Set your TiVos. Bill O’Reilly targets blogs on tonight’s Factor:
Personal attacks lodged through the internet!
How are so-called “Web logs” being used as ideological weapons? And who’s behind the smear campaigns?
We’ll have a No Spin look at a dangerous new weapon in the culture wars!
We’re sure it will be an informed, reasoned discussion, especially considering O’Reilly doesn’t even read blogs:
AUTHOR BERNARD GOLDBERG: There are some conservatives on the list ["100 People Who Are Screwing Up America"], but there are mostly liberals. And when they could write unanimously on the Web, you know, a review or post.
O’REILLY: Blogs. I don’t even read them. I mean, it’s so outrageous.
GOLDBERG: It’s beyond — it’s beyond vile.
O’REILLY: Let’s go to the — look, that’s just a waste of time. You shouldn’t even read it. It’s garbage. Nobody cares about it. Everybody knows the simpletons who are doing it are cowards and they don’t have any influence. [7/18/05]
UPDATE: Crooks & Liars has more.
Guess we’re being read our last rights.
October 4th, 2005 at 4:48 pmOh yeah? Powerline too?
October 4th, 2005 at 4:50 pmLOL — O’Reilly hates the blogs because they keep pointing out his BS.
October 4th, 2005 at 4:50 pmBilly boy is scared, and rightly so.

October 4th, 2005 at 4:52 pmWhen a blog exposes his many lies, that blog is “personally attacking” him. Give me a break.
October 4th, 2005 at 4:56 pmHey Billie Goat–What was a “waste”–Bernie’s book? You’re right–no one should even read it. It’s “so outrageous” and “vile”, “garbage”. I mean, 100 People Who Are Ruining American–and you aren’t even listed!
October 4th, 2005 at 4:56 pmA couple of weeks ago OReilly was going on about sexual predators, how they all, no matter the circumstances, should be registeed.
I immediately went to the computer and asked him if he was registeed as a sexual predator. Of course I got no answer, but I just wanted to let him know that his sexual harassment thiing was not forgotten.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:00 pmSo much time spent talking about us wonderful people.
Thanks O’Scumbag but your opinion still means nothing to us wonderful people.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:05 pmJust like the tactics used by THEM with 30 second smear commercials. Well, they are just acting like angry little children that didn’t get the toy first. HA!
October 4th, 2005 at 5:06 pmRegardelss on my feelings about O’Rielly, it think because he’s old school, O’Rielly relies on being able to say things with a half-life of one second – you say it and it disappears into the ether.
Media doesn’t work like that anymore, what you say can recorded, re-played (sometimes out of context), remixed, and – ultimately – fact checked. the fact that he is so deliberately behind on this concept – and that he gets so worked up that he can’t think through what he is about to say – makes him the Media Matters hall-of-famer that he is.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:12 pmDidn’t he mean “anonymously?”
October 4th, 2005 at 5:15 pmQuestion: Does anybody here have any knowledge of the writings of “Nastradamous” (sp?)
My neighbor told me a bit of his writings today. She said that he predicted that when the twins fall and the city below the sea is destroyed, the leader of the free world will be assasinated. (Not exact words)
Does the prophecy ring a bell to anyone? Curious.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:16 pmDamn, I’m so hoping he’ll pick me. I have this really nifty “Separated At Birth” feature with Splotchy O’Reilly and Joe McCarthy.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:19 pmSusan
That piece was debunked on Snopes. It’s not real.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:20 pmNobody reads blogs, huh? Let’s see, Boingboing gets over 2 million a month now, I think… Hahaha… Bill is so wrong, so often… he must not really care as long as he spreads lies and agendas to the sheep who are naive enough to believe his spin.

October 4th, 2005 at 5:23 pmI’m not sure what you mean actor212, could you elaborate?
October 4th, 2005 at 5:24 pmBO is an inmature needy child. He can’t stand ANYONE questioning him and his need to be right is so compelling that I’m sure he doesn’t even realize he’s lying. If this sounds familiar, we also have the same personality in the WH!!! These clowns are so insecure and inmature that open disagreement will not be tolerated. The reality is that eventually they will self destruct.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:25 pmYou guys can keep track of Fox’s and other cable nets ratings here.

October 4th, 2005 at 5:25 pmPerhaps it will be as entertaining as “Bill O’Reilly’s VideoGate.”
October 4th, 2005 at 5:26 pmBlogs are the devil to lying, spinning, smear-merchants like O’Reilly. And blogs are absolutely necessary to cut through all the b.s. on the MSM. If he’s trying to debunk blogs, then you know they’re getting to him…. Keep up the good work!
October 4th, 2005 at 5:27 pmBill wants to win a ratings war by having a ‘no spin zone’ on blogs. Blogs mean nothing. They aren’t worth reading. He’s counting on their worthlessness to better his worth.
It doesn’t matter what the subject matter is, the issue, as long as O’Reilly blabbers his two cents worth, he’s happy. I never watch the show. All bunkum and bosh.
I’m gonna bang my cabbage head against the wall.
Two heads are better than one. Even if one is a cabbage head.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:30 pmI think it is time for Brad Friedman to mop the floor with this slime!! First Coulter, then O’Reilly… who’s up next?! O’Reilly needs to by humbled, and then he needs to go!!

IMPEACH BUSH!….FOX/NAZI NEWS……how do you like that ‘billy’…hmmmm??????????/
David Schuster recently left Fox News…
The University of Michigan graduate said the gist of his address will focus on how the changing mood of the country has driven news coverage to be more critical of the administration. “I don’t want to say the media always follow the weather vane of public opinion, but in any administration there is an accumulative effect and the particular circumstances of the past five years have driven the media to examine issues more critically than was the case early on,” he said.
When asked whether he would have had that opportunity while working at Fox, Shuster laughed, remained silent for a pregnant pause and said, “No. The answer is no.”
He went on to recount his six-year tenure at Fox. “At the time I started at Fox, I thought, this is a great news organization to let me be very aggressive with a sitting president of the United States (Bill Clinton),” Shuster said. “I started having issues when others in the organization would take my carefully scripted and nuanced reporting and pull out bits and pieces to support their agenda on their shows.
“With the change of administration in Washington, I wanted to do the same kind of reporting, holding the (Bush) administration accountable, and that was not something that Fox was interested in doing,” he said.
“Editorially, I had issues with story selection,” Shuster went on. “But the bigger issue was that there wasn’t a tradition or track record of honoring journalistic integrity. I found some reporters at Fox would cut corners or steal information from other sources or in some cases, just make things up. Management would either look the other way or just wouldn’t care to take a closer look. I had serious issues with that.”

October 4th, 2005 at 5:42 pm#18 Southwest, again you are on point. Give them enough rope and they will hang themselves. I, like many progressives here, would have liked to have seen more openess with respect to the dems. Meaning, I talked often on this site about the dems being more vocal in their positions and pretty much, shout out their views.
Now, I think I understand their motives. Just let them hang themselves with their own rope. Maybe sitting back and letting the overloaded machine rupture. There are obvious gaping wounds that are flowing too hard to be able to seal. They have run out of bandages and cannot stop the letting.
Not that I wouldn’t mind a little more outspokeness, but hey, let these idiots get all of the attention. They SO deserve it. They wanted America’s ear – HERE YOU GO!!

October 4th, 2005 at 5:44 pmWhy isn’t Cindy Sheehan suing O’Scumbag for slander? He told the American public that she stole supplies from the Red Cross. She should sue, she would win the case and shut his mouth in one swoop.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:45 pmGood idea Susan, his last lawsuit….awww….he settled out of court…(LOST)….he didn’t learn did he. He shouldn’t mess with a mad woman..lol.
October 4th, 2005 at 5:48 pmHow does Bill know blogs are outrageous if he’s never read them?
October 4th, 2005 at 5:55 pmI think Bill O’ Rirey is very ackurat in his commentarianisms. He’s rite, you know, bloggs are nothin’ but outrageousnesses spouted by evildoers. Like Zaqawaiee in Eyerack. Or Terri Shivoe’s husband. Can I ride my bike now Karl?

October 4th, 2005 at 6:09 pmWhy, as a blogger, am I a coward?
Is it because I don’t have the money to get on television?
Is it because I’m trying to support myself with my main passion, making movies?
Is it because I use the web to broadcast my feelings further than my vocal chords could ever reach?
I’m not sure I’m following you Bill. Bill, who doesn’t actually invite guests who he disagrees with on the air.
No one believes you when you say bloggers are cowards.
I’m sorry that not all of us were beaten by our abusive fathers and the nuns at our schools, Bill. But stop taking your anger out on everyone – espcecially those who don’t deserve it.
October 4th, 2005 at 6:12 pmLook at this blog, it’s outrageous. I agree with Falafel Boy: http://northeastdilemma.blogspot.com/

October 4th, 2005 at 6:17 pmYes. All of them are ruining Americas: blogs, liberal activist judges, the Homosexual Agenda, feminists, fat cats in Washington, the liberal media elite, liberals at elite eastern colleges, the liberal Hollywood celebrity elites, liberal elitist coastal elites in their elite liberal Ivory Towers, and the Elite modeling agency.
October 4th, 2005 at 6:23 pmNot the terrists? They ain’t l33t enough?
October 4th, 2005 at 6:27 pmI bet BO makes “Worst Person in the World” again on Countdown. He’ll die with that self-satisfied smirk on his face.
October 4th, 2005 at 6:50 pmBernie Goldberg, too.
October 4th, 2005 at 6:50 pmwell, i bet that thinkprogress gets lots more hits after o’reilly trashes them tonight. same with koks, c&l, etc.
October 4th, 2005 at 6:54 pmI’m confused.
Are blogs a powerful new weapon in the culture wars, or are they garbage that nobody cares about?
Are liberals hand-wringing wimps who are afraid to fight, or are they ruthless tyrants capable of destroying the American way of life?
Was Saddam a stable counter-balance to Islamic hegemony or a threat to his neighbors who happen to be Islamic hegemonists?
October 4th, 2005 at 6:54 pmNotice that none of the usual trolls are here. I think Ned and IRI are in shock because their hero doesn’t even read their loyal neocon attacks on progressives.
October 4th, 2005 at 6:58 pmIs O’Reailly for real. If he does not read the blog how does he know what we are discussing.
I guess the trolls are not here like NED or IRI as we don’t want their rude spin on anything.
October 4th, 2005 at 7:07 pmI think NED said he was busy choosing the next supreme court justice.
October 4th, 2005 at 7:08 pmUm, riiiiight. So we’re supposed to drink koolaid and give up the free exchange of ideas? Ideas make America great, I thought.
October 4th, 2005 at 7:20 pm#13 Susan,
October 4th, 2005 at 7:30 pmThe writings of Nostradamus are arcane to say the least. They cannot be taken as read because (I forget the name) of the style in which they are written, so one must rely on a translation and that, of course, depends on the translator.
Anyway, I have seen documentaries on Nostradamus, and have read articles about him. It is fascinating. What he says can be applied to many events in history, or in the future, but human nature allows us to apply his prophesies where we find it convenient.
It has been shown that he predicted MANY, MANY events in history, recently, the death of JFK, the rise of OBL, and I did hear the one of which you write, the falling of the twins.
You might have some luck on line, or at the library, for some of his most popular prophesies. He has also been featured on TV documentaries.
Hey Bill…..SHUT UP! Just SHUT UP!!!
October 4th, 2005 at 7:31 pmSee? I, too, can be an inconsequential video-blogger.
BO, a.k.a. Bill O’Liely, is just running scared.
October 4th, 2005 at 7:32 pmHe lost profits on his childrens’ book after he was exposed as a pervert. He is caught in a lie by the bloggers at least once a week and his credibility is suffering. He likes to have guests who agree with him and when he does have an adversary (or gasp! a Democrat!) to interview, he humiliates them, accuses them of ignorance or fabrication, and is otherwise his usual obnoxious self.
because (I forget the name) of the style in which they are written
Quatrains
October 4th, 2005 at 7:34 pmit would be funny if a flash-mob of bloggers showed up at whatever next public event BO is at. Show him how worthless the new social networks are…
October 4th, 2005 at 7:41 pmfirst off, i know that bill oreilly is right leaning, which bugs me when i flip him on…i gotta flip it off – he does have an entertaining show. i do think he does SPIN things…in the ‘no’ spin zone, and yes, he does get caught in lies sometimes.
i dont think that bill oreilly would purposely say something so unfactual – in regards to issues as that.
i think he was trying to make the point that – in the massacre trial, the chain of command (which is what the subtopic was at the moment in their conversation) did have something to do with the massacre (an SS general was convicted)
i took a look at the video, and he does state ‘who did it’ — the question is, was this a rhetorical question, or a statement as fact.
i will give him the benefit of the doubt in this instance…but i think he should clear it up somehow, and if he was mistaken in believing the US troops did that massacre – he should just say so.
transcript:
O’REILLY: General, with al respect, there were atrocities in Vietnam.
CLARK: Yes. And they were trials and they were punished.
O’REILLY: And World War II and World War I and the Civil War and the Revolutionary War.
CLARK: They were not by the chain of command.
O’REILLY: Yes, they were.
CLARK: No, they weren’t. No they weren’t.
O’REILLY: Lieutenant Callie and Medina in Vietnam?
CLARK: They were not condoned by the chain of command. Those guys were court martialed.
O’REILLY: With al due respect…
CLARK: … all the way up the chain of command.
O’REILLY: General, you need to look at the Malmady (ph) massacre in World War II and the 82nd Airborne. WHO DID IT (I HAD TO ADD THAT, CAUSE FOXNEWS.COM TOOK OFF THAT STATEMENT ON THEIR TRANSCRIPT)

Comment by to the right of you — October 4, 2005 @ 7:42 pm
No. The entire right is off it’s dirty little game. Events and the reality based community have disrupted your OODA loop, irreparably. You are done. You never regain the initiative, momentum or control again. Short Reich, wasn’t it? They always are.
October 4th, 2005 at 8:00 pmThe problem for windbags like O’Reilly is that there are thousands of people with blogs. And everyone’s thoughts and comments carry relatively equal weight. Which means that the shrill harpy cries of people like O’Reilly are easily cancelled out by any visit to the Internets, when one listens to the opinions of anyone else.
So, what is the bigger threat to O’Reilly — his obvious obsolescence as a windbag with a soapbox because of everyone on the web with a soapbox and an audience, or his obvious lack of interest in facts and being “fair and balanced” when confronted by bloggers who actually comment on world matters with actual facts to back-up their comments, and the democratic fair and balanced nature of blogs and their interactivity?
Either way, O’Reilly is of no more value as a talking head than anyone at all with a blog and an opinion.
October 4th, 2005 at 8:02 pmBill is making the subjective opinion that blogs are garbage? Hello? Have you ever listened to the crap that comes out of your mouth Bill? Hypocrit.
October 4th, 2005 at 8:03 pmOH PLEEZEEE! This complaint from the king of made-up news. There are no standards of journalism applied at Faux news to any of their programs but he’s going after blog sites!!! Maybe if MSM, which doesn’t include Faux, covered stories in depth and without fear of reprisal, there would be no reason for so many to seek the internet blog sites for truthful news sources. Bite me Bill.

Considering that 55% of americans believe in the literal truth of Genesis and that Evolution and genetics are unproven theories – that may be true. It doesn’t mean that those 55% or 85% for that matter have a clue, nor does it mean you do just because they agree with you…

October 4th, 2005 at 8:43 pmI bet when Bill bashes the blogs, he will only focus on liberal blogs.
He will not cover a single conservative or Republican blog. Or if he does mention a conservative or Republican blog, it will be to say the only good things in the segment about them.
But that may be TOO obvious, so we’ll see.
Either rate, I agree that this will generate a lot of traffic to these wonderful truth telling blogs. And I look forward to hearing about the surge of new visitors.
October 4th, 2005 at 8:47 pmryan –
an intelligent person would know that the posts had nothing to do with what percentage of people had a ‘clue’ – the posts were about philosophy and where ‘huh’ stands…
but if it makes you feel better to pick a post apart and rant on unrelated issues…have at it!!
whats with the attacks? because i am not a liberal?
October 4th, 2005 at 8:49 pmisnt bill already on??? anyone watch the blog segment? any details?
October 4th, 2005 at 8:50 pmI just turned on Bill now… get this…
In the SAME segement, and just about the same BREATH he talked about a news paper he was upset with because it was mainly liberal and didn’t allow a diversity in thought – they also resort to personal attacks on people they don’t agree with.
But a second before that, he read an email from an angry viewer and Bill told him to drink more Kool-Aid! And we all know how often Bill makes other personal attacks.
And bill… you aren’t happy with a company that doesn’t allow diversity in thought? Look at Fox! It’s ALL Republican slanted crap! Ok, so you have Colmes. But even on that show, the GUESTS are usually conservative and Republican.
Amazing.
October 4th, 2005 at 9:01 pmI bet when Bill bashes the blogs, he will only focus on liberal blogs.
…………………………………….
Exactly he was hitting on Media Matters claiming it was funded by Mr Soros. La Shanna Tova! Happy New Year!It was about smearing Liberal blogs but it wasn’t very well done. His two guest weren’t to impressive I kept looking for the rock they crawl out from under.
O’reilly stated he had to have body guards because of the bloggers ,no way dude its because of the women that you have harassed.
O’reilly stated that the email he gets ,he can tell its from liberals because they sound alike and very bad spelling. I can’t imagine a liberal saying Bill we enjoy your show…
His show must be watched by the red meat only people and how much journalism did O’reilly take in college.
O’reilly brought up Michael Moore, does Moore have a Blog?
I don’t remember the other bashers name but he was a toady type of man ,who sat there and kept shaking his head in agreement with O’reilly and saying liberal blogs scare him? O’reilly talked about a book he had tried to get the author on his show ,but the author said,he was afraid because of Media Matters . I believe it was the latest book on Hillary Clinton which has been debunked as lies and if I remember correctly O’reilly wouldn’t support the book either and that’s the real reason he wouldn’t have the author on his spin Factor. I’m looking forward to Media Matters thot’s on this.

October 4th, 2005 at 9:47 pmO’Really is a bully, a liar and has serious delusions of grandeur. Other than that I’d like to have a beer with him and talk loofas, maybe reminisce about his glory days at Inside Edition, the Peabody awards he pulled down, perhaps his military heroics. Then I’d punch him square in the jaw.

No, because while on occasion you have flashes of sanity, the reasons that most people are CONservative are entirely insane.
Tell me one of your ‘conservative’ values, and I’ll be happy to explain to you WHY you’re wrong… I’m thrilled to have a real discussion based on facts, and context – but that’s not what conservatives (or especially libertarians) do on a regular basis…
October 4th, 2005 at 10:00 pmMichael Moore KINDA has a blog on his website. He has the Mikes Letter segment, and there are many posts of current events. He also has a Must Read section. So I guess you could concider it a blog, but I think Bill just wanted to come down on him more than anything.
October 4th, 2005 at 10:05 pmBill O’Really is once again shooting his draft-dodging mouth off in an attack on the dangerous “left” in this country. Big tough guy whose always bragging about his 6′4″ college days and how bad he is nows says he is afraid to go anywhere without bodyguards.
Tough shit, Bill. You are the one who shoots your mouth off and makes enemies, PAL, and get paid rather well in the millions you rake in and complain about paying taxes on.
Maybe you should stick to sexually harrassing the female employees at Faux New’s, PAL.
October 4th, 2005 at 10:11 pmThat’s funny O’Bill. Because that’s exactly how I feel about your show:
Let’s go to the FAUX GNUS KNOTWORK — look, that’s just a waste of time. You shouldn’t even WATCH it. It’s garbage. Nobody cares about it. Everybody knows the simpletons who are doing it are cowards and they don’t have any influence.
October 4th, 2005 at 10:34 pmBill O’Jealous – Cranky – Nitwit says:
“Nobody cares about it. Everybody knows the simpletons who are doing it are cowards and they don’t have any influence.”
Billy only wishes he had as much influence as bloggers like John Aravosis (americablog)

“The East Bay Express, a New Times weekly in Emeryville, Ca. last week published a lengthy story about the porn site, and interviewed its owner, who said he gave soldiers free access in exchange for photos of dead or mutilated Iraqis. The soldiers apparently had been having trouble subscribing to the site because of credit card problems. The Online Journalism Review also ran a prominent piece. AmericaBlog, a leading blog, then covered it widely this week, and included links to some of the photos.”
Billy wishes he had that kind of influence.

October 4th, 2005 at 11:07 pm#54 Marie re: #13 Susan
I was going to post about the fact that Nostradamus’s’ work were written in French, in a style of poetry called a “quatrain.” He was a doctor before he started writing his predictions.
His work can be interpreted for any given situation at any given time. I my eyes making him a complete genius. He has written something that anybody can read and enjoy, no matter where or when they live.
But, when you were talking about how it can be interpreted, I started thinking about some other authors work that can be interpreted in a million different ways, by millions of different people.
We all call this work The Bible.
Hmmmmmmmm. Maybe the same style. It is all broken up into little verses and chapters, much like Nostradamus’s work.
October 4th, 2005 at 11:09 pmagain? you attacking me cause i am ‘to the right of you’ — from your posts, 85% of America is probably to the right of you.
I doubt that, and that’s taking into account that far too many Americans don’t know their asses from a hole in the ground. Remind me to play:
Name That Democommie!â„¢ with you some time so you can see how far off the reservation you have gone and don’t even realize it.
ps. your ASSumptions are great — i am not a ‘bush’ supporter. i do support SOME of his policies, most i disagree with at this point.
Only the truly deranged and self-deluded are Bush supporters at this point. It hardly sets you apart or makes you special. There are just as many people far to the right of you who don’t support him now, nor ever did. I don’t have to ask if voted for him. I’m pretty sure I know the answer to that one.
October 4th, 2005 at 11:30 pmHere:
Name That Democommie!â„¢
[T]o attain any success it is quite clear that the Federal government cannot avoid or escape responsibilities which the mass of the people firmly believe should be undertaken by it. The political processes of our country are such that if a rule of reason is not applied in this effort, we will lose everything–even to a possible and drastic change in the Constitution. This is what I mean by my constant insistence upon “moderation” in government. Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid.
Name that commie. You can cheat and google it. I got a million of them you can’t find on Google.
October 4th, 2005 at 11:36 pmOf course people like O’Reilly hate the bloggers. Until the internet blogs came around, the only people who got their voices out there were the talking heads, who are all bought, by the way. Use to be he could tell a lie and only a few savy people found out. Now he tells his nightly lies and they’re exposed as such instantaneously. The blogs are the right-wing propagandist’s biggest enemies.
October 4th, 2005 at 11:46 pmThank God O’Reilly’s being personally attacked because he’s a scumbag and deserves it greatly. The Blogs are independent enough from corporate control to disseminate unfiltered information whereas mainstream media is a tool of corporate interests. Blogs can afford to tell the truth, mainstream media can’t acknowledge truth – it undermines their agenda.
October 4th, 2005 at 11:49 pm#54, Spudgeboy,
I find Nostradamus intriguing though it’s hard to believe it as true prophecy because it is so ambiguous. When I think about it, I can see that I agree with you!
October 5th, 2005 at 12:12 amYour comparison is quite insightful.
What’s Instapundit, the ultimate champion of blogging, have to say about this?
October 5th, 2005 at 12:47 amIt’s kind of interesting that Bill bashes all blogs when we know he really means just liberal ones…I guess that means liberal blogs have really taken over the blogosphere completely if the term “blog” itself can be used to identify something as being inherently liberal (and BAAAAD!). Conservative blogs must be totally marginalized then…Nonetheless, it would seem you’re only to be taken seriously by Bill as non-”garbage” if you’re broadcast on his network…
October 5th, 2005 at 1:18 am“Everybody knows the simpletons who are doing it are cowards and they don’t have any influence.”
Maybe O’Reilly ought to ask Dan Rather whether bloggers have any influence. From what I heard, the discrepencies in Rather’s report was first pointed out by bloggers. The difference between Rather and O’Reilly as that Rather worked for a network that is somewhat concerned with it’s credibility.
October 5th, 2005 at 1:19 amWow, I feel bad for all the NeoCons that have been trying so hard on the blogs. To have one of their “leaders” say they are nothing, must really hurt.
You don’t think any of these zombies will see BIll O’Reilly for what he is now, do you?
He is a crakpot that like to hear his own voice.
Oh, and I figured out his “you’re full of sh!t” lines. I was reading the transcript of his discussion of Iraq with Wesley Clarke and fond that he uses the term “with all due respect.” Anytime you hear (read) him say that, he is minimunalizing the person he is talking to.
With all due respect, I think Bill O’Rielly is a dumbass.
October 5th, 2005 at 1:39 amThis is off topic sorta… but I was featured on CNN a few days ago. They commented on a comment I made RIGHT HERE at ThinkProgress, it was SO cool. I heard my name… my head kinda popped up, and my heart skipped a thousand beats and the butterflies began going nuts in my stomach, I threw myself at the VCR and recorded what I could. I only got the last part of it, but I put it online!
Check it out: VIDEO: I was on CNN!
October 5th, 2005 at 1:51 amI love it,
Those are the very same reasons I don’t watch Bill O LIElly.
HEEEE HAW!!!!
He is the most vile piece of garbage.
He may not read blogs, but I have e-mailed him enough and called him a no balls nazi that is too afraid to have me on his show, he knows me by name!!!!!!!!
What a pu***s
October 5th, 2005 at 2:18 amSpugeboy….
Very interesting observation. I have said that for years about the bible, and Nostradamus.
I see your posts and very often find my thoughts expressed by them.
Really odd. But much welcomed, as I tend to post too often. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
October 5th, 2005 at 2:24 amRyanneat….. I am so sorry, I missed telling you I think you speak for me also!
KUDOS to you and KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORK TOO!!!!
I was scanning past posts and forgot to include you, my bad.
October 5th, 2005 at 2:28 am#90 & 97
Thanks for the comments.
I find you both to have great thoughts as well. Along with many of the folks who post here. So much stuff to research, so little time. :(
October 5th, 2005 at 2:36 amSince O’Reilly hates blogs he’ll really hate mine since I talk about his garbage
October 5th, 2005 at 2:54 amHes running out of people to ruin and not they are not taking his shit anymore so he has to go to bloggers now who certainly wont take his shit ,,
October 5th, 2005 at 3:31 amHes a nut ball in a suit and prob stole lunch money from kids in school to get his cookies off
He gets paid to be a hateful man that has no idea what he even is talking about
If he could actually debate ,he would not be on faux news
They hire the ediots and the ones that cant really express themselves but point the finger and dodge all the hard questions
He owes them to be a fool beings they paid his way out from the scandel with that women
Ha Ha thats why hes so mean and obnioux he needs to get laid and not have to beg for it call up girls on phones and prob has to pay for it it
what a pathetic human being
No influence? No influence? Shit.
October 5th, 2005 at 4:49 amMr. O’Reilly probably doesn’t read blogs. That’s what he has his staff for. They edit out all the usual drivel both right and left blogsites seem to attract and give him a abstract on what’s left. I would assume.
In any case, the only time I EVER watch Mr. O’Reilly is on C&L’s posted videoclips. For much the same reason: I don’t think I could humanely tolerate having to sit through that much of O’Reilly’s bile and screaming and nonsense just to get to the ‘good bits’.
No influence? Well, if it weren’t for blogsites, I wouldn’t even know who you are, Mr. O’Reilly.
October 5th, 2005 at 5:12 amThe lady doth protest too much, methinks
October 5th, 2005 at 8:45 amYou realize of course the irony of actually supporting the piece of garbage, in fact rallying people to “set their Tivos”, improving his ratings.
Yeah…he must be shaking in his boots as his numbers of listeners (they can’t distinguish “haters” from “fans” and why should they? They sell commercials right?) go UP.
How stupid are the so-called progressives that actually help their worst nightmare stay on the air?
I never watch the bum. He’s just an updated Morten Downey (sr. not jr.) riling the masses…hell, it’s WWW all over again. What in the world could that mean, puny, small minded, bigoted garbage have to say about ANYTHING that would be worth considering?
Nothing.
October 5th, 2005 at 8:46 amSorry, meant WWF (wrestling….)
October 5th, 2005 at 8:48 amBill O’Reilly would call his mother a simpleton and a coward if he thought it would improve his ratings.
October 5th, 2005 at 9:09 amfresh air host terry gross exposed this fraudulent man over a year ago on npr.he got so upset with this diminutive yet persistent women that he walked out on the interview less than half way through.he is now running scared as are the rest of these neo nazis and this is due in large part because of bloggers that nobody reads, yeah right bill.the man doesn’t even deserve being called pond scum as it would be an affront to all amoebae.i think fecal bacterium would be more fitting.
October 5th, 2005 at 9:33 amWhy should I bother my beautiful mind watching O’Reilly?
October 5th, 2005 at 9:43 am#13, I’m not sure if anyone’s answered your question. The Nostradamus interpretation you mention is an urban legend. It first circulated after 9/11 and was quickly debunked.

October 5th, 2005 at 10:41 amEver heard of Matt Margolis?
During the Bush-Cheney 2004 election campaign, this then 23 year old somehow started a blog, got full credentials for the RNC Convention in NYC, was widely celebrated, interviewed and was photographed with the big boys… this student…
Ok, strange. So now, Margolis Media Works runs
blogsforbush.com
gopbloggers.org
hubpolitics.com
noagenda.org
He founded the biggest pro candidate blog ever!!!
He completely supports everything and anything that becomes Bush agenda He does radio interviews, like the BBC one he just did to talk about how wonderful Harriet Miers is.
He seems to be on top of all Bush schedules, scripts and sound bites of the day.
He posts nasty bitter angry anti-everything… in OReilly fashion.
Yet, he says he has absolutely no connection to RNC nor any campaign.
Every attempted posting on his blogs is censored. If it is not pro-Bush, forget it.
They make it seem as if people are welcome to post, or they give links to contact with questions… but, you never get anywhere.
Tell me that OReilly is unaware of this kid and hates him too.
October 5th, 2005 at 11:08 amThey are contradicting themselves—-If the Blogs really have so little influence that “nobody cares about them” then why are they so obsessed about them as to be slamming their credibility with such obvious pain and effort?
TRUTH hurts the wicked, baby!!
October 5th, 2005 at 11:11 am[...] Yesterday morning, right-wing Powerline blogger John Hinderaker (”Hindrocket”) told readers that his partner Paul Mirengoff would be appearing on last night’s O’Reilly segment about bloggers: Paul will be interviewed on the O’Reilly Factor tonight. It should be a fun conversation, and I’d encourage our readers to tune in. [...]
October 5th, 2005 at 12:50 pmAssassinate the leader of the “free” world!? Why would anyone want to hurt the the mayor of Amsterdam?
October 5th, 2005 at 1:21 pmWhy did we waste our time with this. O’reilly’s veiwership keeps sinking, he’s, as he would say,” going into obscurity”
it’s his obvious attempt to get AirTime on our Blogs in hopes of regaining popularity through us. He’s a nobody!
October 5th, 2005 at 1:42 pmBill O’Reilly is a IDIOT! He does not know what he is talking about, if people are interested check out my Blog:

Peace
October 5th, 2005 at 5:17 pmEveryone wants to shout out the opposite of what they actually do. It has become an utterly sickening atmosphere since 9/11. You scream “Fair and Balanced” and “No Spin” ,but this is all just another lie. Your spin is just more suited to you, and now you attack blogs? Do the retarded freedom hating monkeys that write your show for you even realize the power for good the internet has unleashed in giving everyone a place for their opinion? Of Course, it’s just another weapon to you and the other warmongers. More reasons to lay blame. More reasons for you to get ratings an froth all you can possibly want. Time for everyone on both sides of the truly nonexsistent political “parties” to understand that the internet has become the true voice for those without one.
October 5th, 2005 at 5:39 pmCouldn’t agree with you more, An I. The so-called mainstream media is a joke at this point. Who are they? No one. Are they the annointed ones somehow? No, they are not, the only difference is they get really big paychecks, which makes them vunerable to their egos. On the other hand, we bloggers have no favorites.

If the Nostradamus prediction is an urban legend and the prediction was about the city under the sea being flooded then it may have moved into the realms of genuine prediction … that is … if the prediction for the flooded city came just after 9/11. So many weird things going on at the moment the Nosradamus urban legend prediction is much more interesting than Bill O’Reilly. Whoever he is. (English viewer) Jon Stewart is going peak time in the UK on monday. We havent signed up Bill O’Reilly.
October 10th, 2005 at 3:31 amHmm.. and O’Reilly dosn’t? How can anyone listen to this talking SNAKE?
November 2nd, 2005 at 5:28 amGood web site! Thank you for your job!
