Good news from Louisiana.

Good news from Louisiana.

Gov. Blanco has appointed Clinton-era FEMA director James Lee Witt as her special advisor. Unlike the current FEMA chief Michael Brown, Witt actually came to the job with experience in emergency management.

Bravo! The Clinton administration has to pick up the pieces AGAIN!

Now if we only get the Clinton administration to take over the war in Iraq.

  2. Scott says:

“Incompetent Red Government fails Red State.” (Newt) urged Bush to name former New York Mayor Rudolph
    Giuliani
… Translation: Hey Chimpy, we’re not exactly impressed with your reconstruction of Iraq. We think it would be nice if conditions in New Orleans would actually improve. We don’t need another Vietnam, and we certainly don’t need another Iraq.

  3. wisedup says:

oh my…the ‘bushies’ blood must boiling with this one…..”Someone stepped out of line!” Dictators hate that.

  4. jwb says:

The Democrats should just take over and pretend the Bush admin doesn’t really exist.

  5. Susan says:

No Scott, I dont want Tommy Franks or Collin Powell to take over. They are Bushie lapdogs/traitors and nothing will get done.

Gindrich is playing both sides by admitting Bushie is a failure yet suggesting other failures to take over.

Every time I see Guilliani he is drunk. Send him to detox.

  6. cynical ex-hippie says:

Now if we could get Bush to turn over the rest of his responsibilities to a real President, we’d all be happy. Bush could ride his bike and let someone competent run the country.

Tell me why the red state hicks thought Bush would do a good job as President? Did they simply choose ideology over reality?

  7. wisedup says:

    They called the communists: REDS…hmmmmmm

I see a nice flow of BLUE assending upon us.
Forget partys and just check our this: Fix America First…a nice proposial from a man named Furtik…http://democrats.com/

  8. Susan says:

CANCEL THE SEPT. 11TH FREEDOM MARCH!

How could anyone march for freedom when so many will be suffering.
So many people being detained at the Convention Center for no reason.

The march was a joke before but now its travesty.

    There is no freedom.

  9. Scott says:

I’m certainly not endorsing Giuliani, I just found it refreshing to see that even the Red Team is starting to realize that maybe, just maybe, the Chickenhawk In Chief is as incompetent as those of us in the reality-based world have known all along.

  10. Susan says:

I know Scott, but you have to watch Gindrich. Can you see how he’s playing both sides by replacing the failure with a failure? He hasn’t suggested that someone who opposes Bushie take over the relief effort.

  11. Susan says:

Or someone who’s is neutral and just wants to help.

By Nancy Imperiale / Orlando Sentinel

As a flooded New Orleans sinks further into despair, up to 500 Florida airboat pilots have volunteered to rescue Hurricane Katrina victims, transport relief workers and ferry supplies.

But they aren’t being allowed in. And they’re growing frustrated.

“We cannot get deployed to save our behinds,” said Robert Dummett, state coordinator of the Florida Airboat Association. He said the pilots, who range from commercial airboat operators to weekend pleasure boaters, “are physically sick, watching the New Orleans coverage and knowing that the resources to help these poor people is sitting right in our driveways.”

On standby since Monday, the pilots — many from Central Florida — have spent thousands of their own dollars stocking their boats and swamp buggies with food, water, medical supplies and fuel.

But the Federal Emergency Management Agency will not authorize the airboaters to enter New Orleans. Without that permission, they would be subject to arrest and would not receive security and support services.

Clinton’s team to the rescue again! Anytime fly boy needs help, he calls on Clinton.
I wonder how Rummy can carry off his pro-war-march on the 11th, designed to conflate 9/11 with Iraq once again, as support for the debacle in Iraq is losing public support. Funny how their nomenclature is so perverted: Freedom March – is pro-war.
Clear Skies is clearing skies of birds and butterflies.
No Child left Behind leaves no child unscathed.
    Perverts!
I hope his march is a flop – but there will always be blind Bush-lovers around – but I hope the march against Bush on 9/24 in front of the White House will exceed our highest hopes. Perhaps the events of this week will have enraged even more people to join us in DC on the 24th.

  13. Sharon Cox says:

Does any one here remember, Knewt’s happen when 63% of the voters don’t vote and Bushes trive on lies. The voters were out baught by money and lies. mass media and lieing by suposed faith based Pat Robertson type millionairs on their telavansalism stations. We are about to take back our money, power, air ways and people. These relegious groups are rich and should be taxed like big business should be. Notice I said should be. When we have gotten all our people out of the prison they are in down south then we can start with the good stuff. Notice it’s the small groups doing the most, Jesse Jackson’s group, Quietly the Salvation Army has been laboring. Help all you can and let’s get ready for the trials against the liers and thieves. No one in America or around the world should suffer. Be part of the solution, please.

  14. Marie says:

Do not trust Gingrich – he is a turd. He divorced his wife for his l’amour while his wife was dying of cancer. He’s married three times – so much for family values.
To the thread: Clinton had a lot of good people working in hs administration regardless of what some may have thought of him personally — he ran an effective White House. When Bushie threw them all out, he was sealing our fate. Bushie kept Tenet, however, at the request of his father GHW Bush.
Any of them who see the disasters that occurred after they left would have the integrity to try to jump back in with their expertise in this time of need.

  15. Pablo in Mexico says:

The guv appointing Witt as he special assistant is a direct slap in the face to bushie. Hope it gets some press.

  16. Susan says:

    I agree Pablo in Mexico.

  17. afterthought says:

This is good on two counts:
    1) This guy WILL get busy and do what
needs to be done. That’s the most importatant
    thing.
    2) That it bugs the “vacationer in chief”
    is just a bonus.

The reality is that if you wanted to get the
job done, you really HAD to avoid anyone
associated with Bush. I know this sound
mean (not that I care), but he seems to
    have collected the biggest collection
of no-accounts in history as cronies.
I guess that tells you something about his
    character.
    M. Ivins told us from the beginning, so it
    should be no surprise.

  18. cynical ex-hippie says:

I think the fact that the FEMA director’s previous management experience was overseeing horse shows (this admin is all about dog and pony shows) and got the job through his college roomate. Now that needs some attention.

And the whole dismantling of FEMA thing. Turns out it was kind of important after all. I guess “nobody could forsee” a natural disaster killing thousands who might have been saved with proper preparedness.

  19. afterthought says:

    Hey ex-hippy,

    You have that very right:
I nothing happens, you can put inept
people in charge. It is a HUGE risk
AND terrible leadership, but if nothing
    happens the mistake is hidden.
The problem is that when it all goes
wrong, it is hard to hide the incompetence.
This is the situation where Chimpy finds
himself. I’m not worried though, I am sure
that worse comes to worse, Daddy will get
him a job at Carlyle (Sp.?).

  20. Hank says:

Of course Newt and the Repugs want Guiliani to step in and become the hero. He’s the next president for 2008 if they can pull that off. As for the democrats, I hate to say it, but Dean and Pelosi are not measuring up with counter punches. In fact, I have yet to hear from either one of them—I guess they are too busy worrying about Boulton. Might as well let Frist, Delay, and Rove call the shots here.
