Yes, He was an impeachment manager. I do think if there were enough evidence and a reason he would be supportive of impeachmetn for this president. He doesn't like being lied to anymore than any of us do.

I agree with Lindsey and echo his frustration although I do nto think anyone should shut up. I just think that we need to wait to destroy a man until we see who is really at fault. There was an original leak and it probably was not Mr. Rove. It has been reported that Mr. Bolton was a consistant source for Judith Miller. He could be the leak. We may be scapegoating Mr. Rove. The Grand Jury has also Questioned Mr. Libby, the Vice President's Chief assistant.

There is an investigation going on. We need to see if there is an indictment filed and what crime it is for reguarding Mr. Rove. It may be only for perjury which should still be pubished, but it isnot the same as leaking classified information.

Let's see what happens. I want the legal process to work. And with Mr. Fitzgerald as the prosecutor it will because he has already done wonders in Illinois. There have been several indictments against high ranmkii8ng officials in Mayor Daley's administration. My point: If Rove or anyone else is wrong Fitzgerald will us and then we call for heads. Lindsey will support ouster if the legal process demands it. I have no reason to believe otherwise.

What do I think? I think this empire will go the way of past empires, only much more quickly. Damn shame we could not learn from the past and use our good fortune for better purposes.
Don't forget this is not a movie or a sporting event. You live here and this is your future.
Nature always brings things back into balance.

Don't get me started on fascism. The right wing in the US has redefined the word. O-Reilly even called the ACLU fascist. What an idiot! It's the same old ploy by the Repugs. Accuse your opponents of doing the same thing you are doing. The Democrats are too timid, or supposedly, have too much decorum, to call the Repugs fascist and liars, but the Repugs are not afraid to say whatever they want. Then, if the Dems come back and call the Repugs the fascists they are, it looks like a childish "me too" kind of move. The Repugs are all over it. The Dems just need to start telling the truth about the bastards, up front and first. There is nothing left to lose at this point.

Fascism = Corporate wealth + Authoritarian government. All those other tags mislead us. And if you multiply that kind of rule with theocratic power it is not hard to see what the architects and engineers aim to build--a "shining city on the hill." Of course, it will be a gated community and well patrolled by private security officers, and out here, beyond the walls the color of our skin will not matter at all, nor will the death of children. Jesus weeps.

I think this is Bush's plan:

I think all of Bush's wars are related to gaining control over Middle Eastern oil reserves. Many people have accepted that we invaded Afghanistan for the right reasons, to oust the Taliban. I also am glad to see them gone. However, I've read some things that suggest Bush & Co had other motives.

Apparently, Clinton stopped a deal between Unocal (I think) and the Taliban to run a pipeline across Afghanistan to carry Caspian region oil. Apparently, the deal was blocked because of the Taliban's human rights abuses. Can you imagine how angry the oil guys were? They had to elect a president who would do their bidding. Bush has proven to be the perfect guy.

Then, remember, Bush offered the Taliban $50M in aid, or something like that. I think it was spring 2001. I remember wondering why we would give these scoundrels any money. I don't know if the aid ever went out. Then, after the Afghan war started, I read something about a book written by a couple of French guys. (Not in the US mainstream media. The French suck, after all.) In the book, they wrote about an oil pipeline deal between Bush and the Taliban that fell through. Bush told them either they take the deal or we will invade, or some such more inflamatory words. They told Bush to shove it. A couple of months later, 9/11 happened.

So, what do we do? We say that Osama was responsible, so we invaded Afghanistan where the Taliban were protecting him. A few months later, I read an article (from Britain?) that reported a new Unocal pipeline across Afghanistan. I have read nothing about this since. (Notice also that the Bushies never mention oil when they talk about these wars. How ridiculous to think that oil has nothing to do with the actions of this administration.)

Two years later we invade Iraq, which has the second largest known oil reserves.

Then, I saw a recent interview of Kenneth Timmerman on the Daily Show. He has written a book, stating that Osama met with the Iranians to plan the 9/11 attacks. I suspect that the Bushies had the same intelligence.

So, to sum up. Iran has lots of oil also. The US has hated Iran for a long time. Now, we have more reason to hate Iran. Iran is not an easy target. Iraq and Afganistan are easy targets, relatively. We are closing in on Iran, and if we can overtake them, we will have control over a large portion of Middle Eastern oil. The plan is coming together nicely. Eggcellent!

Whattya think?

The President himself said he would fire anyone in his administration who had leaked Plame's name. So, obviously even the President thinks it was wrong, theoretically. Since it has been proven that Karl Rove has done this, he has done something wrong. I always wonder how conservatives can sleep at night when all day long they are spinning and lying insisting the sky is green, then denying it, denying they said that, telling everyone they misunderstood what they said. I know I'd have a hard time sleeping if I had to constantly come up with ludicrous lies and deceptions. I have always wondered if they really believe the bullsh** they are pedaling or if they are conciously aware of what they are doing and are just reprehensible human beings.

Hmm...
Saudi's fly the planes into the buildings where a Bush reletive is involved in the security of said buildings... There is eveidence that "we" knew before-hand but somehow that doesn't serve Bush admin purpose... The Bin Laden family is gathered and given safe passage out of the USA because "we don't want them to become involved in this unfortunate situation" (Saudi Amb. to the USA's words)... Instead of hunting down Osama, we turn and wage a war on a country that had nothing to do with WTC... The Bushies court the corporate and we end up with fixed drug prices, no jobs, a tax break for companies that go offshore, seemingly open borders, China wants to buy a major resouce and the Chairman for Int'l Advisory Board (who doubles as a lobbyist (J. C. Langdon Jr.)) and the WH is quiet... and a government that nobody in his/her right mind would trust with a pair of scissors. Lies, deception, gerrymandering, vote fixing... all good conservative republican ideals and morals. Pardon me while I try to wipe the taste from my mouth. Someone here stated it correctly... "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining". Northeast is in need of a severe reality check... and just by coincidence there's one on the way.

Just one question for the Republicans reading this thread:

What will we tell the children?

That a senior trusted advisor the The President has betrayed their future by revealing national security secrets relating to WMDs?

What do I tell little Johnny when he asks if the bad man got caught and sent to jail?

Do I say: "No Johnny, he's still the Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House." ?

I hope Think Progress has a legal right to use these comments to create a script for tv, a combination of survivor and The Daily Show's shtick of having kids read the remarks of commentator's--or use old folks in a home or at a shuffleboard court. Maybe Think Progress and Comedy Central could produce it jointly. Friends, I have just pointed to a prime-time gold mine. Let's get on it. By the way, I have fallen in love with Susan, eerieguardless of her weight. She has a slim, trim heart. And I appreciate her hurried spelling of "moron" as "noron." It marries negativity to dullness. Kudos to you, Babe, and don't let the norons wear you down.

Fellow Progressives: You have to excuse the conservatives. They are people to watch Faux news because they believe it is fair and balanced. They listen to O-Reilly, et. al. and believe every word they say. They don't listen to NPR because they have been told it is "liberal" so, if they listened, they wouldn't believe a word. They have apparently defined "liberal media" to mean anyone that reports anything critical of the government, if the government is run by republicans. They believe that the most important constitutional amendment is the 2nd (right to bear arms). They believe the NRA is out to protect that right, and is not just a front for the gun industry. They do not understand the 1st amendment, especially regarding free press. They don't understand, or are not informed about, the implications of the recent FCC rulings that have allowed the big media companies to own as many outlets as they want. (Big media companies owned and operated by repubs, of course.) They still claim the media is liberal, even though the MSM is controlled by repubs (big business). They don't understand that a "free press" means COMPLETELY independent of and uninfluenced by the government. They believe that the MSM is "free". They can see that the MSM is current muzzled by the government.

Many of them are Christians. They have been taught to follow blindly their leaders (the Bible, Bush). They believe that the Earth is only ~6000 years old. They believe that the theory of evolution is completely contrary to the creation story in Genesis. Even though Genesis gives no details whatsoever, we should not be curious enough to try learn more about how God went about making the Earth and us. They believe we should just shut up and accept things the way we are told (by uneducated men 2000 years ago, or by Republican politicians today).

How can we argue with people who are not willing to listen to alternative points of view or learn different things that might conflict with their current view?

That's a hoot. We're talking about the man who started a smear campaign against Ann Richards, calling her a lesbian, and yet another smear campaign against John McCain, calling him insane, and the father of a "mixed race" child.

We're talking about a guy who was too sleazy even for George Bush the first, and that's saying something.

Smearing his reputation? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha His reputation was already that of a greasy slimeball, and now he reveals himself as a traitor who puts "partisan politics" above the nation's security.

Perhaps there is such a thing as karma. I'll wait to decide until I see if any of his own slime sticks to him for real.

Abbe Buck publicist. "the press ought to be grateful for him(Mr. Rove) for telling the truth." Fascinating. He cites a discredited Bitish report that Saddam was seeking uranium from Niger, and then calls Rove a hero for slandering Ambassador Wilson while endangeing his wife and her intelligence network.

I served in the USMC, Mr. Rove is a piece of self-serving gargbage, who has endanged the people he has taken an oath to protect.

'deliemma' implies he served, never answers anyone who diusagrees with his facts, and just calls 'Liberals" names.

There is one thing about all true statements on any subject; the facts contained within it or implied are ACCURATE, you liars.

As for liberals, A CRTICISM: Why don't you try looking up the definition of a Political Liberal. It is not a hard word to defend. Its only seven words long; Concise Oxford English Dictionary "for democracy and the abolition of privelege".

By inspection, Deliemma and Abbe Buck are not for either, are they? They are against democracy for that implies free, open to all, critical, debate conducted by people who respect the FACTS, and who seek the truth whereever the debate leads.

These people are pathological liars who only seek power over others.

'abolition of privelege" implies no special breaks for 'themselves'.

Now my 'liberal' friends, being willing to hear all sides of an arguement, only means you let these pathological creeps express their vicious lies so you can expose them for what they are; enemies of democracy and seekers of special priveleges for themselves = a new aristocracy.

That's the Rush Limbaugh Approach to Dialogue: Shut up, shut up, shut up!
It's all part of the (since November, 2000) Republican thuggery 'tude, adopted by all the sissy chickenhawks as some kind of macho posturing, as opposed, of course, to joining the military. This appeals especially to young college and high school punks who couldn't do a chin-up if they tried. Well, those and the ones who can and use that to physically intimidate others.
They see themselves as the "Hunks" and the Dems as the "Average Joes", awaiting total humiliation.
Part of the drive to totally eliminate the Democratic Party, to silence it.
Some Democrat needs to use language in the same way, no prissy "After you, Alphonse" terms. Just reply, "Well, Sen. Graham, why don't YOU just shut up?"

Sorry, as puerile as that sounds, that is what they understand.
