    I have my popcorn.

  3. Rev. White says:

I pray to every diety known to man that this will not turn out to be a HUGE disappointment. I fear this is like all of the hype that precedes a summer block-buster movie and then it turns out to be nothing. PLEASE let justice be served in this.

  4. thot's says:

Don’t forget to get your food, water, rolls of plastic and duct tape ready, put batteries in the old radio so you can get NPR, sit back and relax. They are going to scream a lot, but if it all does go down like it should we are going to have a great take back America party. …..Blessings

  7. Jennty says:

I hope for the best, expect the worst. These guys are so sneaky, underhanded, unethical, rotten to the core that I will not be surprised if they slip out of it. I really hope they don’t. I would love to think that American Justice still lives.

  8. Marie says:

    I am with you Jennty.

  9. Ellis says:

    Jennty,

The masses that swear by their every move will be so much more emboldened if they slip. And, the Dem conspiracy theories will proliferate if they slip. Then again, isn’t this all Clinton’s fault? [gag!]

  10. progressive and proud says:

Mary Poppin, champagne? I do so love the bubbly. Hmmm popcorn and a bit of the bubbly sounds very chic. I think…YES.

  11. kindness says:

With Goss heading the CIA, I don’t trust them to be completely honest. I know that that is taken for granted with any “intellegence agency” but this guy was put there to specifically cover bushco’s ass.

We’ll see how it plays out but I bet they come out and say, “Oh, no damage was done, so we aren’t going to pursue it”.

    Who’se taking bets?

  12. Mary Poppin says:

Kindness #11 I sure hope this is not the case. We need to get these people out of office because they will try to put that “Martial Law” on us. I don’t trust them at all.

  13. Pablo in Mexico says:

Rumors have it 22 indictments. I just hope that Bush and Cheney are among them.

At least named as “un-indicted co-conspirators”. That in itself would be terrific.

  14. Clyde the Ripper says:

An Indictment a Day Sends the Repugs Away!

  15. Zwack says:

Anyone have any actual articles? The link just goes to a generic home page that doesn’t mention anything related.

    Z.

  16. kindness says:

22 huh? That would be completely sweet. Let’s hope Rove & Libby are amongst the xmas presents.

  17. kindness says:

I mean Scooter or whatever his name is…sorry.

  18. Jesus Christ God of WAR says:

This may be one of those moments in history that defines a nation for years to come. Either we are a law abiding republic attempting to become a democracy. Or we are no better than Germany during the 1930’s. To me this whole matter is indeed that important.

Did I mention the mood swings between fear, concern, and hope at the outcome?

  19. Styve says:

It must have been a week or two ago that a list was published of 21 BushCo members allegedly involved in Plame-gate. I don’t think Bush was on that list.

Is he #22?? Does this give new meaning to the term, Catch 22?!?!

    Ohhh…let it be true

    Styve

  20. Styve says:

Got the list, and Bush is Lucky #21!

    Karl Rove
    I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby
    Condoleezza Rice
    Stephen Hadley
    Andrew Card
    Alberto Gonzales
    Mary Matalin
    Ari Fleischer
    Susan Ralston
    Israel Hernandez
    John Hannah
    Scott McClellan
    Dan Bartlett
    Claire Buchan
    Catherine Martin
    Colin Powell
    Karen Hughes
    Adam Levine
    Bob Joseph
    Vice President Dick Cheney
    President George W. Bush

  21. bill d says:

Don’t get too excited. You’re setting yourselves up for a big letdown. If I were a betting man, and I am, I would put money on the fact that nothing big will come of this. Unfortunately.

  22. WaltTheMan says:

Novak should be on the list as well.

  23. Mary Poppin says:

Why isn’t Novak on the list? He is one that wrote the story.

  24. ThomNYC says:

Nobody’s going to jail for maybe talking about someone who happens to work in a CIA office on matters of little importance. Her life was never even close to being in danger unless she fell asleep at her desk and hit her head.

Are they all bad guys – YES. But, come on! Firings, impeachments, prison… Every time someone comes up with some beaurocratic technicality, many liberals start calling for heads to roll.

The world laughed over the time and money wasted on the Clinton “affair”. Let’s not give them more to laugh about.

  25. Sara says:

Don’t forget Thorn, that outing the contact outs all her contacts. I wouldn’t be surprised if agents have already been killed due to this leak.
It would not be a waste if we actually get to convict!
The case against Clinton was weak and stupid to begin with, but this one has a lot of meat to it.
So let’s all hope for a nice big party when they go down!

  26. Marie says:

    ThornNYC
I think you are mistaken. Plame’s company was deeply involved in operations uncovering nuclear proliferation around the world. It is believed there was a sting operation going on at the time Cheney blew her cover. Don’t believe the Fox News claims that she was a desk clerk – she was an operative – and not only she, but the entire company, its operations, and its connecitons have all been blown.
This is being demeaned by the Republicans who wasted 8 years of investigations and millions of tax dollars on where and when Clinton had sex. Clinton’s problems were all his – Ken Starr made them ours; Bush’s problems are all over his administration and they have cost us in lives, blood, billions, integrity, prestige and security.

  27. Jennty says:

If anything the charges won’t be for leaking Plame’s name, but rather for conspiracy, perjury, and obstruction of justice. The Intelligence Identities Protection Act is rather strictly worded. It’s FAR FAR easier to prove conspiracy, perjury, and obstruction of justice.

  28. ThomNYC says:

Cool. People actually have thoughtful discussions here… unlike so many other blogs. Nice to know.

Jennty #27 I won’t pretend to be a lawyer. But, I think you are right for the most part. I am still skeptical about any good cases being made against any of the big fish on this though.

  29. ThomNYC says:

Sara # 25. That’s a scary thought… do we have any way of knowing if there is any truth to it?

Marie # 26. I won’t stay in a room with FOX NEWS playing on a television. It is sickening what those types have done to our country.

But, I don’t know about this “sting” to which you refer. Does that come from a credible source?
