In his radio address today,

President Bush said more Iraqi security forces are able to operate without U.S. assistance, directly contradicting testimony of the top U.S. commander in Iraq.

To be fair, I believe he was refering to the insurgents being able to “operate without U.S. assistance”.

Yes, there are three groups able to fight along with Americans, but only one is able to fight alone.
Gen. Casey faced withering criticism this week; then we have Bush painting a far more rosy picture. He is delusional, operating in a schizophrenic administration. Bush is Baghdad Bob redux.
This is way too serious to make light of, but this is like a Grade B movie.

Why do we bother? You know his response: (http://www.storytimedolls.net/mmff.html.

I apologize to those that have been there but I believe every little bit helps. Please help me and send stuff that I can use. Thanks.

Given the response to yesterday’s thread on this subject there is just no point in trying to convince the right wingnuts of the duplicity of the bushco. I have no verification, pro or con, of the Marine In Bagdad, but I highly suspect he was a Daddy Troll. The shrub and his sycophants will say ANYTHING to supposedly strengthen their position and there are fools that believe them. Even in my own family, after fifty years of telling everybody that would listen that my Momma only raised one fool and he lives in S****, he still is a die hard Repug. He is still a fool and his compadres still live all over the country. We have pest control companies all over the place. Does anyone know the number of a good “Fool Control” company?

Maybe if Bush is on this kick of going to Ground Zero in places that he wishes to help like New Orleans, he should make a stop in Iraq. It’s a war zone he says? Well, not only is he apparently a superb and accomplished soldier, he went to New Orleans where he was told of gunfire.

And besides, we’re controlling the oil over there, so his plane should have no problem filling up his airplane. (I know, the oil has to be made into gas first – but I’m not a stand up comic, I can’t construct jokes).

Oh, and he’ll be even further from his least favorite mother, Cindy Sheehan.

But honestly, do you think we’re making enough progress for Bush to be comfortable going to Iraq himself?

The only reason Bush told the people a contradiction in his radio address is because he only hires people who will tell him what he wants to hear. So like the good Bush boy that he is, the commander will lie for the president, and then be honest with the American people. Simple!

  6. Patriot says:

I think the idea is having several bits conficting information to mask the fact there are 2 stories.

  7. venum says:

Why does Bush continue to lie about this? Doesn’t he know to lie to him.

  8. spyder says:

It seems to me that Bush continues to be ever more firmly held in check by his bubble handlers, who hand him speeches and deprive him of access to any outside information what soever. Thus he isn’t aware he is lying, he is merely reporting what he is told. He will never hear what Casey said to Congress, and therefore not aware that he was completely contradicting his own general. It is all part of the faith-based realities that are created around Bush by those who are totally happy letting him think he is in charge and knows what is going on. The more he drinks or whatever he is using to assuage his stresses, the more his bubble will tighten…
