There is no need for any new legislation. Our fearless leaders just need to enforce the laws they put on the books years ago. We have a guest worker program that is not fully utilized, and penalties for unscrupulous employers that hire illegals. Amnesty in any form will only make the situation worse. Enforce the laws and the problem will eventually be taken care of. The current wimpy legislation being debated in the Senate does not appear to address the numerous crimes most illegals are likely guilty of, like forgery, identity theft, traffic violations, tax evasion, etc. If a citizen committed these crimes he would be put away for a long time.
