What is a little irritating is the comment “and this comes from conservatives,” as though similar comments from liberals would not be given credence. The fact that liberals and independents find her mean spirited and aggressive should be taken equally seriously. Furthermore, the fact that she is simply inaccurate and wrong should matter as well.
I am just waiting for the zombies to call for a boycott of the Arizona Daily…wouldn’t put it past them…especially for wrinkling the sheets…HOW DARE THEY!!
She’s loud, arrogant, and totally wrong on virtually every issue. Despite her own belief to the contrary, she is also fundamentally not attractive to men.
I agree with you ohdave, but in this age
of “my side right or wrong” partisanship,
things only register with the “team” when
members start to speak up.
Back in February, Wonkette ran a piece about how Ann Coulter had already been replaced as the conservative uber-chick during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
As much as I enjoyed hearing this news, this will just give those like Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly one more argument about the “liberal” media silencing *their* point of view. I’m sure they’ll gloss over the fact that it was based on the conservative readers wishes.
I get real tired of this liberal media bias I hear so much about. If the “liberals” controlled the media, as we’re told, the Clinton – Monica scandal wouldn’t have gotten any coverage at all.
Being a Tucson Daily Star subscriber I can now read the opinion page on Saturday without danger of throwing up! I had many, many friends cancel their subscription to the paper because of Ann Coulter. I’ve personally written a letter to the editor correcting her mis-information efforts each week. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one! I’m sure the the flood of letters against her rubbish was overwhelming. Maybe Americans have seen enough of the in your face lies and smears to begin to ask for real political insight materials…. well, one can hope!
I’m not going to engage in the Schadenfraude game here. But neither do I feel pity for her, either … I kind of figured she had lost it when she declared, in Canada, that Canada supported the Vietnam War. (It didn’t.)
Coulter was spiraling out of control, and last week’s comments about New Yorkers being too willing to “surrender” to the terrorists, on FNC’s “Hannity and Colmes,” may have the final straw for many. I hope other papers take the hint from the Daily Star and show her the door, too.
I suppose she’ll still have her website, but I suspect the traffic there too will take a hit, even if a minor one, as a result of this announcement.
Oh, and Jon, I wouldn’t be too hard to her on the attractive part … if she wasn’t married, Rush would dump Daryn Kagin for her in a New York minute.
you guys want a big laugh? go to NEDs blog spot.its hilarious. http://northeastdilemma.blogspot.com/ (he likes pop music like me,and his favorite author is Ann Coulter, i sh*t you not)
Well, I’m all over the board on this one. I prefer Wonkette’s take on Ann Coulter as it usually involves drinking, decrepit behaviour or various sex acts I won’t go into.
Ann is a deeply psycotic & twisted soul. She will make any cause she claims to champion look bad. I can only imagine that the right wingnut generals saw a (bottle) “blond” woman who ranted righty venom & thought she could help them. They must have made their impressions while the sound was turned off because if they listened to her for 1 minute they would have known she’s a cracked pot. Who knows? Me, I don’t think she’s even remotely cute, but the righties seem to love her.
Does she help progressives? She would if righties would hold her accountable. They uniformly don’t. So I guess removing one more syndication check is really in our best interests.
I would love to see her holding a sign out in front of Walmart saying she will rant for food.
#18 gets my vote (which is, of course, electronically rigged into a four figure total)because the image of Ms. Coulter in front of a Wal-Mart with that sign. I do not disparage any of the other nineteen, but the picture made me laugh out loud, startling my large dog. #12’s use of “rubbish” works in the right direction, away from the sexual twists, for Ms. Coulter, having a gender but not a sex, should not be held accountable on that score.
It couldn’t have happened to a better witch. She, however, will spin it as another attempt by the so-called “librul” media to assail the virtuous Right.
It could be, might be, perhaps, maybe, that the court of public opinion is beginning to turn against the vitriolic, hate-filled rants that emanate from so many on the Right.
When I see that the Right and their sheeple can turn a peace-seeking, bereaved mother into a Nazi-loving, anti-American fascist, I believe they have crossed the line in the collective minds of the public.
Could it be possible that the tiny cracks we are seeing here and there are indicative of a soon-to-be implosion on the Right? It couldn’t happen too quickly for the country.
“Arizona Daily dumps Ann Coulter.”
Interesting choice of words, as “dump,” as you know, is also the street term that refers to defecation, or squeezing turds out of one’s butt cheeks, deposting same into the sewer system where it belongs. The wording regarding Coulter couldn’t have been more perfect.
“Arizona Daily Start DUMPS Ann Coulter.” Plop! Plop!
The fact that Ann Coulter is syndicated anywhere for anything speaks to how much we’ve degraded as a society.
With sincere apologies to the ladies and the men that cringe at the word….she’s a lying c*nt, and about the only person on the planet that I would use that word to describe.
This is absolutely my favorite story of the day. I was signing “Ding dong the witch is dead” all day.
Hopefully, more newpapers will follow. But sadly, they won’t the “liberal media” is a fallicy. The media is for the most part controlled by the right. Only a handful of media outlets are controlled by the left.
This will be viewed as “Look at those left wing whackos, don’t they know that Anne Coulter is a goddess? How will America survive without her?”
I cannot by any stretch get my thinking around Coulter as mentally deficient. She is crazy the way Robertson, Colson, Cheney, Limbaugh, O’Connell, and DeLay are crazy, which not a clinical condition at all. She has seen the monetary value of saddling up with the Apocalypse Cavalry Battalion for three squares, a flop, and all the bonuses that acrew to those who ride hard for pillaging and villifying. It is not a distant trumpet that calls this gangly strumpet. Oh no, it is the fine pay and public acclaim that makes her such a stand-up guy. Besides, if she were crazy, she would not understand what we hope is shaping her future. May she have to find her way around in the darkness of a permanent power outage. Hey, the baggage inspires me.
Its ironic that Ann was dumped for being “Shrill, bombastic and mean spirited” yet reading a large percentage of the above negative comments, I find they are delivered in just that tone. A lot of people fail to distinguish the truth claims of the content of spoken (or written) opinion apart from the style in which it is delivered. With that in mind, thumbs up to Ann for at least engaging us with material that is factually supported and based on induction, even if delivered sarcastically, as opposed to a lot of her liberal detractors whose arguments tend to be in large part emotion-driven and ad homonym at best. Further, I bet she’d be great in bed, and Rudy Canoza would be proud to do the la la la ( PH show reference ).

You people are sick and twisted. Since this article was first posted Ann has thrived. You and your pathetic little rag have withered on the vine. Ann has gone on to MUCH bigger and better. You are all still bitter little kool-aide drinkers and the Daily Star is still a two bit small town liberal rag.
Maybe the tide really IS turning.
August 29th, 2005 at 2:51 pmThis is a very positive sign that people
are starting to want more than just smear.
Good for them.
Finally someone throwing water on the witch. May she melt back into the stem cells from which she came.
August 29th, 2005 at 2:52 pmCitizen – I would think she’d melt into a puddle of bile, teeth and barbed wire.

August 29th, 2005 at 3:49 pmFoxNoneNews – still alive and spewing lies
Shaun Hannity – still alive and spewing lies
Rush “Still On Pain Meds” Limbaugh – still alive and spewing lies
Ann Coulter – … hey, now _this_ is good news. It couldn’t have happened to a better person. :-)

August 29th, 2005 at 7:56 pmSometimes you just have to use a really strong and vile word to describe a vile person.
My guess is that the HO will have to move to Amsterdam and work in the red light district.
I’m glad the ol haggy HO is going down. She’s a disgrace to America.

August 29th, 2005 at 11:30 pmLet’s hope this becomes a national trend and her hate-filled, misinformed rants will be relegated to Faux news; that way I won’t see her.
