Churches are all doing their part to help their fellow humans and their pets! I don’t know if anyone has already said this I would like at the end of this to see what the following people did to help the victims of these strange-origin hurricanes:

1) Rush Limbaugh
2) Matt Drugg
3) Joe Scarbourgh
4) Sean Hannity
5) Chris Matthews
6) Michael Savage
7) Bill Oâ€™Reilly
8) Newt Gingrich
9) Pat Robertson (that did not go to his diamond mine)
10) Chris Hitchens
11) Ann Coulter

There are much much more that are literally all talk and no action. The love of money is the root of all evil. So does that make this list above a list evil people? I didn’t add Bush as he is compelled to do something to save face. The others are a mystery of philanthropic egalitarianism.

We have opened our arms to every evacuee that has come to us, black, white or otherwise. We’ve been sending Grey Line Busses, and gifting frequent flier miles to get evacuees into our city as well. Colorado Springs is taking everyone we get. Your post says so much about the kind of person you are….

just b/c he went to seminary and is a noted scholar doesnâ€™t mean he canâ€™t be wrong. and to be completely honest, heâ€™s been mostly correct. but he seemed to be so nit-picky with other people, i thought it was a standard he also held himself to.

Just in case any of you care, and would like to pound the swords you are using so gleefully on one another into plow shares for the evacuees, you can make donations of money, clothing, and housing directly to Katrina evacuees by calling (719)578-5513. It is a non-affiliated association of people in the community. We have volunteers of every stripe. I have personally worked with three families, and an elderly gentleman, and have seen the amazing good we can do for one another regardless of differing opinion in politics and religion. Please use all of this vast energy you seem to have for the victims of Katrina. If you agree with Ann Coulter that the churches are doing more, then prove it by giving to your church organizations that are providing shelter and clothing. If on the other hand, you feel the secular organizations are more giving, then I challenge you to give openly to whatever organization in your hometown that is helping these poor people. Who cares whom is right, when there are people that need to be fed, clothed and housed. If you could provide no good, I’d be happy to leave you to assassinate one another; but you can, and you obviously have the time to volunteer.

I think you’re right Star, there are some genuine offers. That said let’s look at the source. Move On is a fairly radical group of people not given to what most would consider a traditional conception of charity.

I think you got here by mistake and you are probably as close to normal as I’ll ever find here so…here’s a rule of thumb when considering the benevolence of the Left:

Leftist ideologues are phonies. For most of them all that they want is to sound good. They don’t care about doing good. That’s why they do so much harm. They don’t really care what the results of their policies are as long as they are seen as having good intentions and can con “the masses” into giving them power.

Have any of you actually READ the housing offes on Moveon.com’s site? Yes, some seem on the up & up, but several are for only 2-3 weeks, or “short term”, and there is one requesting gay men only, and must be willing to become involved in a relationship! (Hopefully they’ll delete that one ASAP!)
