If you don’t like what the mother of a fallen soldier has to say, what do you do? Smear her! Last night on Fox’s O’Reilly Factor, O’Reilly and right-wing columnist Michelle Malkin launched the personal attack on Cindy Sheehan.
First, O’Reilly painted her as a traitor:
I think Mrs. Sheehan bears some responsibility for this [publicity] and also for the responsibility for the other American families who lost sons and daughters in Iraq who feel this kind of behavior borders on treasonous. LISTEN HERE
Malkin took it up a notch by bringing Sheehan’s son, who was killed last year:
I can’t imagine that Casey Sheehan would approve of such behavior. LISTEN HERE
Is smearing grieving mothers how the right-wing supports the troops?
UPDATE: See Crooks and Liars for video of the segment.
Because MM is a better judge of what Casey would approve than his mother.
Holy cow.
August 10th, 2005 at 10:58 amHoly cow is right. Does he mean treasonous, like outing a CIA agent? Scumbags
August 10th, 2005 at 11:02 amI happened past that little meeting of the minds last night and I couldn’t get over how much they both seemed like cartoon characters. Unfortunately, the target audience are voting adults and not 7 yr. old kids. Ugh!
Both of them are a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic…if you know what I mean.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:10 amI love it. He’s trying to help himself through shock, but he’s really helping her. Keep it up.
I’m going to keep posting this:
Paul Hackett on Diane Rehm: (paraphrase)
-critical is the polite way of describing how officers describe Bush use of military.
-(Officers) don’t know what they are being “asked to accomplish in Iraq, and don’t have a picture of the “end state.
-It’s important to realize that Bush has made dissent unpatriotic.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:11 amFunny how these chickenhawk Republicans, who always want others to fight THEIR battles always know what the victims are thinking or what they would like…but not the family members who knew and spoke to them every day of their lives.
B.O. has done this before.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:12 am[...] Special appearances tonight by Bill “falafel” O’Reilly and Michelle “racist self-hater” Maglalangangangang Malkin. Hey, I didn’t know the racist self-hater was clairvoyant. Falafel: I think Mrs. Sheehan bears some responsibility for this [publicity] and also for the responsibility for the other American families who lost sons and daughters in Iraq who feel this kind of behavior borders on treasonous. August 10th, 2005 at 11:20 amMichelle Malkin – PLEASE do the right thing an Intern yourself! Lead by example!
August 10th, 2005 at 11:25 amO’Reilly has no respect for the military or family members of soldiers.
“Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul
And I hope that you die
And your death’ll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I’ll watch while you’re lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I’ll stand o’er your grave
‘Til I’m sure that you’re dead”
Masters of War by Bob Dylan
August 10th, 2005 at 11:25 amWhat have either of these low-lifes done for their country in their lifetimes? My guess? NOTHING! What will they do in the future? My guess? NOTHING! They should marry each other, as long as they promise not to produce any children…I have blocked Faux on my TV so that I will not run the risk of seeing this sack of animal waste or his equally ugly fellow screech owls.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:27 amSheehan is a LIAR and you people are propogating her LIES. DO NOT smear O’Reilly and Malkin for pointing out the obvious. They are doing their jobs.
Work on winning elections – not aligning yourselves with liars.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:29 amDoes it really matter whether or not he’d approve? He’s dead.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:29 amThese are the ugly mouthpieces of the ReichWingNut regime. They are traitors and support other traitors.
The sound I hear is that of chickens. Not one of them, nor their kin, will ever see duty inside Iraq. Chickens. All of them. There’s no hawk about it.
What a disgrace to themselves and humanity the GOP (Greedy Old Parasites) have become!
August 10th, 2005 at 11:31 amWhere to begin… *sigh*
…speechless!
The Creature (O’Reilly) either had no sense of morality or ethics to begin with or it was burned away by crack use and mk-ultra techniques(self-inflicted).
The man is a total propaganda tool.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:32 amNED. Shut up. You’re making yourself look really really bad right now. Do you really want to be seen supporting these chickens? Well, I guess you do… but you look really stupid in doing this.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:32 amWhatever your take on the Cindy Sheehan Rorshach Test, here’s
August 10th, 2005 at 11:32 amthe troops don’t really need support, they get paid (hey, they’re volunteers! why are we even paying them?) to do a job. They get FREE artificial limbs when theirs are blown off due to poor driving or inability to use MapQuest, and the get free meals.
On the other hand, the Preznit heeds support, cuz it’s “hard work” being President and running a real live ranch with no domestic animals. And having to sign all those bills. Can’t we get him a auto-signer like Rummy has?
August 10th, 2005 at 11:35 amLadys and Gentlemen,
Ignore the troll, “The Northeast Dilemma”, he’s running a bait and run attack. Don’t reply to his/her nonsense.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:35 amBill and Michelle can rest. Cindy Sheehan is going to be arrested tomorrow.
That’s freedom in America.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:38 amIt’s situations like these that show your age, NED.
She is a grieving, angry parent. Whether you agree with her or not she deserves some attention from the President. This is hurting him, also.
The president could have diffused this already you fool.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:38 am[...] (via thinkprogress.org) [...]
August 10th, 2005 at 11:40 amI have heard from an “anonymous source” that O’Reilly & Malkin are actually stem cell replacants that will expire in 2006. Thought everyone would like to know.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:40 amBush won’t go a few miles up the road to give Mrs. Sheehan a few minutes because, through her statements, she clearly wants real answers to really tough questions. Bush is intellectually and morally unable to answer these real questions about his war in Iraq. Our president is a coward.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:45 amHang on a second, if Cindy Sheehan is a national security issue tomorrow – what’s wrong with today? Did she make the PDB?
August 10th, 2005 at 11:46 amI am mystified by the Rove smear campaign on both Ms. Sheehan and Mr. Hackett. What do the Bushies have to gain by trotting out the likes of Malkin, O’Reilly, Limbaugh and the other wingnuts to assasinate Sheehan and Hackett? Politically, what do they hope to gain?
I can understand the hardball, smashmouth brand of politics practiced by Bush and Rove when it’s against other “professional” politicians (McCain, Kerry, Wilson, etc.). If Democrats want to beat the Bushies, they’ll just have to start doing some smashing of their own. But to attack a mother who’s son was killed in Bush’s vanity war. Attack a marine who went to “spread democracy” for actually coming back home to participate in democracy? Is Rove losing his touch? And is this what the troops over in Iraq and Afghanistan now have to look forward to when they return? That they’ll get smeared if they speak out?
Little by little, the President is being called on his crap. And it’s starting with a Mom who has a simple question: “Why did you kill my son?”
August 10th, 2005 at 11:47 am#18 – if indeed she is arrested, I defy anyone to tell me the difference between Germany in the 1930’s and the US in present times.
I pray that Sheehan’s civil liberties remain unviolated.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:48 amThe Gap isn’t exclusively selling brown shirts yet, JC.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:52 amI think O’Reilly has completly lost his mind.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:54 ami hate to sound racist or sexist, im really not, but isnt it obvious Michelle Malkin wishes she was a white, male, republican? i guess 1 out of three aint bad. im sorry, was that too low? hahahaha, but seriously, the woman is a joke, i know pundits on the right(and left for that matter) are a talking point spewing, sheep-like, coordinated bunch, but she always sounds especially un-original to me. she does a great job of sticking to the conservative script.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:56 amWRITE TO FOX AND TELL THEM HOW DISGUSTING THEY ARE!
August 10th, 2005 at 11:57 amall our bitching and moaning here will not do anything. and then write or call the advertisers and tell them you are exercising your right and will not purchase any of thier products.
Money talks!
I wanted NED to say that, ATC. But you put it perfectly.
August 10th, 2005 at 11:57 amThey know, Diane.
I just met someone who looks nearly identical to Bill Clinton. Talks like him, too. I asked him if the similarity was an insult or compliment. He said “I’ve been hearing that for years…I’m a hardcore Republican. But Clinton is alright. How can you not like him.”
I personally felt the same way about Reagan. This is the problem, NED. Your president divided the country. He is not a leader in any sense of the word.

August 10th, 2005 at 12:05 pmRead Maureen Dowd’s piece today. She nailed it.
“The Bush team tried to discredit ‘Mom’ by pointing reporters to an old article in which she sounded kinder to W. If only her husband were an undercover C.I.A. operative, the Bushies could out him.”

August 10th, 2005 at 12:09 pmtreason just isn’t what it used to be.
August 10th, 2005 at 12:11 pmI can’t believe I just read that. They really think that they know what Cindy’s son would want more than she would.
At least she is just sitting on the side of the road. I’d be banging on his door until I got arrested. Well I guess it doesn’t even take that to get arrested. I guess all it takes now days is sitting on the side of the road.
Da Fuehrer Bush!
August 10th, 2005 at 12:22 pmSad. The whole of the US is looking pretty sad to the rest of the world. It’s pitiful and ignorant men and women like BO & MM that make the US look even more cruel…
August 10th, 2005 at 12:23 pm…not to mention selfish.
August 10th, 2005 at 12:32 pmCindy on June 24, 2004 after meeting with Bush:
“I now know he’s sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he’s sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he’s a man of faith.”
Quite a different tune.
August 10th, 2005 at 12:51 pmPersonally, I’d like to see a lot more right wing ideologues bashing military families. Maybe MM can take a delegation wearing giant flip-flops and call Cindy a flip-flopper. President Bush can induct her into the “Flip-flopper hall of fame.” That would show those liberals who’s boss!
Tony, I suggest you go there immediately and tell her what a hypocrite she is. Call her a traitor. Show the WSJ how tough you are.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:02 pmWhy won’t you people wake up? How dare a grieving mother have any other opinion than Bush is a noble, Churchill-like (but better) leader who sends America’s brave sons and daughters off on a completely non-quixotic mission that currently involves (but may soon change) democratizing Iraq as to make the Middle East more peaceful by blowing it up. It is clearly treason to question the virtues of the War-President/God, after all he fought the commies over Texas when they invaded in the eighties but you evil communist symathizing liberals want to bury the truth now don’t you? Watch the documentary “Red Dawn” and Fox News and your eyes will truly be opened.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:06 pmtony,
if you had bothered to do some research including visiting cindy’s website you would have a better idea of whats she is doing, and why she has changed her mind.
Please why don’t you send your kids to fight in Iraq then you can post all the pro war stuff you want.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:11 pmTony: It would be, if she had actually said that. Hint: Don’t believe everything you read at Drudge.
In fact, this is what she actually said:
August 10th, 2005 at 1:12 pm
I saw her initial interviews also. She was being magnanimous, yet very clearly she was always paired with a pro war mother. Her message was clear, and it was not praise for Bush.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:17 pmTony and NeD– you two are tools. Seig heil, you nazis.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:17 pm#23
God, no… if she made the PDB she’d still be being ignored. We all know Duhbuhya doesn’t read the PDBs.

August 10th, 2005 at 1:37 pmThe vigil of Cindy Sheehan outside President Bush’s Crawford, Texas ranch has come to embody all the anger and division of the increasingly counterproductive American debate over Iraq. Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq, says she wants to meet again with President Bush to ask him, “why did you kill my son?” But while she is lionized by the left and vilified by the right, Washington fiddles and Baghdad burns.
Sadly for now, the entire Iraq debate seems to have become symbolized by the grief of single soldier’s mother. For the forces of the left and right, Cindy Sheehan has become a Rorshach Test for America’s Iraq policy. People see what they want to see. Unfortunately, the partisan venom and media circus in Crawford aren’t making the true picture of our Iraq strategy any clearer.
For the full story, see:
“The Cindy Sheehan Rorshach Test”
August 10th, 2005 at 1:39 pmMM cannot, repeat, cannot imagine ANY THOUGHT not approved by her ventriloquists. And you just gotta love the strong, brave language of BO’R “borders on treasonous.” That says what it means, i.e., nothing, and it means what it says, i.e., nothing. “Borders on” is weasel language, as in “borders on jaywalking,” for which a pedestrian cannot be issued a ticket, or “borders on bank robbery,” for which Willie Sutton could not be arrested. Hey, if that is all it takes to make big money running my mouth, just show me the contract and see me sign.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:40 pmGreat link from MisterB on #45. Should be required reading here. Our trolls seem to have these rules down pat.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:50 pmMisterB – grow up. It’s like you are living in an alternate universe. No one thinks like you. This country is bleeding red because of freaks like yourself.
Jeff – you are the Nazis. Kill babies, symapathize with sicko terrorists.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:53 pmFred – shut up. You people are the ones propogating lies and invective. We’re just here to clean it up. AND take everything shred of power you have away from you. It only gets worse from here asshole.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:54 pmKissy kissy, Neddy baby.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:55 pmMrs. Sheehan on the scumbag O’Reilly:
“He was telling his viewers that I am a tool for the liberals and that I am a tool for the anti-war movement. Right now, what we are doing right here in Crawford IS the anti-war movement.”
August 10th, 2005 at 1:56 pm#52 – be sure to bring her around for the next election so we can smear Democrats as anti-war liberals who know nothing about America’s might. Be sure to do it.

August 10th, 2005 at 1:57 pmCan we get Ned banned from this site? He has stopped bringing any honest debate, and has resorted to hate and smear tactics.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:58 pmMisterB’s link has just gotten the NAZI seal of disapproval from NED. A MUST READ for sure.
August 10th, 2005 at 1:59 pmwhy can’t we get ned booted for being the obvious troll he is? What’s up with that?
Tony – I don’t agree with you frequently, but you are usually civil so I’m cool with you.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:00 pmJay – lol!
BTW – since you all helped John Kerry hide his anti-war past so you could fool the American people into voting for him, how do you feel knowing that Winter Soldier (a disproven lie) is being re-released? Oh – and it wasn’t the Swifties that were responsible? lol!!! Poor liberals – finally getting what they deserve.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:00 pmKranzy – this blog is a HATE and SMEAR tactic. How does it feel to have thrown back at you? Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it. That was John Kerry’s problem.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:02 pmWhen the groundswell of support for Cindy comes forward, the Bushites will see what one ripple caused by one loving mother can do.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:02 pmLet hate go and jump on the peace-train. Let all the talking heads say what they may…the truth is in that ditch in Crawford, Texas.
As a Marine combat vet, I cheer the guts and determination of Cindy. Reminds me of my deceased mom who would be standing side by side with her.
ned,
this is about debate not your stupid rants. I often don’t agree with tony and some others who post here, but there civil, your not. and you have consistently gone down hill since you started posting here.
This website is devoted to pointing out the errors it sees with the right wing same as redstate points out the failings of the left wing.
try civil discourse sometime you might get a better response.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:07 pmNortheast Dilemma,
I live in the Northeast too. How about you and I meet in person to discuss our differences face to face. I’d be willing to do the driving. What do you say?
August 10th, 2005 at 2:07 pmSurreal soon seemed like an understatement, as the Sheehans – one of 17 families who met Thursday with Bush – were whisked in a matter of days to the Army post and given the VIP treatment from the military. But as their meeting with the president approached, the family was faced with a dilemma as to what to say when faced with Casey’s commander-in-chief.
“We haven’t been happy with the way the war has been handled,” Cindy said. “The president has changed his reasons for being over there every time a reason is proven false or an objective reached.”
The 10 minutes of face time with the president could have given the family a chance to vent their frustrations or ask Bush some of the difficult questions they have been asking themselves, such as whether Casey’s sacrifice would make the world a safer place.
But in the end, the family decided against such talk, deferring to how they believed Casey would have wanted them to act. In addition, Pat noted that Bush wasn’t stumping for votes or trying to gain a political edge for the upcoming election.
“We have a lot of respect for the office of the president, and I have a new respect for him because he was sincere and he didn’t have to take the time to meet with us,” Pat said.
“I now know he’s sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis,” Cindy said after their meeting. “I know he’s sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he’s a man of faith.”
The meeting didn’t last long, but in their time with Bush, Cindy spoke about Casey and asked the president to make her son’s sacrifice count for something. They also spoke of their faith.
While meeting with Bush, as well as Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, was an honor, it was almost a tangent benefit of the trip. The Sheehans said they enjoyed meeting the other families of fallen soldiers, sharing stories, contact information, grief and support.
For some, grief was still visceral and raw, while for others it had melted into the background of their lives, the pain as common as breathing. Cindy said she saw her reflection in the troubled eyes of each.
“It’s hard to lose a son,” she said. “But we (all) lost a son in the Iraqi war.”
The trip had one benefit that none of the Sheehans expected.
For a moment, life returned to the way it was before Casey died. They laughed, joked and bickered playfully as they briefly toured Seattle.
For the first time in 11 weeks, they felt whole again.
“That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together,” Cindy said.
http://www.thereporter.com/search/ci_2923921
Grief is a powerful thing, but she has changed her tune. She was the one who said her son would have wanted her to act dignified. Her son volunteered for the military, he was a grown man. What is sad is how your ilk have used her. Now she has made herself a propaganda tool for the animals who killed her son. She was always against the war, but her account of the meeting has changed and she now dishonors herself, though nothing she can do will dishonor her son.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:09 pmHey Cindy Man, you are ruining my action here.Go to another corner man. You camp out, gain media attention, expose the war for what it is,then FOX ratings go down, my ratings go down, and I am goin’ to be stuck with thousands of mugs, tee-shirts, doormats etc.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:09 pm1/2 price sale next week.
NED,
I saw the footage of BO and MM. They were not as bad as this post would have you believe. They both did a nice job of being Devil’s Advocate early in the discussion.
But as usually occurs with BO, toward the end he begins to talk like Patton, not letting MM get a word in. That’s classic BO. He’s just using this story to once again shock, and attepmt to save his show. MM deserves the treatment she gets from him for being on that show.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:10 pmKranzy – this site calls Bush a LIAR on a daily basis. At least one person per post compares Bush to Hitler. What you hear from me is what I hear from you guys. I’m just returning the thoughtless invective I read.
Jay – I live in NYC. I suppose you want to meet so you can “beat me up.” Would that make you feel better? I’ll even let you win.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:11 pmKrazny – Methinks we’ll let NeD speak.. we’re not the fake Bush town hall types here.
“America’s might” is pure military in his view, and can be shown only by unending war with no goals. His type will never understand the might of “earned respect”.
In a way, he’s discrediting Hagel-esque conservatives by going blazing extreme wingnut postal. He’s not even helping his own cause. His breed is “in his last throes”, to quote somebody else.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:11 pmfake,
Have you considered the possibility that Cindy Sheehan didn’t have enough information at the time and was in fact taking the high road (based on what she knew) and since then she has discovered the absolute truth and it enrages her that her son was killed for lies and war profiteering?
August 10th, 2005 at 2:12 pmI like the racist overtones in the comments about Malkin, you prove what I have been saying about you. I know most of you are white, upper middle-class, bigots who are afraid of your own racist feeling so you project them. But the left is traditionally racist, so it’s not like I’m surprised, just disgusted.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:15 pmNortheast,
I wouldn’t want to beat you up, but it would be interesting to look a neo-nazi in the eye. Maybe it’d help me understand your position better and we could become friends.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:16 pmCindy Sheehan = the lone man in Teinanmen Square standing in front of the column of tanks.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:16 pmfba – doing a lot of research on Cindy, eh? How about doing a critical look against the powerful? (Go after Democratic senators and governors, I don’t care)
Your going after a grieving Mom shows what kind of a sleazy cowardly character you are. Shame on you.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:17 pmPlease point out the “racist overtones”, because I didn’t detect that at all. Maybe I missed it but I think it more likely you’re comprehending what you read with a distorted perspective and believing what you want to believe.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:19 pm“left is traditionally racist”
I know.. my buddies in the Klan were such stereotypical liberals.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:19 pmJay – stop it with the Nazi nonsense! Please. It doens’t make any sense. I am conservative, I like Bush and I believe in the war. Therefore, I am a Nazi. I just don’t get it.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:21 pmNED
August 10th, 2005 at 2:21 pmWe know you are a Ken Mehlman republican. Come clean and come out. It will probably help with your psychosis and allow for a logical thought process.
I’ll be in NYC next weekend, what do you say tough guy.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:21 pmYou’re paranoid, Fake. I work with a guy who is ashamed of his wife. His remarks are similar to yours.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:23 pmJay she was against the war when she met him, she said it herself. Then she thought about what her son would have wanted her to do, and how he would have expected her to act. She lied when she changed her story and said she could not talk about the meeting until now, she talked about it right after it happened. She could not make the decision for her son to join the military, he was an adult. She didn’t believe in her sons mission, his president or anything else. She volunteered the information about how she felt about Bush, now changed her story of the meeting and she stalks him. She needs help, I’m sorry to say, but not the kind of help the president can give. You people are feeding her neurosis.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:24 pmNed, please educate us. What is it about Bush that you like? How about a top 5 qualities list, either political or personal attributes. I’m dying to know.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:24 pmThe only good connie is a dead connie.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:27 pmFor what it is worth:
August 10th, 2005 at 2:30 pmMaybe we should create an Iraqi War Secret Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to stop all of these traitors from openly grieving for their loved ones. Place it on a well guarded military base, off-limits to the general public, and visits are only permitted at night with an I.D..No talking or flashlights.
And by the way, Fake. If I have learned anything in my 40 years of life and 12 years of marraige it’s that “P*ssy” and “C*nt” are not words that gentlemen use. At least not happily married ones.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:34 pmAre you sure you’re married? Is she a trucker?
NeD- How is it that I (or we) that were opposed to the war in Iraq from the beginning are sympathizing with terrorists; if I’m not mistaken the terrorists are Al-Qaida and their leader is still at large, I want that bastard hunted down and tried, or killed, however, the President had another agenda and we see how well that is going for our honorable soldiers. Conversely, we can see how well it is going for Halliburton and the military industrial complex. What babies are you referring too? If, by some strange correlation, you are discussing a women’s right to choose, well, you really are part of the problem.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:34 pmby my count Bush is a liar Ned, suppressing freedom, free speech, and civil is awfully close to what hitler did in nazi germany.
we call a spade a spade here maybe you have that term?
August 10th, 2005 at 2:37 pmjay for you:

47.MM cannot, repeat, cannot imagine ANY THOUGHT not approved by her ventriloquists.
78.You’re paranoid, Fake. I work with a guy who is ashamed of his wife
Like I told you, minorities are ok, as long as they goose-step along with you. Sexist remarks as well, like Malkin can’t have her own opinion. Then you start dropping the nazi word around like confetti. It’s really freaking sad, you are what you claim to hate the most.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:37 pmI smell something funny in the air.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:38 pmFake, it certainly is easy for you to judge this woman from your keyboard in your air conditioned office. At least she has taken the initiative to take action and protest right at Bush’s front door. I find it impossible to believe that she ever wanted a war and now she wants the war to end. What’s wrong with that?
August 10th, 2005 at 2:38 pmAmerican people have to see the light. The Bush Regime and all of the Cons don’t connect to this war. Bush doesn’t connect because he doesn’t attach war with death. This regime will not even allow the coffins coming back home to be seen by the American people. We are all bordering on treason because we have allowed this to go on in America, we have allowed the Bush Regime to change the terms of which this country was founded on. The serious questions never get answered like why hasn’t Osama Bin Laden been captured (Tora Bora) and how is it just so convenient that every time support for Bush drops, a video by Bin Laden shows up. Bill O’Lielly and Michelle Malkin are low level Nazi Foot soldiers, they can no longer think for themselves. We do need to stay the course, STAY THE COURSE TO IMPEACH BUSH. America does have the ability to remove men like Hitler, even when the Hitler is within our own borders.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:39 pmYer heat shields aren’t holdin’, Fake.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:40 pm“like Malkin can’t have her own opinion.”
So when Malkin’s a racist, it’s her “opinion,” but if Jay says she should be interned, he’s a racist. More sound logic from the Right.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:45 pmFOLKS!
Look NED & FAKE are closeted gay collage republicans. Don’t talk issues with them, just mock their lack of backbone for not “coming out”. Just remind them it is ok to be an open homosexual on our side and ease their conflict.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:46 pmBrian I never said I was a gentleman did I? It’s my blog, made out of anger and frustration at you lunatics on here, who try like hell to get us to break your fascists rules, that you break all the time, and openly ask for us to be banned because we challenge your illogical opinions. I made that site so you could say whatever you wanted, or in your case, whatever your wife allows. What’s wrong with women truckers now, like women pundits you have something against them? Like I said, racist and sexists. She’s an author and mother for the record.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:46 pmOne would hope that efforts by the right to smear a woman grieving over her dead son would backfire spectacularly, as in the American people pulling a “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it any more.” But, as we’ve learned, that sort of shit only happens in the movies.
This reminds me somewhat of that scene in Fahrenheit 9/11, when the mother of a dead soldier is accosted by a Bush supporter outside the White House; this Bush supporter assumes the woman is lying about her son being killed in Iraq. The whole damn lot of them operate on the same principle.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:46 pmthese people (and that is a stretch) are sick in the head….
August 10th, 2005 at 2:47 pmI found Malkin to be smart, cute, articulate, and spineless when BO kept talking over her.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:49 pmWhy should someone who is part of the “winners” and in total control of everything be frustrated by a few losers with bad ideas FBA?
August 10th, 2005 at 2:52 pmNow you use gay as a put down, I thought you are pro-gay? Now it’s a bad word, like when Kerry used it, or you went after that Gannon guy. So it’s ok top be a woman, minority or gay, as long as you either think like you or keep your mouth shut, and this forum is for liberals only, like you democrats liked your white only drinking fountains. Blacks are ok as victim, but SEC. State makes them “Uncle toms.” Byrd can be in the kkk, drop the N bomb but we are rascist cause you said so. Just getting the rules straight.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:53 pmFair enough, Fake. Actually, I like both yours and NED’s posts. (I find you to be more articulate). And I actually take your remarks seriously.
Honestly, many remarks on here have been below the belt, but I would say the subject matter drives the opinions of Malkin.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:53 pmNo Brian, he’s an asshole. And he’s gay but homosexual.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:57 pmThere are people on both sides who wear their compassion for sexes, races and gays like a crown. You’re using this as a wedge tool, Fake.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:58 pmFake,
I think you’re confused. Calling Malkin a racist (she seems to be) does not make anyone here a racist. It makes them a truthteller. Calling you or Dilemma neo-fascists or Nazis doesn’t make us either one, it makes us people that are disgusted by what this administration is driving this country towards. We’d like to see you get a hold of your senses, stop looking to the propagandists for your information and help us to fight to stop America from sliiping further down the drain. Since you are a serious Kool-aid drinker, this is not an option, so we call it like we see it and fight you. Of course this sight probably doesn’t generate as much interest or stir up the progressive bases emotions without the likes of you….so keep up the good work.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:58 pmI’m a nice guy. I’ll show you all. May I push your stool in Northeast Dilemma?
August 10th, 2005 at 2:58 pmLet’s see – Bush exploits fear (911 911 911 WMDs, Nuke-ular, “Mushroom cloud”), exploits distorted or outright bad intelligence (WMDs, bogus Saddam Al Qaeda connections), exploits false promises (it will make us safer, it will be easy, it will be short, there won’t be many losses, it won’t cost much) to lead us into war, exploits the military as props (”Mission Accomplished”, various appearances with the Military during the 2004 campaign), but won’t attend their funeral services or even memorials, and then takes a 5 week vacation while the country is at war that was his choice.
But a Mother of a dead solider “apparently” does not have total 100% perfect recall of her brief meeting with with the President of the United States – She’s the exploiter. We live if a Faux News world.
August 10th, 2005 at 2:58 pmI found Malkin to be smart, cute, articulate, and spineless when BO kept talking over her.
Comment by Brian  August 10, 2005 @ 2:49 pm
This is funny
August 10th, 2005 at 2:58 pmFake
August 10th, 2005 at 3:01 pmThere are no rules we threw them away after idiots like you started spewing. And yes, it quite ok to be gay on our side. It just when frat boys like yourself have so much pent up hate, I conclude you probably have a sexual conflict going on. Plus Gannon guy was a malewhore, last I remember it was your neogod whackjobs who hate homosexuals.
What the hell does it matter what this mother said in 2004? She’s not allowed to say anything different? I think right wing nuts forget that we all don’t abide by a certain set of talking points.
Also, let’s remember that Bush’s approval is in the toilet, down a number of points from 2004. Seems like a lot of people are amending their original thoughts. Are they all to be discredited.
I swear, rightwing nuts would take down their own mothers if GWB and his minions asked them to.
If i were Sheehan, I would want to a piece of Malkin for daring to speak for my son. O’Reilly did the same thing a few years ago, if you recall, when a son of a fallen serviceman was on his show protesting the war.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:01 pm“I’m a nice guy. I’ll show you all. May I push your stool in Northeast Dilemma?”
THAT’S funny. Genius!
August 10th, 2005 at 3:03 pmFBA is a racist. The fact that he married a black woman doesn’t mean he isn’t a racist. Lot’s of black racists marry black and/or white women. We have a black Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, who is a racist, married to a white woman. I’ve actually met and debated this kind of narcissistic but self-hating racist before, a certain hispanic ex-warden of San Quentin comes to mind. They actually think they are better than the majority of their own race. Thomas Sowell, Bill Cosby, Armstrong Williams, I could go on.

And hit it on the head.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:05 pmwhen Johnson signed the equal rights act in the 60’s the southern democrats went to the republican party, and the northern republicans switched to the democratic party. most of the southern democrats switched allegiance because they were unhappy about equal rights and desegragation. To say the democratic party is racist is correct up until the 1060’s then the comparison falls apart. On the other hand many of the dixiecrats signed up as republicans when they failed as segregationist. who is the racist then?
August 10th, 2005 at 3:07 pmI’m not a racist. I hate you all equally. Why can’t we all just get along and leave each other alone?
August 10th, 2005 at 3:07 pmI smell something funny in the air.
Comment by Auschwitz resident 1940’s
Follow with a holocaust joke. Yes it was a really funny chapter in leftism. Only Satlin killed as many Jews, hey another leftist. The pride swells in your hearts I’m sure. Now you are allied with muslims who call the Jews dogs and so forth, great, at least we now were you are coming from when you bash Israel.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:08 pmNo actually fake, Stalin was your cut-out to be stenciled into your Dear Leader.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:09 pmClarence Thomas is as black as a sizzlin’ isotope.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:10 pmI don’t dislike Jeff Gannon, I am actually Jealous of Jeff
August 10th, 2005 at 3:11 pmAnd the fact that FBA and NED take turns pushing in each other’s stool don’t make them special. Gay folks are just like anybody else. You got the good guys like John Aravosis and the majority, far too many to list, of these fine decent American men and women, and then you have a few idiots like Jeff Gannon, Ken Mehlman, most of the Log Cabin Republicons, Charles Johnson of Little Green Fartballs… it’s just them against us, and gender, sexual orientiation, race, religion, ethnic origin and the rest don’t mean squat.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:14 pmI smell NAZI’s(neo-CONS) up to evil deeds and hiding the truth.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:14 pmIf you polled the entire world and asked them if Joe Stalin more reminded them of A. FDR B. JFK or C. GWB, I would bet my LIFE that the only % that didn’t say C would be the Fox-news watching, Limbaugh-listening, evangelical nutjob base of the GOP. Take it to the bank.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:14 pmJay is right. The only good connie is a dead connie.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:15 pmLeft and Stalin are not synonymous. Left and communist are not synonymous. C’mon, Fake. That’s no longer en vogue! Calling liberals commies???
August 10th, 2005 at 3:15 pmBrian I’m pointing out the hypocrisy. Ok, I got stuff to do, I’ll see you all later, unless you can pull off a purge like Kos did. I feel for Mrs. Sheenan, on more levels than I think you are seeing here. Kerry used POW moms to help the NVA as well, so it is like Vietnam, same tactics by our enemies within at least.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:16 pmDebating racism, sexism or homosexuality will all become irrelevant if we don’t focus on the problem that is right in front of us, BUSH and the Degenerates in his Administration.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:17 pmThat’s since the last Eisenhower and Goldwater conservative died the day Reagan became Lenin.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:17 pmYou got some great-grandpa who says that? “Damn commie pinko liberals!” Fake!?!?
August 10th, 2005 at 3:18 pmNeither of those chickenhawks has the courage to say any of that to Cindy’s face. They’re cowards hiding behind their desks a long way from anything resembling a fight.

One more but I gotta go. jay, I come here everyday, I go to Kos and the DU and Indymedia. I read the MIL blogs both pro and con. If you are right about these subjects, convince me, I was a leftist most of my life, it should be easy. Look at the people using my name to post on here, look at what these people who are on your side are saying. We are all in this together, and I’m a freaking jerk in my posts sometimes, but I know we can’t save civilization if we are divided, and really that’s why I come here. If I just went to right-wing sites I would be wasting my time, and if we didn’t come here you would be wasting yours. The great thing about this medium is we can exchange info, and the MSM has lost it’s monopoly. Really, from the bottom of my heart, all of you have a good day.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:27 pmFellow progressives
These connies posting here are probably college republicans who just completed a heritage foundation college connie seminar on how to argue with liberals. If you allow a serious discourse with them they only hone their skills to be used against college dems. DON”T DO IT! Mock them, mock them, and mock them only!
August 10th, 2005 at 3:27 pmWhen you’re right there is no justification for not trying to talk in complete sentences and with cogent arguements, no matter with whom.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:35 pmI’ve done the needed thing, 80203, by severing my friendships with Bush supporters. When they want to talk to me? They better come to ME.
A classic attempt to turn the tables FBA. You’ll be back again soon, as rabid as ever.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:40 pmwe are fighting to stop the country from going down the drain that the republicans have opened up. too bad so many of the more moderate republicans are afraid to go against the fringe groups on the right. We might be doing better if they showed more backbone.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:48 pmwhat struck me watching this interview – was when o’reilly started dismissing radicals – all the whle he’s sitting next to michelle malkin – that made for a moment of irony!
August 10th, 2005 at 3:50 pmHonestly, I like this site. But the trolls are driving me away. I’ll still read & post, but there are other blogs where I don’t have to deal with the fools as much.
Hate to paraphrase Reagan of all people, but I guess I will vote with my feet.
August 10th, 2005 at 3:53 pm#134 – which other blogs?
August 10th, 2005 at 4:05 pmfake,
What the hell has to happen before you are convinved that this administration is destroying this country? The ThinkProgress folks document the lies, the distrotions, the Orwellian behavior of the Republicans each and every day. They point out the hypocrisy, they call them on their lies, they produce evidence and facts. Just pay attention. I admit that the Democrats aren’t much better solely because they are feeding from the same deep-pocketed, special-interest trough and they KNOW that the more pro-corporate/anti-working class legislation that gets passed the richer they become too. I exclude a small group of Dems from that accusation but the majority are complicit in the rape of the American people. Our elected Representatives DO NOT represent us. The GOP however is dangerously greedy and delusional and they will stop at nothing to destroy their political enemies (that means the Congressman and judges that pose even the slighest bit of resistance) and thus destroy our democracy. This is supposed to be a two-party (at least) system with checks and balances, advise and consent. It isn’t today. We’re getting screwed, they’re stealing our tax dollars, dropping bombs in our name on innocent civilians and cashing in. Lastly, the media and the voting apparatus in this country are corrupted. Until we can return both to some semblance of the truth…..democracy is no longer with us.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:07 pmAmen, Jay.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:09 pmSo Casey Sheehan, who was in Iraq fighting for “freedom and democracyâ€?, wouldn’t approve of his mother standing up for what she believes and exercising her first amendment rights? Only those with a thought process like those two asses would be able to come up with a thought like that. Isn’t it nice how there are so many jerks in the world so willing to put words in the mouth of someone who can no longer speak for themselves.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:11 pmThis from Digby:
From May 1999 through August 2003, Krempasky worked for Blackwell as the graduate development director of the Leadership Institute, an Arlington, Virginia–based school for conservative leaders founded by Blackwell in 1979. The institute is the organization that had provided “Gannon with his sole media credential before he became a White House correspondent. It also now operates “Internet Activist Schools designed to teach conservatives how to engage in “guerilla Internet activism.
Indeed, Krempasky could be found teaching this Internet activism course one recent February weekend to about 30 young conservatives at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington. “He advocated that people write from their experience — and not necessarily as conservatives,â€? a Democratic consultant who attended the seminar incognito told me. For example, Krempasky told “a conservative firefighterâ€? that he should write about firefighting because that would be of interest to readers. Using that angle, he could build an audience. And if push ever came to shove, he could respond to an online dogfight from the unassailable position of being a firefighter — and not as just another conservative ideologue. Krempasky then offered to help all the attendees set up their own blogs. “We’re definitely in serious trouble,â€? said the Democratic attendee.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:15 pmNot saying that NeD & Fake are guerilla internet activists, but they are honing skills.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:17 pmCitizen.
It’s an interesting phenom, but they have one major problem. They are defending lies. When you have the truth squarely on your side it doesn’t matter how skillful the tactics of your debating opponents may be, they’re still dishonest.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:23 pmI can play this game too:
Malkin’s grandfather would be ashamed of her and would disown her if he knew the crap his grandchild was spewing.
O’Reilly… well, all of his ancestors would have begged his mother to abort if they knew what was to come of their gene pool.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:25 pmSubterfuge, subterfuge, subterfuge. I’m with you 80203, by the way are you in Denver?
August 10th, 2005 at 4:26 pmJay
I could not agree more. However, I still think they should not be engaged by us in serious discourse.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:26 pmJeff
August 10th, 2005 at 4:28 pmYes Denver, within spitting distance of the Springs.
Roger that Citizen.
So back to Malkin and O’Reilly, I rarely stay tuned to FauxNews long enough to get too worked up, but the folks that still think Bill O’Reilly is even slightly credible are the dimmest of the dim. I’m anxiously awaiting his total breakdown. It will happen.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:32 pmLast I heard O’Reilly’s viewers were dropping and Fox was considering moving him to some other time slot.
August 10th, 2005 at 4:38 pmKrazny,
O’Reilly is disgraceful but I still say Hannity is worse. He doesn’t even pretend to look at both sides of any issue. He should be in prison along with the rest of the war criminals. What a scumbag.

Smear ‘em like butta’!
August 10th, 2005 at 5:35 pmMM is a pathetic venom filled pawn of the neocon right;if she ever tried to regain whatever humanity she has left or deviated from their fascist tactics she would be discarded like a piece of useless trash and would be just another “gook”. She can dress, talk, act and pantomine being who she is not, but she cannot escape her racial/ethnic genesis. How sad for her and her family.
August 10th, 2005 at 5:48 pm[...] That’s the mantra of the Republicans and their apologists – do whatever it takes to “win”, no matter the deficit of decency required to make things happen. In the most recent case we see the coordinated smear of Iraq vet mother Cindy Sheehan. You see, the mothers of deceased veterans are quite good and useful when they can be used as campaign backdrops by the Dear Leader, but when they speak inconvenient truths, the attack machine must be wheeled into place and pressed into action like it has so many times before. It’s sad, it’s sick, and its the Republican way. [...]

Michelle Malkin is, what the Bible refers to, an angel of light. This is the description of a devious and evil soul masquerading as an angel of beauty and light. Nothing can describe MM any better than that. Behind that cute little asian face lurks the worst kind of evil. Same goes for Ann Coulter.
August 10th, 2005 at 6:34 pmWhat would you expect from a woman who wants schools to stop teaching tolerance and using anti-bullying programs to start teaching kids to defend themselves and how to use guns because kids are too soft. See her article here: http://www.townhall.com/columnists/michellemalkin/mm20050629.shtml
I hope her two little kids get the *^%# beat out of them and then see what she does. Oh, right, she’d have the kids arrested, pull weight at the school, get the kids expelled and then sue the parents. The “american” way.

August 10th, 2005 at 8:13 pmMy comments are going to seem kinda tame after all the previous ones I’ve read tonight, but…Tony, #37: when a loved one dies, at first you really want to act the way you believe that loved one wants you to act. When my mother was dying of lung cancer, she wanted me to be tolerant of her right-wing conservative brother, who took every opportunity to make fun of my liberal convictions. I did my best at first, but eventually he annoyed me enough (especially at Mum’s wake, when he asked me if I had converted any conservatives lately) that I had to go against my mother’s wishes. It’s easy for you to say that Cindy Sheehan changed her tune, but YOU can’t know whether that tune had already been stuck in her head and was only suppressed by her own ill-made promise to herself that she wouldn’t dishonor or embarrass her son.
August 10th, 2005 at 8:36 pmAnd to NED–I live in the Northeast, too. Can you please move somewhere else?
DUBYA, THE PUSSY GRIZZLY BEAR WHO RUNS AND HIDES
Here’s an excerpt from a great article by Dr. Teresa Whitehurst at http://www.SmirkingChimp.Com:
“…I was watching a nature show about grizzly bears in their natural habitat. I will never forget one particularly electrifying scene that comes to mind whenever I hear about Cindy Sheehan’s vigil outside Mr. Bush’s gated compound.
A large male grizzly came upon two adorable little grizzly cubs, who looked up at him with wonder and naivete; clearly, they didn’t realize the danger they were in. To my great surprise, however, the male grizzly stood bolt upright as though startled, then starting running away from those harmless little cubs. Why on earth did he do that, I wondered. The narrator explained that the male knew instinctively that there’s nothing more dangerous than a mother grizzly who senses that her cubs may be harmed.
As the huge male ran off into the woods, the narrator continued: ‘While the male grizzly is larger and could probably kill the female, he knows that in the process, her protective fury would leave him seriously, if not mortally, wounded. Mother grizzly bears will fight to the death for their young, ripping the flesh of any animal, no matter how large, that threatens their cubs. Coming upon the youngsters frightened the adult male so badly that he ran and hid because the mother, unseen but without a doubt somewhere near by, could at any moment sniff his presence and roar into action.’”
And so it plays out in Crawford. The determined momma grizzly scaring the holy crap out of a chicken-hearted, pussy boy grizzly named “Dubya.”
August 10th, 2005 at 9:20 pmJane,
Good post. I think that’s an excellent possibility and I feel bad about your uncle. I have an aunt who is similarly deluded and we haven’t spoken in a year after some heated political debate. My grandmother (her mom) is not well and it’s killing her that we cannot reconcile over what she see’s as a silly matter. I tried to take the high road but only because my grandmother asked me to and my aunt wasn’t ready to make amends. So fvck her. My grandmother will have to be upset, but once she’s gone I will never make another effort to fix this, barring an apology from my aunt. In my eyes, this is important and serious enough to ruin relationships but I will stick by my guns because it’s a matter of principle. The conservatives are pompous now, but when it dawns on them that htey’ve gotten behind a band of lying criminals….they’ll be singing a different tune. Mark my words.
August 10th, 2005 at 9:32 pm[...] Creepy Michelle Malkin says Mrs. Sheehan’s son wouldn’t approve of her activity. How the hell would Michelle know? She hasn’t risked her sorry a** because she felt a responsibility to her country. All she does is trash anyone who doesn’t agree with her. [...]
August 10th, 2005 at 9:39 pm“a dead connie”? who was she and when did she die and what of?
August 10th, 2005 at 9:51 pmBush, a coward? How can you say such a thing?
On 9/11, when all the rest of us were under attack, Bush ran screaming and hid until Mr. Cheney told him it was safe to emerge.
Oh, no wait, I forgot.Terrrrrrorists were chasing his plane.
God what a loser.
August 10th, 2005 at 10:52 pmHow low can they go?
August 10th, 2005 at 11:40 pmThey attack the mother of a dead soldier.
These people are sick.
The president is an arrogant ass.
Of course he won’t come out from his hiding place to talk with Cindy Sheehan. He is the biggest wimp of all times.
He calls himself a war president. Pussy. Why did he hide from Vietnam? Why doesn’t he have his daughters enlist? If he is a war president, he shouldn’t have a problem with them enlisting. He should encourage it.
I joined the Army to fight in Desert Storm. H.W. Bush had the brains to get in and get out. H. W. Bush called my unit back when we were 250 meters from Baghdad. Why? Because he had the smarts enough to not start a holy war with the Muslims.
He was also smart enough to fire Karl Rove before he did some stupid shit like out one of his friends at the CIA. At least he went to war in WWII.
Dubya? Nothing. Not a freaking thing. Failed business man. Bad grades in school. Just an all around stupid president. He will always be remember like that. No matter how much of the tax payer money he gives to his wealthy friends.
August 11th, 2005 at 12:09 amI grew up in Vacaville. The Sheehans got a lot of help from the community, but they turned on her. Travis is right down the road. Many disappointed veterans. My friends uncle is Sheehan’s neighbor and WWII Army vet. He was actaully interviewed on tv. Sheehan is upset and lost it. It’s sad. The runour is Moveon got to her. Maybe she was hijacked like was discussed on BO.

Vacaville is about as close to the Bay Area as you can get and still be red neck trailer trash. That explains Stewed Cankersore’s lack of a brain. There are many intelligent “elite” folks there. Cindy Sheehan and her family are obviously among them.

Neocons are the new “commies”. But we call them “connies”. Kill a connie for Christ!
August 11th, 2005 at 12:48 amI speak to no one who supports Bush or identifies as a Republican or a neocon. That includes my entire family, and I will never to speak to them again. That’s how anti-Bush I am.
August 11th, 2005 at 12:53 amWe know that O’Reilly and his ilk will never understand what they truly are, but we ask, “When will all of the American people wake up to see that O’Reilly and all his ilk are nothing more, and nothing less than, terrorists (minus an ideology)?”
We on the ground here think they, O’Reilly and his ilk are demeaning a fallen soldier and have no agenda other than their own pockets! Don’t worry people, many of us at ground zero smell these scum from here. We will continue the fight; we will not stand down on either front until ordered to, as for O’Reilly and Malkin… You are dismissed!

In June 2004 lots of things have not been known that are known now.
Information enables us to change our minds about issues. That is a GOOD thing.

August 11th, 2005 at 9:50 amVERBATIM QUOTES FROM WHEN CLINTON WAS COMMITTING TROOPS TO BOSNIA:
“You can support the troops but not the president.”
—Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)
“Well, I just think it’s a bad idea. What’s going to happen is they’re going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years.”
—Joe Scarborough (R-FL)
“Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?”
—Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/6/99
“[The] President . . . is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation’s armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy.”
—Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)
“American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy.”
—Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)
“If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy.”
—Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W Bush
“I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning . . I didn’t think we had done enough in the diplomatic area.”
—Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)
“I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our over-extended military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today”
—Rep Tom Delay (R-TX)
“Victory means exit strategy, and it’s important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is.”
August 11th, 2005 at 9:55 am—Governor George W. Bush (R-TX)
Can’t we just stick OReilly and the whole administration in a crate and dump it at sea? They are all so arrogant that nothing less will convince them that they’re not demigods.
August 11th, 2005 at 1:19 pmWhat does Sheehan think, that if she shrieks a bunch of lunatic left talking points at the President long enough, we can cut and run from Iraq?
Once again, the lunatic left is stabbing the country in the back just like they did during the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War and the Gulf War.

I sympathize with this woman as we all should, but the fact that she wants to talk to President Bush to ask him why he “killed her son” is terrible. No offense to this woman, but many sons have died in this war, and it was not Bush that killed her son, it was a terrorist. If she was an Iraqi woman in the time of Saddam’s era and she asked of her own president “why did you kill my son?”, then that would be more appropriate considering that Saddam was notorious for killing his own people, as his nickname “The Butcher of Baghdad” implies.
August 11th, 2005 at 6:18 pmWHEN OH WHEN will the american People wake up to the fact that George W. is the most ignorant and incopetant president in American History. I have been a registered republican for almost 50 years but because of George W. I am changing my party affiliation, however, I do realize that any disagreement with him and his warped mind is treasonous and unpatriotic. Americans wake up!! this turkey is not fighting for our freedom he is usurping it each and every minute.
August 11th, 2005 at 6:37 pmI can accept her grief on the death of her son. I am a retired Army officer and just recently our nephew returned from his third tour. What I cannot accept is blaming the President and saying the President killed her son and putting on a spectacle like this when she was not in forefront prior to the death of her son. Like my nephew said when he heard her say the President killed her son, “The President didn’t kill her son, the Muj killed her son.” She is being exploited.
August 11th, 2005 at 6:38 pmthis woman is stupid she has changed her story since the president met with her the first time i hate were in iroq but the president didnt kill her son she just wants to start something!!!!!
August 11th, 2005 at 6:43 pmI am grief stricken over the loss of Pat and Cindy Sheehan fine son, Casey. having lost a child four years ago, I know there is no greater pain. However, I do not blame our President – perhaps if young Casey were drafted and had been turned down for a CO deferrment…My youngest brother returned from his third tour of duty since 9/11 on July 31, 2005. In the fall of 2001, his orders got moved up because of that murderous September Day. My very sweet, very liberal sister-in-law started crying and whining in my kitchen, “I’m soooooo afraid……”. I tried to console her – but she just got more and more hysterical. I was not about to let her get my brother worrying about her any more than he already does. I asked for her help in my pantry, did my best Cher imitation and hollered at her to “snap out of it!!!” I told her she knew what my brother’s job was BEFORE she married him – and she better buck up. (It was not a case of her marrying a brain surgeon who all of the sudden woke up one day and said, “Honey, I think I’d like to live out a dream I’ve had since I was a kid – I’m joining the military!”) Our family has fought in every war since 1860. We have several Gold Star mothers in our clan. The military mom’s beloved by the left are the one’s with dead sons and daughters. They are easier to exploit.
August 11th, 2005 at 7:15 pmI really can’t believe that any mother who has any respect for her son, who died for his country, apparently serving his country under his own free will (seeing that there is no draft…yet) would set out to demolish everything he seemed to believe in. He, Casey, was old enough to make his own decisions, and by joining the military he chose his way of life. By now protesting his death, she is shaming his choices and in some ways showing how ignorant and disrespectful to her son she is. I can’t help but think what he would say to her if he could somehow send her a message. She doesn’t have to accept the way he died, but she must get past it.
August 11th, 2005 at 7:18 pmWhy anyone would believe, that a blue-blood from Kennebunkport, Maine, (who masquerades as a Texan and has close ties to individuals involved in some of the most scandalous crimes in our history, from Savings and Loan to Enron), would have the best interests of the American people at heart, seems incredible to me.
That anyone could believe, that the wholesale murder of hundreds of thousands of human beings can be justified, by bringing such a perverted brand of “democracy” to the world, is insane.
We are in a state of perpetual war (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_war), where the ultimate goal is to wipe out all resistance to the State. This includes Republicans that might disagree too.
I assure you, that the time is coming, when you will have to make the choice between America (The Constitution and Bill of Rights) and utter tyranny (Bush et al).
August 11th, 2005 at 7:55 pmShe is right. Bush should be accountable.
August 11th, 2005 at 7:57 pmWhat an embarassment sheehan is. I bet her son is turning in his grave because of what she is doing. On his own accord he joined the army to help protect the american way. This guy died as an honorable american, and because she get’s tied up with the likes of Michael Moore{ another Traitor}. she’s tarnishing the good name and reputation of her son.he was proud to serve his country unlike his mother.
August 11th, 2005 at 8:18 pmrick m
When Casey Sheehan joined the military, I believe he did it with great conviction and with an understanding of what the risks and possibilities were, as do the majority of, if not all, service men and women.
Casey Sheehan is a hero – the fact that he sacrificed his life for the safety and freedom of his family, his country and others is the greatest gift any person can give.
Cindy Sheehan should feel proud, blessed and honored to have been the mother of such a selfless human being.
Being a mother of three children, two of them boys, I understand she is in pain and is angry about her loss -I cannot relate to it, but I do understand it. There is no greater joy than having a child and the pain of grief over the loss of a child is even greater.
Cindy Sheehan’s recent outrage is not going to improve the conditions of the war nor will her reaction influence the decisions made by the President and our military. Asking President Bush to put himself in her shoes by giving up one of his daughters to war is preposterous. No one WANTS their child to be involved in any type of war, but this is the choice that Casey Sheehan, the adult son of Cindy Sheehan made.
The best thing she can do for herself, the memory of her son and the support of this country’s great military and President is to be thankful that her son was a brave, selfless person. She raised him right. She should be thankful that Casey lived and died a moral upstanding person who loved his family and his country enough to serve and protect them with humility and ultimately his life.
I never knew Casey Sheehan nor do I know his family, but I have great respect for his choice, his honor and his President. If only his mother would do the same.
Thank you Casey Sheehan and all of the military men, women and families that serve, protect and sacrifice their lives for us daily – both at war and at home.
God bless you and God bless America.
August 11th, 2005 at 8:19 pmIf Sheehan be treasonous ,O’Reilly & Malkin, then she
stands on the shoulders of American Giants. I leave you both a quote from a right-wing minister of yesteryear, Theodore Parker, who I beieve you would consider a left-wing radical today:
“We are a rebellious nation. Our whole history is TREASON; our blood was attained before we were born; our creeds were infidelity to the mother church; our constitution TREASON to our fatherland.” Theodore Parker 1810-1860, American Minister
August 11th, 2005 at 9:17 pmOk, now why in the heck is this “mother” of this fine soldier causing such a immature act? I don’t understand. No don’t get me wrong, I respect our military beyond any other, but a soldier doesn’t join the military without knowing the risks. Their decision to stand for their country, despite the risks, and a very heroic act that any person could imagine to do. With this lady protesting, she is disagreeing with what her son gave his life to do. Obviously she doesn’t care very much for her son if she is fighting for what he was so dedicated to do that he had to give his life away. With all do respect, I would be sad if my child died from such an incident, but NEVER would I go against what he join the military for in the first place!
August 11th, 2005 at 9:24 pmThis mother dishonors her son by her actions. He signed up to protect the US and he died for the most honorable right and that was to give freedom to a country that did not have it. She has every God given right to protest and make known her misguided ways as many soldiers died before to defend and give her this right. However, her actions will not bring one soldier home until the job is complete in Iraq. She is kidding herself and everyone else if she does not see that. Spend your time elsewhere as this is beyond unproductive.
August 11th, 2005 at 9:27 pmMom’s unite and support this woman. Give her direction. Make her spontaneous attempt to seek solace and truth an organized endevour to make change. Stand up, get out of the house and drive there and help here. Call a friend, send her supplies, clothes, contacts in the area. Come on! Once a mind is expanded it will never shrink back to it’s original ignorance. The truth is obvious. Help her to let it shine.
August 11th, 2005 at 10:02 pmI am an army wife. My husband is a ranger, preparing for his second tour in Iraq. When he signed up to join the Army, he knew what he was getting himself into. The soldiers job is to protect their country, whether at war or peace. My husband refers to it like a basketball team, when troops are not deployed they are like a player sitting on the bench, waiting to join the game. When they do get to finally play, they are finally doing their job, doing what they joined the army to do. If her son was a truck driver and got killed in a wreck while on duty, would she protest outside the company’s owners house, I would assume not. Everyone does not have to agree with the war, but it is their job. If my husband, God forbid, didn’t make it back from this deployment, yes, I would be greif stricken and mad, but at least I would know that he gave his life defending his country, an honorable death is still a death, but if you died in your sleep tonight, who would you protest then, God?
August 11th, 2005 at 10:20 pmThe sad thing is that April’s husband is not defending his country. As painful as it may be to admit the truth is that the lives lost in Iraq have bben lost in vain. While Bush’s cronies in Halburton and company have cleaned up, Iraq have become the number one training and recruting ground for Al Queda. This war is based on lies and falsehoods. Not one more life should be lost on this fiasco. We should Impeach Bush & Cheny and bring trhe troops home now!
August 11th, 2005 at 10:54 pmHow ridiculous! Did someone hold a gun to her sons head and say “enlist”. President Bush killed my son? Obviously her grieving is misdirected and out of control. She needs therapy and perhaps medication.
That’s like saying John F. Kennedy killed all the American Soldiers in Vietnam, because he started it.
Thank God Nixon ended it.
Cindy Sheehan’s son was not drafted.
Case closed.
Geez the democrat press pushing this story shows how desperate they are.
Wait till Hillary has to start fielding questions about how the Clintons knew about Mohammed Atta and his cell a year before 9/11.
August 11th, 2005 at 11:01 pmThere will be no Hillary in 2008.
My heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Sheehan on the lost of her son. Does Mrs Sheehan remember when her son informed her that he had enlisted in Americas all volunter Army. How proud she probably was.Her assertion that G.Bush killed her son is ludicrous and no she shouldn’t get an opprotunity to further castigate the President.Mrs Sheehan mourns the loss a fallen HERO as all True Americans do But it wasn’t George Bush or GOD that is responsible for his demise Those that claim to be messengers of The Most holy Allah are the murderous scumof of Iraq are to blame. Ithank my GOD for people like Mrs Sheehan’s son and I will pray for her and wish her and all mothers, that have sons that serve so gallantly.
August 11th, 2005 at 11:18 pmBush and his gang of thugs are criminals, worse than serial killers. Ergo, if you support any of his criminal endeavors, you are a criminal. It is a guilt which will follow you to your grave, whether that be in Iraq (among the 100,000 or so innocent civilians slaughtered there by Bush the Butcher) or hiding behind your ignorance supporting the Butcher in blogs like these.
August 11th, 2005 at 11:21 pmShe has met with Bush and others in the cabinet. She would have more credibility if she did this on her own and not be compromised by moveon.org.
Her anger is heartfelt. Any mother or father would grieve for their son or daughter.
But,does her grief and anger carry more weight than those other parents who have lost sons and daughters and support the military action?
If her son enlisted because he felt a duty to his country, what would he be thinking now?
August 11th, 2005 at 11:40 pmDon’t any of these people have jobs. Seriously, is this really the best way to spend your life after your son sacrifices his for the country he LOVES enough to enlist to do a job NOT EVERYONE can understand or IS WILLING TO DO????? This is ridiculous. And Bush know is it. AND that is why he wont meet with her. She should be spending her FREE time volunteering with other families who have experienced loss like hers. Instead of standing around waiting for our president to answer questions we ALL already know the answers to. I mean, no one forced her son to enlist, right? HE did it of his own FREE will. The very FREEDOM we are fighting for for the people of IRAQ. He knew that the job he chose to do could possible cost him is life and he STILL signed on the dotted line. HE did. NOT his mother…so Bush owes her nothing. How dare she tant her son wonderful legacy with cry for political self gain. HOW DARE SHE. Her own family has taken a stand against her and has exposed her for the fraud that she is. She makes me sick. You know, you Liberals cry human right ALL the time, but when it your boys dying for it your cry changes to “why are WE dying for the liberation of another people.” That proves what hypocrites you ALL are. If you really cared you would realized that in order for these people to be FREE, just like you are, some one is going to have to step up and help them. Thank God we have a president who is willing to do that for the better good of another people
August 12th, 2005 at 1:31 amTo all you right wing nuts out there. When you lose a child just to free a bunch of ragheads, then shut your pie hole…you have no idea what this woman is going through. She believed in the chimp until she like most people see that the invasion of iraq is a waste of time and a waste of human life.
August 12th, 2005 at 6:08 amRight-wing chicken hawks like Bill, GW, Cheney and Michell disrespect vets and approve of cutting their benefits, exposing them to Agent Orange and now depleted uranium. Is it any wonder they trash dead vets and their families. I say draft the chickenhawks, if they are killed what’s the loss? Nothing. There would be lots of military trial for cowardice though.
August 12th, 2005 at 9:35 amIt’s easy for these Right-wing, rabid neo-conservatives to try and discredit a grieving mother, a large portion of a nation that wants to live in a world of peace and understanding, and a few thoughtful politicians actually trying to make a difference in people’s lives. The simple solution is to send them off to their favorite wars. Instead of listening to these chicken hawks rant and rave, why don’t they join the Army reserve, even the National Guard, and go off and find out what their wars are really like. Michelle Malkin sits in her nice little suburban room, appreciating the freedom provided to her by the same constitution that she ironically spends her time shredding to the very last sentence. Thank you again Malkin, for showing us just how ignorant and moronic some of the people in this country are.
August 12th, 2005 at 3:18 pmIt’s funny that Malkin “knows” what Casey Sheehan would and would not approve of. Where does this “Anak ti buaya” (Ilocano for “child of an crocodile”) think she is? Some psychic contacting Casey from beyond the grave? Cindy Sheehan has said on the Ed Schultz show that Casey didn’t approve of this war. Nonetheless, he went and was subsequently killed.
From information that I’ve found about Malkin, she doesn’t seem to have served in the military. Maybe it’s because she chose not to. She’s entitled to her own choices, in action and in words. She paints Cindy Sheehan as someone who hasn’t gotten over the grieving process. I think that Cindy has gotten passed that and is preaching what she has learned from the experience and she’s gathered others to her side to get the point across. Journalist or whatever, Malkin’s message is heard more often but Cindy’s is one that mother’s for millenia have understood.
I only hope that for Malkin’s sake she experiences such grief and that she comes from it and “know”. Here’s a saying for you Malkin, “No ania ti imulam, isu ti apitem”. Whatever you sow, it’s the same that you reap.
She’s called those who support Cindy Sheehan as “Anti-American” for protesting(http://www.michellemalkin.com/). It’s apparent that she supports discrimination as she SUPPORTS internment during WWII. So, I would think that she would intern Muslim Americans or at least Iraqi Americans. So, would she be willing to be interred because she is of Filipino descent and that she or her family “might” have ties with the Filipino terrorist group Abu Sayyaf?
How easily does she forget that she too is a child of a minority group and like all those who are descendents of the “newer” immigrants that she too will be subjected to the same discrimination. Always know that you’re an American, Michelle, but it will only take a second for someone else to tell you otherwise.
August 12th, 2005 at 4:53 pmMy heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Sheehan on the lost of her son. August 12th, 2005 at 10:33 pmSHEEHAN, YOU GO GIRL.I LOVE THE WAY YOUR MAKING THE ENTIRE RIGHTWING FASCIST EXTREMISTS IN THIS COUNTRY FROM BUSH, THE GOP IN CONGRESS ALONG WITH RUSH, HANNITY, AND FOX NEWS SWEAT AND SQUIRM BY ASKING THE BIG QUESTION THE RIGHT WING JUST CANT ANSWER. WHICH IS WHY WERE ARE SOLDIERS TOLD BY BUSH THEY WERE GOING TO BE SENT TO WAR AGAINST IRAQ BECAUSE THEY WERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE 911 ATTACK AND POSED AND IMMEDIATE DANGER TO THE U.S. WITH WMD’S WHEN ALL OF THESE REASONS FOR WAR HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO BE UNJUSTIFIED AND A BUNCH OF LIES. THIS UNJUSTIFIED ILLEGAL WAR BUSH STARTED WHEN WE SHOULD OF BEEN GOING AFTER BIN LADEN THE MAN WHO DID ATTACK US ON 911, HAS COST AMERICA 2000 DEAD & 14,000 INJURED DISABLED AMERICAN SOLDIERS, AND 200 BILLION WASTED TAX DOLLARS. IT HAS ALSO COST IRAQ 25,000 TO 1000,000 DEAD CITIZENS EVEN THOUGH HYPOCRITICALLY BUSH PROMISED OUR INVASION WOULD HELP REDUCE IRAQ CITIZEN DEATHS BY RIDDING IT OF THE EVIL KILLER SADDAM.WITH FRIENDS LIKE THIS WHO NEEDS ENEMIES. SO I WOULD LIKE TO THANK SHEEHAN AND WISH HER GOOD LUCK AND HOPE WITH HER LEADERSHIP, WE CAN IMPEACH THIS CLOWN IN OFFICE. AFTERALL IF CLINTON COULD BE IMPEACHED FOR A TINY AFFAIR THAT DID NOT KILL OR INJURE ANY BODY BUSH CAN EASILY BE IMPEACHED FOR THIS DISASTER IN IRAQ THAT HAS COST THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT AMERICAN AND IRAQ DEATHS.
August 12th, 2005 at 10:59 pmComment #8 above on O’Reilly needs to add all of these assholes. Can we keep a chart on the day of their deaths? I’d add one line to the below:
“And I will piss on your grave”
“Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul
And I hope that you die
And your death’ll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I’ll watch while you’re lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I’ll stand o’er your grave
‘Til I’m sure that you’re deadâ€

August 13th, 2005 at 2:41 pmWOW, What an angry uninformed bunch!
August 14th, 2005 at 1:51 amCiny Sheehan is a woman absolutely paralyzed by grief and that is being exploited by the media. Shame on all who are encouraging her in her time of morning.
What she is doing is not in the least bit productive. This war will not end because Cindy Sheehan says so. We will be in Iraq until the Iraqi army can fend for themselves. They will have to step up to the plate soon enough. We as a country need to give them a chance. We are there and cannot leave until they can stand on their own.
The soldiers there need our support. I for one know of two Marines that went back to Iraq after serving their time. They know how importent this is. I have a cousin that has completed boot camp. She, yes SHE is leaving soon. She has seen all sides of the controversy. She is making an educated descision. This country is a better place because of our serviceman.
Casey Sheehan, God Bless his Soul, served his country honorably. His life and death are not in vain. I can only imagine that he would be disapointed in his Mom, as serviceman are typically loyal to their brothers still serving.
Cindy Sheehan needs to get grief counceling and do something productive to honor her Sons’ memory.

does anyone remember Holden Caufield’s room mate in “Catcher in the Rye”? He was forceful and popular, but Holden knew him well and said that under the great exterior, clothes and all, he wore dirty underwear. Bill “dirty shorts” O’Reilly
August 14th, 2005 at 11:57 amOutside looking in!
O’Reilly needs to learn to keep his pants on before he is allowed to pass judgement. He is a two-bit hypocrit…excuse me, make that a one-bit hypocrit. I don’t want to give him too much credit. This also goes for many of his supporters.
August 14th, 2005 at 12:39 pmDid anyone read this page http://www.militarycity.com/valor/257123.html that says that Casey volunteered to go on the mission. In fact, mom Cindy said that she was told her son told his CO, “if my unit goes, I go.” when he was told he wasn’t going. (he was a mechanic).
Did anyone know that Casey re-enlisted BECAUSE he didn’t get to go to Iraq the first time?
Please pray for Cindy. Her marriage is severely in danger and she seems to be “stuck” in grief. She has other children that need her. Casey died a hero, not a duped cow-town kid, let his GOOD name be known.
August 15th, 2005 at 10:43 pmCindy Sheehan is an American hero. In the future, the truth will be known by all. The war in Iraq is based on lies, lies, and more lies.
August 16th, 2005 at 1:26 pm[...] The right wing has called everything from a pawn of the left, a liar to saying she spouts sinister piffle. They even call her a traitor, even saying her son wouldn’t approve. Brendan Nyhan has a good post on this topic. [...]
August 16th, 2005 at 5:56 pmWhile I can sympathize with any mother that has lost a child, Cindy Sheehan dishonors her son and all the other sons and daughters that lost their lives in any war. Her son was not kidnapped. He joined the service because that is what HE wanted to do. YOU do not speak for him. He is probably rolling over in his grave watching you. You had your audience with the President already. There is nothing else to say. Go home Cindy and deal with your grief in another way. This is NOT about your son anymore, it is political sabotage. And, it is all ABOUT YOU. YOU. YOU. Stop stalking the president. Support our troops who have put their lives on the line or go live in some other country if you are so unhappy with what the President is doing. I support our troops and am proud of all of them. I support our President. He thinks he is doing the right thing. There are many people who do not support you. GO DO SOMETHING THAT HELPS OTHERS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO GET RICH ON YOUR SON’S SACRIFICE. THIS IS JUST TEARING DOWN OUR TROOPS. PATRIOTIC IN NEW JERSEY
August 16th, 2005 at 10:08 pmJerseyMom:
So, to sum up:
[1] Sheenan’s dead son wouldn’t like the woman who gave birth to him because she is trying to stop the war he died in. That rat-fink be-yatch.
[2] You are clarivoyant and can channel her son. He loved the war.
[3] Supporting the troops to you means devotion to their commander.
[4] You had a kid, so you also are a mom. You live in New Jersey.
My side of it:
Everything is political, get over it.
I am patriotic, and in being patriotic I demand freedom of speech even for those who say I’m a jerk.
Our troops WANT to come home. They realize Iraq is a quagmire. The country will dissolve into civil war anyway.
We need toadies like you for the police state to come (August 17th-19th anyone?)
August 17th, 2005 at 4:15 amI don’t expect anything else but chest thumping rhetoric from Bull O’Really. His comments are a given. What is interesting is that this episode once again shows GW’s
August 18th, 2005 at 9:20 amapparent lack of real compassion and plain stubbornness.
To end the hoopla, all he had to do was send a couple of his aids to bring Cindy over to the “compound” and take a walk with her, maybe even give her a tour. He could of listened to what this woman wanted to say. That would have gone a long way. He would have appeared much more compassionate and caring. Unfortunately, the people who he has surrounded himself to provide advise have told him not to talk with her. THAT is the real problem with this Administration. GW only does what he is told. He doesn’t appear to have much capacity for real thought. Cheney, Rove and the rest of them really run the show and use George as their mouth piece. When GW goes off the script, he looks like an idiot and they always have to do damage control.
To comment on the war,, I supported it at the beginning with trepidation. I thought that he must know something that we don’t. I decided to trust him because he was the president afterall. He has our welfare at stake, right? There must really be WMD’s sitting there in the desert and Saddam must be planning to use them in some way. But it all turned out to be a big fk’n lie. They say it was bad intelligence. It turns out Chenny, Bolton, Rumsfeld and others had planned the policy that led to the conflict even before Bush was elected.
I am sorry that I decided to trust the man. Of course, if all those nutjobs hadn’t elected him ( er,, stole the election but that’s another story), I wouldn’t have to be sitting here apologizing.
And to Jersey Mom,,, you are another example of the programmed walking brain dead around this country. I chuckle when you say” He thinks he is doing the right thing.” We all know GW doesn’t have an original thought in his head. And I suppose you agree with the nutjob who ran over all the crosses. Now there is someone who is supporting the troops. That idiot probably listened to the BS O’Really show, got mad and decided to go do the right thing.
Mrs. Shehann:
I am sorry for your loss. However you have made this a media circus for your own vendictive agenda. There is nothing divine or special calling from heaven on your stand. Your are a sad example of an American, your are not any different than the uncle of Elian Gonzales who wanted to capitalize on the event. Enjoy your five minutes of fame, and remember you are destroying the proud memories of your son and brave soldier.
Sincerely,

Cindy’s son is a hero…
Cindy is an asshole…
August 19th, 2005 at 12:17 amI’m sorry for her loss also, but anybody who thinks our national policy should be based on the emotions of a grieving mother is an idiot. Anyone who advocates unconditionally bringing the troops home is willing to accept failure in this battle at the cost of his own freedom. If we turned and ran out of Iraq, the Vietnam comparison would finally be accurate: The United States deserts an ally (South Vietnam/newly elected iraqi government) after promising support, millions die (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and now Iraq) in a vengeful bloodbath. Anyone who thinks the U.S. leaving Iraq would mean “peace” has very little grasp on the current situation or history. It is also an indication of how spoiled the left is – if the going gets hard, just walk away.
August 25th, 2005 at 4:29 pmIt confounds me that so many on the right are unable to grasp the idea that we who are against this war, are quite capable of feeling respect for our soldiers but at the same time feel disgust over this war and our incompetent, impeachable president. WE have the intelligence to differntiate between the two.
I feel sorry for our soldiers, who’s lives were so carelessy and callously tossed into a pit of hell by a president the doesn’t realize the real cost of war.
The blood of our soldiers is on Bush’s hands, he sent them to this war based on lies. The president dishonors them most of all.

August 31st, 2005 at 8:50 amABORTION ON DEMAND
September 8th, 2005 at 12:38 amBush should have been ABORTED
September 8th, 2005 at 12:40 amI don’t care if you are liberal or conservative, using your dead son’s grave stone as a political soapbox for your own self aggrandizement is pretty low.
September 25th, 2005 at 9:23 amI can’t believe this. I’ve read one person saying Michelle Malkin should be interned(that happened to the Japanese, she’s a filipina) another one refers to her as a “gook”. You people rattle off about how a good conservative is a dead one, you preach all kinds of violence call republicans chickenhawks but don’t remember Bill Clinton being one as well. I’m a left leaning independent, who left the Democrats because of Clinton’s anti-union legislation and the fellow democrats going along with it, but I can’t believe this racist violent rhetoric
November 13th, 2005 at 5:47 pmpersonally I don’t care what the rest of the world thinks. These people saw the heads off of innocent people and demand butchery and beheadings for insulting cartoons. The same thing they would do to Cindy Sheehan if she were over there…Yet we SMEAR HER..ohhhhh What barbarians we are.. gimme a break and wake up
