up here in Washington state el Dubyuh's FEMA chief's qualfications consist of a mail-order BA in business, running a coffe4 shop, a few terms in the state legislature and ability to recite GOP slogans w/o stuttering or looking embarrassed. He makes Brownie look highly qualified.

During a week when Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean tried to rally his party in a quixotic effort to block the confirmation of John Roberts, Republicans at all levels of government may have given him the keys to Congress. For Democrats, ending the epidemic of GOP corruption, patronage and cronyism has to be one sure fire theme for next year's mid-term elections. Memo to Dean: Clean Up the Mess in '06.

This article only highlights the "plum" political jobs with policy responsibilities. Political appointees can, after about 2 years, land "career" federal jobs by "burrowing in" under something callled the "Ramspect Act." In past Administrations, there have been a very low number of Ramspect appointments. I wonder how many clerk-typists jobs the current administration has been packing with loyalists?

And - unlike Clinton, who was constantly investigated by GAO on this, there hasn't been one report during Bush II.

Hiring incompetent people consistently sure explains why bush bankrupted 3 companies. Clearly his understanding for the need for qualified personnel never entered into his training. I'm assuming that's what happens when you MBA is bought through legacy and "gentleman's 'C's" (otherwise known as failing all your classes because you're a stupid spoiled brat) instead of someone who actually earns an education. This ivy league welfare for the rich is destroying american values!

The suprising thing here is not the information contained in the headline, but rather the magazine it was printed in. Finally, mainstream media has no choice but to acknowledge the many, many problems with this administration.

Very interesting story in Time--brought up some names I hadn't heard before, names of people in critical roles. I hope that action can be taken before these people, too, must express their "regrets" about the results of their decisions, and decide they will leave to spend more time with their families.

Here's a quote from one of Bush's legion:

"The shift from campaigning to governing has perhaps not been as quick as everybody hoped." Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio

Well, no sh*t, Mike. Everybody on the left knows it takes junior a little time to get his ass moving.

This is news? What else could you expect from a sitting president who has no experience himself, who hide during VietNam, who depended on daddy's friends & connections, who couldn't even run a business, let alone a country, and this surprises people! Putting in less experienced people than yourself, makes you look like a genius. Dubya must be so proud!!
