live on a slive of land… palestine… go figure.

i just hope for humanity to continue as long as possible… is that so bad? so if thats the common goal… where do we go from here?
