insists he is well-qualified to lead the nation’s disaster response agency – though he spent his time before joining the Federal Emergency Management Agency probing whether a breeder was performing liposuction on a horse’s rear end,” the New York Daily News reports. (Via AmericaBlog)
uh…huh..huh
you said lip-o-suck-tion
uh…huh..huh
September 7th, 2005 at 7:45 pmYou folks on the left can’t handle the fact that the people who got out alive, even with the delay, are so happy to be alive that they don’t care to comlain. Not that I am implying there is much to complain about, but the fact also remains that there really is no problem according to the polls.
September 7th, 2005 at 7:49 pmHey stan the skel
Don’t post the same thing twice, it shows what a suck ass you are, opps, meant liposuckass.
September 7th, 2005 at 7:56 pmI guess when you are going to work for Bush having experience working with a horse’s ass is a big plus.
September 7th, 2005 at 7:59 pmStan,
I don’t know where you are getting your figures from, but ALL of the ones I can find on Google are DOWN for Bush. 50+% disapproval for handling of Katrina.. Even the Fox news polls are down…
I guess people were just in shock when it happened, and now they are disgusted…
Z.
September 7th, 2005 at 8:01 pmA little humor…
http://swiftreport.blogs.com/news/2005/09/bush_to_tap_mic.html
In a surprise move, sources close to the White House say that President Bush will soon announce that he wants FEMA head Michael “Brownie” Brown to replace Justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court. Conservatives are cheering the decision, maintaining that Mr. Brown’s experience overseeing judges at horse shows will suit him well once he joins the highest court in the land.
September 7th, 2005 at 8:02 pmStan, are you fucking kidding me. You, like Bush probably don’t watch TV, read the newspaper or any other news source.
But I will tell you this, the world is laughing at us right now. Oh yeah, we are getting help from the governments of many countries, but the citzens are literally laughing at us. They are not laughing at or national crisis, they are laughing at the fact that we haven’t stormed the White House and hung Bush and his cohorts from the closest tree.
This is the truth whether you want to believe it or not. So, you go ahead and keep thinking that people aren’t complaining. They are. You keep thinking that you right wingers will stay in power, you won’t. You keep living in your bubble, we won’t.
September 7th, 2005 at 8:04 pmMichael Brown should be fired because he was not qualified for this job. He only got this job because he was one of Bushie buddies. He ran a horse show. Bushie declared this a National Emergency on the 8-27-05 and Fema should of had the troops ready to go with food and water.
September 7th, 2005 at 8:05 pmGot news for ya. Not everyone who supports Bush WORKS for Bush. I consider the percentages to be partisan, Zwack.
September 7th, 2005 at 8:08 pmStan
September 7th, 2005 at 8:13 pmWhy do you right wing aholes come here and say stupid things. Probably cause even your righty friends can’t stomach you. So move along.
F”k the right wing aholes that come here, F”k Bush and Rumsfeld – they’re all talking out their asses
Interview with Charmaine Neville http://www.counterpunch.org/
“Alligators were eating people. They had all kinds of stuff in the water. They had babies floating in the water.
We had to walk over hundreds of bodies of dead people. People that we tried to save from the hospices, from the hospitals and from the old-folks homes. I tried to get the police to help us, but I realized they were in the same straits we were. We rescued a lot of police officers in the flat boat from the 5th district police station. The guy who was in the boat, he rescued a lot of them and brought them to different places so they could be saved.”
September 7th, 2005 at 8:23 pminterview
September 7th, 2005 at 8:28 pmStan, its about time someone on the right showed up here with some facts. Being one of Bush’s supporters myself, I haven’t found much to cheer about lately. I could use some backup here with your polling information you offer up on #2.
Correct me if I’m wrong but the polls I have seen, like Rassmussen showing Bush’s approval ratings TODAY at 45% vs. 54% disapporval, and that is on the high side: Gallup has him at an even 40%. Of course, I’m with you and only wondering what poll you use. Hey, what do you think about that turncoat Bill O’Reilly who’s even carping about Bush’s sorry leadership? Is he a prick or what?
September 7th, 2005 at 8:34 pmCP – Thanks for that video link
September 7th, 2005 at 8:36 pmMike Brown, Bush, Chertoff ARE disasters.
Dump em all in the sewage laden waters off NO
September 7th, 2005 at 8:43 pmwith bush in power, who needs terrorists
September 7th, 2005 at 8:46 pmCountdown had a nice segment about poll numbers accompanied by a video montage.
September 7th, 2005 at 8:57 pmDumb troll: while survivors rejoice for an unlikely escape against the odds of nature and a criminal government, thanks for pointing out that the people on this blog are not forgetting the thousands who died unnecessarily. In their memory, justice will be done upon the criminals. Amen.
September 7th, 2005 at 9:04 pmMichael Brown’s key qualification: Florida election fixer.
September 7th, 2005 at 9:05 pmI see Bush congraulating Brown and telling he is doing one heck of a job. If Bush any idea the job Brown was doing he would have fired him on the spot. He should have said a lousey job instead just a negative HECK.
September 7th, 2005 at 9:14 pmWhy is this particular site so infected with idiot trolls? Is it on some RNC or Freeperville list?
September 7th, 2005 at 9:15 pmIt would appear, nobody, that the trolls
September 7th, 2005 at 9:20 pmare pretty worried.
Hey Stan, here’s a little cartoon. Be sure to watch it until the end, you’ll hear from one of your happy survivors. Okay?
http://sfgate.com/comics/fiore/
Blame game, what went wrong AND what went right — those are the two most repeated phrases in the Bush admin right now. Unless Karl Rove has a dirty political trick to bring back the dead, Bush is history.
September 7th, 2005 at 9:26 pmHey ex-hippy,
I don’t see where you are coming from.
September 7th, 2005 at 9:37 pmMaybe agenda gets slowed, but who is gonna
hold anyone accountable in the clown shop?
Bush will be impeached before 2008.
September 7th, 2005 at 9:48 pmOh, I get it.
September 7th, 2005 at 9:58 pmFirst the good guys win the house and senate
in 2006 and THEN they impeach chimpy.
Okay, that makes sense.
The country really needs that to happen.
These guys have proven to be a far
bigger disaster than I could have imagined,
and mind you, I knew what chimpy was like.
#24 – do you really believe that? You’re delusional.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:08 pmDid you guys that the new bankruptcy law that takes affect next month excludes disaster victims from filing chapter 7 bankruptcy?
Yes, the disaster issue was discussed and shot down by our criminal leader.
Bushie knew and he continues to twist the knife in the backs of victims.
votetoimpeach.org
September 7th, 2005 at 10:09 pmDid you guys get the email from Michael Moore? Cindy Sheehan is personally distributing supplies to victims.
I knew she would help if we all prompted her to.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:11 pmIn response to a petition I signed, (cant’ remember which one because I sign so many) the white house replied back. This is a first. Proves that Bushie is desperate to explain things.
I replied back and told Bushie that Americans are fed up with his corrupt administration. I also told him to take me off of his mailing list as he does not deserve my attention.
Bushie’s getting desperate!
votetoimpeach.org
September 7th, 2005 at 10:16 pmUnfortunatly, the Dems can only capture the house in 2006. The senate is out of reach for an impeachment vote because, at best, they can only get a one or two vote majority. In addition, we have turncoats like Lieberman in the mix. Why the hell Al Gore picked him still escapes me.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:22 pmYour the one who’s delussional Steven. People who support the murder of innocent people are usually committed to the mental hospital. Right now all beds are full. When the meds the neocons and chickenhawks are taking kick in you will be able to get yours. You hang in there. It won’t be much longer before you too can join the real world.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:24 pmDont be a pestimist WaltTheMan. The Republican party will be obsolete after the next election.
Do you really think that a republican in this country stands a chance at winning an election? Republican is a dirty word.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:27 pmSusan – I don’t understand – am I not allowed an opinion on the war unless I serve. Does that make me less of an American if I don’t. And Cindy Sheehan – do you really think it’s appropriate for her to exploit her son’s death to slander the mission that took his life?
I actually think you are delusional. AND I think you’re sad. I truly pity you.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:29 pmSusan,
September 7th, 2005 at 10:30 pmThe unfortunate part of the mix is that only 1/3 of the senate goes up every two years. We are left with 2/3rds of the assholes every election cycld.
I hate the fact that my posts always end up disappearing because I use words like Fuck. There are plenty of other posts where people use F*ck. It is the same goddamn thing. WTF Think Progress. Why do we have to be censored?
We are angry. Your censorship is no better than Bush’s God agenda. Stop it for gods sakes.
I make a perfectly valid point and it gets deleted, because of a word. That is kind of hypocritical wouldn’t you say.
Let’s be a little progressive here and let people speak there minds. If a little cuss word offends you guys, change the word to F*ck rather than delete the wnole post.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:32 pmSteve – Cindy Sheehan only mourns her son. You are trying to exploit him.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:32 pmActually Steven Souter, you are less American for not serving. People that serve are more American. Sorry to break it to you.
People that serve take an oath to defend America against all attacks on America, including from within.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:35 pmI’ll bet “Brownie” is like “Turd Blossom”. Am I right? It stinks not matter how it is.
That was a GREAT cartoon. Rummy: “You go to a hurricane with the government you have, not the one you’d like…” PRICELESS! I’m LMFAO!!! :-)
September 7th, 2005 at 10:35 pmSpudgeBoy – I pray that the left lowers the invective. I fear for what happens next if liberals stay out of power and lose the Court. I truly fear people that preach hate the way you do.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:38 pm#27, oops, Good job Thinkprogress for posting the bankruptcy tidbit. I hadn’t scrolled down before posting.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:38 pm#39
Are you “F*cking” kidding me? It is you ass*oles that are constantly placing blame on other and dodging the truth.
WHy don’t you bring your a*s to Orange, CA and I will show you “Invective” b*tch.
You f*cking people have completely screwed up this country and I am willing to kill you over it.
Have a nice day f*cktard.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:42 pmSteven, as a Bushie supporter you are a useless speck. Your opinion means nothing. Get your share of the meds before its too late.
WaltTheMan, The remaining 2/3 pugs in the Senate will have to run again eventually. If they do not support impeachment they will not get another term when they run and they know it. Even the pugs understand that the word republican is a dirty word in this country. Keep the faith and continue to let the pugs know that if they do not support impeachment they will be out of a job soon.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:43 pmSomeone is praying that the “left lowers the invective?” What???
How many years did the nation have to endure the ReichWingNut Wack-Jobs faxing/mailing/calling their representatives because someone had the audacity to have sex in the WhiteHouse? Now that we lost 3,000 people on 9/11, killed 100,000 civilians when we invaded Iraq, killed 5,000+ civilians in Afghanistan, and just lost probably 10,000+ people due to a hurricane suddenly the ReichWingNut Wack-Jobs can’t handle the truth?
Wow. Sensitive lot, they are. Not!
September 7th, 2005 at 10:45 pmSpudgeBoy, I think you are sad.
Susan – I support democracy and freedom as does the President. If Democrats didn’t slander our military shamelessly, I might be able to vote for them. But their radical position on abortion gives me great pause, as well. I used to be one of them.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:46 pm#42 – it’s that hateful tone that scares people into voting for Bush and his cronies. I am not saying he is always right, but at least he doesn’t lead against his opponents. He leads on conservative values.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:48 pmWe hate murderers, dictators and traitors. Go ahead and love em Steve but us normal thinking people will not join you in your criminal rampage.
votetoimpeach.org
September 7th, 2005 at 10:49 pmI think Steven is posting from Pat Robertsons bedroom.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:50 pm#44
Steven I don’t give a flying F*ck what you think of me you piece of S*it.
The offer is open, bring your retarded as* to Orange, CA and spew your talking points. I will make you feel pain before you die mother f*cker.
You don’t know. I am not the only one who feels this way. Bring it on B*tch.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:50 pmSusan – I think you hate yourself and your angry that you can’t formulate a productive agenda. People want more than hatred and invective when they go to vote. You should seek therapy before you bring the Democrats down forever.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:51 pmNo d*ck wad, we hate you. Actually, I won’t speak for Susan, just myself.
Bring it stupid.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:52 pmSpudgeBoy – if it makes you feel better to write hate like that, have fun.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:52 pmStop talking sh*t. Back it up. I dare you.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:53 pmWhy are you preaching violence? Isn’t that what you attack Bush for? Your hypocrisy is stunning…
September 7th, 2005 at 10:53 pmDoes it make me feel good that little as* wipes like yourself have taken over the country no? Am I willing to do something about it? You’re goddamn right.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:54 pmGo ahead Spudgeboy, speak for me. I hate all that support murder, treason and lies.
So hows ol Pat doing Steven? Does he keep the sheets clean?
September 7th, 2005 at 10:55 pmI am not preaching violence. That would be asking other to do the dirty work for me. I can’t wait to see you chooke in a poll of your own blood, that I drain out of your worthless husk of a body.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:55 pmThen stop acting like a fool and start a worthy cause Spudge. I don’t get it with liberals right now – I don’t hate you. I just don’t agree with you.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:55 pmWe have a worthy cause moron. Its called impeachment. Look it up. Obviously your vocabulary doesn’t include legal terms.
Go ahead and hate us Steven, we hate murderers, liars, dictators and traitors, so we aren’t exactly liking you.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:59 pmThanks Susan.
These people drive me crazy. Just crazy enough to want to bring everything to a head.
September 7th, 2005 at 10:59 pmCome on Steven, answer the million dollar question. Does Pat Robertson keep his sheets clean?
September 7th, 2005 at 11:00 pmSteven Souter,
Was your Word of the day Invective?
My opinion, worthless as it is coming from the left side of the political debate, is that the party that preaches Hate is the Republican party. Sure, the Democrats aren’t perfect, but generally speaking the Republicans are the ones who spew intolerance, misogynism and racism.
Anyway, carry on with your trolling.
Z.
September 7th, 2005 at 11:01 pmHe’s a moron Spudge. There’s no talking with a moron. He sits around and jacks off when he sees floating
September 7th, 2005 at 11:02 pmbabies, there is no cure for that.
“Susan – I support democracy and freedom as does the President.”
Then both of you put your money where your mouth is. REQUIRE voting machine records to be printed at the time the vote is registered. The last two elections were stolen by fraudulent voting machines – it’s no longer ’speculation’. If you don’t ‘believe’ it because you’ve been too radicalized by the right – then ask yourself for one moment to be rational and question why only republicans have blocked requiring this in congress…
September 7th, 2005 at 11:05 pmIf ‘bring it on’ is preaching violence – they your defense of bush is ‘indefensible’ – but then there isn’t anything conservative that would be ‘defensible’ from what I can see…
September 7th, 2005 at 11:06 pmYou know Susan, I broke my new rule, Don’t feed the trolls.
Sorry everybody, the past 9 days of Bush’s crap just got to me. I will stop feeding the trolls.
September 7th, 2005 at 11:08 pmI agree Ryan. The last two elections were stolen. I foresee riots at the polls that do not produce reciepts.
September 7th, 2005 at 11:09 pmSpudge, its fun to vent on the trolls sometimes. Go ahead, Steven was provoking us and he deserves what he dishes out. Thats the problem with people today, they are trying to behave when we should be rioting.
September 7th, 2005 at 11:10 pmIf you want to feel that you are helping the displaced Americans Spudge, find out if any of them are being transferred to your area. Many have come to the Chicago area and we are able to help them directly without worrying about the redcross ripping us off. We can speak to them directly and hear the truth about there plight. No chickenhawk neocon can dispute the words we hear from the victims.
Did you know that 18% of your donation to the red cross goes to the victims?
September 7th, 2005 at 11:14 pmSince everyone is signing off now I’d like to leave you with this important information.
Included in the new bankruptcy law, credit card minimum payments are about to double. The media is not reporting this and if you are unprepared you could find yourself in a heap of trouble.
This law is designed to destroy lower income people.
What Bushie failed to realize is that even higher income people are using credit cards without this knowledge and will also be destroyed financially.
Expect the worst retail holiday sales in history.

To Marie, I just saw on the news that Cindy Sheehan showed up in Wheaton. I am so bummed that I didn’t go. I was going to attend the events at Danada and something came up that prevented me. I figured Cindy was in LA and wouldn’t be able to attend.
Please fill me in on all of the details. I wanted to meet her so badly.
September 7th, 2005 at 11:41 pmOh, your here now Marie. Did you go to Danada?
September 7th, 2005 at 11:42 pmSusan, I do everything I can, within my means, to help anybody that is stuck in any bad predicament.
I hate this selfrightious “They shouldn’t have gotten themselves into that situation” attitude that these ring wing bastard carry.
That IS NOT American. Americans help each other no matter what. It doesn’t amtter what color, religion or tax bracket. They are Americans and they deserve or help, not blame.
Now call me preaching violence. I want to help, while a few, very few people on the right still want to play the blame game.
THEY ARE AMERICANS!!!!
WAKE UP!!!!
September 7th, 2005 at 11:48 pmI’m with ya SpudgeBoy. The heartless right wing propagandists make me sick. How they can watch the babies die from dehydration and starvation without a shred of feeling is beyond me.
They are sick and twisted individuals and I hope that someday they are in a bad predicament. I will not help them. I will tell them that I remember their heartless campaign to kill innocent babies. I will leave them to die. Our America will be a better place.
September 7th, 2005 at 11:56 pmSusan, I went to Batavia and saw Sheehan there, I have a post somewhere here today wherein I expressed how obnoxious were the Bushies who showed up to heckle. I had to attend a homeowner’s meeting tonight so I left at 4:30. Went with my husband and my neighbor.
September 7th, 2005 at 11:57 pmThere was a short clip on NBC tonight.
Thanks Marie, I caught the tail end of CLTV’s report. I heard there were traitors there. I wish I could have been there to bash the traitors.
Did you get to meet Cindy?
September 7th, 2005 at 11:59 pmIn a direct drive, the RC usually gets between 78 and 86% to the target population. In a general funding, yield is about 22%. The difference is due to the dynamics between an emergency and the need to direct aid to an undefined target, administration and travel expenses.
September 8th, 2005 at 12:03 amCNN reported last night that this particular drive (emergency) donations to the Red Cross will yeild 18% to victims.
Thats not good enough.
September 8th, 2005 at 12:06 amRe: 77
September 8th, 2005 at 12:11 amLet us only hope that CNN is incorrect and the RC wil live up to its past performances. Is there a Red Cross rep out there to respond?
What the average American does each day:
Unemployed Man Welcomes Return of Non-Labor Day
SAN FRANCISCO (DPI) — Out-of-work web developer Gene Mattison paused between spoonfuls of cereal Monday afternoon to reflect on his hectic Labor Day. “The trip to the store to pick-up charcoal nearly did me in,” he said. “I’m wrecked.” Mattison’s 126-day hiatus from all activities unrelated to daytime TV and Twizzlers left him ill-fit for a holiday weekend full of laborious tasks like shaving and leaving his apartment. “Yep, I had to lie down for a solid 10 minutes after rooting through my hamper for a salvageable T-shirt and pair of shorts,” said Mattison. “Thankfully, a few spritzes of Febreeze saved me the ordeal of having to shower.” Mattison has prescribed himself 14 hours of bed rest and expects to be back in form by Tuesday afternoon for his regular date with The Tony Danza Show.
No time for anything else.
You can understand Mr. Brown’s predicament.
September 8th, 2005 at 12:11 am#77 Susan and #76
September 8th, 2005 at 12:30 amI too was dismayed to hear the 18% figure about the Red Cross. I hope they explain all of this soon.
#75 I did not get to meet Cindy personally, and she did not stay long.
As for the thuglicans, my neighbor came with us today. He’s tall and has a booming voice. He did a bit of verbal bashing of the dumbyas.
H*ll, someone forgot to tell me the circus was in town!
September 8th, 2005 at 1:31 amI haven’t seen so many clowns in one space, since I went to the Shiner’s Circus in grade school. I’m
really beginning to believe the White House is a clown training school, cause God, knows there are enough of them coming out of the woodwork. Michael Brown, a horses-a**, if there ever was one. Appointing him as head of FEMA, is like appointing Jack the Ripper to
Surgeon General, just because he has experience with bodies & sharp objects.
Bush call Michael Brown, ‘Brownie’, what’s he call Chertoff? Mikey? That whole administration couldn’t put two honest ideas together, unless there were cue cards!
Stupid people shouldn’t breed and Washington is full of them!!!!!
Since this Brown clown is such a hero, I suggest we drop him off in the middle of people that have lost their homes and families and pets and everything else while being locked in a stadium with no food, water, sanitation, or hope of seeing any of the above in even an unreasonable amount of time. Let the people he affected show whatever sort of appreciation they feel is appropriate. If he is the hero the Megalomaniac In Chief says he is, then Brown has nothing to fear. If there had been no federal emergency, Brown would have still received his fat paycheck for sitting around doing nothing. The reason someone is employed by a department that is supposed to plan for and respond to disasters of all kinds is to actually prepare for and respond to disasters of all kinds, not just those in swing states on even-numbered years. If you’re being paid to prepare for and respond to disasters, but you sit around with your thumb up your ass while you are getting 3 full days of warning with charts and diagrams saying a massively destructive hurricane is going to hit America, most likely within about 18 miles of New Orleans, and you wait til your newspaper arrives the day after the hurricane hits to decide that gee, maybe we should call around and see if everyone down there is okay, then being fired for incompetence is just the beginning of what you deserve. Even last year they managed to respond to a couple hurricanes, and showered Florida with cash and supplies before those hurricanes even hit (doing far less damage). Guess what, 2005 isn’t an election year, suckers. Try again next year. We should also drop Bush in the middle of Iraq and walk away and let the liberated Iraqis show him all the appreciation he deserves for that little fiasco too. Fair is fair.
September 8th, 2005 at 2:03 amYou go, Scott! Just what I have been thinking!
September 8th, 2005 at 2:53 amI know the RC takes a lot out for admin etc., but still some will get to the victims. So do give if you can, it’s better than waiting for Bush to do something.
Note he asked for 51 billion today, the bulk of which will go to FEMA. Somehow I think that means Halliburton… Here’s hoping they all go to hell and burn for their many sins. And I don’t even beleive in the afterlife! But heck, if they can be suffering, I will accept the possibility.
By the way, “Steve Souter”, please go away, you are a bore. I almost miss the childish invective of Ned!
At this point aa little humor never harmed any thread. Check out the efforts of the RNC to find a replacement for the elephant. Some interesting developments.

September 8th, 2005 at 3:17 amJust saw Judd Legum on TV (on Democracy Now) talking about Mike Brown’s liposuction experience! Well spoken, but he looked like he could use some coffee…
September 8th, 2005 at 8:27 amHere is a thought: If you want to blame someone for the disaster of Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath in New Orleans, here is a list:
1. Blame all the mayors of New Orleans for the past 40 years because the city was not prepared to deal with this hurricane.
2. Blame all Louisana governors for not leading this state to better hurricane preparedness.
3. Blame decades of state legislators for being more concerned with lining their own pockets rather than doing what’s right for this state.
4. Blame all the past U.S. Senators of this state for not fighting to strengthen the levees of New Orleans. And blame the congressmen too.
5. Then blame all the presidents for the past 40 years. For those of you who hate President Bush and Republicans so much that you automatically blame them, remember: Most of Louisana’s and New Orlean’s leaders have been Democrats.
This tragedy isn’t about one party or one president. Stop being Monday-morning quarterbacks. It’s easy to second guess after the fact but very hard to make decisions during. Stop trying to assign blame and focus on what you can do to help.
Donate to the Red Cross and other agencies. Donate blood (I would but I just donated three weeks ago). Designate your donations to Hurricane Katrina relief.
September 8th, 2005 at 8:37 amCommon Sense (86), you don’t need to post the same misguided message, over and over on every article here. We saw it the first time. Talk about not doing the blame-game then trying to pin it on the democratic mayor and governor all in one post really stinks. You need to get some coffee and quit listening to pukes like that asshole Hannity and his constant barrage of holding everyone responsible but that imbecile Bush.
September 8th, 2005 at 9:36 am76,77,78;
September 8th, 2005 at 9:49 amLet’s all remember back to 9/11. The Director of the Red Cross was forced to resign in shamed because they (Red Cross) scimmed several millions from donations to the victims to replace their communication system. They are not the most efficient charity in terms of money getting to those in need, never have been, high administrative costs.
My community sent supplies quickly and there were no administrative fees at all. Everybody volunteered and donated. Thats how charities are supposed to work.
