This morning, the Wall Street Journal’s Stephen Moore makes an interesting point:
When President Bush announced last Thursday that the feds would take a lead role in the reconstruction of New Orleans, he in effect established a new $200 billion federal line of credit. To put that $200 billion in perspective, we could give every one of the 500,000 families displaced by Katrina a check for $400,000, and they could each build a beach front home virtually anywhere in America.
To add some more perspective, we’ve already spent $200 billion on a war of choice on Iraq. Each month, we are spending an additional $8 billion in Iraq — enough to provide each family displaced by Katrina with $16,000.
Instead, we are making them live in old shipping containers.
Don't knock living in an old shipping container until you try it.

September 19th, 2005 at 10:30 am...with plenty of cake.
they could each build a beach front home virtually anywhere in America.
Wrong again, WSJ.
Try to build a beach front home (buy land, hire architect, planning process, build house) for $400,000 in LA, Seattle, Miami, Long Island or Maryland.
What's his point?
September 19th, 2005 at 10:34 amWhy do you need all those billions? I thought the worst thing that happened in the Gulf coast was Trent Lott's house... at least that's what I gathered from the President's quote:
BUSH : "Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- he's lost his entire house -- there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch."
September 19th, 2005 at 10:34 amHey creating a Heritage foundation approved Gulf "Opportunism" Zone, paying Halliburton contractors, these things don't come cheap ...
September 19th, 2005 at 10:48 amHey, that's not $400,000 per family...
that's $1,000,000,000 for Trent Lotts "fantastic house". $100,000,000,000 for Halliburton (not for any specific reason, just because we like them so much, $50,000,000,000 to rebuild the businesses that donated money to the Republican cause. $30,000,000,000 to make sure that the levees are strengthened to protect all of this new, expensive real estate. $10,000,000,000 to rebuild the areas of cultural significance (Bourbon Street), $5,000,000,000 to Blackwater to provide security there (so that people can't take blackmail photos of Republicans with Hookers), $3,500,000,000 to hide the minimum wage workers homes from view. $400,000,000 to pay for press junkets to view the marvelous work we are doing. $75,000,000 to purchase janitorial supplies for all of the new buildings. $20,000,000 to revamp the New Orleans airport and clean the Superdome. $4,000,000 to Diebold to ensure Republican success at the next election. $750,000 for a PR party to re-open the rebuilt New Orleans. And finally, $250,000 to provide building supplies so that all of the minimum wage workers can build a shanty town in the designated area so that they have somewhere to live while not working in New New Orleans (soon to be renamed GWB Partytown).
If I wasn't so cynical I would think that this was a Joke.

September 19th, 2005 at 11:19 amIf you scroll through the article, you'll notice that "...Mark Williams, a director of Stewart Park Homes of Thomasville, Ga[]
[...]
FEMA "contacted us within 24 hours of the storm going through," he said."
Isn't that special? FEMA couldn't be bothered to get people out of the Superdome, but by God they have the people's next trailer in mind.
To put it bluntly, that's disgraceful.
Incompetence at the highest level.
Also what needs to be acknoledged: It's a wonderfous thing to see Americans so willing to help out those in need. This too should be stressed along with FEMA's continuingly mind-boggling incompetence. Go to hurricanehousing.org to see what I mean. It's also important to note that it was not, say, Pat Roberson or Sean Hannity how organized this website, it was none other than MoveOn.org. Hmmmmmmm....Some framing needs to be done to put this all together.
September 19th, 2005 at 11:21 am400 grand for beachfront property? Ha!
That won't even buy you a 700 sq ft condo here in Southern California.
September 19th, 2005 at 11:23 amStephen Moore? Isn't that the Club for Growth moron? He should be repeatedly clubbed to death alng with Grover Norquist.
September 19th, 2005 at 11:29 amYep! #1 Randy, I live in an old shipping container with wheels.Did any one see the special last week of the trailer camp that was built for the people in Florida.? Not a good thing, isolation and no chance to improve their lives.#8 Steve, It would take millions here in Seattle area to have water front. #6 Zwack I agree, and isn't all this just to sad to handle.#7 Deno someone needs to check that out......This Bush crap get's worst every hour....Blessings
September 19th, 2005 at 11:37 amI'm sure nobody here wonders where the money is going to go. (Follow the contribution trail to the oil, chemi, and construction folks)
Problem is, and this is sad, "most Americans" have no concept of 200 billion. People are used to hearing huge numbers tossed around daily in the MSM- no sticker shock.
I feel what needs to happen is for key MSM reporters to "roll" on the Bushco establishment. (Anderson Cooper MIGHT be a good place to start.) Remember, the reporters have a job with bosses and executives dictating their presentations...they get paid and need their salaries like everyone else. News is a business like everything else too. Bushcos numbers are in the dumps, meaning that most Americans smell a rat. The first MSM reporters to have the balls to expose Bushco for what it is will enjoy instant popularity, and with it...it's spoils. The best thing that could happen is for them to be fired...imagine the book deals. Although them getting fired may not happen. The ratings would skyrocket for the networks too, being a business, this is good for them. (HBO is making a mint off of Bill Maher.)
In this instance, if a couple of key reporters put the $200b in the $400k perspective and presented it properly...there might be some general outrage. Sick is the fact that the oil and chemi industries can re-build quite easily on their own...without Karl’s help. As it stands now there will be lots of corporate welfare.
These blog sites are great and do have an effect. But try telling the average person over 50 to reference the internet. Many are conditioned to believe nothing on the internet is believable. The MSM is needed. Imagine if even just one of the repug thugs rolled over to our side?
September 19th, 2005 at 11:44 amI THINK IF ROVE HAS CONTROL OVER THE MONEY TO REBUILD NO. WE ARE INDEEP S------- OF COURSE HALLBURTON AND THE OTHER OIL COMPANYS WILL GET TOP PRIORITY FOR MONEY TO REBUILD THEIR OIL RIGS SINCE THEIR PROFITS ARE ONLI 200 PER CENT
September 19th, 2005 at 12:42 pmsomeone figured out 1 BILLION dollars would fill a football field 3 feet high with $100 bills. gasp!
September 19th, 2005 at 12:53 pmHere We Go Again
Another week. More great blogs. And another storm to deal with.
September 19th, 2005 at 1:48 pm#13, so the $200,000,000,000 (I know it's only $200 billion, but with all those 0's it LOOKS much more impressive) would allow us to fill a football field 600 feet high with $100 bills.
To put that in perspective, the Louisiana Superdome is only 253 high. The Seattle Space Needle is 605 feet high. That is one heck of a lot of $100 bills (2,000,000,000 of them to be precise).

I am so tired of IDIOTS who either choose to DENY FACTS or they are too lazy or STUPID to learn them.
ANYONE with a semi-working brain and a modicum of
knowledge KNOWS that our actions in Iraq are a
NECESSARY part of our war on terror!
Period!
End Of Story!
And I am no more going to waste my time arguing about it with some anti-war PUKES than I am going to waste time arguing with those who say the world is flat. They are all clueless idiots.
September 19th, 2005 at 2:26 pmNeil C Reinhardt,
You may be 70, a vet and a former manager... You may be experienced... and even knOWledgable...
But if you KNOW that "our" actions in Iraq are a NECESSARY part of our war on terror then you are a GRADE A TROLL!
Do not waste your time posting this crap on here if you are "not going to waste your time arguing".
Please feel free to go and rant and rave wherever you want, but don't waste my time.

That is an out and out lie. We're making them live in NEW shipping containers. Hey wait....shipping container? Are your thinking what I'm thinking???

Double or single? I missed that special but I'd be willing to bet that what they are living in now is better than what they had. Improve their lives? What makes you think they are going to start now. What were they doing in years past, waiting for a hurricane and Uncle Sugar to make things better?
September 19th, 2005 at 3:00 pmSmack - so, everyone who disagrees with your ideas is a troll?? If so, this site would be soooo boring without trolls!! All 6 or 8 of you screaming how much you hate "Bushco and reich wing" - this place would be a snooze!!
September 19th, 2005 at 3:29 pm"If so, this site would be soooo boring without trolls!!"
The only thing that makes this site boring at times is the constant drone of the right wing nuts who repeat the same spin that's already been debunked. I can't tell you the number of times I've read the exact same statement from you retards that on a previous thread was already debunked to the point you look like babies. And yet, here you are, pretended you add entertainment and joy. You might finding lying to people 'funny', but to me you're just another psychotic piece of work who uses this as your own personal escape from your much needed therapy.
After all, the NeoCons are disciples of LeoStrauss, someone who publically stated he was a Nazi - so in fact your rejection of this connection is merely a delusional dissonance on your part - and not 'funny' as you so state in that childish and petty view of the world you hold. People die and you say the discussion of this would be 'boring' without your interaction. No without you it would be serious, with you, it's jerry springer and the low life republican trailor trash...
September 19th, 2005 at 3:44 pmAnd you don't disagree, you spin and lie, that's a big difference... And you never have the guts to admit when you're wrong, because frankly you're little children who've been scammed and you're too selfish and self centered to cope with that reality...
September 19th, 2005 at 3:45 pmYour source for Leo Strauss label of Nazi?? Move-on.org? That certainly would have been a surprise to the University of Chicago! You are a "cut and paste" master.
September 19th, 2005 at 4:31 pmRyan - did Mom and Dad pay $$$$ for your myriad of degrees?
September 19th, 2005 at 4:34 pmMightDingbat,
And yet it's true.

As for who paid for my degrees, wow your fixation on money versus content sure does show your fascist roots. And why are you so concerned about how the family of a liberal may or may not have contributed to his education? That seems a pretty irrelevant fixation - but then again you're just riddled with irrelevance...
September 19th, 2005 at 4:41 pm$400K for each family displaced by Katrina, eh? I guess I have to ask the question "Why should we be giving any of these people $400K??"
They were hit by a horrific natural disaster. They have suffered great personal loss. Some have suffered the loss of loved ones. With that said, thousands of people suffer similar consequences accross this country each year. What makes the Katrina victims more special than the midwestern farmer that has his corn crop wipped out? Or the salmon fisher that loses his boat at sea. Or the California family that loses their house to an earthquake? None of these people get $400K just handed to them. They are offered low or no intrest loans to rebuild. Are we supposed to give all of the Katrina victims a free ride now? To add, it won't take anywhere near $400K for most of these people to rebuild.
If you can explain to me why they should be treated any different I'd love to hear it...
September 19th, 2005 at 4:41 pm"You are a “cut and paste†master."
That's true. Too bad you're such a dope and so incapable of obtain, presenting or identifying even the most basic of facts. You seem to prefer to do personal attacks since you bring nothing else of value. I call you an idiot, because you present no evidence that you're using your brain. You call me an idiot because I shatter the fragile view of reality you have... In otherwords, being identified for the loser idiot you truly are, when your whole life it's clear you thought you were the 'smart one', seems to really undermine your sense of self worth. You thought you'd come here and knock around a few stupid liberals, only to find you're so stupid you didn't even know where your own political movement came from! What a duped idiot you are!
September 19th, 2005 at 4:43 pm#20...
Please read the comment that I was responding to...
Someone, came on here, stated... "I know this opinion is a fact, and I'm not going to argue about it"
What would you call that other than a troll?
I don't mind debating, I don't mind arguing, but a close-minded comment from someone who then states that there will be no debate is a heap of steaming troll crap.
I did NOT state that anyone who disagrees with me is a Troll so take your flange-mangling strawman arguments and shove them. Nor have I ever used either of the phrases BushCo or Reich-wing anywhere except this sentence.
#24... I don't know why you are commenting on Ryan Neat and his degrees, but my parents didn't pay for either of mine...
In general, I was replying to a single statement that was completely irrelevant to the commentary in this thread and stated "I know my opinion is right, and nothing you say or do will make me change it." Which is a completely pointless thing to post in ANY discussion forum...
#26, Chuckie, I don't think that anyone here was suggesting "just hand these people $400,000" instead it was more a discussion about how relevant/irrelevant that argument and the sum of money was. The $200,000,000,000 is going to be handed over to big companies to spend on whatever they feel like IMHO. If that money was instead invested in raw building supplies and training some of the homeless victims in construction work then I would consider that money well spent. People would learn new trades that they could apply now, and use as a basis for more work later. They would be rebuilding their own community which would probably impart a sense of community that they may not have had before. And (just a guess) less money would be wasted than if the money was handed out to large corporations. Does the WPA mean anything to you?

You shouldn't talk about Princess Ryan that way. He will write three pages worth of meaningless drivel and accuse you of everything that he loves to do. He's especially fond of calling me a pedophile which of course raises the thorny question of how old his latest boyfriend is.
September 19th, 2005 at 5:05 pmMrWrong is a homophobe that swears he is not gay. The only two groups of men who are homophobic are repressed gay men and pedophiles. Since he's in his mid 30s and single and socially inept, pedophile is clearly the most obvious choice...
As for my last partner, unlike you I'm confortable with my adult sexuality and don't require oppressing others to feel sexually satisfied. To many reichwingers like MrWrong, sex and violence seem to be interwined. That's why you get Bolton forcing his wife into group sex, the republican mayor of our favorite little town in washington state soliciting boys, the BTK republican serial killer, and any number of other sexual freaks. It's no accident that reichwingers are sexual deviants - they are often abused as children and never properly develop adult portions of their brain (the michael jackson syndrome). They therefore repress their sexuality, and end up being a loony bin like mister freakazoid here...
After all, every statement he makes always comes with a sexual enuendo, and with the implication that he finds me feminine - despite the fact that I repeatedly smear his stupid retarded mug in the ground. I'd say he suffers from an S&M fetish based on his perverse desire to come here for what he calls 'abusing the liberals'...
September 19th, 2005 at 5:16 pm"It’s no accident that reichwingers are sexual deviants - they are often abused as children and never properly develop adult portions of their brain (the michael jackson syndrome)."
Interesting... I don't think I've ever heard such a point of view.
Oh wait, I get it. Only conservatives can be sexual deviants because they speak out against such activity. Liberals participate in the same practices but since they think "it's all good" it isn't deviant.
A conservative with his dog is deviant. A liberal with his dog is simply an experssion of love.
Did I get that correct Ryan?
September 19th, 2005 at 5:34 pmChuckle,
I'm glad to see you have a sense of humor on the subject, but it's a real issue that is a common problem. You tell me, was your father a 'strong' father, or your mother a 'strong' mother that took the belt to you? Did one of the drink? Did your dad or uncle abuse you and you're afraid to tell anyone? I can almost guarantee you that you'll answer yes to at least one of those questions...
Liberals protect rights of what equals do, we don't support or protect abusive relationships - that's the realm of the republicans and the priesthood...
September 19th, 2005 at 5:40 pmChuckie,
You are aware that Mr. Bush is a graduate of 'worthy creations' an Ex-Gay ministry in texas aren't you? I'm sure not. You're probably also aware that Laura 'accidentally' killed her boyfriend when she was 17 - right?
You guys have more bodies buried than a baghdad morgue.

Have they caught up to Billary and Whitwater yet? ;-)
September 19th, 2005 at 6:27 pmNanny 911?!? LOL Yeah, I'm going to base my parenting skills on a Fox reality show!! ROTFLMAO
Giving your kid a quick smack on the butt to get their attention is no more child abuse than squeezing them hard when your playing or rough housing with them.
I also love how you post all sorts of "facts" yet never produce a single resource or link to back them up. Instead you tell me that it's a well known fact that S&M hookers flock to Republican conventions. Prove it. And then prove that they don't flock to DNC conventions.
September 19th, 2005 at 6:34 pm"Giving your kid a quick smack on the butt to get their attention is no more child abuse than squeezing them hard when your playing or rough housing with them."
And thanks for proving my point. It actually is quite different, and everyone from Dr. Phil to Nanny 911 will tell you that if a parent has to go to that level of parenting, they are out of control and they are the problem...
How's this for a single resource - I can find you dozens, done by peer review and number of other things. And this certainly explains why you're such an un adjusted idiot.
http://www.drphil.com/articles/article/247
As for the hookers showing up, you really are daft enough to not know this aren't you? Wow, what a naive twit you are!
http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=04/08/17/1354246
September 19th, 2005 at 6:38 pmI read that article about the RNC before the election. So? It doesn't prove that they are depraved and praticing S&M. It also doesn't disprove that hundreds of hookers showed up for the DNC. A lame attempt at best to prove your point.
I'm starting to see why your reality is skewed. It's all based on what you've seen on TV. Dr. Phil, Nanny 911, etc. Hopefully you don't take shows like Smallville too seriously. You might try jumping off a building with disapointing results. Start with the kitchen stool first. At the worst you'll twist an ankle.
September 19th, 2005 at 6:53 pmI can give you more references - I stated this was but the tip of the iceberg...
http://www.newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news/rnc/9681/
As for my reality getting skewed by TV, frankly I don't watch much, although your response was a typical strawman of the right idiot talking point. You really need to do better, so far you just look like a teenage twit. I was giving you the dumbed down sources, because it's what I thought you could handle. If you wish me to pull you out of the TV culture and into a more serious academic set of literature - here you go. This is the APA's guidelines on the matter.
Hitting, slapping, or spanking children as punishment shows them that it's okay to hit others to solve problems and can train them to punish others in the same way they were punished.
Physical punishments stop unwanted behavior only for a short time. Even with very harsh punishment, children may adapt so that it has little or no effect. Using even more punishment is equally ineffective.
Nonphysical methods of discipline help children deal with their emotions and teach them nonviolent ways to solve problems. Here are some suggestions:
* Giving children 'time out' -- making the children sit quietly, usually 1 minute for each year of age (this is not appropriate for very young children),
* Taking away certain privileges or treats,
* 'Grounding' -- not allowing the children to play with friends or participate in school or community activities (this is only appropriate for older children or adolescents).
Punishment that involves taking away privileges or 'grounding' should be consistently applied for realistic, brief periods.
Children need to feel that if they make mistakes, they can correct them. Show them how to learn from their errors. Help them figure out what they did wrong and how they can avoid making similar mistakes in the future. It is especially important not to embarrass or humiliate your child at these times. Children always need to feel your love and respect.
A positive approach to changing behaviors is to emphasize rewards for good behavior instead of punishments for bad behavior. Remember that praise and affection are the best rewards.
September 19th, 2005 at 7:01 pmYou know what Ryan? I don't mind debating with others that have different points of view but you are an A1 jackass. You can't post a single comment with calling names, denigrating or just flat out being a jerk. Is this how you parent too? Tell your kids they are twits, idiots, stupid, good for nothing? Is this how your parents raised you? You've obviously learned the behaviour from someplace. It's all good as long as you don't spank them though, isn't it? Just so you know, emmotional abuse is no better than physical abuse. Now that I think about it, I bet you don't even have kids. What a trainwreck that would be. If you do I bet your ex-wife has them and she has moved as far from you as possible and never lets you see them. You have probably gone through life with no meaningful relationship that has lasted and will probably never have one. You're probably a sniveling little rat that gets pushed around on a daily basis but thanks to the wonder of the internet you can talk tough and be a bully and salvage what little dignity you have. I guess if that's what you have to do to survive.
Yup, I think I have you pegged. Good luck in life... you're going to need it!!
September 19th, 2005 at 7:26 pmChuckie,
You passive aggressive little twit. You make snide comments about me only having TV knowledge, and you don't expect me to call you a moron? Duh, what a big stupid baby you are!
And you'd be wrong on every account... I have a great deal of love and happiness in my life...
Don't confuse my intollerance for an intollerant moron like you as how I handle civil relations with civilized people. I don't call you an idiot because you disagree with me, in fact I sometimes disagree with people on this site - I call you an idiot, because you are one. You're uninformed, you're bigoted in your values, and your arrogant in your desire to 'spread' those values to a liberal site when frankly your opinions are stupid...
Add real value to the conversation instead of crap talking points, and I'll take you seriously. You haven't done that.
You decided to take me on about the child abuse - and I proved you wrong. Now in your frustrated hostility that requires you not accept things that disagree with your right wing preconceptions - you take your ball and run like the little immature boy you are... Instead of waking up and being an adult and realizing that MAYBE - JUST MAYBE - you're the one who's got the twisted world view...
By the way, I used to use NICE techniques quite a bit with conservatives - and you know what I learned? You aren't nice people - and you don't respond to it. You're dysfunctional and twisted idiots as a group - and frankly I have no patience for you pushing your stupid and ignorant anti american agenda on this country anymore... You may not like it that I'm willing to get in your face the way OReilly gets in 'liberals faces', but hey baby, that's the way the world works... You don't like being called stupid, stop saying stupid things...
September 19th, 2005 at 7:39 pm"Yup, I think I have you pegged. Good luck in life… you’re going to need it!!"
Already had it. I have every thing in live I ever wanted - I just refuse to allow idiots like you from taking away those same opportunities from a new generation... See unlike you I actually care about this country, not just my own selfish, whiney and petty needs...
September 19th, 2005 at 7:40 pmDoes anyone else find it ironic that the guy who beats his kids is worried about how I might raise children? You're one sick stupid bastard!
September 19th, 2005 at 8:15 pmLOL, another lovely post by the brilliant Ryan Neat.
And you still haven't proven a thing. The lastest article that you posted talking about sex and republicans made me laugh. Especially this part:
"To try to gauge demand, many New York sex workers have been looking to their Boston counterparts. A special Boston Phoenix Democratic National Convention issue included an adult section with ads like “Boston Welcomes You! Truth Escorts is offering the most beautiful bodies and faces of Boston’s finest ladies.†Reports were favorable on many escort review sites—consumer message boards that are the Epinions of hookerdom. One Boston escort posted that her $150 DNC GFE (“girlfriend experienceâ€) special had filled so quickly that she was extending it. “After talking with people who own agencies up in Boston,†a New York escort-agency owner e-mailed me, “we are in the process of hiring two to three times the number of girls, as we have been told that business in Boston tripled during that time frame."
The hookers got their idea to come to New York for the RNC because of the smashing success they had in Boston at the DNC!! LOL
Too add, you're now going to argue that the article quotes Mistress Natasha as saying that "Republicans are way freakier". She then goes on to say that this is "probably because they are way more repressed". So now she's a psychologist? Even worse, you're basing your argument on a hooker's opinion? OK, I'll give you this argument if you give me the one where she states that liberals don't ask for freaky stuff because they "have already done all that...". Fair enough?
OK, who am I to argue with a hooker about what she has been asked to do. My question is, does she ask to see their voter registration card before she performs? How does she know they are Republicans or Democrats?
It could be worse, we could be Independants!! "The guys that are interested in transsexuals are probably independents." LOL
All that article proves is that when going to a hooker, Republicans ask for freaky stuff as opposed to doing freaky stuff at home with their wife. Your argument that "reichwingers" are sexual deviants (and dems are not) because they are often abused as children and never properly develop adult portions of their brain (the michael jackson syndrome)" is just flat out wrong and you haven't proven a thing yet. The article smacks of sensationalism to pander to a certain segment of society that buys their rag. Let me guess, The New York Metro magazine is decidely liberal?
Concerning the spanking issue, you haven't proven a thing. All you have done is cut and paste some "talking points". Guess what? I use all of them in the raisng of my kids but every once in a while they need their attention jogged just a bit more than what grounding them from the Playstation accomplishes. I;m not saying that you should beat the crap out of your kids but a quick whack to the butt never hurt anyone. You deal with your kids how you want and I'll deal with mine the way I best see fit.
Got anything else for me Buckwheat?
September 19th, 2005 at 8:19 pmMy fixation on your tuition is because I believe you to be a "Master Mooch!!" like so many libs who want:

Wow you really are desperate to believe I'm a mooch - I must have really rattled your delusional cage you live in. If it makes you feel better you just believe I'm a single welfare mom living in the projects with a high school education and that I'm gonna come take your hard earned taxes!
Come on, is that the best inaccurate and lame stereotype of a democrat you can do? I mean come on, if it weren't for affirmitive action and the GI bill, Rehnquist and Thomas wouldn't have gone to college! If you want to use that stereotype, you should try it on your own side.
And while we're talking about handouts - how about the millions got with his baseball team scam on the backs of taxpayers. Or Halliburton and their corporate welfare. Or the big Pharm corporate welfare. Or the energy bill welfare.
You have this perception that poor people are taking away your tax dollars, but Republican scams are nothing but welfare that actual taxpayers like me (and presumably you) pay for. They've got you lathered up like soap (dope) on a rope - and you're too stupid to actually see anything clearly. Man your education was a bust - I hope it didn't cost your family any money - because they were gipped!
September 19th, 2005 at 8:55 pm"I use all of them in the raisng of my kids but every once in a while they need their attention jogged just a bit more than what grounding them from the Playstation accomplishes."
Real parents don't need to use playstations to babysit - obviously they suffered from attention deficit.
"I;m not saying that you should beat the crap out of your kids but a quick whack to the butt never hurt anyone. You deal with your kids how you want and I’ll deal with mine the way I best see fit."
And as the APA says, you've taught them the same stupid and morally distorted values you have. I'm sure they'll grow up to be fine republicans...
When you cut and pasted the article, you forgot where they said the consensus is that the Republicans are definitely kinkier and more twisted... I can post all day - but face it, you're a closed minded bigot who just pretends to want a conversation. Nothing I say to you will change your mind because it isn't open. The reality is you beat your kids, you think that's ok, yet it's bad parenting. You're happy you used bad parenting on your kids, and some kids are resilient enough to not be damaged by this. Many however are - and you clearly were one of those...
September 19th, 2005 at 8:58 pmJust a hunch but I bet your mom couldn't let you play in the sandbox when you were little.
You still have made no mention of having kids of your own so until you can do more than parrot child rearing philosophy taught to you in home ec class I'm done with you on this subject. You have no point of reference and are just talking out your ass. When you join the real world, we'll talk.
"When you cut and pasted the article, you forgot where they said the consensus is that the Republicans are definitely kinkier and more twisted…"
When hookers are involved, yes, I conceeded this point. You must have missed that part but then again reading comprehension can be a bitch, eh?
But as I pointed out, in the professionals' opinions it was because libs "have already done that..." so for you to say that Republicans are flat out kinkier and more twisted based on that one article is wrong not to mention its hardly scientific. Any moron can figure that out, well, except you appearently.
Regarding my initial comment of this post, if you are wondering how I knew this about you it's because I also know that cats like to bury shit in sandboxes.
September 19th, 2005 at 9:42 pm"...he in effect established a new $200 billion federal line of credit. To put that $200 billion in perspective, we could give every one of the 500,000 families displaced by Katrina a check for $400,000..."
WHAT MAKES ANYBODY THINK THE MONEY'S GONNA GO TO THE VICTIMS? So far it's going primarily to Halliburton, Bechtel, Albaugh's clients, and other GOP-connected firms. Even if showered with cash, will the underprivledged people of color in the Gulf vote Republican? Not gonna happen! Therefore, why would BushCo help them? The funds will be going primarily to those who can "help" the GOP, as indicated by the first contracts already being doled out to a who's-who of GOP corporate heavy hitters.
September 19th, 2005 at 10:34 pm"But as I pointed out, in the professionals’ opinions it was because libs “have already done that…†so for you to say that Republicans are flat out kinkier and more twisted based on that one article is wrong not to mention its hardly scientific. Well they were speculating as to the 'why', but the facts they presented were that the rightwingers were more twisted. Psychiatrists will tell you that because rightwingers like you repress your true sexuality, it oozes out like a toxin - whereas liberals who embrace whatever or whoever they are tend to actually be more stable and less freaky... It was a good speculation on their part - but not the actual reason.
As for being a moron - you shouldn't spend so much time looking in the mirror, you clearly see yourself everywhere.
September 20th, 2005 at 1:26 am"Regarding my initial comment of this post, if you are wondering how I knew this about you it’s because I also know that cats like to bury shit in sandboxes."
Who said you knew anything about me? You're assume a lot apparently, with very little basis for those assumptions - that seems to be a common characteristics of those of your ideology...
September 20th, 2005 at 1:28 am"Who said you knew anything about me? You’re assume a lot apparently, with very little basis for those assumptions - that seems to be a common characteristics of those of your ideology…"
Just following your lead master. I am but a grasshopper compared to your mastery of above mentioned tactic.
September 20th, 2005 at 10:35 am"Just following your lead master. I am but a grasshopper compared to your mastery of above mentioned tactic."
That would be true, except for the fact that it's clear you're a slow learner...
Being 'clever', isn't being smart. It might have gotten you by in your suburban republican cocoon - but to me you look like another feckless loser who doesn't read or know enough to justify your over inflated sense of self. Your use of the 'passive aggressive' is clearly an issue with your upbringing, and I hope you didn't pass on this horrific and dysfunctional trait to your children. Considering you beat them as you were beaten, I fear they will be as dysfunctional as you... You truly do belong in the republican party...
September 20th, 2005 at 1:23 pmOh and Chuckie,
Passive Aggressive behavior is a 'defense mechanism' that is learned through a dysfunctional childhood where children don't learn conflict resolution techniques. When they are threatened (especially of being beaten), they develop this dysfunctional mechanism to cope with the situation. You continually prove my earlier claims about people in your political party, despite your best denials of its baseless nature. Thanks for being such a clear example of this in action...
September 20th, 2005 at 1:37 pmAhhh, but being clever will take you further in life. You can be smart but if you don't know what to do with your smarts what good are they? Case in point, a clever person of moderate intelligence can become President of the U.S.A. ;-)
In your case you're neither clever nor smart which pretty much makes your supposed multiple college degrees a moot excercise in futility.
September 20th, 2005 at 1:47 pm"Passive Aggressive behavior is a ‘defense mechanism’ that is learned through a dysfunctional childhood where children don’t learn conflict resolution techniques."
You mean like calling people names? If so, you are well on your way to healthy and happy adult life... if you can ever get past the 1st grade level of childish behaviour.
September 20th, 2005 at 1:51 pm#56...
Not Carter, he wasn't only "of moderate intelligence"... Clinton? I wouldn't include him either...
Hmmm... I don't know who you might be refering to then...
Z.
September 20th, 2005 at 2:41 pmZwack, you and I both know who I was alluding to. :-)
September 20th, 2005 at 4:28 pmNope, sorry, you've got me...
Carter, has already been covered.
Reagan had Charisma, but was suffering from Alzheimers, I certainly wouldn't ever call him clever.
Bush Senior!!! Must have been him...
Clinton, we've already covered.
Bush Junior is Arrogant, Evil but I would never claim he was Clever... Or do you mean Karl Rove? Or perhaps Diebold...
Z.
Bush Junior, is Evil, Arrogant,
September 20th, 2005 at 5:57 pmThe only things that survived the hurricanes were boats and shipping containers because they float. We should build homes from shipping containers that will float in the next flood. Nice homes should be designed around the shipping container, which will safely secure possessions during the next storm.
September 28th, 2005 at 4:41 pmAnd you, ZWACK are TOO STUPID to understand the FACTS!
So kiss off, you clueless idiot!

October 12th, 2005 at 8:49 pmMighty and Chuck- LMAO! YOU ARE KILLING ME! Stop making fun of Ryan, you're going to discourage him from blogging and frankly, he's the funniest dillusional lefty on the blogosphere. Wow, I haven't laughed this hard since Howard Dean's meltdown...
October 26th, 2005 at 6:14 pmRyan- Please ignore them, their only provoking you because it's easy. Personally, I hope you become a DNC speech writer.
Sincerely, Turk of La Mancha
Why are Democrats always attacking Republicans and Republicans don't do much about it. So far it seems that Democrats are just evil.... PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS PSYCHOS
October 26th, 2005 at 6:19 pmHey Zack,
No, I do not waste my time arguing with the members of the Flat Earth Society as they just deny facts and it is a waste of time.
The same applies to all those who do not know our liberation of the Iraqi people was fully justifed and our war in Iraq is a necessay part of our war on terror. They are either ignorant of sufficent facts, too stupid (like YOU) to learn them or they choose to deny them.
Not knowing facts, not learning facts and/or denying facts has NO effect on them and does not change them.
Just because you and those of your ignorant ilk are clueless about them in no way negates them OR makes me a "troll"
I play beach volleyball nearly every weekend on the courts at 29th and the Strand in Manhattan Beach, CA
nearly every weekend. Come on down and I will kick your ass just because you are too "F" ing stupid to even know what a troll is.
Nearly everyone there knows me so just ask, PUNK!

November 25th, 2005 at 10:54 pmGee Zawck,
And it is really too bad you are so totally clueless you do not know the difference between mere opinion and a fact. You seem to think that because you do not have not knowledge of a fact (or facts) it makes it (or them) an opinion.
You poor clueless little thing you!
