Our New Look

Maybe you noticed: ThinkProgress got a makeover.

No major changes — mostly a sharper, simpler interface, more web-friendly colors, and some new java components — although we’ll be debuting a few more new features in the days to come.

Thoughts? Additions? Bugs? Drop us a comment.

It looks great… sleak, fast and attractive. Excellent job.

  2. Darth Filibustrous says:

Glad to see you didn’t screw around with it too much.

  3. priscilla chism says:

looks very good, but strongly recommend the red white and blue color scheme instead of brown. Brown/tan is a dud.

    So there! Priscilla

It’s dynamite, nice job. I have a question for all of the ThinkProgress folks though. Do you people have any idea how many individuals are hitting this site? It would be interesting to know how many people are involved here and how much the hit numbers have grown over a given period of time. Certainly seems that there are lots of new contributirs all the time?

    Thanks

Looks Nice. Noticed it last nte while TP was Disecting GW’s “Speech”.

  6. Russ Ruszkowski says:

Good job. Can you post somewhere the HTML tags that you allow in the comments? Here here Darth – don’t mess with a winning formula!

  7. Jim says:

I like it. Looks 100% better.

  8. Gary Kleppe says:

What Java components did you add? I don’t see any applets on the page.

  9. Flamethrower says:

    only evil liberuls change interfaces!!!!

  10. Think Progress says:

Gary — new applets are on the right hand column, and in the “extended entry” posts.

  11. petey hornemann says:

the “what we’re about” columns features are printed in a light grey color that is difficult to read. consider using a bolder, darker color.

  12. Preston says:

    It’s a little techno…

    I think it’s very pretty. But doesn’t that make you a flip-flopper?

  15. Jim Randell says:

    BIG BIG BIG Improvement!!!

  16. BlueJersey says:

I like the new format much better :-)

  17. Phil S says:

Great looking site; and great work last nite!!!
    Thanks.

  18. David B says:

Very professional, sharp finish, even easier to read. Keep up the good work.

  19. Skid says:

Topic tags/tabs double up sometimes… could be my comp. though (last leg)

  20. Gary Kleppe says:

Gary — new applets are on the right hand column, and in the “extended entry” posts.

Oh. Those are scripts, not applets. Don’t mind me, I’m being anal. :)

  21. Big Al says:

I like the new color scheme. It is easy on the eye.

  22. Markansas says:

Nice. The color scheme is easier to look at, and you fixed some of the weird little css bugs. I like it.

  23. Decklin Foster says:

That font (on the titlelogotypeamabob) is fantastic. Who was it designed by?

  24. Zookeeper says:

It was very good before, but I like it even more now. Easy to read and navigate, super cool look. Thanks!

  25. Doogey Howzer says:

Don’t lile the brown/town colored graphic at the top — I liked the old one better. The colors are too similar to the Kos blog…

  26. kindness says:

    NO ADS!

I don’t know how you can afford not to do ads but i appreciate it. Thanx.

  27. Fred says:

I like it very much. Quite a bit cleaner

  28. Ben says:

    One word: width

More words: I am realy, really, really tired of sites that restrict their display width to something less than the size of my browser window.

  29. California Jim says:

Yup, it looks great as it is now but I suspect you will clutter it up flashing/blinking ads in all that white space on the right just beggin to be filled.

  30. jwb says:

It’s a shame about the width. I installed a greasemonkey script to make the Kos layout fluid.

But as for this site, it looks stellar . A top-rate job.

  31. Matthew says:

I’m thinking it would look better with think in normal and only progress in italics….

  32. Thomas says:

Good job but I think the logo could use some more work. Other than that it looks great.

  33. liberal avenger says:

Nice revamp, although I do agree with some of the comments that the header is a little too heavy on the brownish colours. The actual image is very dynamic – congrats.

  34. Stephan says:

The previous version was better. It’s probably best to stray from angular designs. It looks cheap. Very rarely are they implemented elegantly. I would suggest ditching the slanted “Think Progress”, it’s distracting. How about making the top part smaller? Everyone comes here for the content, no? Since your train is slanted, how about having something counter-react it rather than compliment it?

I was fond of the headers for each post on the prior version; the colors designating topics were bright and well chosen .

But I haven’t had my coffee yet.
