37%

Another new low for President Bush’s approval rating.

I hope it goes down to 25%. Hopeful we will get him out of office before he orders “MARTIAL LAW” on us. IMPEACH! IMPEACH! IMPEACH!!

  2. Ugh says:

I’m tired of all the ponies.

  3. Sharon Cox says:

Good Morning All, great poll numbers, coulden’t happen to a better pres… By the holidays he should be in single digets. Supose this will mean more speaking tours and scary threats. We will be able to see how scared he is by the number of speaches. Would bet the rest of the repubs will start backing away big time……….Blessings

  4. AndrewW says:

let’s hope it stays this way until next november… remain vigilent!

  5. Luck Fiberals says:

Where are the democratic leader approval ratings? I’d have to say that they are in the toilet as well, based on the last election. They provide no leadership, only critize the Bush administration and have no idea on what they would do given the power. Hope and wish all you want, but things will be different come next November.

  6. Jennty says:

Abysmal poll numbers aren’t enough. The public may be well and truely fed up with these clepto-megalomaniacs but unless there is a VIABLE alternative we are stuck with them. Any of the pansy Dems that voted for the war AIN’T it. We need the Dems to grow a spine, and get a coherent message. I heard some comments from Dean yesterday, and he seems to get the idea. I have hope again for 2006, but after the crap that this scum have pulled over the last 5 years, I’m quite cynical. If the Repubs come up with a reasonable candidate, someone sort of like McCain with out the whole Keating 5 and France loving thing he’s got, they will crush the Dems as the Dems stand right now. It’s never too early to get a plan and a clue. I just hope the Dems do both. I’m tired of Clepto-Pluto-theocracy thing we got now.

  7. Elvis says:

    Luck Fiberals,

Politics is power, nothing more. Democrats are just as corrupt. However, the polls show the ratings for Bush, not democrats as a whole. And simply because you say “they are in the toilet as well” doesn’t make it true.

“States are not moral agents.” – Chomsky

  8. Ichi263 says:

Sharon, too late on the scary threats… here in nyc they’ve issued a terror theat, bombs in baby strollers on the subway….

Whats that georgie? another wolf? *yawn*

  9. Sharon Cox says:

Yep! #9 Ichi, I saw that yesterday, just another speech and planting scare tactics. His big ajenda is trying to get Miers in office and declare Marshal Law. Theres always some kind of weird ajanda with Bushco…..Blessings

  10. Jay says:

Howard Dean’s been the voice of reason all along but because the rightwing spin machine and the corporate/GOP mainstream media has successfully painted him as fringe the cowardly Dems have shoved him in the closet. When Dean was chosen to head up the DNC there was clearly strong dissent from the entrenched “leadership” of the party. The Joe Biden’s of the world distanced themselves from him. It was clear at the time (to those of us that appreciate Dean’s willingness to speak truth to power, consequences be damned) that those that wouldn’t stand with him and fight were a part of the problem.

We are begging for Dean-like truth and toughness. Set him free and stand with him you cowards! He may be your best hope. Now is the time to unleash Howard Dean!

  11. Andrew G. says:

    #7.

I agree. A Rep took our seat in congress from the Dems. last year. The Democratic candidate had no other strategy for victory than to turn out the black vote. Now, they want the democratic congressman who left the seat to run for senate to try again.

I hope not, he is not a candidate that can unseat an incumbent. Bush carried the district by 7%, but it can be done: but only if everyone realizes that it can be done and gets serious about it. Our old congressman has a limited appeal. That’s the problem.

  12. Marie says:

His approval ratings can get down to zero, but he is still in office three more years unless we take action. Remove Republicans from seats of power in the House and Senate thereby reducing Bush’s power. Begin proceedings to impeach Bush thereby showing the world that we are taking America back.

  13. Dartanyon says:

There are still 37% of Americans who find this moron an acceptable president? Now, who are these people? Bush’s extended family?

  14. Marie says:

Get your representatives and Senators to visibly protest Bush. Support every Democrat who is running for office. Work for 2006, but keep the pressure on now!

  15. Mary Poppin says:

#7 Jennty Do the Republicans really like McCain? Russ Feingold might run for president. He did not vote for the war in Iraq and wants to bring our troops home at the end of 2006. There is alway Senator Clinton but the Repubs will crush her. She says she is not going to run for prez. She is popular. I hope she wins in New York next year. The trouble is people in america take voting for granited or they think their vote does not count.

In our county we are having a special election and there was a townhall meeting to met one of the candidates. Only three people showed up. We have over 9,000 people in our town. It was at the high school but there was a football game going on. They just picked the wrong night. I got the information I needed.

  16. Marie says:

#16 your local meeting is an example of why the public is so ill-informed about issues that affect them directly. It’s good to know that some people like yourself do gather information.

  17. Sharon Cox says:

Good Post’s girls and boys, as you know my spin is very left sighted. Right now we don’t have enough Dean, Boxer, Palosi types and very few speaking out, in fact for month’s the silence has been defening.Nothing during Katrina. One of our senators went for Roberts and the other voted No. Sent a Thank You to the one who voted No and plan to not vote for the other next election. All the one’s leaning to the right are not getting my vote and if they are for the war I am working hard to get them out of office..We need Dean and all the Dem’s to step up to the plate or many of us are going to start up another party….Blessings

  18. Jay says:

I don’t see how John McCain gets beat in 08′, he’ll appeal to so many in the middle and the R’s will vote for him no matter what. Do people really see guiliani as a viable candidate from the Republican camp? He leans left on more issues than McCain and he’s from that bastion of liberalism NYC. McCain’s war story will play better to the sheeple than Kerry’s did that’s for sure. Guilaini’s only claim to fame is his leadership after 9/11 (and it was impressive)….but what else does he offer?

Democrats may have to get behind McCain (despite his cowardly sellout performance backing Bush in light of how they smeared in 2000) and hope that he applies the same moral compass that he used to push this weeks anti-torture legislation. The guy has the potential to do much good (also see McCain-Feingold). If the Dems can’t get there act together, McCain is just as viable an option. Just MHO.

  19. Dartanyon says:

“Good Post’s girls and boys, as you know my spin is very left sighted.” Sharon Cox

Which is why I read you. Left is best.

  20. Sharon Cox says:

Sorry Jay, it’s a no go for me on all those you mentioned. The rest of the country may like you’r picks but not me….I’m anti war and give the country back to the people. None of these guy’s fall into that catagory as far as I have observed…..Blessings

  21. S.D. says:

Some people have a pool as to How low He can go.

Um, in Approval ratings that is…

  22. Jay says:

    Sharon,

I’m very strongly anti-war, but unless we can wake the very significant percentage of Americans that are napping our country away, unless we can get those voting machines straightened out and unless the media gets crazy and starts doing its job…….we have cowardly Dems and we have McCain. I don’t like it, in fact I’m quite disgusted by it, but I’m trying to be realistic.

A lot of us busted our ass for John Kerry and we got highly questionable election results, more bogus media distraction and a much bigger mess than we had before. All I’m saying is that unless the Dems snap out of it, they’re going to lose me.

  23. The Northeast Dilemma says:

hm…. I wouldn’t bet the house on CBS polls. Remember when they lied about Bush’s military record and that guy – what’s is name? was forced to resign.

As mad as Bush makes me sometimes, I still enjoy watching the lunatic left hang on to liar polls for dear life. It makes you look pathetic and desperate.

  24. Mary Poppin says:

Jay I was totally shocked when John Kerry did not win. I even stayed up to midnight that night. I just could not believe this. The Bushies were celebrating before 10:00 PM that night. I think the people in Ohio had not finished voting yet.

  25. Sharon Cox says:

S.D. if the econemy continues to slide, gas prices keep high, spending for the holiday’s is tight and more scare tactics are used, people become numb to the administration and loose more interests. It may be the public will get mad enough to complain and the numbers could bottom out completely. Bush is after all the worst president in our history. Self interests are the deciding factor, alway’s, the comfort level for the masses is the key, if the worker bees have to take care of Granny because all her benefit’s have been cut and their fuel to go through the winter are high the stress factor kicks in . It is possible to see 0% but unless we have a good alternative the public will feel traped, which we are and may even resort to rioting. All this is ofcours null if Bush pushes for marshall law they may get crazy before all the above happens…Blessings

  26. Jay says:

    Dilemma-

“Remember when they lied about Bush’s military record”

No, I don’t. They never lied about Bush’s record. They got swindled with a false document and CBS was foolish enough to take the bait. The facts on Bush’s record were 100% accurate, and it was far more embarassing than what came to light, but you knew that. Do you need to take anything in order to reach your level of delusion, or is it natural?

  27. S.D. says:

Sharon, I think he’s a victim of the Economy that he helped to damage. Remember when Outsourcing was an Issue for him? Doesn’t seem to be a problem for him now.

Jay, Which “Facts” would that be? That he “served” his full hitch in the National Guard?

    Right….

  28. Sharon Cox says:

Good Morning NW Dilemma, good to see your altered opinion this morning. Not kidding. Please don’t take our posts as weak, pathetic or any other negative view. We, that is the Dem’s are a good work in progress. I welcome your thoughts even tho I do not agree. Bushes numbers are dropping right.? The masses are tired of him and his war machine, right.? You are still able to post here. right.? That may not always be the case, especialy if your war in chief gets his marshal law imposed. I’ve bought lot’s of stamps and am ready to go back to snail mail, how about you…….Blessings

  29. Jay says:

    S.D.,

He absolutely did NOT complete his Nat. Guard obligation. He absolutely did request that he NOT be sent to Vietnam on his Nat. Guard entry documentation. He absolutely DID say at the time that he supported the war in Vietnam. There absolutely WAS a cover-up of what he did when he left the TX Nat. Guard before he completed his duty. I’m sorry, leaving his post to work on a ploitical campaign while we were at war was a pathetic move for such a brave, heroic warmonger.

  30. Jay says:

Oh and S.D., if you don’t believe me, please look at this extremely well-sourced (with photocopied documents) account of your fearless leaders brave military experience:

    http://www.glcq.com/bush_at_arpc1.htm

  31. The Northeast Dilemma says:

Mary Poppin – just to make you feel better, Ken Blackwell is leading in polls to be Ohio’s next Governor. I can’t wait til he wins and liberals go ape sh*t.

  32. The Northeast Dilemma says:

BTW – people care about Bush’s guard record as much as they care about Clinton’s military record. It was always a weak attack coming from the left. It must suck being a liberal liar.

  33. Jay says:

I’ll bet it’s nice to be a Republican candidate in the home state of Wally O’Dell. Nice indeed.

  34. Jay says:

    Dilemma,

And where is the lie? Point out the lie or zip it.

Bush is a self-proclaimed “war president”, he ran on this image. That’s the difference, that’s why his record matters.

  35. Sharon Cox says:

Good Posts every one. Especialy like Jay and Dartanion, yes the 37% is probably the Bush family polling and yes we need to turn Dean loose. He seems to be one of the very few to have a back bone and be against the war. The other big plus is he is a doctor and would be able to stop the giant medical give aways to HMO’s and pharmacutical co. that Bush, Delay shoved down our throat….More scare tactics this morning. Guess Bush want’s our heads busy with that while Rove is being questioned..I realy appreciat the dialogue here this morning, the fact there is no vile name calling speaks volums to me..Thank you one and all……….Blessings

  36. Mary Poppin says:

Bush was a coward. That is because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I guess money talks when you are a Bushie.

Dilemma, Blackwell is a big crook. He will not win Ohio. The people in Ohio have more brains than that. Just like Santorum is in the toilet. He will not win Penn.

  37. Terrytheturtle says:

    Ned, eat this:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051003/ap_on_re_us/ohio_governor_poll

    http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0729-23.htm

Blackwell will likely disappear in a cloud of corruption when the Coingate criminal charges come in.

It must suck to have to place your faith in criminals.

  38. Zookeeper says:

#14 – Sorry, Dartanyon, it’s my entire family. I accept responsibility.

  39. Jesus Christ God of WAR says:

This is good news. More people have awaken to the facts of Bush and his Merry Band of Bandits.

Back when Nixon resigned, someone I know called their conservative relatives and asked what they thought of their boy now. The power monger had been exposed for what he really was, a criminal.

Bush has turned out to be a 100 times worse than Nixon. BushCo lies, cheats, swindles, steals, kills innocent people by the 1,000s and spins to get away from responsibility. Only people as deviant, as greedy, and narrow minded as Bush can support the bastard.

I feel we may be getting close to being able to ask the Konservative Trolls what they think of their lord and master now.

  40. Sharon Cox says:

Sorry, off topic. N.Y found some green goo in a pop can….Subway….Wasen’t there an old movie about Soilent Green or something like that. Boy these guy’s imagination are running wild and difinately old time….Oh Well! It does seem they need to keep our minds busy, while they pick our pockets and run adds for Miers on the tube…Blessings

  41. progressive and proud says:

How does it feel NeD? Your party abandoned you and could care less about you. How does it feel knowing you are a dying breed? It must be lonely continuing to try to stick behind this redneck criminal. I know it is hard to let go. It must be difficult trying to drum up reasons for loyalty.

They are nothing but crooks, plain and simple. You can say, til ya turn blue, how much everybody else has done it too, but that doesn’t make it okay. Remember in school – two wrongs don’t make a right? That is a cop out. Clinton was evil so we can be too? Is that it? Is that the extent of your argument anymore? You got nothin’!

You know these ‘wish they were as smart as the mafia’ guys have been building a house of cards. Don’t you? What defense do you have left? You keep singing the ‘everybody feels the same way I do’ song, but, do you really think so? Just keep disregarding every poll as bias. It just looks so pathetic. You know where you stand with these inept cowards. They got your vote and screw you.

  42. Zookeeper says:

#41 – Wouldn’t that be Mountain Dew? I’m scared of that stuff, too!

  43. CannabSGS says:

    Hey Luck Fiberals:

Yuck Fou, you right-wing rhetorical wind bag!

  44. Anne says:

It’s so obvious, every time the shrub gives a big (scary) speech, somewhere there’s a false alarm of some kind. It’s all in the plan. It’s the same ole 6’s and 7’s. We have GOT to unload this joker. I’m for Dean running. He has the number of theses crooks, and I think he’d be a good President. Oh well…he ant dumbya.

  45. Mary Poppin says:

#46 Anne I agree that Dean would make a great President with Russ Feingold as his running mate.

  46. Jay says:

    Dean!
    Dean!
    Dean!
    Dean!

How about Dean with Barbara Boxer as a running mate?

  47. Andrew says:

    AAH, Sweet Science!

    Spin that, Mehlman!

  48. dano347 says:

    Comment by The Northeast Dilemma — October 7, 2005 @ 10:50 am

I’m copying this post, ned, along with a lot of other rightwing windbags; we’ll see how tasty those words are in a few months. Do you “feel better” now?

  49. Ryan Neat says:

“Mary Poppin – just to make you feel better, Ken Blackwell is leading in polls to be Ohio’s next Governor. I can’t wait til he wins and liberals go ape sh*t.
    Comment by The Northeast Dilemma”

“Blackwell vs Coleman (44.4% to 43%)”

Wow, a whole percentage point – that’s really impressive! You’re so confident for such a thin margin, but then again since Blackwell was responsible for all of the voting fraud issues in Ohio and the rigging of the voting machines that might help him ‘win’, even if he really doesn’t. Lets also not forget there are lots of indictments coming – so blackwell may go the way of the Delay/Doddo bird before it’s over…

“BTW – people care about Bush’s guard record as much as they care about Clinton’s military record. It was always a weak attack coming from the left. It must suck being a liberal liar.
    Comment by The Northeast Dilemma”

You mean the same one that Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove and even Limbaugh had? At least none of those lied and illegally went AWOL on their military service as Bush did. If Miers and Chertoff hadn’t illegally destroyed the military records, americans would surely feel differently.

Now a ‘liar’ implies there’s been a lie, and yet the only lies that have continually been proven here come from YOUR side. So an accusation from a LIAR like you isn’t really an insult at all.

Is that the best that a moron like you can do? We’re gonna win? You don’t care about the criminality of outing a CIA agent, falsifying evidence for war, pretending a terrorist connection existed when it didn’t or any number of other LIES from your side? Even David Brooks ADMITTED PUBLICALLY YOUR SIDE OFFICIALLY LIES FOR PROPAGANDA PURPOSES. You’re biased and have no credibility – so who do you expect you’re trying to convince except yourself? What a sad delusional worm you are – your life must truly be patethic in the north east…

  50. Phinga Bheng says:

You’re a liar, Ryan. I’ve proven it too many times. You’re in no position to be calling anybody a liar. Why don’t you explain to your liberal buddies how 37% is not really that low compared to other presidents in the past fifty years. Bwhahahahahahahaha! Idiot.

  51. Sharon Cox says:

Jay, Dean and Boxer would be a great team, can we get them to run, starting now. Like them both, up front and asking the good questions and knowing the good solutions……Blessings

  52. Ryan Neat says:

    Comment by Phinga Bheng ”

Oh, the vietnamese butt plug is back to argue more nonsense… How did I just know this loser would respond to this posting – how pavlovian reichwing nerds are.

The fact is under 40% usually means that a party loses seats during the next term elections – so it’s a VERY bad sign for any president to be sitting at these numbers. That’s the fact, butt plug is just a nerd with an obsession with me… These presidential approval ratings are in fact consistent with having only your own party’s approval.

The 37% is basically the 85% of the ‘die hard’ republicans who want to go down with the ship. Unless they piss out the koolaid they’ve drunk (something that psychotic nutjobs like our butt plug here) are unlikely to do, then his numbers should hold steady. His nomination of Miers has clearly eroded a few percentage points from his approval rating – I can’t wait to see what an indictment in PlameGate will do… After all Nixon’s approval rating in June of 72 when watergate broke was 59% and it took over a year for Nixon’s approval rating to drop below 39%… It took another 3 months for it to drop below 30% – so we’ll see how bush fares this winter when heating oil prices screw yet more americans and more scandals rip through the administration.

A nixon 24% approval rating (his worst) may yet still happen – it’s only 13% more of americans… And who knows, there may be enough republicans who aren’t home schooled to actually wake up… They’re generally a pretty dense lot though, so I hardly think many will budge.

And for those who don’t know Mr./Ms. Butt Plug, he is pissed because I stated previously that these numbers were Nixon Watergate numbers. He didn’t do his/her fact checking though – because these numbers are in fact the same range of numbers Nixon had after a year+ of the scandal! He’s just an idiot with a delusional vendetta based on his own stupid ignorance. Get a life butt plug, and realize you’re on the side of lying losers – oh wait – that would require your ability to recognize truth, and clearly that’s absent from your character!

  53. Smedley D. Butler says:

War Protest – Nov 10 2005 Take a day off! – Please Read

If you feel, as the majority of Americans and people throughout the world do, that the war in Iraq is wrong, and you wish you had a way to show the Bush Administration, the Government of the United States, and the world, how you feel about it, then join us in our world wide walk out on November 10th 2005.

Show the world how you feel, and just how many of us feel this way. Let’s drive the point home by taking away from them their most precious item; money.

On November 10th 2005, unless you hold a position which people rely upon in the event of an emergency (you work at a hospital, a firemen, policemen etc), don’t go to work. Try not to drive your car; don’t watch T.V.; don’t use the internet. Stay at home. Read a book. Play with your kids. Engage in a hobby.

Plan a vacation day at work. Call in sick. Use your best judgment on how to take this day off.

If we don’t get their attention this way, we’ll just do it again, until we do.

If the people speak, and speak together, they have to listen.

Please email this to as many of your friends and colleagues as you wish/can.

  54. Andrew says:

It’s funny how conservatives post in this forum.

If we are so insugnificant, why do they bother reading the threads? Further, I read the conservative threads, but seldom if ever comment. Mr. Mehlman ensures that I don’t by blocking any opposition in his blog.

Why is it then? Why bother posting if you are content in your righteousness?

  55. Ryan Neat says:

    Andrew,

Don’t you remember that Brownie claimed he quite FEMA because of a liberal blog? Clearly they fear the truth and its ability to mobilize. That’s why OReilly claims we’re ‘dangerous’ – and he’s right from the standpoint that we educate and undermine his propaganda and lying smears…

We are significant – and they fear us more than terrorists because we stand for honesty and integrity. We are the opposite of the reichwingers – but unfortunately they are the same as terrorists. Hateful, viscious, violent, lying, propagandist and terrorist in their very character. They hate osama because he threatens them – not because he’s different from them. If Osama was killing commies with acts of terrorism as he was under BushI, they’d still be pinning medals on him and calling him a freedom fighter. The american christotaliban is in fact just as radical and ridiculous as osama is. They’re all cut from the same bolt of crazy cloth!

  56. Andrew says:

    I agree, Ryan.

Somewhere today, I had posted the RW ignorance as to the position of “terrorist” ideologies, which stem from the far RIGHT. . .

People should know what they speak of before they speak. Me thinks this is the reason why Mr. Mehlman and his boys use the deafening repetition of half handed talking points.

It’s all there, ladies and gents of the troll trade. . . Pick up a book and start at chapter 1.

  57. Hunter Morrow says:

37 percent may as well be zero percent. The 37 percent just means that 95 percent of Republicans have drunk the kool-aid and there is no turning back for them.
The real number to focus on is not the fact that the Republicans have basically committed themselves to a cult of personality (You should see my Grandpa!) but that less than 30 percent of Independants support him.
Every president, no matter how lousy, is almost always going to have 20-35 hardcore supporters. But whne those who don’t really have a deep committment to the message/ideology of your party jump ship, thats the death knell, folks. The Republicans are most likely going to lose a lot of seats, and lose 08 because they’re going to be the corruption/War party. Wait for it.
