More trouble for DeLay.
TIME reports, “[A] federal investigation into the spreading scandal around disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, accused with Michael Scanlon (a former press secretary of DeLay’s) of bilking their Indian-tribe clients out of $66 million, has begun lapping at the edges of the former majority leader’s operation.”

DeLay ran the House like a his own shakedown enterprise. The Republican Syndicate with Don Tom at the top. Really, organized crime has morphed into the 21st Century Republican Party.

October 3rd, 2005 at 12:19 amThis is all well and good, but unless the Democrats can pull their heads out of their asses and actually come up with a coherent message, it’s just another 3 ring circus with a side show. The left has a sparkeling opportunity, I just hope they are smart enough, bold enough, and good enough to take it. Otherwise, it’s just going to be forgotten by the time of the 06 campaign. One thing you can count on, the short attention span of the American population. Just as with the Rove scandal, a new supreme court nominee takes the spotlight off the scandal.
