This is from handwritten notes. I read the article pretty quickly, but I did not note that the person who allegedly took these notes was identified. You lefties require anything more proof than alleged handwritten notes from an anonymous source before going off? Didn’t think so, I’ve read a lot of threads here in the past few days.
Roe v. Wade is on shaky grounds. Ethical judges of all persuasions would be forced to vote against it if it came up again, which is why the Left doesn’t want it to come up again. You may “feel” it’s right, but that doesn’t make it so.
NED seems to think that because we opposed an illegal and unjust war, based upon outright fabrications, and have settled for a theocratic and fundamentalistic rule in Iraq, that cost us so far 2000 lives, tens of thousands wounded, billions of dollars and lost credibility and respect, that we hate democracy. He just doesn’t get it — so sad that he doesn’t realize that his own views are the anti-democratic views, as he would impose his militaristic, belligerent and fascist perspective on his fellow Americans.
Marie – the war was not illegal. Democrats and Republicans supported the war on the basis of WMD. Everyone thought they were there. They are SOMEWHERE in the Middle East.
Liberals had no issue with Kosovo. Liberals had no issue bombing Iraq on the eve of Clinton’s impeachment. Plainly said, you are a liar Marie just like most liberals.
NeD – Why aren’t you defending that freedom by signing up for the NY National Guard? Here’s the Manhattan address: (212) 368-8120
2366 5th Ave
New York, NY 10037
Get down there and defend your President’s policies.
Unless, of course, you’re a Chickenhawk coward. But given your bravery here, I shouldn’t think that’s the case.
We all eagerly await the confirmation of your enlistment.
#6 – No. I support the military we have. I don’t have to enlist to have an opinion. Nice talking point – worked real well for Rep. Paul Hackett and President Kerry.
J – we eagerly wait for you to support the troops and stop slandering them over enemy propoganda like Gitmo.
The Republican Party does not want to see Roe vs.Wade
overturned. Why? This is how they hold on to the religious right and to lose the religious right would cost them both the Congress and the presidency.
NED has more important things to do other than to defend democracy. Like, destroy a republic by proxy. Let’s send another hundred million murkans over to Iraq. It could be the New America. Wouldn’t have to ship all that oil over here, it would be better to ship cars to Iraq. Detroit needs the business.
Iraq could become a Christian theocracy instead of a secular government like the Baathists had.
Dick Cheney had more important things to do during the Viet Nam war. NED has more important things to do during the Iraq war… like hassle liberals at a progressive web site.
I won’t hold my breath or stand on one leg to wait for NED to join the National Guard.
We need to overturn Roe v. Wade, and get the illegal abortion process started again. Those 1.5 million illegal abortions in 1951 wasn’t enough. The abortion rate is lower than it was while it was illegal, but don’t tell anybody.
Why? Because the religious leaders in that area told the people how to vote.
Only in communist countries and dictatorships do you
see lopsided votes like that.
Why? Either because the citizens are sheep or are afraid or the votes are never really counted the government makes up the number.
Considering how hard it is to find a baby to adopt in the U.S., I think there would be no problem. I have several close friends who’ve had to go abroad to adopt, and I know another couple waiting to hear, and I know several couples who couldn’t afford to go abroad but would adopt domestically in a second if babies were available. There are a LOT of infertile couples out there. My wife and I would adopt at least two if we could.
The Iraq war was absolutely illegal. Just because the Senate and the House of the United States approves something doesn’t make it legal nor does it make it right. There are international laws, a world community, a United Nations that was put in place and whose framework has been endorsed by the U.S. and enforced when this country was led by sane men. The neocon players (see Bolton, John) have tried like hell to undermine the U.N. so that they can implement their Pax Americana without obstruction. It’s ok to be the world’s only remaining superpower as long as you don’t use that power for evil ends.
The Iraqi vote is a sham, there is no good news from Iraq and there will be no democracy. Not because I wish it to be so (I don’t) but because democracy CANNOT, by its very definition, occur because the people of another part of the world are trying to force it on you. If democracy was taking hold and Iraq were free, the U.S. military would be withdrawing from Baghdad this morning. If you exclude the Kurds, 95% of the population of Iraq want to U.S. out. As long as we stay, and continue to steal their natural resources and rebuild their country in a Western image, democracy is a lie in Iraq.
And, point of fact, I do support our troops. I have three good friends in the military right now, including one of my best friends- he’s a trauma doc in Iraq right now. You simply cannot discern the difference between supported the troops vs. supporting the policy. If you paid any attention to the ex-military leaders who’ve spoken against the way this war and the operations in Afghanistan were prosecuted, you’d understand.
“I support the military we have”….Comical. Straight out of Rumsfeld. “…not the military we wished we had.” It’s time to step up a join, Chickenhawk.
J – I am sorry. I guess if I start lying about the war effort and slandering the troops, I then become a good American. You’re sad, but very useful come election time. With people like you, the GOP has no worries.
You don’t need to lie about anything, you don’t think for yourself. Someone else tells you the lies and you regurgitate them. Explain slandering the troops? It’s a claim that makes no sense. Noone is slandering the troops, but the Bushies and the GOP have mistreated them badly, time and again. With people like you, we will be in a perpetual state of war. Good for United Defense, good for Halliburton.
Your problem is that you still haven’t gotten the memo that the Iraq war has already been exposed as a massive lie-based blunder. Our servicemen are getting killed every day for that mistake and the clowns that executed the entire mess keep spinning and lying and you are among the few that are still buying it. You are simply not an intelligent human, I’m sorry. I’d love to have a good solid debate with the folks on your side, but you guys aren’t even tickling the ballbag of reality. Once you acknowledge a handful of basic truths about what has transpired in Iraq and with the Bush administration, we can butt heads about other left/right type issues….until then, you are merely one of a handful of the voices of delusion.
Now be a patriot and admit that these guys (Reichwing) are trying to destroy the country that you’re supposed to love.
Marie – the war was not illegal. Democrats and Republicans supported the war on the basis of WMD. Everyone thought they were there. They are SOMEWHERE in the Middle East.
What NED is trying to say is when it comes judicial activism, this is a bad thing. When it comes to legislative activism that results in the Congress capitulating its war powers to the Executive branch, this is a good thing.
ned you asshole, stop trying to hijack the thread. The thread is about how insiders are saying Miers will vote against Roe vs Wade.
Why doesn’t that surprise me? Roberts will vote against it too, & when he does, I won’t be shocked. It was one of the reasons I didn’t support him & can’t support Miers.
NeD:
Slander me if you want, and make it sound like I’m anti-military (I’m not, and I challenge you to show where I made an comment to that end)….but the question to you remains: Why won’t you join?
I see NeD got a few talking points over the weekend that he can regugitate here where no one gives a crap. NeD has so much extra time on his hands.
I sure wish he could be a productive member of society. I really despise nonproductive people who just waste the precious time they are given. What a shame that some don’t value what they have.
The military is so shorthanded and NeD spits in their face by ignoring the call. NeD is unproductive, and unpatriotic. Why does NeD hate America? And, why does NeD thumb his nose at those that need him so desperately?
It is sad that he can’t offer all of this time he throws away at us.
A war in which you have to LIE to get people to back is illegal. Maybe the military shouldn’t have NeD there. He would just get his stupid self blown up.
Wanna talk Roe – I doubt Miers will vote to overturn it. Bush’s backdoor policy to the Supreme Court is astounding. Conservatives have won elections largely on the issue of the Court. Democrats are doomed in red states because of their rabid support for abortion, and the George Soros left. Bush made a mistake by going to stealth. He should have appointed Janice Rogers Brown and told the left to go f*ck themselves – win elections if you want a say in this. Unfortunately, he did not.
NeD, did you know that Clinton is not in office anymore? Did you know that he doesn’t have anything to do with your life, don’t you? Don’t you care that you voted in criminals that are running this country NOW. What is so scary about living in the present? Otherwise, again, you are wasting yet more time. Did you know that wasting time is unAmerican?
You are most likely spending your boss’s time insulting others. Doesn’t that sound stupid? You are stealing and for no good reason. That is a huge problem in the work force – people like you stealing time from their employers. Don’t you care that you are cosing America time and energy? Is that the kind of ethic you repubs have? If you aren’t working right now, don’t you have any friends to talk to?
I can’t understand what compels you to be here – why people like you think it fun to call others liars. It isn’t logical to enjoy what you try to do to other people. It seems futile. I don’t do things that mean nothing and serve no purpose.
NeD, you are strange. I am baffled by your extreme waste. What kind of person has nothing better to do? You do understand that you look totally stupid here? You do know you are actually NEEDED somewhere don’t you?
#32 – like I said, your pathetic arguments…. People like PP can’t run on ideas so they have to attack their opponents. Pitbull and Proud is more appropriate.
#34 – of course PP doesn’t work. She could always be some “academic” paid to slander the US. ThinkProgress is her “research tool.” But, no she doesn’t do real work.
Just happened to catch a few minutes of Rush Limbaugh’s drug-addled nonsense while on the road a few minutes ago and I am amazed at how perfectly what he says mirrors what NeD and the rest of the wingnut whackjobs say. They truly could not deliver a coherent thought without the assistance of the reichwing propaganda machine and its Big Lie lines of reasoning. Parallel universe indeed.
Gut, are you really so dumb to think that I wouldn’t expect that question? Really? I can’t believe you took the set up. Dumbass, you have to be a repub.
I work on commission. I get paid for the work I ACTUALLY create. And you???????????????????
Secondly, you people NEVER discuss how to solve America’s problems, you just add to them by relentlessly attacking Republicans. You are immature and foolish, at best, if you think that’s the road back to power.
You have so lowered the bar for political discourse that anything goes. That’s fine – as conservatives have proven with the attacks against Kerry – we hit back and we hit back harder. But, never forget people like you are the root cause.
P & P-
I don’t believe I need to answer that question. You were criticizing NeD for wasting his employer’s time. We should all be working somewhere. You’re the one making personal attacks on this thread, yet you’re go quickly to attack others, call names, and get hysterical (as indicated by 15+ question marks where one would have sufficed). You call me a dumbass for asking a question that was really germane. And no, I am not a “repub.” But, I am not a “Dem” either.
“you people NEVER discuss how to solve America’s problems”
When the house is on fire you don’t start rebuilding it, you put the fire out, then you rebuild. Dismantling the GOP and the rightwing lie machine and getting this very dangerous president and his corrupt cabinet out of office is job #1 in fixing what’s wrong with America. Once that’s been accomplished, and it will be, we can start to rebuild this house. The GREAT ideas are all lined up and ready to go, just need the reclaim the power necessary to implement them. It’s coming brother, just sit tight.
NED, the way to solve America’s problem with abortion is to keep it legal. It was illegal once and the results were botched abortions everywhere. My Mom told me that there was a woman in our neighborhood where I grew up that did abortions on a regular basis. That was during the 1950’s.
Abortion needs to be legal for it to be safe. If Roe v. Wade were to be overturned, it would be bad for America.
Gut, did you really want to know if I have a job? No, you know exactly what you were doing. Nice try, but we here are a little smarter than the crowd you are used to.
J – here’s a hint for next fall: When YOUR house has already been burned down – twice now – I would rebuild that first before worrying about the neighbor’s “burning” house.
PP – one can only what kind of commission you work on. I probably pay for it since I am sure it is taxpayer funded. So as my servant, please get back to work and stop spreading lies about the GOP.
I’m sure NeD, you don’t pay for shit. Do you know how dumb you sound? Except to the trolls, of course, they love any little friend they can find. Too bad they are all virtual.
You wish you had such a good job. My job is helping people – idiots like you most of the time. Repubs are my biggest clientele. Hint: becuase they steal.
I hate to tell you this Jay but the Democratic Party is too fragmented. This was in the WSJ today. It’s describes the current state of the DNC and it’s not looking too promising.
The Democratic Party has been hijacked by 1960s retreads like Howard Dean; billionaire eccentrics like George Soros; and leftwing computer geeks like Moveon.org. It nominated John Kerry, a notorious Vietnam-era antiwar activist, as its presidential standard-bearer. Its major spokesmen are old extremists like Ted Kennedy and new propagandists like Michael Moore. Its great presidential hope is one of the most divisive figures in U.S. politics, Hillary Clinton. And its favorite son is an impeached, disbarred, held-in-contempt ex-president, Bill Clinton.
The Democratic Party today is split over the war and a host of cultural issues, such as same-sex marriage and partial birth abortion. It wants to raise taxes, but dares not say so. It can’t decide what message to convey to the American people or how to convey it. And even its once- reliable allies in the big media aren’t as influential in promoting the party and its agenda as they were in the past. The new media–talk radio, the Internet and cable TV–not only have a growing following, but have helped expose the bias and falsehoods of the big-media, e.g., Dan Rather, CBS News and the forged National Guard documents. Hence, circulation and audience is down, and dropping.
The American left is stuck trying to repeat the history of its presumed glory years. They hope people will see Iraq as Vietnam, the entirety of the Bush administration as Watergate and Hurricane Katrina as the Great Depression. Beyond looking to the past for their salvation, the problem is that they continue to deceive even themselves.
Ron – I disagree with you, but respect your concerns. Overturning Roe doesn’t outlaw abortion. AND the scope has been so perverted by the Courts that they now are going against the will of the people on issues like partial birth and rulings against parental consent which are anti-family.
I know this is a longshot, but since there were some signs from her past that shw might have at some point actually had a conscience, what if she was just dropping hints like that and telling Our Leader that he’s brilliant just to trick them into giving her a job they couldn’t fire her from. Remember when Our Leader promised us that, if elected, he would “jawbone OPEC” to help us out on the price of gas. Yeah, he really followed through on that. So maybe she’s just letting people think she might be anti-choice in order to get some support from the wingnuts. As we all know, campaign promises from BushCo count for absolutely nothing.
Now get back to work NeD, I don’t want to have to clean up your mess too. You repubs kiss my ass everyday. I took less money to do this, too. I find it most enjoyable to have to tell greedy little boys who got a bit too big for their britches like you what they did wrong and how to fix themselves up to be presentable and productive members of society. Generally, because they didn’t learn it from their absentee parents. You are all from the same mold – interchangeable.
I agree with the WSJ that the Democratic party is fragmented and quite honestly, I rip the Dems for their collective cowardice as much as anybody. The problem is with the WSJ’s characterization of the people mentioned in the post. They and the right in general keep painting ridiculously false images of Dean, Soros, Kennedy (their all-time favorite) Kerry, et al. I suppose some of it sticks with the brainwashed % of the populace but really, haven’t people figured out how brazenly evil and fu%&^* up the right is at this point? They’ve done more damage in 5 years than I ever imagined was possible. This country couldn’t have been trashed more thoroughly if it was being run by our worst enemies.
Susan – that’s a vicious thing to say, but not surprising coming from you. Thank god you had your abortions – the thought of someone like you reproducing is pretty scary.
He is the posterchild for it, Susan. But hey, at least I can make a tidy profit from greedy repubs like him. It is the highlight of my day to their checks roll in. And it is, overwhelmingly, the repubs who need my services. I sent one back home to mommy about a month ago. So pathetic that their greed overcomes their logical thought process – as we see here daily.
You just insulted me – “greedy repubs like him.”…..”greedy little boys who got a bit too big for their britches like you what they did wrong and how to fix them”
The problems in the past five years were primarily the result of nature (hurricanes, etc.) and messes created in the previous 8 year administration. 9-11 was not planned in the 8.5 months preceding, it was planned over many years and had its foundation in Clinton’s mishandling foreign policy (which he naively had promised during the ‘92 election, that he’d be the “domestic policy” President, or some such nonsense) and his misunderstanding of terrorists. And if Clinton had pressed the U.N. to enforce the cease-fire agreement that Saddam had made in 1991 instead of issuing a dozen nasty sounding resolutions with empty threats, it would not have been a mess for Bush to clean up. You see, the first Gulf War did not officially end– it was suspended with a cease-fire agreement pending Saddam Hussein’s many promises and concessions, all of which he broke with exception of invading Kuwait again. 2003 brought enforcement of the terms of the cease-fire, not a “unilateral unprovoked attack” as the pacifist like to say. Some of us remember better.
P.S. P&P – you are a non-stop insult machine! You can’t even see that?
Answer please. You evade answering nearly every question posted to you. You come here for the sole purpose of insulting. What are you scared of? Just answer.
Jay, the people on the right would say the same about the left.
I suppose some of it sticks with the brainwashed % of the populace but really, haven’t people figured out how brazenly evil and fu%&^* up the left is at this point? They’ve done more damage in 30 years than I ever imagined was possible. This country couldn’t have been trashed more thoroughly if it was being run by our worst enemies.
What the right is talking about is what has happened to our society. The right keep winning elections because they are objecting to what is happening to the country by liberal positions that are permitted by the courts and not by the people. Through the appointments of new people to the court the majority of Americans feel that changes will happen. People do not like what is happening to their children. What they are being exposed to. What they are being taugt or permitted to do without their knowledge or permission.
That is what is going on. It is a shame that the left refuses to acknowledge this. Because it is so fragmented it tries to be beholden to all at the cost of not having a clear message.
Jay I appreciate the civility in your response. Wish others would be.
P.P.S. Bush has many faults, has disappointed me often, but he’s not the evil person you make him out to be. I not sure how you guys got stuck in such an angry rut. But I’m sure you’d be glad to tell me.
rational discussion. Little to be found. Why is it any of your business what I want here? You sure seem high on yourself and your job helping poor out of work Republicans.
Oh, they aren’t out of work; they just steal from their employers.
You are a troll. That is what you have acted like, so that is what you will be treated like. You don’t want rational discussion or you wouldn’t have posted that attempted “dig” to me regarding work.
Too late, troll, you can’t backtrack now and try to be anything other than what you are. People like you come and spew talking points and defend the criminals that you put in charge of our children. You have been found out and must incur the wrath of your choices.
I’m going to be as honest and clear as I can be in my response.
The reason that Republicans are winning elections is twofold.
First, they have built an enormously loud, well-funded and far-reaching message machine that has its roots in think tanks like the Heritage Foundation and faux Christian fundamentalist organizations like Focus of the Family. The right has figured out that by convincing the average working class American that “liberals” are trying to steal their tax dollars, appease our enemies and “gayify” our supreme world dominance they can drive them away from their own interests. The Democrats have always stood for labor, civil rights, equality, humanity, peace (unless provoked), and a better “whole” country. The right and the GOP uses its wedge issues and religion to scare, confuse, divide and anger the masses. They use the age old technique of propaganda and repetition to convey their message. The complete compromise of a GOP-owned and operated mainstream media has successfully allowed such nonsense to go unchallenged. All the while they tell you that the evil liberal media is covering up all the good news that 5 years of GOP policy have wrought. Meanwhile, the angry, misinformed masses overlook the evidence that slaps them in the face as they go about trying to make it in an increasingly difficult economy under GOP policies. The GOP and the conservatives are about consolidating wealth and power and keeping it. That happens at the expense of the middle class, the poor and the treasure of the United States. In essence they rob from the poor and give to the rich by decimating social programs that help people and by allowing BIG Oil/Pharma/Military to suck the very federally funded teat that they accuse the liberals of helping the population with.
The other issue is who owns the voting machines and ultimately who counts the votes. There is NO DOUBT that the last two elections were hacked and compromised. Of course that same rightwing message machine will cry “conspiracy theorist” at anyone that speaks up about this with the cover of the mainstream media, but there is too much evidence for this to be denied.
You never answered the question- You’re 29 or so, you support the president and have repeatedly said that fighting terrorist in Iraq is paramount to national security, and there is a shortage of enlistments in the National Guard.
So. Why aren’t you enlisting?
Hint: The answer isn’t in attacking me, telling me I’m a military/Bush/America hater. Why are my friends in Iraq right now & you’re not? Especially since you’re such a fervent supporter…..
Screw all that Miers v. Roe v. Wade crap. What I want to know is why the White House needs to call that creep James Dobson of Focus on the Family and that stupid fuck Richard Land at Faith and Family to brief them on Supreme Court nominations?
The GOP does not own and control the majority of the media. It is a fact that the media vote Democrat 80+% of the time. They control the networks of ABC,CBS and NBC (clearly FOX has a conservative agenda). They own almost all of the large market print. They control Hollywood. As an example, look at what happened with “Passion of Christ”. They control the NEA and that is supported by 80+% of the teachers voting Democrat. Funny how teachers are against school choice but a dispportinate share of their children attend private school compared to the populace. They also do not like being evaluated for their skill level. You brought up the point about Republican strategies of false fears and repeating something over and over. I have no idea how old you are but I am old enough to have lived through Jimmy Carter. Bill Clinton’s campaign kept saying repeatedly “the worst economy in 50 years”. That was an unchallenged lie by Bush Sr. Probably what brought him down. Under Reagan more minorities left the poverty level than anytime in history. Under the current Bush more minorities have become homeowners ever in the history of the US. Bush has outspent Clinton 368 billion to 197 billion in entitlement programs. The list goes on.
The talking points of the DNC are not working. Again, Americans turn on the tv and the radios and some wonder how and why this is happening. I mean we don’t allow people to walk around nude. Why do we allow such vulgarity to be in our entertainment. Parents don’t like it. My point is that society establishes where the morality line is. America as a majority knows that we have crossed the line and they see the groups that I previously outlined as the ones responsible. They see them as members of the DNC. They feel like the ACLU takes mostly liberal positions. They see ACLU equals DNC. That is the image.
On your last point regarding voting irregularities. I would say do some objective internet searches. Arguments from both sides. I think if you might draw some different conclusions.
Ben, you’ve made my point about the misinformed being spun by the propaganda machine. Hang in there buddy and keep reading. Try to break away from Faux News and rightwing radio.
If the mainstream media were not covering the Bush administrations ass, we would have heard some covrage on the following stories rather than Michael Jackson, the runaway bride and Natalie Holloway:
war-profiteering.
Downing Street memo.
Why did Bush and Cheney have to testify together without being under oath for the 9/11 commission.
No WMD?
Stovepiping.
The Office of Special Plans.
Covert Propaganda.
What U.S. companies made millions on the so-called oil-for-food scandals?
Bush, Cheney, Rove, Ashcroft, Limbaugh, O’Reilly all chickenhawks….but Kerry the true war hero that had the courage to say a Vietnam was wrong gets smeared?
Meanwhile we get inundated with “Kerry looks French” and Sandy Berger put docs in his pants and Clinton blah, blah, whatever.
How does anyone know how this Miers womean would vote? It is a joke these conservatives thinks they are the only one that counts. I thought America was suppose to be for all the people living here.
Why do they show the Michael Jackson, Runaway bride, etc. stories?
Becuse someone thinks it will draw a bigger market share.
I know about those stories. You know about them. Ever watch those Jay Leno segments where they ask questions to people on the street? It’s amazing, it’s sad and it’s true. They’re to busy debating who will get kicked off survivor. Too many of those individuals claim to vote for the Democratic candidate. Problem is some are lying. About the voting part that is.
In fairness Jay they didn’t cover a lot of scandals in the previous administration either. The Clinton Chinagate deal was brushed over. No one ever got all the details out of Whitewater. And for those that say there was nothing there they simply do not understand the effectiveness of the US Attorney General’s Office when it comes to investigations. Reno did a lot of things that impeded justice. Look currently at the Able Danger story. That has Clinton implications all over it. Is ABC, CBS or NBC pursuing the story.? Hell no. That might impact the Clinton campaign in 2008. But enough about this.
The fact of the matter is that despite Bush’s low approval ratings the Democrats are not making gains. Why? They are too fragmented. They need all the pieces to defeat a united Republican Party. Jay, I don’t see that happening. At least not in the near future.
Someone has got some splainin’ to do…
October 17th, 2005 at 7:59 am2 points–
This is from handwritten notes. I read the article pretty quickly, but I did not note that the person who allegedly took these notes was identified. You lefties require anything more proof than alleged handwritten notes from an anonymous source before going off? Didn’t think so, I’ve read a lot of threads here in the past few days.
Roe v. Wade is on shaky grounds. Ethical judges of all persuasions would be forced to vote against it if it came up again, which is why the Left doesn’t want it to come up again. You may “feel” it’s right, but that doesn’t make it so.
October 17th, 2005 at 9:12 amNo story on how the Iraqi people proved the democracy haters on this site wrong??? None at all…
October 17th, 2005 at 9:15 amNED seems to think that because we opposed an illegal and unjust war, based upon outright fabrications, and have settled for a theocratic and fundamentalistic rule in Iraq, that cost us so far 2000 lives, tens of thousands wounded, billions of dollars and lost credibility and respect, that we hate democracy. He just doesn’t get it — so sad that he doesn’t realize that his own views are the anti-democratic views, as he would impose his militaristic, belligerent and fascist perspective on his fellow Americans.
October 17th, 2005 at 9:56 amMarie – the war was not illegal.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:01 amNeD – Why aren’t you defending that freedom by signing up for the NY National Guard? Here’s the Manhattan address: (212) 368-8120

Get down there and defend your President’s policies.
Unless, of course, you’re a Chickenhawk coward. But given your bravery here, I shouldn’t think that’s the case.
We all eagerly await the confirmation of your enlistment.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:17 amDo chickenhawks carry H5N1?
October 17th, 2005 at 10:29 am#6 – No. I support the military we have. I don’t have to enlist to have an opinion. Nice talking point – worked real well for Rep. Paul Hackett and President Kerry.
J – we eagerly wait for you to support the troops and stop slandering them over enemy propoganda like Gitmo.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:31 amThe Republican Party does not want to see Roe vs.Wade
October 17th, 2005 at 10:34 amoverturned. Why? This is how they hold on to the religious right and to lose the religious right would cost them both the Congress and the presidency.

We need to overturn Roe v. Wade, and get the illegal abortion process started again. Those 1.5 million illegal abortions in 1951 wasn’t enough. The abortion rate is lower than it was while it was illegal, but don’t tell anybody.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:35 amNeD – Falluja province (Sunni) votes 97% against.
Why? Because the religious leaders in that area told the people how to vote.
Only in communist countries and dictatorships do you
October 17th, 2005 at 10:37 amsee lopsided votes like that.
Why? Either because the citizens are sheep or are afraid or the votes are never really counted the government makes up the number.
All thoes who want unwanted babys, please leave your address so we can take them to your house. HELLO…
October 17th, 2005 at 10:42 amConsidering how hard it is to find a baby to adopt in the U.S., I think there would be no problem.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:51 amThe Iraq war was absolutely illegal.
NeD, you are a moron.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:53 amBill Clinton said the war was not illegal.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:55 amBill Clinton was wrong.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:56 amCluck-Cluck…. Cheney…..Cluck Cluck…..DeLay…..Cluck-Cluck…..NeD…..
http://www.vaiw.org/vet/images/chicken.gif
And, point of fact, I do support our troops. I have three good friends in the military right now, including one of my best friends- he’s a trauma doc in Iraq right now. You simply cannot discern the difference between supported the troops vs. supporting the policy. If you paid any attention to the ex-military leaders who’ve spoken against the way this war and the operations in Afghanistan were prosecuted, you’d understand.
“I support the military we have”….Comical. Straight out of Rumsfeld. “…not the military we wished we had.” It’s time to step up a join, Chickenhawk.
October 17th, 2005 at 10:57 amJ – I am sorry. I guess if I start lying about the war effort and slandering the troops, I then become a good American. You’re sad, but very useful come election time. With people like you, the GOP has no worries.
October 17th, 2005 at 11:01 amNeD,
You don’t need to lie about anything, you don’t think for yourself.
October 17th, 2005 at 11:04 amJay – sure, buddy. You’re an independent. No one in this blog thinks like you.
October 17th, 2005 at 11:11 amNeD,
Your problem is that you still haven’t gotten the memo that the Iraq war has already been exposed as a massive lie-based blunder.
October 17th, 2005 at 11:25 am“tickling the ballbag of reality”
…sorry, not sure I even know what that means, but it sounded kinda funny.
October 17th, 2005 at 11:27 amNED wrote:
What NED is trying to say is when it comes judicial activism, this is a bad thing. When it comes to legislative activism that results in the Congress capitulating its war powers to the Executive branch, this is a good thing.
October 17th, 2005 at 11:36 amned you asshole, stop trying to hijack the thread. The thread is about how insiders are saying Miers will vote against Roe vs Wade.
Why doesn’t that surprise me? Roberts will vote against it too, & when he does, I won’t be shocked. It was one of the reasons I didn’t support him & can’t support Miers.
October 17th, 2005 at 11:52 amNeD:
October 17th, 2005 at 12:03 pmSlander me if you want, and make it sound like I’m anti-military (I’m not, and I challenge you to show where I made an comment to that end)….but the question to you remains: Why won’t you join?
I see NeD got a few talking points over the weekend that he can regugitate here where no one gives a crap. NeD has so much extra time on his hands.
I sure wish he could be a productive member of society. I really despise nonproductive people who just waste the precious time they are given. What a shame that some don’t value what they have.
The military is so shorthanded and NeD spits in their face by ignoring the call. NeD is unproductive, and unpatriotic. Why does NeD hate America? And, why does NeD thumb his nose at those that need him so desperately?
It is sad that he can’t offer all of this time he throws away at us.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:05 pmA war in which you have to LIE to get people to back is illegal. Maybe the military shouldn’t have NeD there. He would just get his stupid self blown up.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:07 pmKindness – I get them every time – don’t I?
Wanna talk Roe – I doubt Miers will vote to overturn it. Bush’s backdoor policy to the Supreme Court is astounding. Conservatives have won elections largely on the issue of the Court. Democrats are doomed in red states because of their rabid support for abortion, and the George Soros left. Bush made a mistake by going to stealth. He should have appointed Janice Rogers Brown and told the left to go f*ck themselves – win elections if you want a say in this. Unfortunately, he did not.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:25 pmPP – Did Clinton lie on the eve of impechment when he bombed Iraq without the consent of Congress? PP – you’re a liar.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:26 pmNeD, did you know that Clinton is not in office anymore?
October 17th, 2005 at 12:41 pmPeople like NeD are ruining this country by their thievery. NeD, Delay, Frist – you are all the same kind of beast.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:43 pm#32 – like I said, your pathetic arguments…. People like PP can’t run on ideas so they have to attack their opponents. Pitbull and Proud is more appropriate.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:48 pmSo, P & P, don’t you work?
October 17th, 2005 at 12:49 pm#34 – of course PP doesn’t work. She could always be some “academic” paid to slander the US. ThinkProgress is her “research tool.” But, no she doesn’t do real work.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:52 pmNeD, I come here to chat with others about how to fix what is wrong with America.
What you do here is attack. What you are doing is called projecting. You are the unwelcome one that is WASTING time.
Why don’t you answer any of the questions posed?
October 17th, 2005 at 12:54 pmJust happened to catch a few minutes of Rush Limbaugh’s drug-addled nonsense while on the road a few minutes ago and I am amazed at how perfectly what he says mirrors what NeD and the rest of the wingnut whackjobs say. They truly could not deliver a coherent thought without the assistance of the reichwing propaganda machine and its Big Lie lines of reasoning. Parallel universe indeed.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:55 pmGut, are you really so dumb to think that I wouldn’t expect that question? Really? I can’t believe you took the set up. Dumbass, you have to be a repub.
I work on commission. I get paid for the work I ACTUALLY create. And you???????????????????
October 17th, 2005 at 12:55 pmNeD, my position is higher than yours. Thief you are.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:56 pmBTW, Clinton currently holds no office. You seem to have a VERY short memory.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:57 pmDon’t you feel stupid now, Gut?
October 17th, 2005 at 12:58 pmI did answer the question posed.
October 17th, 2005 at 12:58 pmThan why are you here? Are you that lonely? And, no you didn’t answer the questionS posed. Why do you want to spend time around people you hate?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:00 pmP & P-
October 17th, 2005 at 1:01 pmI don’t believe I need to answer that question.
Rotgut – so true. What do expect from thoughtless hypocrites like PP?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:02 pmAnswer, NeD. Why don’t you make your pathetic existence useful as long as you are stealing time.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:02 pm“you people NEVER discuss how to solve America’s problems”
October 17th, 2005 at 1:03 pmGut, I would be embarrassed to call myself a repub too. Question marks don’t show hysteria – that’s a stupid conclusion.
NeD comes here and attacks. What other reason would he be here? When you use work time to insult others that is stealing. What do you call it?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:05 pmNED, the way to solve America’s problem with abortion is to keep it legal.
I’m staying on topic. But, I digress.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:06 pmSo, Gut, are you stealing too? “We should all be working somewhere?” And stealing? I’ve fired people for less.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:06 pmGut, did you really want to know if I have a job? No, you know exactly what you were doing. Nice try, but we here are a little smarter than the crowd you are used to.
Why are YOU here?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:08 pmJ – here’s a hint for next fall: When YOUR house has already been burned down – twice now – I would rebuild that first before worrying about the neighbor’s “burning” house.
PP – one can only what kind of commission you work on. I probably pay for it since I am sure it is taxpayer funded. So as my servant, please get back to work and stop spreading lies about the GOP.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:08 pmI’m sure NeD, you don’t pay for shit. Do you know how dumb you sound? Except to the trolls, of course, they love any little friend they can find. Too bad they are all virtual.
You wish you had such a good job. My job is helping people – idiots like you most of the time. Repubs are my biggest clientele. Hint: becuase they steal.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:10 pmI hate to tell you this Jay but the Democratic Party is too fragmented.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:11 pmRon – I disagree with you, but respect your concerns. Overturning Roe doesn’t outlaw abortion. AND the scope has been so perverted by the Courts that they now are going against the will of the people on issues like partial birth and rulings against parental consent which are anti-family.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:11 pmI know this is a longshot, but since there were some signs from her past that shw might have at some point actually had a conscience, what if she was just dropping hints like that and telling Our Leader that he’s brilliant just to trick them into giving her a job they couldn’t fire her from.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:13 pmNow get back to work NeD, I don’t want to have to clean up your mess too.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:16 pmI wish NED was aborted.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:20 pmBen,
I agree with the WSJ that the Democratic party is fragmented and quite honestly, I rip the Dems for their collective cowardice as much as anybody.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:21 pmSusan – that’s a vicious thing to say, but not surprising coming from you. Thank god you had your abortions – the thought of someone like you reproducing is pretty scary.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:26 pmHe is the posterchild for it, Susan.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:27 pmSUPPORT THE TROOPS
WITHDRAW FROM IRAQ NOW!
If you want to see how bad off our military is go to any gate at any military installation. Manning the gates are WAL-MART GREETERS.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:27 pmNeD, that wasn’t very nice. What purpose did that insult serve? Was it just fun for you?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:28 pmPP – what purposes do your insults serve? Is it fun for you?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:29 pmI don’t come here to insult – you do. Answer please.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:30 pmAre you at work? Are you stealing from your employer right now?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:31 pmYou just insulted me – “greedy repubs like him.”…..”greedy little boys who got a bit too big for their britches like you what they did wrong and how to fix them”
October 17th, 2005 at 1:31 pmThe problems in the past five years were primarily the result of nature (hurricanes, etc.) and messes created in the previous 8 year administration.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:32 pmAnswer please. You evade answering nearly every question posted to you. You come here for the sole purpose of insulting. What are you scared of? Just answer.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:33 pmRotgut – PP thinks insulting conservatives is a public service.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:34 pmJay, the people on the right would say the same about the left.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:34 pm#69 – does it bother that I won’t answer? Good.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:34 pmGut, what do you want here?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:34 pmP.P.S. Bush has many faults, has disappointed me often, but he’s not the evil person you make him out to be. I not sure how you guys got stuck in such an angry rut. But I’m sure you’d be glad to tell me.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:35 pmPP – You are truly amazing. Well, I must go now. I actually do HAVE work to do.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:35 pmNo, I just can’t understand why you continue to waste your time? How do you have so much extra time? Can’t you donate it?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:35 pmRun away, NeD. We are used to it here. At least you will stop stealing. I despise theives and time wasters. Now, back to actual business.
THAT is how you run a troll off.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:38 pm“Gut, what do you want here?”
rational discussion. Little to be found. Why is it any of your business what I want here? You sure seem high on yourself and your job helping poor out of work Republicans.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:39 pmOh, they aren’t out of work; they just steal from their employers.
October 17th, 2005 at 1:53 pmwow, call that rational?
October 17th, 2005 at 1:56 pmBen #70,
I’m going to be as honest and clear as I can be in my response.
October 17th, 2005 at 2:21 pmNeD-
You never answered the question- You’re 29 or so, you support the president and have repeatedly said that fighting terrorist in Iraq is paramount to national security, and there is a shortage of enlistments in the National Guard.
So. Why aren’t you enlisting?
Hint: The answer isn’t in attacking me, telling me I’m a military/Bush/America hater. Why are my friends in Iraq right now & you’re not? Especially since you’re such a fervent supporter…..
October 17th, 2005 at 2:24 pmScrew all that Miers v. Roe v. Wade crap. What I want to know is why the White House needs to call that creep James Dobson of Focus on the Family and that stupid fuck Richard Land at Faith and Family to brief them on Supreme Court nominations?
October 17th, 2005 at 2:42 pmJay I will try to take on points you have made.
October 17th, 2005 at 2:55 pmBen, you’ve made my point about the misinformed being spun by the propaganda machine.
October 17th, 2005 at 3:14 pmHow does anyone know how this Miers womean would vote? It is a joke these conservatives thinks they are the only one that counts. I thought America was suppose to be for all the people living here.
October 17th, 2005 at 3:27 pmJay,
Why do they show the Michael Jackson, Runaway bride, etc.
