  2. Alex says:

How about a contingency plan to fire the moron who let her in in the first place? :)

    Beware!

The next nominee will appear acceptable by comparison, but don’t be fooled!

  4. Mary Poppin says:

I think Bushie did this on purpose. He had this plan all the long. They are up to something. The next one will be worse.

  5. wisedup says:

Let’s see, how about Anita Hill?,or Ann Coulter,or Kathleen Harris? Lynn Cheney?…so many to pick from..

  6. Theresa says:

Miers can give Harris a run for her money on overuse of cosmetics. Sheesh.

  7. Sharon Cox says:

    You may be right Mary,

guess all of the crap Bush pulls untill he is out is just that, more crap, and more war’s. Sure would be nice to see him and his entire crew jailed for treason and war crimes before 2006. It would appear they are having some problems in the white house, but so far not enough to suit me. Bet he will try to put Janice Rogers Brown or one of those other extremest through if he doesn’t get Miers in. There’s been more fuss from the right about this nominee than from the left. Miers made the commitee mad about the question’s not being answered. Maybe she had Bush fill out her paper work, can he write.? Know he doesn’t read much..Ha Ha….Blessings

    Hen-like gabble alert.

This is the garbage I’m talking about. In that article are 2 very different stories. The WH used the media, and the media ate it up for it’s chatterfest. That goes for you, too, TP.

    Brian,

What are the two stories? I just read the article and only got one out of it.

I believe bush thought his “Political capital” would carry the day on his choice. Obvioulsy, he is under a lot of pressure from the far right to dump her for a more openly conservative candidate, who will not answer questions in an intelligent manner. What happens depends on how much weight the repub heavy hitters put on gwb. If the party leaders tell him they will not support her, then she will withdraw…. Look for someone who is younger and a relatively new appointment to the bench so there isn’t much of a paper trail.

  11. The Muse says:

OMG, the Washington Times is writing stories like this?

Yes, things are getting really tough in GOP-town.

  12. Marie says:

I have felt from the start that Miers is a red herring, because she is so wrong for the job — Bush couldn’t possibly be serious. If she happened to get in, he would be more than happy, but he really has someone/something more sinister in mind. I don’t think Bush is very intelligent, but he is political.

  13. Zookeeper says:

You’re probably right, Marie. Georgie will let Harriet fade away, and then he’ll bring in some raging nutcase who’s actually “qualified.”

  14. Zookeeper says:

AND if he’s doing this to a “dear old friend,” he’s being a real dick.

    Spudge,

I guess there aren’t 2 stories. Initially in the article there is presented a duel message by the WH. One official, one by aides. This is what I’m really tired of.
Tired of it all really. I want to see where the aide or the WH is asked to account for the inconsistancy. THAT’S the real story. Perhaps I’m wrong, or reading the wrong thing. I don’t know…

    Brian,

Okay, I can see what you’re saying now.

We are getting two sides of the same story from the same people.

It would be like if my boss told an editor a different story than what I tell the editor. It would make our company look stupid. Much the way this stuff makes Bush look stupid.

    Speaking of Bush:

Why is Laura always on top when George and her have sex?

  18. Brian says:

    Don’t know. Why?

  19. SpudgeBoy says:

Because Bush can only Fvck Up.

    :)

    Good one Spudge Boy!

    How about Rush Limbo?

Could any of you imagine a bigger, fatter head as part of the highest court in the land?
