Another flipper.

By Nico Pitney on Oct 19th, 2005 at 2:35 pm

Another flipper.

“A second Cheney aide, David Wurmser, has agreed to provide the prosecution with evidence that the leak was a coordinated effort by Cheney’s office to discredit the agent’s husband,” Raw Story reports.

Look bushie, poop flows “up-hill!”…you better practice ‘I’m not a crook’..over and over.

  2. Anti Warhol says:

The important thing to keep in mind about this is not that mid-level administration officials have been flipped, but the domino effect it has on the whole investigation.

Once somebody has broken the seal, everybody is going to want to cut a deal, otherwise they very quickly become targets.

  3. afterthought says:

I think you have that right Anti.
It appears that the prosecutor is as good
    as his reputation.
Nothing may come of it, but it appears
that he has been doing his job competently
as opposed “Leak Starr”. Isn’t that an old
    CSN song? I digress.

This why congress and senate give to eachother’s “legal funds”. Problem is, these mid-level folks can’t afford justice-so they squeal. Will they never learn?

  5. Pete Bogs says:

what will Wurmser tell Dick when confronted about this defection? here are a few thoughts:

    “Out of my way, dick.”

“They took my thumb, Cheney! They took my thumb!”

“I cannot comment about an ongoing investigation.”

    “Go f*ck yourself, Mr. Cheney.”

    “Better you than me.”

  6. Clyde the Ripper says:

Wurmser, Hannah, Libby, Rove, Cheney, and here comes “Beetlebaum.” Spike Jones would have a field day! Bushie is Bye Bye! DUHbya is done!

  7. Zookeeper says:

Wurmser’s mama must be so proud. *sniff*

  8. bill d says:

It’s starting to smell like watergate all over again. No honor among thieves, etc. This is how the mighty fall. Either way, the bull has already been neutered. Now is the time for the true moderates to step up and bring sense back to both parties.

  9. Concerned Conservative says:

So what happens if there are no indictments? Will you guys admit that there was no wrongdoing? Or will Fitzgerald suddenly become a republican plant?

  10. afterthought says:

    No CC,
The information DID get leaked, so
“no wrongdoing” is not an option.
Not enough evidence clearly IS, and
I can live with that as it APPEARS
the prosecutor is a straight shooter.
Can YOU live with indictments if they
happen, or will it be a conspiracy?

  11. Pete Bogs says:

CC, we’ll think “SSDD,” which means “same shit, different day”

we’ll be disappointed about the outcome, but not surprised – the bad guy often wins, especially in politics… there was CLEARLY wrongdoing, any lack of indictments notwithstanding…

  12. afterthought says:

What pleases me more than anything is that
the investigation does not look like a
whitewash. Judy went to jail (she can go
back or to AEI, but that’s the same difference),
people are apparently “flipping” so it doesn’t
LOOK like a whitewash, which unfortunately
is what I expected from the crooked crony
    conservatives.

  13. Sara says:

Happy happy joy joy! Nicely timed with Delay’s warrant too! This is a fun week!

  14. progressive and proud says:

Delicious, trolls, just delicious. Grab the popcorn and watch the cannibalism. Repubs will always turn on one another to save their own skin. Is there just no honor among theives anymore?

  15. Concerned Conservative says:

#12 — yes I can live with the indictments if they happen. I have been consistent on this — I have always said if they are guilty then lock ‘em up.

#13 sounds like he will claim “whitewash” even thought this investigator looks clean.

  16. David says:

#9- That the CIA is still in horrible shape after the last couple of years is not surprising. There looks to be a pattern repeating; careerists bailing from federal agencies that appear to have been politicized over the course of this administration. That we haven’t witnessed more of what appears to be almost open warfare at CIA, or at least some of the fallout, in the press is a little surprising, but hell, it is the CIA.

#11- It wouldn’t be surprising if nothing comes of this, but it would stil be shocking. There was a crime committed- the CIA wouldn’t have referred it to the DOJ if they didn’t feel there was. But, having lived through the Iran/Contra coverup, the looting of the S&Ls, BCCI, the whitewash of weapons sales to Iraq, the “looking the other way” over Saudi funding for terrorism, Pakistan’s nuclear proliferation activities and involvelment with Islamist terrorism… Well, I think you get the idea.

  17. Pablo in Mexico says:

Turd bush knew about this for two years, and lied and lied and lied to the Amerukn people. For that alone he should be impeached, but you see, we can get an impeachment resolution introduced into the house of reps because they are all crooks.

Bush is done, toast, and thankfully he is taking the entire conservative movement with him.

Remember how liberal used to be a dirty word? Well now it is CONSERVATIVE that is a dirty word.

  18. Jay says:

The Bushies, or should I say the Cheneys, have committed unspeakably horrible crimes by lying to the country, lying to Congress, and lying to the world to invade a sovereign nation that posed no threat and killing 10’s of thousands of innocents including 2,000 American soldiers and completely raping the U.S. Treasury and our democracy in the process. No, I won’t be happy if they didn’t bump this thing up a level or two to take these monsters down. If Fitzgerald doesn’t, someone else will. This is just the beginning. I had a dream last night that Fitzgerald announced that he had evidence that Cheney knew about 9/11 in advance……do you think?

  19. AmericanPie says:

No, you’re wrong Pab-blow in Mexico. Liberal is still a dirty word.

  20. afterthought says:

    Crooked Crony Conservatives must go!

  21. Jay says:

Uh-huh, liberal is dirty in a spin-cycle, Tide-country sorta way….conservative is dirty in a “I don’t think the power-washer and a paint job is gonna work honey, we might have to rebuild it” way.

  22. Ryan Neat says:

“No, you’re wrong Pab-blow in Mexico. Liberal is still a dirty word.
    Comment by AmericanPie ”

Thank god the founding fathers were dirty, and didn’t simply believe all of the rightwing philosophies of the european feudal system. How quickly reichwingers forget that their values aren’t new, but simply rehashed social feudalism, and ‘classist’ elitist bullcrap. The only thing dirty is the value system of CONservative CON artists. Now THAT’S dirty!

I feel proud of the liberal accomplishments.

    40 hour work week.
    child labor laws.
    public education for the poor.
healthcare for the poor and elderly.
social security to abolish the elder homeless.
    civil rights for minorities.
    voting rights for women.
    GI Bill for educating veterans.
    veteran’s health care and retirement.
worker safety rules, regulations and OSHA.
    EPA for protecting our environment.
and the list goes on and on.

What accomplishments have republicans done? Dismantled as many programs as possible that protect americans.
Handed much of the control of government to whacko corporate or religious interests.
Undermined our world standing through illegal wars, torture and exploitation.
    Created, Trained and Funded AlQueda!
    SOLD WMDs TO IRAQ
    SOLD PLUTONIUM REACTORS TO IRAN
44% of the Pentagon is now Cronyism NO BID CONTRACTS
The list of utter failures goes on and on.

The fact that CONservatives actually think they’re ‘clean’ or ‘good’ is just delusional nonsense they tell themselves to justify and rationalize their inexcusable actions!

  23. Concerned Conservative says:

#18 — I have long since given up hope on having a “clean” government. They are all crooks and liars. Nothing will stop them. Nixon resigned under pressure and yet the stealing and lying has continued to this day under both Dem and Rep administrations.

Nothing will change with a few Bush people taking a hit, other than some Democrat crooks and liars having a better chance to take office so they can spew slightly different lies at us and steal our money to throw it away on their particular pet projects.

Maybe I should change my moniker to Cynical Conservative?

  24. Ryan Neat says:

    CC,

This is why it’s critical to have public campaign financing – but in general republicans are the largest impediment to this. What’s shocking is that Arizona (a VERY republican state) not only has public campaign financing, but they also have no Diebold and are able to win just by being republicans. I may not agree with them, but I have a great deal of respect for their effectiveness with respect to both of these situations! Now if you can only bring this kind of rational experience to all of the biibul thumping morons of the ‘reichwing’, you might even get a real republican party with values worth voting for!

  25. snookered says:

This investigation has gone on a long time. For the most part, the good, inside, titllating and in-demand info was not forthcoming. Now it is the case that plenty of juicy details are emerging, not just junk stuff,(think Karl’s garage)but good stuff. Names are now coming onto the radar which up to know were barely spoken or known. This is not happening by accident. There is a caper at hand. The same crowd who excuse national crimes as common daily political practise are the folks who will ease the blow for the Bushies. They’re be no real accounting!

  26. Pete Bogs says:

CC – to the contrary, I think Patrick Fitzgerald is a fine, upstanding Irish-American and public servant… and if he does indict, he can have as many pints of Guinness as he wants on me…

  27. Pablo in Mexico says:

AMERICAN PIE-eat me, im a weiner schnitzel.

RYAN NEAT-well said, you hit the nail on the head. They are trying to take away everything that the libs have given the people over the years.

Mike Pence, the idiot neocon, ultraright religious wacko from Indiana says that we are going to be able to afford the NOLA cleanup. Then went ahead and told of the plans they wre, the pukes that is, are going to gut, to include medicare, education, on and on.

I watched some of the Hussein trial this morning. I have no use for the murderous asshole, but he has got the right idea. The war was illegal, and he does not recognize the court because it was set up by the Amurkins. Right on both counts.

Dig this, they are going to try Hussein, but they have no court system. What they have are 5 judges selected by the US who they supposedly trained and are paying them a healthy one hundred thousand dollars a year to hear the trial of Hussein. The judges will take turns hearing the testimony so that all can vote on the verdict since they are judge and jury combined.

    What a crock of shit.

  28. Mary Poppin says:

I was wondering how they could have a trail when they don’t have a constitution yet. We are paying these so called 5 judges one hundred thousand dollars a year. I take it the money is coming form the taxpayers. This really sucks. We can not take care of our people in the U.S. but we can give it to a country we owe nothing to. Thanks for the info.

  29. Marie says:

Hussein will not be allowed to testify about the aid and weapons he got from Rumsfeld in the late ’80’s so he could fight Iran. It seems that the USofA has selected the judges and determined what will be allowed to be said in court.

  30. Marie says:

Wurmser was associated with Bolton, as well as being in Cheney’s inner circle.

  31. Sharon Cox says:

Another day, more crazy junk being pulled off by the repub. nut job’s. I’m getting tired of emailing and calling my representatives and getting nothing done. Five years + of this mess has taken it’s toll. Now we are close to 2,000 lost and 20,000 injured, possibly 100,000 Iraq citizens including 18 children day before yesterday. 8 Trillion in debt and people in need getting cut out of their benefits, 350,000 citizens displased with little or no aid. Where are the leaders of our party, why are they so quiet.? ….Blessings

  32. Marie says:

Sharon, The other day I rec’d a call from a Democratic org. asking for a donation — well I gave that poor volunteer an earfull. They will get money from me when I see that they are acting on my behalf, and those like me, for whom they serve. I went off on the guy and he said he would pass along my message. I have done similarly in written communications with the Dem Party.
I DO give them money, and that’s how they know where to find me, but I won’t throw my hard earned $$ down a hole if they aren’t working for me.
There is so much out there now that the Dems can pounce on, but they remain as bystanders.

  33. Sharon Cox says:

Marie, I’ve done the same. but my contrbutions were through the mail and my letters through e-mail lately. I’m not getting any response from them other than wanting money and form letters on how they are voting. They know I am pissed off and fighting mad and I am still averaging 10 or more issues each day that I send them e-mail notices on from the war, all the bills that go up, inviromental and everything coming down the pike. So far Cantwell is the only one here that has held the good line all the way. Murry’s good for the troops, but lately a big disapointment in other areas. I”m weary from fighting for over 5 year’s and getting few results. No response at all about my impeach Bush now… Oh well, maybe tomorrow they will arrest a bunch of these liers and thieves and it will wake up the Dem’s.They know they are loosing my vote and it doesn’t even get a response….Blessings
