I have never claimed to be a Republican. I am a libertarian-conservative, and I DO NOT consider G.W. Bush to be in-line with my beliefs. Bush is not a true fiscal conservative and there is way too much room for government in his social policies. But I’m not going to debate why I voted for him, because that’s not what this is about. This is about Iraq and terrorism. My initial point was that it is improper to equate barbarian terrorists with American revolutionary heros. That is disgusting.

Also, whether or not you think all Republicans are Nazis/fascists, or that we shouldn’t have fought in Iraq in the first place, like it or not, we are there. If we leave now Iraq will fall into worse hands than before we got there. We cannot concede to barbarians! We cannot send the message that if you cut off enough innocent civilian’s heads and broadcast them on TV that we will run home with our tail between our legs. Rebuilding Iraq is going to be difficult and will take years…it’s not going to turn into Nebraska overnight folks. I DO NOT necessarily agree that Iraq was the the best choice for a front in the war on terror, but we are there and we can’t go home until the job is finished.

Another thing, calling all Republicans Nazis and fascists is childish (are all Dems communists?). It is not true, it is counterproductive and you would be a lot more confincing if you didn’t use such immature comparisons. Trying to sway someone to your way of thinking by calling them a Nazi is probably the least effective form of persuasion. I’m more than willing to have a civil debate, but I will not be called a Nazi.
