he’s a compassionate conservative: he turned them back on.

  2. Spudge-Boy says:

I had heard this, but don’t like to comment on things until there is more evidense. I guess this would be that evidence.

These guys are complete scumbags. We need to shout this at the tops of the highest mountains.

    SCUMBAGS!!!!!!!!

  3. Andrew says:

It’s like they don’t even care that they are being blatantly obvious!!! They aren’t even being sneaky about this! I’m glad there are still some reporters in the area, locked down though they are, so we don’t have to rely on the feds for information. They do, after all, have an admitted policy of LYING to the public about what’s going on.

Pretty soon there will be a “green zone” where it’s “safe” to report from so that the reporters can be contained and controlled.

  4. ohdave says:

It’s like I said when I heard Bush was speaking in NO:

Haven’t these poor people been through enough?

  5. MLDB says:

I don’t even understand this. Were they trying to ‘protect’ Bush from seeing that the power was still out almost three weeks later? Did they just want to put on a show for the peasants as ‘His Royal Highness’ graced them with his presence?

    Seriously…what was the point?

  6. S.D. says:

This is an example of how he’ll “help” these people…

  7. Peace Lover says:

What are you guys complaining about. They still don’t have constant power in Iraq. Surely that is more on his priority list.

  8. Citizen80203 says:

My question is; why is the only press on this a blog from Brian Williams? Back to their child like awe of the Grand Illusion. I can only surmise that if the modern neo-media were covering Nero they would report upon the tune coming from the fiddle and the fantastic lighting available during the performance.

  9. Elvis says:

God damned bastards. The lot of them. I’m so ashamed of this country. And I’m a vet!

  10. Zookeeper says:

    The Emperor has no clothes.

  11. WC says:

And was it REALLY necessary for Bush to give his address from N.O.? Seems like to me it was just another photo-op (Address-to-the-nation-op? Video-op?)

I mean, how many trips WILL he end up making to the area? He’s up to, what, 4? 5? And what exactly has he accomplished? Inflating Brownie’s ego with “you’re doing a great job!”? Hugging a few poor souls and showing how much he cares? Delivering promises? Stating the obvious – “things went wrong” – and “we’ll get to the bottom of this” and “I take responsibility”? Getting his picture taken with the real heroes (while rescue equipment sits idle in the background)?

And what’s with this picturesque setting that shows none of the damage experienced there? Should have put him outside of the Superdome wearing an environmental suit…show the world that he understands what happened there.

And speaking of the setting, did anyone notice how his blue shirt blended with the pretty blue lighting on the buildings in the background?

And in a time that he needs to be convincing folks to conserve fuel, just how much did he waste flying there and back to D.C.? (or was it a side trip, and he just happened to be passing through?)

    And…and…and…

  12. Marie says:

Just another photo-op. Someone here yesterday said he took back his generators when he left!
He went there for a stupid back-drop/photo.
The power would go on and then off when he left.
He pretended it was casual Friday in shirt sleeves. He could have/should have done this from the White House — two weeks ago.
This is the Wizard of Oz folks. Pull back the curtain; he is a phony.

  13. Spudge-Boy says:

Here’s something funny. Bush’s shirt was buttoned crooked during his speech yesterday. Go watch the video (turn down the sound, so you don’t have to hear his bulls!t. You will get a good laugh.

    I am still laughing.

Leader of the free world and he can’t button his own shirt. He probably has somebody to button his shirts on for him, but they are just as inept at there job as the rest of the people that work for him.

  14. Citizen80203 says:

It’s hard work, umm, putting buttons, I I, you know you start at the top and work your way up then, well ya know, you just get em done.

  15. Pablo in Mexico says:

Not only the shirt SPUDGEBOY, his pants was unzippered. Rove must have been on the trip with him and he got a BJ before they landed.

Turn out the lights, the partys over!

  16. Marie says:

    Pablo,
I heard he needed a “bathroom break” just before the red light on the camera turned on.
As for Karl Rove — poor baby — he has been down with kidney stones for a while. I hope the things weigh ten pounds each.

  17. Citizen80203 says:

    Hey Pablo

Was it you who posted a letter (about Katrina) to the editor for a Mexican Magazine at DailyKos?

  18. Citizen80203 says:

    Marie

Didn’t you hear darth vader is going in for knee embolism surgery? No sh*t about it. I think it’s really a stem cell implant surgery (using live babies), but I only report what they tell me, anything else is he said she said you decide.

  19. Spudge-Boy says:

Pablo, is there a link to a picture of that somewhere. I collect videos and images of these morons doing stupid stuff. Whenever I am feeling down about the way the country is head into the toilet, I whip a little “Go fvck yourself Mr. Cheney” or a little “Goobantorial one finger salute.” It brightens up my day to see these guys embarassed.

  20. Sharon Cox says:

Yep! me to Marie and I hope he has to pass them. With out pain killers. Is pale face dough boy Rove married.? Just wondering, might like to send a sympathy card to the poor dear whos married to him. I should buy a box full and mail one to each of the administrations insignificant others for being married to such evil men or women. …..Blessings

  21. Charles A Townsend says:

I did not listen to the speech but I did see the immaculate blue
lit building in the background. This looked like a scene from
    Disneyland not New Orleans.

I said I did not listen to the speech because I’ve heard it all before.
President Bush is a habitual liar. He promises the world and then
never delivers. He paints a beautiful picture of promises of a new
hope. Then when it becomes time to deliver, he is no where to be
    found.

The emperor truly has no clothes.

  22. Marie says:

Believe it, Sharon , the evil one is married and has one or two children. He is reputed to be a good family man! I find that one hard to swallow.
Perhaps he is able to compartmentalize like a jekyl-Hyde syndrome.
But pain, passing a little blood preceeding a few large kidney stones and being in agony is not a bad punishment for his evilness….for now.

  23. Marie says:

    #19, Very funny, Citizen.
I did hear about the surgery. At first I only heard surgery and aneurysm, I was holding my breath — then I heard the whole report.

  24. Susan says:

I didn’t watch the freakshow so I missed the shirt thing.

Since we know we are dealing with liars lets assume that Cheney has an anurysm in his brain. That assumption makes me hopeful.

  25. Pablo in Mexico says:

Citizen80203. That was not me, dont go to KOS. If it was good, I wish it had been me.

Check this out folks. Bush, who believes in small government, has more white house staff than any other president ever had. He has a staff of 7 at his ranch, farm, or whatever in Texas. He demands, and gets, a secret service detail double any other president alive because Rove knows that there is a possibility of his being assasinate.

Cheney is distancing himself from Bush because he is certain the prez is suffering from mental illness. You see Cheney was brought in to be the brains behind the puke government because Rove knew that Bush did not have it. After the re-election Bush is telling these people that he is the president, and he will make the decisions.
