Maybe we should thank this David fascist idiot. Itâ€™s still really hard for me to believe that people in this day could believe in book-burning, and censorship, and blindly following the furor. So thanks David, you bring back into focus how obscenely clear it is that some of you would like to slip back into the torturous ways that so many thousands of true Americans have died to overcome. Sounds good to me. How about letting the troops decide who they want to listen to, i.e. put it up for a vote…you know something that Senator Larkin doesn’t want the troops to participate in. The troops don’t want to listen to a bunch of liberals bad mouthing them and would rather listen to Rush for all THREE hours then ten minutes of Mr. Schultz as a point of fact.

I say that if there can’t be an hour of programming from a progressive point of view to balance the same allotment of time given to conservative talkers on Armed Forces Radio, scrap it all. No more talk radio force fed to our troops.

Com on, what sort of National Guard member in their twenties fighting in Iraq gives a damn what some talking head on the radio says? They are more interested in the next Toby Keith or 50 Cent single.

How could we expect anything less from the Bushies? It’s absolutely amazing that they could let the frequently lying Rush Limbaugh continue to broadcast on Armed Forces Radio and would decide to pull the plug to his rightful counterbalance from the progressive side of the fence, Ed Schultz.
The lesson must be this – it’s OK to be inaccurate…it’s OK to do drugs while deriding drug users…it’s OK to purposely lie and twist facts to push a partisan agenda…AS LONG AS YOU’RE DOING IT FOR THE REPUBLICANS.

I have lived through a few wars by Democrats and Republicans and I concur with the saying that “Truth is the First Casualty of War.” I also have observed that the same bullshit rhetoric has been used by Dems and Republicans alike to justify war. A few of my friends enlisted to go to Vietnam so they could “bring democracy to the poor peasants who were suffering under Communism”— an easy slogan pumped into the heads of the YOUNG soldiers. All lies. The Vietnamese were fighting their Civil War for over a hundred years, throwing off the French, the Americans, the Chinese. Of course, the educated people who went to college studied the facts, and were accused of being influenced by Communists. You can go back to our early fights against Communism and the Domino Theory. We have to Fight Them Over There so we won’t be fighting them at Home. Communism, early in the 1950s, was conflated with Satanism. I grew up hearing about the “Godless Communists.” Billy Graham himself preached this. Preached an angry male God, Satan, Fire and Brimstone, FEAR FEAR FEAR to keep the masses under control! Now we have a dyslexic president, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, generations of wealth– so much that he can’t see, nor does he have the imagination to grasp, that he is NOT A SUCCESSFUL, SELF -MADE MAN! He is Born Again, the Fundamentalist churches put on the Full Court Press to create their version of God’s Dominion on Earth, and here we have this mess of a government today! I don’t care what party they are, they are power hungry, and they are going along with lies and corruption in order to stay in power. Sometimes bad presidents can grow in office and accomplish great things. I didn’t like Bush, I saw through him from the beginning, but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it just gets worse and worse. He is the worst president I have every studied.
Please, everyone, study history, study what you can about what is happening today. We are not terrorists, nor Communists, nor Godless Anti Americans! We are fighting to save what this country stands for.

If we are to be at war for the foreseeable future, does the country’s entire political process become ‘frozen in place’ until the leadership decides it is time to declare victory? Sounds like a coup to me…

Would you feel the same way if Gore had done the same things as Bush has done so far? Your side of the political spectrum almost had embolisms with Clinton and an extramarital affair…who knows what measures would be taken for something much more substantial???
