Only 400 people showed up

Only 400 people showed up

at the national mall today for a counter-protest in support of the Iraq war. Yesterday, 100,000-300,000 people filled the streets of D.C. to protest the Iraq war.

I did notice that those few folks were addressed by the likes of Liddy and Colson. Isn’t it interesting that the pro-war supporters get convicted felons(particularly ones whose crimes were in attacking the core elements of the US Constitution) while the anti-war masses received speeches from the innocent.

  2. Mary Poppin says:

Maybe the people in america will wake up. The congressman from AL. does not speak for all the american people. They will lose in the election of 2006. The Democrat will win.

  3. Innocent Bystander says:

“I did notice that those few folks were addressed by the likes of Liddy and Colson.”

I noticed that too. What were missing were more Republican scam artists, war profiteers, lobbyists, pedophiles, and wife beaters. Where were the Party faithful? You’d think they’d have gotten all hands on deck after yesterday’s Peace rally. Did Karl misplace the calling tree?

I’d like to thank Kristinn Taylor at FreeRepublic for organizing this farce…nothing could have underscored the total lack of support for this administration’s policies than that busted counter-rally.

  4. twoplustwoisfour says:

    Keep it up reichpublicans.

  5. Ellis says:

“Maybe the people in america will wake up”

They have awakened, and don’t like what they see. What’s being delivered by the administration is not what was sold, and the American people are fed up with it. And, I’m not suggesting that “what was sold” was wonderful by any stretch of the imagination.

  6. Rotwang says:

The posters at Little Green Footballs are performing gymnastic feats of logic to explain the low turnout. Apparently, pro-war conservatives have jobs and families and “grown-up” obligations that make it inconvenient for them to attend these noble gatherings. They’d love to show their support for the troops and the President and whatnot, but this is really the last good weekend to weed’n'feed the lawn and winterize the 4X4.

  7. Patriot says:

    “Support the troops”=it’s over.

  8. katy says:

One of today’s pro-war demonstrators, Melody Vigna said:
“Our troops are over there fighting for our rights, and if she (Cindy) was in one of those countries she would not be able to do that,”
Could somebody please explain this logic to me; how do some people come up with such ideas? Seriously…I am so saddened by the division, such disparity among our “fellow” countrymen…how can we, the country, ever heal and work together, ever again?…….so much animosity…scary times…….

  9. Ryan Neat says:

The reichwingers typically overestimate how many people actually believe on them. A few of them like Rove actually realize that most people disagree with their policies – that’s why he organized the rigging of texas election machines and the rest of the nation…

  10. wisedup says:

I couldn’t be more pleased. I see NOTHING on CNN at all about the ’stupid 400′…lololol. OK o’wrongly/limpdick,lets see your spin on this!…and I didn’t see them there eather?..hmmmmmmmmm

  11. Ellis says:

    7. “Apparently, pro-war conservatives have jobs and families and “grown-up” obligations” — LMAO … as if those on the left don’t?

    9. Katy, there is no explanation for the right’s self righteousness and inbred feelings of importance. They are an angry, loathing lot that have no patience for anyone or anything that differs from their biased, tunnel vision of the world.

  12. Ryan Neat says:

Apparently, pro-war conservatives have jobs and families and “grown-up” obligations” — LMAO

    On Sunday?

    Bahahaha

Now that’s a delusional fantasy if I’ve ever heard one!

I read reports of those 400 people driving from all over the country. What are republicans too cheap, or ineffective to coordinate air fare, vacations or church events to demostrate their patriotism? Are they saying a soccer game or church is more important than their patriotism?

Wow these people have no values!

  13. Sharon Cox says:

I posted my response on the rally on the other thread. Sorry, just wanted to get it out there. Even Bill O Riley is wineing in his column today. What’s happening folks is the rat’s have left the ship. Oh excuse me again, dingy. Lot’s of reporters on the news from the right and center saying Katrina and the slow response is not helping Bush. No matter what he does it is not working. Are we holding a grudge, well I am. O Riley think’s it’s going to take something realy big to pull up the polls, since so many now have joined the disaprovel ranks. One N.Y reporter this morning made a comment that 30% of the right have now gone over to the left and anti war groups and a lot of the right is upset about the debt and china holding the paper. Many are also upset about the administrations handling of enviroment and oil issues. How about that. If they aren’t in church and listening to their Pat Robertsons guess it could be true. I”m hope full……Blessings.

  14. Ellis says:

    14. Those in the churches listening to Robertson et al will never waver from their misguided approach and vision. The extremists will always exist, but they are not the ones who carry the day. It’s the vast majority in the middle, and they are seeing things for what they are … and aren’t.

  15. Einstein says:

    300,000 / 400

    420 = .0014% of 300,000

  16. Blue State Red says:

    (Yawn)

Left me know when the left manages to organize a REAL crowd. I was part of the Promise Keepers’ “Sacred Assembly” in October 1997, which filled the National Mall with over 750,000 Christian men, wall-to-wall from the Capitol steps out past the Washington monument.

By the way, counterpdemonstrations are almost always small by comparison. The counter-demonstrators in our case were mostly radical feminists who apparently were offended at the sight of a large group of men professing their belief in the virtues of honesty, fidelity, compassion and faith. Some of them were so upset that they took their shirts off. Man, left wing women are ugly!

  17. Nancy L. says:

Liddy and Colson, and who says crime doesn’t pay! Guess they saw an opening, so to get back into the game, they’re spouting this Admin.’s rhetoric. Shouldn’t they be retired, playing golf or in a hursing home by now. Personally, I thought they were fairly old when they were with Nixon.

Loved the numbers of marchers. 400 showed up, to support this wonderful administration and great president? That’s all they could drag out? How impressive. Now we have the ‘Infamous 400′ groupies, as opposed to the hundred thousands’ folks for ‘Truth, Justice and the American Way’.
Does this mean, if the enemy comes a’knocking at our doors, then the Right is going to be too busy doing “grown-up” things, to protect themselves? I doubt any enemy is going to observe the sanctity of mowing the lawn, pulling weeds or listening to Fathead Robertson.

Check out the photo at http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/050924/ids_photos_ts/r324680482.jpg

Judging from this shot of the Ellipse, there appear to have been far less than 100,000 protesters at Saturday’s A.N.S.W.E.R. rally – and we haven’t even discounted out those who were paid to attend (you know, like those Milwaukee “voters” a couple years ago). The Kos estimate of 500,000 must be the product of drugs, dishonesty or quadruple counting. Take your pick.

  19. Clyde the Ripper says:

The righties weren’t there on Sunday because their boss at Wal-Mart wouldn’t let them have the day off. They had to sell the champaigne to those that were celebrating Saturday! The End Is Near!!

  20. Clyde the Ripper says:

    BSR

That photo was taken after the A.N.S.W.E.R speakers were finished and asked all the supporters to go across the Elipse to another presentation. You need to get a new contact lens for your navel. Your rectal-cranial insertion is becoming dangerous to your health.

  21. Sharon Cox says:

Funny you should bring up the Promise Keepers Blue State Red. For several years I worked with battered and abused women and children. Had to find them safe houses away from their abusive husbands and fathers, Guess what, nearly all of them from 1996 to 2000 were Promise Keepers. Isn’t that odd. Yah and their husbands went to that very event. I just recently worked for a man who was also a promise keeper and the most radical right wing christian I have ever met. When George went to bombing Iraq he was so crazed I quit my job. His treatment to his wife and children was one step away from lunatic, dictator. Sad. I’m hopeful they are not all that way but all of them I met were…Blessings…

  22. Blue State Red says:

    This just in:

An overnight poll conducted by the Gallup organization indicates that at least 99.99 percent of Americans were not, repeat not, in Washington D.C. on Saturday, September 24th, the day of a so-called anti-war rally organized by the Stalinist group A.N.S.W.E.R.

Close examination of the poll results shows that, out of approximately 300 million Americans nationwide, less than 100,000 actually showed up on the Ellipse, where the protest was held. Protest organizers insist that the true attendance figure was 100,000 to 300,000. However, even the larger of these figures would only represent one one-thousandth of all Americans.

The poll results were consistent throughout all demographics groups, in that virtually all poll respondents said thay hade eschewed the Washington protest in favor of going about their daily lives, regardless of their age, sex, race, religion, party or voting habits.

Not Surprisingly, the poor turnout produced a plethora of conspiracy theories. “We ran out of busses,” complained one rally organizer. “That war criminal George Bush and his Halliburton cronies comandeered all the available busses for their so-called hurricane evacuations, which everyone knows was just an excuse to depress attendance at our rally. Impeach Bush and Cheney!”

Poor A.N.S.W.E.R. I guess anti-war rallies just ain’t what they used to be.

  23. Clyde the Ripper says:

The actual count for Saturday is obviously impossible to ascertain but a series of statistical projections using density factors at key locations, timed samples, transit movement loads, and other data have placed the true count to over 600,000 total participants over the time frame.

    See http://www.storytimedolls.net/mmff.html

  24. Blue State Red says:

“…a series of statistical projections using density factors at key locations, timed samples, transit movement loads, and other data have placed the true count to over 600,000 total participants over the time frame.”

In other words, at most, two one-thousandths of all Americans. And just think, with the 24/7 wall-to-wall hurricane coverage, just about nobody saw you on TV! Hey now, that’s impressive!

  25. Sharon Cox says:

Don’t care what any on the right say, saw for myself on C-span and heard from all the reporters this morning including the Ny Times and talk news including my Seattle paper. The anti war rally was a big sucess…Bushes backers are backing away from him. He can’t do anything (right). We are gaining momentum and people are waking up. His numbers are in the toilet and the American public are about to flush them all….Blessings

  26. RLG says:

    Blue State Red

I guess they aren’t but I find it ironic that only 400 showed to protest the protesters. :D You do not have an arguement.

  27. Ryan Neat says:

600,000 americans of all parties who showed up to demostrate that reichwing republicans are stupid lazy and incompetent.

400 republicans who showed up and proved they were right.

Now matter how you do the statistics, the reichwingers look once again like the stupid, inept and lazy fat asses that anyone who’s ever seen limbaugh knows they are…

RedAndDeadInTheHead, how much did you lose on atkins, only to gain it back and more?

  28. Elvis says:

    BSR,

Go back and look at your photo from #19. There are thousands of people filing out of the area across the bottom of the photo to the left and right on the street.

Over 50% of Americans now believe that the war in Iraq is not only wrong, but not winnable. Less than 39% approve of Bush and his policies.

You can make up all the news and figures you want. The facts show you that you’re wrong.

“States are not moral agents.” –Chomsky

  29. Elvis says:

    BSR,

If you feel that the war is a good thing, and is winnable, why do I not find any of your posts in the comment area for this article: ” Exclusive: Former Head of U.S. Central Command Blasts Administration Over Iraq” which is on the same page as this “protest” article?

Here is a four star Marine Corps General, arguably one of the most dedicated of U.S. service members to serve his country these days. Why aren’t you arguing his points?

“States are not moral agents.” -Chomsky

  30. Ryan Neat says:

    Elvis,

Didn’t you know that anyone who questions this dictator just hates america and american values? Didn’t you know that freedom of speech applies only for people who agree with the dictator?

These schmucks live in a cognitive disconnect – anything that shows that they’re stupid morons are rejected and intentionally forgotten so they don’t have to realize that they’re ignorant zombies that are so stupid that a semi-retarded texan that looks like howdie doodie duped them! But unfortunately for them that IS reality, even if they refuse to reject it…

  31. Clyde the Ripper says:

Anyone who watched the MSM coverage of the Houston evacuation FUBAR directed by the FEMA Bushco where the average individual speed of evacuation was probably less than 2 MPH for less than 1 million people can understand the dedication, planning, coordination, and cooperation required to move 600,000 demonstrators into and out of DC without traffic jams, delays, stalled cars, or Repug police interference. “The time has come,” the Walrus said, “to speak of many things. Of shoes, of ships, of sealing wax, and cabbages and Kings. Of whether the sea is boiling hot or if pigs have wings?” But answer there came not one, you see, because the Lefties have beaten every one.” My apologies to Lewis Carrol.

  32. James says:

Fair and Balanced reports a counter rally of 400 with more breathlessness than the primary rally of 100,000 admitted and 300,000 alleged. I suppose Faux News does their best to level the playing field.

  33. Patriot says:

It is time to start drawing the future in our minds. It won’t be long before NOT having a policy of sound energy independent of Muslims will be a liability for politicians, regardless of affiliation.
The future is clean, efficient, population controlled, moral, and peaceful.
Bushco look at China, for example, and want to affect change via trade which ultimately will translate into the conversion to Christianity which will provide the ultimate benefit of “eliminating abortion” in that country. This is failed policy, on many levels. It “creates jobs” and does the economic cycle thing, but in the long run resources are maxed, and everyone dies.
It’s no different in Muslim lands. The oil will end, and we will have to start over if there is any atmosphere or clean air left. It’s failed policy. The Arabs will leave us alone if we get off their land. Hell, they may even sell us the oil on better terms than the Saudis. And if they f*ck us with terror after all the good will trading? Nuke ‘em. We can recover from a nuke long before we can recover from a 1000 year cycle of global warming caused by fossil fuel pollution.
We have to stop going to war for oil.

  34. Canadian Bystander says:

I know I’m a northern pinko and all, but does it really matter how many people show up, or what Bush’s approval ratings are? The invasion/occupation of Iraq was wrong, simple as that. If 99.9% of Americans (or even North Americans…) still approved of it, it would not be the slightest bit less evil.

I don’t mean to sound so sanctimonious, and I know most of this is just trash-talk from the bleachers, but it’s a point that gets trampled in the rush to post new favourable poll results and the like. The numbers game is a trap – argue the morality. It’s nice to see more Americans getting sick of Bush, but what happens if something happens that shoots his approval rating back up? Do you just go back to dismissing them?

  35. Ryan Neat says:

    CB,

Those of us in the right agree with you – that’s why we protest and stand vocally on sites like this. The problem is that the american reichwing are fascists, and they believe torture is a GOOD thing. They’re truly insane, and just be grateful they aren’t rigging your elections and running your country!

  36. Patriot says:

    Canadian Bystander,

You make a good point. US citizens have learned their lesson with 911. And democrats like myself are giving democratic leaders hell. Both dems and repubs are split. It is very ugly. I don’t think congress wants to go through that again.
They tried to scare us too many times with bogus Homeland Security alerts. Now we are weary of the alerts, AND we know the Homeland Security dept. is a sham. We’ve seen it first hand with Katrina.

The biggest lesson in all of this, and the thing that will prevent another illegal war, is the absence of an enemy territory. And americans will not be lied to again about weapons of mass desrtuction.

  38. Canadian Bystander says:

They haven’t started rigging our elections yet (that I know of ), and they don’t fullyt run my country (yet), but they are just fine with grabbing our citizens at the airport and shipping them off in the night to be tortured. (To Syria, for nearly a year, in the case of Arar – the new US ambassador just said there was nothing to apologize for, and it would probably happen again.)

  39. Clyde the Ripper says:

    Canadian Neighbor,

You have asked the question that some of us southerners ask ourselves. What will happen if the devil made him do it–whatever it is that he does to keep out of jail? If we can’t beat him can we come live with you? Hopefully your Northern Pinko, with all due respect, anti-Bush attitudes will prevail here. As far as the Bushcos go the only thing pink that they recognize is the color of GASOLINE and DUHbya’s behind after Uncle Dick and Daddy get through beating it. Thanks for caring and keep on plugging!

  40. dano347 says:

Just think; if all of the four hundred who showed up had contributed just $1.50, they would have equalled the total amount contributed so far ($600.00) to the Iraq war fund!

  41. Ryan Neat says:

    dano,

    Bahaha, very funny!

I bet the republicans are telling themselves the same thing the do when noone shows up at one of their boring parties. “Well everyone was just too busy to come!”. How pathetic!!!! Bahaha, it’s painfully funny!!!

Wow! Diebold must have done the counting, huh?

And, by the way, what percentage of three hundred million Americans does 400 represent? How’s that for support for the War?

  43. Clyde the Ripper says:

    Tony C,

Shame on you! You are not allowed to point out such glaring misconceptions to the Bushies! A fact, my friend, is only a fact if it supports the talking point that the Bushco has approved. The percentage of 400 vs 300,000,000 is 100% of those we want to listen to. Wake Up! The math you learned in school has been replaced with DUHbyamatics. You ain’t gonna win Baby! But don’t give up! Our day is coming!

  44. Marie says:

What can the counter-protestors say — that they like war? That we’re fighting for freedom? After we destroyed their country for no reason and killed their citizens; but now they have the “vote.” Under their dictator Hussein, women had freedom, they had city services, they had commerce, and they had order. Now they have none of that and our guys are dying for nothing. We have caused that country to return to fundamentalism and friendship with Iran.
I was there Saturday. It was a peaceful march/demonstration and despite what #19 says — there were no less than 100,000 people there.

  45. Marie says:

BSR sounds desperate to make a case here. It’s a lost cause. Tha nation is turning against Bush.

  46. Sharon Cox says:

Glad your back, missed you Marie. Watched the c-span coverage, it was great. Caught a little of the tiny right wing rally today. The wind has shifted in our favor. The public is finelly showing up and listening, the reporters all over the country have stated bush is in the toilet. ….Blessings

  47. Marie says:

Thanks, Sharon, It was very encouraging to see the number of people from all walks of life, of all ages, demonstrating against Bush and his war. The march got off to a late start because they were waiting for some buses that were held up on the road because a bridge was in the “up” position for worker crews (coincidental timing?)and there was an electrical problem with the trains coming in from Boston and other cities (another early morning coincidence) so the riders held spontaneous demonstrations right in the depots. But as time went on, most people eventually got there and it was an impressive showing.

  48. Ryan Neat says:

    Marie,

Thanks for standing up and being counted – you’re my hero!

Watching the coverage of today’s embarrassment was like watching the Katrina reports. It made you ask – where are all of the people? Same problem – inept leadership – made both situations failures for bush…

  49. KillCon NOW! says:

Blood is the only thing “red” you will ever get in this country. Bloody red bloody. Take you theofascism to someplace where it’s still legal. It ain’t legal or constitutional here.

  50. KillCon NOW! says:

BSR has been cancelled, not for lack of interest but ardent and militant opposition to what he stands for.

Approaching the dawn of the new millennium, Promise Keepers planned another very big event. “Hope for a New Millennium: Light the Night,” was billed as “the follow-up march to ‘Stand in the Gap,’” writes John P. Bartkowski, author of the soon-to-be-published “The Promise Keepers: Servants, Soldiers, and Godly Men” (Rutgers University Press, 2003). “The goal was ambitious — have PK men across America descend on capitol buildings in each of the fifty states at midnight on January 1, 2000.” The event was cancelled and the organization “lost much of its newsworthiness,” Bartkowski writes.

“In the blink of an eye, the high-profile media attention PK once enjoyed had evaporated. Gone was coverage of massive PK stadium conferences and the personal testimonials of lives changed that had graced the covers and feature stories of all the nation’s top weekly news magazines. And front-page headlines captured so effectively by the group suddenly became a distant memory.” Promise Keepers receded into the evangelical shadowlands.

The organization’s annual budget dropped from $117 million in 1997 to $34 million in 2001. This budget continues to fall — but still stands at a respectable $27 million. According to the Washington Times’ Duin, “The fees were re-instituted in 2000″ — $79 for adults and $59 for children. “Because each seat costs Promise Keepers about $119,” Duin writes, Promise Keepers “has to raise the difference. Small donors provide $13 million of the budget; gate receipts and large donors make up the rest.”

  54. Lyle says:

    100,000 – 300,000 people? Your kidding right?

  55. Red Is RDead says:

400 people was an exaggeration. More like 200.

  56. The Northeast Dilemma says:

Yes, we are saving our energy for election day. Are you?

  57. Concerned Conservative says:

Arguing over how many people came out for wither side is pointless. These are not statistically equivalent samples of the pro and anti war groups so you can’t translate the numbers into conclusions around support (or lack of support) for the war. Clearly polls are more accurate in this regard and they obviously show erosion of support for the war.

  58. Marie says:

#55, I don’t know if there were 300,000 at the demonstration, but there were more than 100,000. We met with people who had attended many demonstrations in the past, we met people who live in DC who have witnessed many events, we heard from policemen and business owners and they all seemed to believe it was more than 100,000.
From the ground, we only knew we were part of a sea of people; later, we met people on the subway, and at the airport, in restaurants.

  59. Marie says:

#58, You’re right. Counting protestors is like reading an on-line poll — the accurate polls are professionally taken demographically. It is encouraging to see so many people who disrupted their lives to speak out, and extrapolating from there, it is equally encouraging to note that it may be another sign of the decline in support for the war.
Bush’s popularity is down, support for the administration and the war is down, scandals are simmering, and people are growing aware. Sadly, Bush is “locked in” for his term, however, but the elections in 2006 will change the tide.

  60. Patriot says:

    Lyle,
Your brevity is failing to hide your softness.

  61. Leatherneck says:

NED and Concerned Conservative obviously haven’t caught on yet: people in this country are getting fed up with Bush’s Iraqi War crap. Never mind Cindy Sheehan, even the former NFL player and war hero Pat Tillman was critical of Bush and was against the War in Iraq. And don’t give me the same old song about how he enlisted to go fight. Like Sheehan’s son, he enlisted to go fight bin Laden and get the terrorists who attacked us on 9-11.

Most of us have not bought into combining the war in Afganistan and the war in Iraq into one global entity that conservatives call the “war on terror.” All the fakery and chicanery used by Bush/Cheney has only allowed the dumbest and most easily brainwashed in our society to make a close connection of two separate wars, both fought for two entirely different reasons.

They ain’t buying the BS, anymore, dipsticks.

  62. Massachusetts Liberal says:

Canadian Bystander —- Thank you. The sad truth is that the fluctuating polls obscure the issues and arguments. Bush’s ratings were very very high right after 9/11/2001, after he had spent the summer in a haze and the first 8 months of his presidency ignoring the al Quaeda threat, despite the clear warnings of the previous administration.

  63. twoplustwoisfour says:

#57 (troll) sounds like a supporter of Robert Mugabe.

  64. Randy says:

The protest on Saturday was a complete waste of time. They are not going to sway public opinion because no one takes them seriously. The support for the war in Iraq has declined but not for the reasons you think it has. We need to fight the war differently. Not worry so much about how our actions are to be viewed here or abroad, but get the job done and then get out. We let Al Qaeda back into Falludga and Basra and we need to secure the border with Syria. If you honestly think that a few thousand protesters are going to make Bush rethink this, I’d say guess again.

  65. Elvis says:

    NED,

Simply claiming/acting/voting like you belong to a specific political party does not mean that you do. In order to say “we” in your statement in #57, and have it hold water, you must be involved. You must be one of the people who are actually going to run for office, or work for them. Otherwise you’re just a parasite, once again, a cheerleader. Because you are not “saving” any of your energy for the election time, unless it takes everything you have to walk down to the voting booth.

This is yet another example of your pathetic need to “belong” to the “winning” side. Your obvious fear of failure.

“Only those who slavishly worship success can think that effectiveness is admirable, without regard to what is affected.” -Bertrand Russell

  66. Canadian Bystander says:

Randy, I am cynical enough to agree that the current low support for the war has probably less to do with people taking a good hard look at reality than I’d like, but on the other hand, does this seem familiar?:

anti-war: Don’t do it, it’s wrong and you will mess it up.

pro-war: shut up, it’s right and it’ll work.

    [repeat ad nauseum until invasion]

anti-war: stop it, it’s wrong and you are messing it up.

pro-war: shut up, it’s going fine. and it’s still the right thing to do.

    [repeat for two years]

anti-war: stop it, it’s wrong and you fucked it up.

pro-war: now’s not the time to talk about these things! It’s a mess and you have to help clean it up!!!

And no, Bush will not re-think anything. I’ll give you that. I’m sure you believe that’s something to be proud of.

  67. Ryan Neat says:

What would happen if you were in high school and you threw a giant party and no one but the tiny religious fanatics club showed up? You’d know you were an unpopular dope!

Well guess what we just witnessed this weekend – the truth that this administration is about as popular as the science team used to be in high school! I think most high school students would get the message, too bad the republican adults are SO MUCH MORE STUPID!!!

    Bahahahaha

  68. Randy says:

    Ryan,

If we are so stupid, tell me then, why do we continue to win elections and you and your party have fallen into the minority? (DO NOT TELL ME WE HAVE STOLEN THE ELECTIONS EITHER BECAUSE WE BOTH KNOW THAT IS NOT TRUE.)

  69. Pete Bogs says:

For anyone doing the math, only about 2% of the total number of people expected at the anti-anti-war rally actually showed up (400 vs. 20,000). And, of course, the president’s appeal for Iraq reconstruction donations isn’t seeing a whole lot of givers. It’s not just polls that prove the war in Iraq is getting less popular by the minute.

  70. Ryan Neat says:

And the truth comes out. Suddenly the “I’m not with bush guy” claims “we win elections”, implying that he is in fact a lying republican hiding under libertarian clothes.

You don’t like the answer, but it’s because you continue to steal them…

I know you don’t like the truth, and therefore you put your hands over your ears like a little girl, but it’s the truth.

Even Carter admitted it last week, and he’s used by the pentagon to monitor international elections because of his expertise in the matter…

I’ve read the reports, I’ve looked at the math – have you? If you haven’t then you’re a stupid idiot!

Here’s a page to get started

    http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/2004votefraud_1142004.html

If you care about this country as you CLAIM, go do the math and educate yourself. You’ve clearly been duped. If you don’t have the time or the willingness to do so, then you clearly don’t want to learn the truth…

  71. Ryan Neat says:

Oh, and I forgot to ask,

Is that why bush and republicans all poll so poorly now? Because you guys are so ‘good’ at winning elections?

See it’s easier to cheat during an election than it is during an administration. When you cheat during an election they make you president. When you cheat during an administration you destroy the economy, and people die… Oh wait, yeah, you guys definitely are lying cheaters…

  72. Ryan Neat says:

    And randy,

Did I forget to mention that 2 republican election officials in Ohio were just INDICTED for the 2004 election? The corporate media tries to protect your weak ears from the truth, but it’s there…

Care to have a link which talks about the charges against them?

Apparently more are coming – see there are enough democrats still in power in Ohio that they’ve been able to actually investigate the crimes. The federal government has become a dictatorship, so no laws get enforced except the ones the fuhrer wants…

  73. Pete Bogs says:

I just tried to post a reply to “What If They Gave a Protest and Nobody Came?” over on Little Green Footballs… seems they’ve turned the comments tool OFF… I guess I’ll have to wait to point out to them, as I did above, that attendance at Sunday’s anti-anti-war protest was only 2% of the expected number!

  74. Randy says:

    Ryan,

I want there to be free and fair elections in this country as well but you have to also realize that politics is a dirty business. There is every bit as much deceit and corruption going on with the democratic party as well. I want to see in 2008, a national voter id card with photo to prevent fraudulent votes. In addition, a paper receipt from any electronic voting machine so that you would know immediately afterward to which candidates you voted for. After these and other measures have been taken, what excuse are you going to come up with after losing in ‘08?

  75. Elvis says:

    Randy,

A fair and honest debate is one where either both sides agree to the rules before hand, or neither side sets stipulations as to what can or cannot be discussed. So saying “DO NOT TELL ME WE HAVE STOLEN THE ELECTIONS EITHER BECAUSE WE BOTH KNOW THAT IS NOT TRUE” is not acceptable, seeing as there is evidence that it happened during both elections, then it is a valid topic AND that there is know way you know what or anyone else on this site knows. So the very basis of your statement is invalid.

You see, there is a theory that the chances of someone winning the lottery is something like 1:33,000,000. But as soon as someone buys a ticket, it becomes a PROBABLITY of 1:33,000,000. Before looking for evidence, it is a theory that the elections were rigged. But as soon as 1 piece of evidence is found, it is no longer is a theory, it becomes a possibility. Therefore, again, it’s a valid argument and belongs in any debate about the validity of Bush’s presidency.

Now, in regards to you and yours continuing to through the elections in everyone’s faces, it’s your sad attempt to hang on to something that you may or may not have done correct. Because the Bush Administration has done little else for you to stand on.

“Only those who slavishly worship success can think that effectiveness is admirable, without regard to what is affected.” -Bertrand Russell

  76. Canadian Bystander says:

Once again, why are you playing the numbers game? It’s a trap, and the same game played by people who want ID taught alongside evolution because “the community demands it.”

I know, I know – this is all trash-talk and comeuppance, but it’s pointless. The Iraq war was wrong when a majority supported it (not quite, I know), and it’s wrong now. It will still be wrong if a majority supports it again.

And anyway, a majority disapprove now because they are impatient, because there have been no positive effects, and because nearly 2000 American soldiers have died – NOT because they are all reading The Nation or ThinkProgress and have completely altered their thinking about the use of the military of the sovereignty of nations, etc..

  77. Ryan Neat says:

“he Iraq war was wrong when a majority supported it (not quite, I know), and it’s wrong now. It will still be wrong if a majority supports it again.”

yes, but at the time we went to war with Iraq the majority of americans were fed the lies that Saddam was behind 9/11 and that he was planning to use WMDs against us at that moment. Congress was fed the same fabricated evidence, and they came on the news (even democrats) saying the war was justified.

It’s since become clear that this entire war was a scam from the Israeli Zionists in the pentagon and the Oil idiots of the Republican/NeoCon cult. I knew the administration was lying, and I was always against the war, but many reasonable americans didn’t (and frankly still don’t because of the propaganda that is fed by the corporate press and war machine).

The majority doesn’t just disapprove because they are impatient, they disapprove because more and more have discovered they were lied to. And the number grows daily. You forget that in canada you have a more free press, americans get nearly 100% of their news from 7 major corporations, all with deep ties and deep contributions and kickbacks from the republican party. This means they act as a nazi propaganda mouthpiece for the oil and war machine. It takes us longer to get the real news, so have patience while we fight these bastards and take back our democracy! We’re in it for the long victory, but republicans tend to get lazy and give up – so you just have to be willing to allow us to politically strangle this movement into the dust where it belongs!

  78. Jane E. Schneider says:

Randy: Bush never THINKS anything, so he NEVER RE-THINKS anything. And the reasons why Repugnicants used to win elections are a) they LIE, and b) they CHEAT.

  79. Mary says:

Tell me people in all honesty, is Bush a simple-minded fool that just makes mistakes or is he the puppet to the (hidden)puppet master? I mean, he’s making America look bad. We are supposed to show how good democracy, home values, and free economy is to the rest of the world. Instead we have a 3rd world crisis on our on doorstep, and a bid to exert a regime on people that blow themselves up for martyrdom. I hope on that Domeafavorbuddy.com website I can post a favor to Dubya to tell us the damn truth!

  80. Ryan Neat says:

If you threw a party and no one showed up – how would you feel? Like a republican! Like a failure! But wait – that’s the same thing!

    Bahahahaha

    WHAT LOSERS!!!!

  81. Nunyabiz says:

Get a grip on reality. I was there on the 24th and the crowd was HUGE!.
I’ve been to several Mardi Gras and other events where there were from 500,000 up to over a Million people.
This crowd was EASILY in the 500K range as it was sidewalk to sidewalk 25-35 abreast for over 3.5 MILES.

    http://win20ca.audiovideoweb.com/ca20win15004/DCMARCH2005512K.wmv

    http://www.velvetrevolution.us/Video/peace_rally1.mov

    http://www.ameratsu.com/media/vid/indy/dk_dc_peace_rally1_050924a.wmv

25-35 abreast non-stop just like this for about 5 hours is obviously to anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together a lot more than 150K.

    http://win20ca.audiovideoweb.com/ca20win15004/march512K.wmv

There were bus loads of people there from every state.

Meanwhile how many were at that PRO-War rally again? Oh yeah ONE busload LOL

Here ya go count them. I did while I was there, I never could count more than 147 actually so 400 is WAY over inflated even LOL

    rtsp://video.c-span.org/archive/iraq/iraq092505_honorrally.rm?mode=compact

I think the question that should be asked is WHY the Mainstream media flatly refuses to cover 100s of 1000s of people marching on Washington DC, yet covers something as ridiculous as the Shaivo case ad nauseam.
We have a Lame Duck idiot in the Whitehouse that is a total failure, his poll numbers are in the 30s and falling, he LIES continuously, forced us into a unjust illegal war based on LIES, is robbing the country blind, has stolen two elections through massive voter fraud & gerrymandering, so what exactly is it going to take?
