Depends on which TV channel you watch… if you’re a CNBC watcher, the Colonial pipeline breakdown was by far the biggest tragedy that Katrina wreaked, and the first priority…
i.e., isn’t a President responsible ultimately for everything the Fed Gov does, whether it’s his fault or not? And is that what he means by “I’m responsible” ?
crooks and liars has posted a link to the video of bush taking responsibility for something that happened on his watch for the first time in nearly 5 years…
“I finally watched the video of Bush, supposedly, taking the blame for the Katrina mess. Watch it. He fidgets, he squirms, his body language screams that mommy is twisting his ear behind his back whispering ‘take the blame.’”
john is absolutely right… given that a large part of my professional skill consists of observing and interpreting body language and, for someone of the positional stature and presumed polished professional skills of the president of the united states, it’s plain to see that bush would rather be just about ANYWHERE else… what a sad, pathetic man…
I mentioned early on, on one of our post sites, a week and a half ago when bush was in his photo opp in the staged hanger, he mentioned I think about 2 sentences that the pipelines were up and running at ?% and the refineries were going to be o.K. That was and still is a dreadful moment for me and still believe he would not have been there at all if it weren’t for the pipeline. I listen to every word this bunch say, as hidden in their words are their lies and cover up’s…Blessings
You’re on it, Sharon!
Of course, the pipelines must not be allowed to stop pumping that black gold. What Bush says first is what he hasn’t had time to rehearse a hundred times – that’s why listening to him talk unscripted is just a treasure trove of sound bites, and a peek into the truth.
The pipelines need to be saved! Just like the oil fields in Iraq needed to be secured while everything else was being looted. Cheney probably made the decision to cut his vacation four days short when he heard that the oil flow might be compromised. Other than that, more money for Halliburton.
Did you notice we are absent of troll’s.? They must be busy counting their word’s written and handing their count’s in for their right wing check’s this month. I want to know how bush figured out our oil was under any foreign sand, i can’t find that info anywhere. Forgot to mention think bush forms conclusions ( there’s a book on this ) and then makes up facts to back the conclusions. Calif4nian, I am a calfornia girl,Pasadena born infact. Isn’t that funny. Now I am the little old lady from Pasadena for real. Now a transplant in Wash. State…..Good coments all….Blessings
This is done while claiming that they were taken by surprise. We know where their priorities lie — this is another sickening example.

September 14th, 2005 at 10:20 amJosh Marshall says the pipeline carries a lot of military grade jet fuel.
September 14th, 2005 at 10:23 amIt’s allways about the oil and allways will be with Dick in charge.
September 14th, 2005 at 10:26 amWhile on the TPM website, Josh Marshall posed a good question yesterday..

September 14th, 2005 at 10:26 ambushco puts EVERYTHING over people, everything that is that involves money or the pursuit of their ideological agenda… oh, yes, and party loyalty…
the acceptance of responsibility, too, is a calculated move altho’ it’s obviously being done under duress…

I hope the next president can really talk to the American people with more truth not just halftruths.
