Coulter: Ongoing Rove Investigation Would Be “Worst Possible Scenario” For White House

The White House is trying its best to appear positive today. President Bush appeared smiling and laughing before reporters this morning, while Karl Rove said he was in a “very good mood today. I’m going to have a very good day.”

The truth is that special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald’s expected announcement — that at least one White House official will be indicted, while Rove remains under investigation — is extremely bad news. This morning, even Bush loyalist Ann Coulter admitted that this is the “worst possible scenario” for the administration:

Watch in Quicktime

Transcript below:

O’BRIEN: So there you have it, Karl Rove apparently escaping indictment, but that’s the good news. The bad news is, on goes the investigation. What are your thoughts on that one?

COULTER: That is like the worse possible outcome.

O’BRIEN: Oh, an indictment would be better?

COULTER: I think so. I mean, I don’t think indictments are particularly big deal politically. They’re a big deal for whoever gets indicted, but I don’t think it really matters to the White House. I’ve just been thinking, this is going to be lancing the boil. Let’s just get it done one way or the other this Friday. Either they get indicted and they leave, or they’re not indicted and it’s over. To stay under investigation — that is not the best possible outcome.

  1. kindness says:

Even if Coulter supports something I think, I can’t think of using her to bolster my point.

She’s a trainwreck of a human being. She may not even be human. I could see her as the alien in any new remakes of that movie.

  2. m says:

seriously. how is she still employed?

  3. wisedup says:

I’m sorry but…who gives a poop what she says or thinks. Why is a dip like her doing on ANY show?????

  4. Zookeeper says:

Why is Miles talking to this witch? You like that? I deleted several words before I came up with witch. On the other hand, if she thinks all this is bad news, it must be good. I don’t even care that Rove might not be indicted today. It’s enough that the investigation will be ongoing. Merry Fitzmas!

  5. greg wirth says:

I agree with her, the threat of an ongoing investigation which would uncover other doings would be more a disastar than an indictment today.

wisedup, she’s a political pundit. that’s what she does.

  6. SeaChange says:

“I don’t think indictments are particularly big deal politically. They’re a big deal for whoever gets indicted, but I don’t think it really matters to the White House.”

Ms. Coulter, history and logic would suggest otherwise.

  7. thea2b says:

The noted transexual Anne Coulter once again gives me moments of entertainment! I love these spinmeisters trying to figure out how to play this..they all seem so depressed they are almost ready to admit the truth..lol..well not really

  8. Roundgoby says:

Is it possible that you never quote Ann Coulter again, regardless what she says? She deserves absolutely no attention from anyone!!

  9. Rotwang says:

I liked her a lot more back when she was still “Arnie” Coulter.

  10. CB says:

If you look closely, you can almost see the 666 on her forehead where the makeup is smeared.

  11. Sellitman says:

The only real good outcome would be if they were also indicting Coulter.

  12. Ohioan says:

Tom “Coingate” Noe indicted yesterday… The word “indicted” is becoming synonymous with “Republican” these days …

  13. Speed King says:

Rove is in a very good mood because he’s working on a deal to save his ass and rat out some other people instead. There is no honor among thieves.

  14. Andrew G. says:

Limblab predicts that Fitz will go after the whole justification for war, calls that scandal “wishful thinking.”

  15. Rick says:

Last night one one of the talk shows either Fox or MSNBC Her Heiness Make a statement that went unchallenged by the media. They were talking about Bush/Harriett and the Far RIGHT. and her statement was
Now “Bush knows were are the Power”
This woman needs to find her a man if that’s possible!!!

  16. Andrew G. says:

    #16

She is a man. Ever heard of Johns Hopikns?

  17. Matthew says:

Yes, but this quote by the space alien fascist Coulter shows what profound disarray the war criminals are in.

    Matthew

  18. jbos says:

Who’s worse; Coulter, O’Reilly, Rush or Hannity? Pundits are the cancer of media.

  19. Brian says:

I’ll be that man. She’s HOT when she’s sad.

  20. SeaChange says:

Coulter, Rush, Hannity, O’reilly – in that order.

  21. Tom3 says:

    Ann’s a MAN, baby!!

  22. Jeremy says:

You liberals only know how to complain and tear people down. You have no ideas thats why your the loser party.

  23. Jack Ballinger says:

As some right-wing idiots look on her as their Queen, having them hear her dispirited and stating that the Bushies have tough times ahead . . . well, I don’t believe it, but Ann Coulter just started Fitzukah off great for me.
(As the indictment process appears to be an ongoing one, Fitzukah [as in Chanukah, an 8 day celebration] seems more appropriate than Fitzmas [a one day affair.])

  24. Ben says:

Well Tom3 aren’t you gay? Maybe you could hook up with Ann?

  25. Skid says:

Yesterday she talked with Blitzer, now today she’s blabbing with Miles O’Brien. Is CNN trying to be more like Faux in substance now, as well as appearance (Situation Room graphics etc)?

  26. Ben says:

Did Coulter say “worse” or “worst”?

  27. JIMBO says:

Coulter looks like a failed audition for a Playboy Bunny. Hell, I’d even think that any Playboy Bunny might be smarter and have a higher IQ than that
    half/human half/ferengi cow like Coulter.

  28. jbos says:

#23. Your sentence should have read: “You have no idea (not ideas) that’s (i.e. that is) why you’re (not your) the loser party”.

  29. Brian says:

If lovin’ thay sexy adam’s apple man beast is wrong I don’t wanna be right.

  30. Ruined Nation says:

Coulter is still employed because blogs continue to parrot her tripe and bloggers continue to bloviate over her when they do. It brings comments (hits) so the blogs keep quoting her and quoting her and … The Raw Story wheels out some totally senseless Coulter story whenever they need to boost their hit counts. Blogs that even ack her are suspect in my book.

  31. JIMBO says:

Oh, and Jeremy, in reference to #23 , I guess that means you support hypocrisy, lying, cheating, murder and any crimes that the repucklicans committed to become the evil Empire.

  32. JIMBO says:

    I meant to say REPUKELICANS!

  33. lib says:

So only Libby gets indicted; look on the bright side- Ann Coulter isn’t happy!

    Did blogging die today?

  34. jbos says:

Is Libby walking on crutches because of an injury…or for sympathy?

  35. joanne says:

the house of shame is crumbling…they’re all goin’ down….. I think Rove under invenstigation is a great thing as a lead-into the impeachment of the ral axis of evil…Bush Cheney and Rumsfeld.

  36. JIMBO says:

Don’t Worry, Karl Rove will get his indictment soon. If not this week, then next week. I hope he watched HBO’s Oz. If not he should be prepared. All I can say is he better keep that bar of soap in his hands
if he’s even in that prison shower. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!

  37. Dumb Fox says:

#35 – Metaphorical I think… Ever heard about the one-legged man in the ass-kicking contest?

  38. Eric Jaffa says:

You should include full names in your post instead of just writing “O’Brien.”

  39. Randy says:

Has Joe Wilson ever been in front of the grand jury? I would like to know that they are not just taking his word for everything he claims.

  40. Randy says:

Has Valerie Plame ever been in front of the grand jury? I would want to know if she did everything in her power to conceal her identity. We know that she did a piss poor job of that.

  41. Ben says:

I think JIMBO likes those male on male rape stories. Don’t you JIMBO? Have any personal experiences you would like to share? Sounds like you’ve been there, done that.

  42. jbos says:

Ah…#38 hit the nail on the head. Interesting. A man without a country.

  43. jparker says:

    Poor Randy -

Still trying to pin the blame anywhere else. Just remember- Fitz was appointed by W. himself.

  44. why? says:

why does CNN give this evil, nazi woman airtime? i understand Fox letting her on, but CNN too? disgraceful.

  45. JIMBO says:

    Randy,

Plame could still be in danger for having being illegally outed as a CIA agent and you want to defend a bunch of Armani suited assholes who have a political agenda to take out their frustrations on someone who was trying to help protect this country. What Scooter did was beyond a piss poor job, it was CRIMINAL. And that’s what the White House contains, CRIMINALS, DRUG ADDICTS AND ALCOHOLICS!

  46. sneakypie says:

To #35. He’s limping because he didn’t die when cheney pushed him out of the limo on the way to the office last week.

  47. GRUMPY OLD MAN says:

Why do people watch that cow? Easy. You need a laugh once in a while and there ain’t one hell of a lot of them around Washington lately.

  48. jparker says:

And given the fact that just about everyone from both sides of the aisle agree that Fitz has no agenda (other than a few Ultra rightwing sprayers), the fact that an indictment has been issued to someone in our highest levels of government is a sad day for America. So much for “bringing integrity back to the White House”.

You should be ashamed of yourself, Randy

  49. Clayton Counts says:

For those of you who insist on calling Ann Coulter a “pundit,” I would only ask that in the future you refrain from using the word altogether. It can mean “critic,” or otherwise “a source of opinion.” Neither description is suitable for Coulter… she is an attack dog with a pedigree of utter shamelessness. They are all, pardon the generalization, very much alike: O’Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, or any of their disspiriting and unfortunate ilk. Incidentally, another definition of the word is: “a person of measured intelligence.”

  50. JIMBO says:

Randy, sorry I don’t have those stories to share with you for the fact that I’ve never had that kind of experience that you probably shared with a few Repukelicans.

So go back into your bedroom, little Randy and cry yourself to sleep.

  51. JIMBO says:

Randy, forget what I said. I actually meant to say it to Ben. Since Ben is a little gimp himself.

  52. Ben says:

JIMBO take that thing out of your mouth and maybe you can focus on what your talking about, okay?

  53. JIMBO says:

Actually, the word Pundit means “A lazy well-dressed asshole who sts in a air conditioned studio and gets paid to say nothing but a bunch of garbage.”

Oh, and Ben, I have a message on #52 which is for you and not for Randy. Please read it and go cry to your mommy.

  54. joanne says:

I have a comment for #23… that argument is getting really old. You should do some soul searching, and ask yourself how this ultra-right wing, neo-con agenda is helping YOU….just by saying the words “family values” and “Morality” doesn’t cut it. You have to talk the talk and walk the walk. We are for the WORKING CLASS family values, and the MORALITY of fair wages, healthcare, benefits, a pension plan, and a cancer free-chemical free environment. How is that bad?? Are you an upperclass snob who only cares about yourself and your money, or are you part of the growing disillusioned conservatives who are starting to wake up and know that they were the chickens, voting for Colonel Sanders in the last election. If things don’t change, you’re going to find yourself with a family and trying to get by on $8.00 an hour, with no healtcare, no benefits, no civil rights, no clean air, and no leverage to fight this imperial hubris.
This mind set of ‘you’ll be christian or else’, ‘you’re on your own’, ‘it’s all about the market’, ‘no safety net’, ‘if you’re not succesful in the country than you deserve what you get’…YAH, real moral values…full of character and integrity…is that taken straight from the bible??? You better wake up and smell the coffee, or you’re going to be sorry. This is a scam by the hard right and you’re buying their selfish, greedy garbage. I wish I had swapland to sell you!
Perfect example, they’re cutting student loans, healthcare, etc etc for the middle and poor class in the amount of $50 billion,….and cutting taxes for the richest 6%…in the amount of $40 billion…tell me how that makes sense to you…. please respond with concrete answers. I’d really like to hear them.

  55. JIMBO says:

Ben, I have a tic tac in my mouth and typing this while listening to Mr. Al Franken on Air America.

Keep your childhood fantasies to yourself.

  56. Ben says:

So JIMBO, how long have you been picked on? MOst of your life? That’s usually the case for guys like yourself that enjoy watching prison movies. Now go cry to your boyfriend.

  57. WC says:

    #59

Oh damn. Now Bush can’t fire him. Whine whine whine, bitch bitch bitch. Watch me while I throw a tantrum! It’s all Fitz’s fault. What a waste the last 2 years have been! Damn liberals!

(That is what you wanted to hear, wasn’t it, Neddie?)

  58. jesusina, daughter of god says:

f#40, what has Joe Wilson done? HE tried to tell the truth and somebody beat up his wife for it. this is about the war and Joe Wilson trying to prevent it. Does national sovereignity mean anything anymore? ifthe USA decides your country needs a regime change, then big bro usa will just come on over and destroy your infrastructure with bombs, maim and murder your citizens, put our own government in place and if you dont like it you can just shut up. What if someone tried to do that to us? We definately need a regime change.

  59. JIMBO says:

    Ryan,

I was listening to an excellent NPR show called “Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me.” It’s a political/pop culture quiz show in which you have to have the right amount of answers to get a message on your answering machine by Carl Kasel. Any way there was one game in which one of these stories was true. One of them involved Karl Rove’s motivation for being the asshole that he is.

When he was nine, he was riding a bike with a sticker supporting Nixon back in 1960. He encountered another nine-year old who was a Kennedy supporter. Rove got his ass kicked by the Kennedy supporter. By the way, the Kennedy supporter was a GIRL! When one of the callers guessed a different answer, the host said that
it was wrong that that the Karl Rove incident was true. The contestant said the fact that it was true helped to soften the blow:)

Karl Rove got his assed kicked by a GIRL. Can you imagine if he was in a room with no windows and the only other person there was Valerie Plume? I’d pay good money to see that moment.

  60. shieldvulf says:

Andrew Coulter is the best mole the international hackeysack/polyamory/vegan cabal has ever placed in the wingnut trenches. A year from now, when he comes out as a crossdressing classical fascist, sporting that adorable peroxide Hitler moustache he first grew for Burning Man, and incessantly, shrilly supporting every nickel and dime Repugnant on every ballot, advocating summary execution of his detractors and those cheeky free clinic doctors, all of our hard work will pay off in the great train wreck of the corporatist claque. Thank you, Andrew, for your sacrifice. I look forward to a spirited slap hack when you return to the fold. I’ll bring the mushrooms.

  61. NANCY says:

I think Scooter got so pissed off when he found out that Turd Blossom had ratted him out he kicked something really hard and that’s how he broke his foot.

  62. WC says:

    #66

Either that, or Rove, Libby, and Cheney were standing around the other day and Libby said “Well, I heard that Bush outed Plame” and then Cheney stomped his foot to get him to shut up.

  63. JIMBO says:

    Ben,
I guess that means you support a criminal who got his 9 year old butt creamed by a girl.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  64. Ben says:

It’s okay JIMBO. You seem to have a fascination with male victimization. You probably have been a victim or the subject of persecution for being a little on the wimpy side for most of your life. So your behavior is certainly understandable. You keep listening to Air America (while you can). That thing is so dead and you are so stupid. Why do you think it’s going down? Because no one is listening but losers.

  65. Brad says:

Just now on CNN: Libby one of the main architects of the “Iraq Adventure”??
Adventure? OK, I’m being picky here, with all the other crap floating around but isn’t that taking euphemism to a whole new level?

  66. peephlap says:

Like her or not, Ann she hit the nail on head as the investigation is ongoing and could potentially burn down the entire administration, if not the entire system if it gets to the bottom of the WMD-Iraq hoax, the 9-11 hoax, etc. Besides if you close your ears, she is kinda hot!

  67. peephlap says:

Forgery-gate? Weapons-gate? Leak-gate? War-gate? Niger-gate? I sure hope Fitzgerald can lift the veil off our comatozed (sp?) heads.

  68. turk fowler says:

I LOVE ANN COULTER! She makes fun of the obvious tail-chasing,navel-gazing of lefties and has fun at the same time. THAT’S entertainment! Ann Rocks!

  69. peephlap says:

Left-Right paradigm is artificial nonsense. You either like to be whipped in servitude, or not. The best slaves are the ones who believe they are free. Liberty 4 all. Peace out.

  70. KGB says:

#1 Ann Coulter is listened to because about half the activists in the country tend to agree with what she says. The other half of the activists in the country tend to have equally myopic and derogatory viewpoints that mirror her closed mindedness with a different ideology.

#2 CNN is giving her air time because you don’t present truly balanced news by censoring people – even those with views some find annoying or repugnant. If CNN only presented commentators that agreed with bloggers on this site, they would be the equal but opposite evil of Fox.

#3 Her assessment is probably one of the most cohesive I’ve ever heard from the woman (she bugs me so I don’t listen to her much). Comment #6 is correct: indictments are not a good thing for any administration. At least with indictments and resolution the extent of the damage would be known and the process of repair could begin. An ongoing investigation of some staff members while serious charges are being prosecuted against others will leave everyone in the White House being viewed through the lens of Libby’s indictments until the rest of the staff is either charged or cleared.

#4 The problem isn’t republicans, the problem is the particular republicans that have taken over the party. Many of the ideals regarding civil rights and conservation that the democrats hold dear began within the Republican Party. Maybe we should start to reach out to republicans and show them how the democrats now better support their core values rather than call them all moronic assholes who should be buried under the courthouse. There are millions of mainstream republicans who really disagree with Bush – do you actually believe they would join a community that expends so much energy insulting and degrading them? When you call Ms. Coulter a transsexual instead of addressing her as a person, Karl Rove wins.

#5 How many 10th graders are posting here? The intellectual level of 80% of the statements is a true embarrassment.

#6 I don’t give a damn what she believes, she is by far the HOTTEST political operative on TV currently – Period. Of course there really aren’t any others who are even remotely hot, so she’s sort of winner by default.

  71. Joe says:

Jimbo – Coulter a Ferengi Cow! You get the award for clever insult for the day!
    HAHAHAHAHA~!
As for all the homophobic insults being hurled back and forth, they really are pretty juvenile, guys, and reflect much more on your own lack of creativity than your moral or intellectual superiority.

The fact is that the Republicans have all the power and that they have brought these indictments and public shame on themselves through their own hubris. We can only hope that they will be so discredited that no Christo-fascist will get reelected for anything for at least a generation.

  72. A Hermit says:

I can’t bring myself to watch that stupid airhead. Did she really like sound like a like valley girl like the transcript like reads? Toootally….

  73. joanne says:

#72..IT’S NOT LEAKGATE..IT’S TRAITORGATE. THE “LIBERAL MEDIA” JUST WON’T USE THAT TERM.

  74. peephlap says:

American democracy: which flavor of corruption will you vote for next. Of course it is not a Republican problem. And of course the Democrats are just as shady (perhaps even more covertly)(Remember Kosovo? Waco?). Burn your ballot. You don’t need their representation. Kick-out the money-changers and simply BE.

  75. peephlap says:

#78 Traitor-gate works for me. Restore the constitution! Remove all the slime – every last bit.

  76. mighty aphrodite says:

#19 – “Who’s worse; Coulter, O’Reilly, Rush or Hannity? Pundits are the cancer of media.” – jbos
***Excuse jbos, he/she forgot to add Ellen Ratner, Bill Schneider,Eleanor Clift, Dan Blather, David Korn, “progressive” whiny FAIR, etc, etc, etc, – I know jbos hates all pundits!!

“…ultra-right wing, neo-con agenda is helping YOU….just by saying the words “family values” and “Morality” doesn’t cut it. You have to talk the talk and walk the walk. Are you an upperclass snob who only cares about yourself and your money, or are you part of the growing disillusioned conservatives… blah, blah ,blah” – joanne

***Joanne, thank you for wanting EVERYONE to be EQUALLY miserable!!! I appreciate your “generous and heartfelt” thought but most people don’t need another “nanny” or set of parents (i.e. government) doing all their thinking and decision making for them. Maybe libs do….

  77. chey says:

The fact that the media at large continues to give Coulter a platform should be proof positive that the “The Media” is neither liberal nor elite-just incompetent.

  78. texaslib says:

When Coulter describes something as a “worst case scenario”, my response is “Bring it on!”

  79. peephlap says:

Here, here #82 …but it supposed to be that way

  80. MIKE says:

the scum was also on CNN today and said: I never heard of Libby before 2 days ago.

    Sure.

  81. peephlap says:

Texaslib…i guess your not from 14th District of Texas now are ya?

  82. Tippersnore says:

The Fabulous C. is not fooling anyone. An ongoing indictment will give her many more appearances on Fox and CNN, so we can all hear from her “great political mind.”

  83. T.J. says:

    Why the LONG face Ann?

  84. mr. fireplaces says:

I have to disagree. This is a big loss for us. Average Americans don’t know who the hell Libby is.

  85. JayKay says:

RE: #85, yes, Ms. Coulter stated the same thing on the Today Show (I know, wtf was she doing on the Today Show?) and I thought the same thing. I myself have known of the Man Named Scooter for years and she just heard of him 2 days ago? And she’s paid to be the pundit? Something ain’t right.

  86. mike says:

funny, coulter mentioning a lanced boil – eveytime i see her i think of oozing puss

  87. underdog says:

I kinda like the “boil” analogy.

  88. joanne says:

#81,…no, I’m a realist. That’s what’s happening to this country. Why can’t you see what’s going on?? I’m angry that in 5 short years this country is unrecognizable. You’re either one of the chickens, or one of the colonels….. Have you ever thought through what will happen to this country if it continues down this path? your last sentence of “not needing the government do your thinking for you” is exactly what we’re fighting for. That’s what these neo-cons WANT to do, is take over our rights. When you have no more judicial rights, decent living wages, real freedoms.. that’s them doing the thinking and the rest of having absolutely no say about it. I really don’t understand how you rationalize this ideology. Please try to articulate…

  89. dan says:

    1. So Libby’s the fall guy. Not good enough. It won’t be very useful unless other indictments of virtually anonymous White House staffers are made.

    2. Republicans think “the gov’t tells liberals what to think” because Republicans are ignorant of political science. Liberals don’t hate government, we use it as the social tool it was invented to be. An effective, responsive government secures the liberties and general welfare of the public. Republicans support the imbalance that corporations and wealth impose on the public, so they view the government as “the enemy.” Which makes sense for rich folks and CEOs. But when working class people cast votes that cut their own throats…well, that just shows how damn dumb they are.

    3. Coulter who? I thought that was Roller Girl from Boogie Nights. Oh wait, THAT bimbo actually had brains… my bad.

  90. mighty aphrodite says:

Joanne – Like you – I see what’s going on – I suppose we just come from different perspectives. I find when the gov’t gets involved with MANY (note I did not say ALL) domestic issues – they generally find an overpriced, underworked bureaucrat to screw it up – (i.e. can you spell FEMA?) I served in the military, as did my husband, Mr. Aphrodite – so while I was no colonel, I’m no chickenhawk. From my reading (Holy War, Inc. etc.) I find most libs don’t have a clue what is going on with radical Islamofascists. “Let’s try not to p*&$ them off any more – maybe they won’t attack us” That’s like pleading with Attila not to sack the town – ignorant and naive. Me?? I want radical Muslim jihadists DEAD! And until progressive liberals put the security of our country FIRST – you can keep kissing elections good-bye!!

  91. JIMBO says:

Ann(The Neo-Nazi Cow)Coulter is probably in her bunker
crying in her pillow thinking that her days of irrevalence is coming to an end and that for her, God forbid, truth and justice will actually exist.

Dubya just went on vacation, AGAIN! Wow! Must be all that hard work he does. Scootie has just be disgraced and Dubya goes on vacation. I’m pretty sure Lincoln didn’t go on vacation that much during his term.

  92. Alan says:

She’s evidently gotten dumber after she was bounced from Imus in the Morning on radio and MSNBC.

  93. Mark says:

Nobody seems to realize that the whole Plame affair was enough to get dubya re-elected….thats all. All the indictments were worth it to that end for them. I won’t be happy till the whole crowd is cleared out and replaced by good guys.

  94. Dumbya says:

Even THIS loud Cvnt knows just what sort of criminal depth the administration is in.

  95. K says:

Thank you #81 for proving by your example that there are people who need help with thinking.

  96. Reid says:

MA – if you want the radical Islamofacists defeated, or at least marginalized, you’d better get on the bandwagon to dump the current admin. Remember, Bush didn’t think enough of the threat to take summer 2001 reports seriously (I do sympathize with him though, several were over two pages long and would have reqired him to read them himself) and the neocon crowd had already moved on to (unbelivably) Iraq. Then, crappy execution of the Afghan and Iraq “adventures” creates more jihadists than it kills, and by a very scary multiplier.

And those are just the highlights. When are you going to realize that this crowd just uses the Christian right and terror scenarios to drive their real agenda -financial gain for themsleves and those willing to fund their electoral and corporate efforts. That’s the whole story. . .period!

  97. Dave says:

One White House criminal down hundreds to go. They already have another criminal doing Libbys job. The worst case for Libby will be that he will have to spend the next year and a half in a prison with only nine holes and live music in the nite club only on weekends. Bush will then, at the end of his term, give Scooter a full presidential pardon and retirement with full pay for the rest of his life. In the mean time we have a president who lied to start a war without provocation. Committed murder, genocide, kidnapping, torture, and crimes against humanity. Now, are we going to start WWIII when the world court comes to get these bad boys as it has to do to maintain any credibility in the world? I wonder if Bush and Cheny are really working for Al Kaida.

  98. joanne says:

if you wanted Muslim jihadists dead, maybe TWO AND A HALF YEARS AGO, we should have “smoked out” OSAMA BIN LADEN out of AFGANISTAN… umh… George, TWO COUNTRIES TO THE RIGHT OF IRAQ. Then we could have gotten him ‘dead or alive’, and used our imperial hubris to make an example out of him to the rest of the extreme jihadists. But to not connect the dots and aknowledge the EVIDENCE of this LIE that Iraq is tied to 9/11…who’s ignorant and naive.

Before 9/11 there were no AlQaeda in Iraq…have you seen the phots of Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam when we were friends with him, selling him arms IN ‘88 for the iraq – iran war….this war is about PROFITS AND OIL. WAR PROFITEERING IN THENAME OF 2000 OF OUR SOLDIERS AND 150 THOUSAND INNOCENT IRAQ WOMAN AND CHILDREN.. INNOCENT CIVILIANS. ANN COULTER JUST SAYS ‘WAR IS HELL” PEOPLE GET KILLED IN TIME OF WAR” IT DOESN’T GET ANYMORE DISGUSTING THAN THAT.

IF we put every service man and women in Afganistan and carpet bombed the mountains, AND WON THE WAR AGAINST WHO ATTACKED OUR COUNTRY, THE extrements of AlQaeda and the Talliban -then I would be cheering the loudest for George Bush. But that didn’t happen did it… his greed far exceeded his ego.

8 BILLION MISSING, HALLIBURTON AND OIL CO’S MAKING RECORD PROFITS. Yeah, it’s all about saddam, family values and morality. How can you say that with a striaght face???

  99. joanne says:

#101 – how do you justify your rationale. please explain.

  100. Ben says:

Uh, Joanne, why don’t you ask the Russians what happens when you try and smoke out the enemy in the mountains of Afghanistan. They wound up with 100,000 dead. They were fish in a barrel. But of course you’re an expert and you could have shown them how to do it.

  101. ARE says:

#75 – I’m surprised there were no responses to your comments… By far one of the most thoughtful postings I’ve read in a while. I think both “teams” are suffering from a bad case of groupthink, with constant re-inforcement of bad ideas and poor logic. And both sides are so indoctrinated, there’s no longer any such thing as constructive criticism. You’re either all right or all wrong and anyone who dares to ask why is tarred as stupid, mean, evil etc.

Anyway Big Up bro… to all the haters on here, keep on hating and see where that gets you.

    Peace

  102. Lumpy says:

Maybe we should lay off attacking Ann Coulter for her appearance, and stick to criticizing her terrible political positions.

I felt the same way, back when people used to rip into Janet Reno. Stick to politics, unless you want to attack the male politicians and pundits for their terrible appearances too.

  103. Lumpy says:

I should add that I do agree, that Ann Coulter wouldn’t have a career in the media unless she was a leggy blonde. And the only reason that the Right Wing public pays attention to her is because they are attracted to her.

And since many of Ann Coulter’s fans are often homophobes, I guess it’s fun to take jabs at their homophobia by pointing out her masculinity.

  104. Ben says:

Ryan that is a perfect example of why you are a jerk. Joanne makes the statement that we should have smoked OBL out. Then you come in a make statements about a superior military. Guess what, they still have the stingers and they still would inflict heavy casualties if we fell for their strategy by chasing them into the mountains.

You keep up with your name calling because like I have said many times. You are just a young punk that does not have the maturity nor common sense to see the bigger picture. You write out these lengthy explanations and responses and claim them as truth even though they come from liberal sources that have your same agenda. Which is a coward’s way of dealing with a bully. That does not make them the truth.

When it comes to this war you are simply too stupid to realize that there is much the public does not know about the level of danger that exists. For the general public to claim that they do is a joke in itself. Your boy Clinton had terrorists attacks and did nothing and of course they didn’t and have not stopped. They have not stopped for anyone. Again your ignorance lies in your inability to see that the real threat is to the US economy. What happens if we start getting the type of bombings that occur on regular basis in other places? Wonder how many people might decide to stay home rather than go to the nightclub or restaurant or ballgame.

Why don’t you explain your plan for success after 9/11. I don’t want to hear your pussy approach like getting other nations to go along. Apparently they get their bread buttered from the terrorists themselves. The reason why Bush was reelected is because people felt it was time to fight back. You are too stupid not to see that the US government had to come up with an excuse to get troops in theater. They could not just announce that we were going to go the Middle East, meet us there and let’s get it on. Hence the UN sanction violations, WMD’s etc. They were the excuse to get it started. This is about protecting our way of life. You need to wise up. Think a little further down the road and not what just what is staring you in the face. The US government is not stupid Ryan. They obviously were concerned about something bigger that Saddam breaking the rules.

  105. Ryan Neat says:

“Ryan that is a perfect example of why you are a jerk.”

Name calling – and who’s the punk? That would be you.

“Joanne makes the statement that we should have smoked OBL out. Then you come in a make statements about a superior military. Guess what, they still have the stingers and they still would inflict heavy casualties if we fell for their strategy by chasing them into the mountains.”

Most of the stingers were either used, or are so old they’re barely able to function. Not to mention that our more modern aircraft (especially stealth) are not vulnerable to them.

All you’ve shown is your ignorance here, you’ve proven nothing but that. The reason we didn’t focus on Afghanistan, is because it doesn’t have enough economic strategic value for us. Osama is not a priority, because he wasn’t sitting on oil.

“You keep up with your name calling because like I have said many times. You are just a young punk that does not have the maturity nor common sense to see the bigger picture. ”

Hehe, how funny. So I’m name calling, and you say I’m a punk and immature. Your hypocrisy is really amusing, and very pathetic – just like your arguments.

“You write out these lengthy explanations and responses and claim them as truth even though they come from liberal sources that have your same agenda. Which is a coward’s way of dealing with a bully. That does not make them the truth. ”

Liberal sources? Oh, you mean like the ones I post from the government, or WAPO, or NYTimes. Yeah, none of those sites can be trusted, lets all just rely on faux that former reporters say intentionally lies…

    You’re an idiot.

“Again your ignorance lies in your inability to see that the real threat is to the US economy. ”

I have a degree in economics – this administration is the biggest thread to the US economy!

“For the general public to claim that they do is a joke in itself. Your boy Clinton had terrorists attacks and did nothing and of course they didn’t and have not stopped. They have not stopped for anyone.”

That’s a lie. Not only did Clinton attack afghanistan, he even proposed fully attacking them to root out osama – and was told that republicans would not grant a declaration of war needed. Once again, the REPUBLICANS failed america. Not to mention, that at home not only did Clinton appoint a czar for terrorism (remember clarke), but they successfully stopped the 2000 bomber – or did you forget that ‘non action that you say clinton didn’t do’. MORON!

“Why don’t you explain your plan for success after 9/11. I don’t want to hear your pussy approach like getting other nations to go along.”

Another name calling – you must really hate yourself right now for doing the ‘evil’ thing you claim I do. Like a typical republican, you’re a fool and a hypocrite.

How about do what Clinton did to catch the millenium bomber just 21 months earlier. When you get a memo that says there’s gonna be an attack, you send out a priority alert to all related law enforcement. This is what caught the previous attack – and frankly if Bush had done it, there’s a very likely chance he would have caught this one.

Also, I had no problem with Clinton or Bush going into Afghanistan as hard as you might find that to believe. I’m generally a pascifist – but I do see peace keeping, and liberation by the FULL INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY as something that’s legitimate. I would prefer it if we could use non-lethal weapons and other methods, before I would not have the reservations that I do – but I do actually condone this action. What I don’t condone is the utter mismanagement that the bush admin did in afghanistan. Violence is back. Many of the former taliban leaders are now in the government. Voter participation is down. Opium is higher now than before the taliban took over (it was one of the few things they actually did control).

See the problem is that republicans are just bad administrators, bad planners, and bad international politicians. It’s been historically true, and the fumbles of republicans are profound and historic. This is just a new set of them.

  106. Ryan Neat says:

  108. Ringo says:

Here’s a plan for success after 9/11: Rather than send our soldiers to a country that had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11, rather than even send these same soldiers on a fruitless mission to Afghanistan to “hunt down” Osama Bin Laden, why not have put those same soldiers to use here in the United States, where they could truly serve their country with pride and out of harm’s way, by protecting our borders, our airports, our ports, our nuclear power plants, our chemical plants, our transportation systems, etc? Why not take that big wad of money that Bush threw Halliburton’s way and use that cash to bring our airports state-of-the-art equipment that but a few airports can afford? Why not use that money to make sure security at all the aforementioned locations are the best of the best? Why not create American jobs with that money building this security? Why not take that money that Halliburton is rolling in now and use it to not only protect our shores and our borders, but also to protect our environment? Why not? Any of you Bush-lovers here got some smart-ass response as to why it was better to kill our soldiers and the people of Iraq because of Bush’s lies instead of turn around and invest that money in our country? Why wasn’t that money spent to rebuild the levies in Louisiana? Why wasn’t that money and our armed forces readily available to help out our hurricane battered gulf coast? Why aren’t our soldiers here, safe on our shores, keeping us safer? Why has the f—ing world gone mad? There is only one direction to point the finger, and that finger should be squarely pointed at George W. Bush. There were millions of options available to us and billions of dollars that would have made this country safer, but he chose the “Texan” “kick-ass” “bring it on” way to go. And all that can be said is way to go, George, way to go.

Ann Coulter is Satan’s hoooooorer. She has the ability to morph into a minion at the first cast of a full moon in months ending in “er”. She likes to feast on the blood of baby kittens and wears puppie dog fur coats out to a sunday brunch at a PETA fundraiser. I hate her and wish she’d go back into the whole of hippocratic, talk-out-of-your-ass-dom that she was expelled from. She’s like a fart from a Wookie. Hoooooooooorer.

  114. Ringo says:

Why does anyone give a flying-fig what Ann Coulter thinks anyway? She’s just a big-mouth, publicity whore, no better and no smarter than Paris Hilton, but without a doubt, cut from the same cloth. Her comments should be given no more weight than any intelligent person would give to Paris Hilton’s thoughts on the world. Here’s an idea: Let’s all just ignore anything Ann Coulter says from here on out, and guess what, she’ll crawl back into the cesspool she came from and never be heard from again.

  115. Ben says:

Ryan, so you make your argument about Afghanistan on the availability and quality of stingers. What a joke. You don’t know what they have. What we do know is that when they go into the mountains and into the caves they reduce our advantage. Glad you are not the running the military. Why don’t you come up with some bs source for your knowledge of weapons. You just throw it out there. You don’t know. We know the Russians got their asses killed trying to fight on their terms. The superior planes in that region is total bs on your part to boot. Many a military expert has commented on the limitations of our planes in that type of terrain. Again, you avoided the response to Joanne. Apparently she thinks OBL was a high value.

Ryan, the NYT is liberal. Again you just throw it out there. Lying like it’s second nature.

Our intelligence people were receiving millions of pieces of intelligence every month. Not enough resources for that volume. Clinton had the ball for 8 years. We were attcked many times. What did he do about the 93 WTC bombing? What the hell was Sandy Berger doing stuffing classified documents down his pants? What is your BS answer for that?

Violence and Opium increases? Yeah that’s called fighting back. That’s called your money being seized. That’s called losing.

Saddam had been breaking the rules for some time. No 9/11 and there would be no Iraq. This was not about Saddam. Not about WMD’s. Not about oil. This was about a threat to the future of the US economy. The US sells entertainment. It’s our play that world buys. If we can’t produce it we are sunk. Blowing up our people on US soil cannot be tolerated ever. That is the point. Again that is why Bush was reelected. The American public does not care about fighting by any rules. They had no confidence in the UN and with good reason. Bush was reelected to go and end the threat that bombings and chemical threats would stop.

People did not vote for Bush because of economics or intelligence or charm. They voted because they wanted to continue the policy of killing terrorists. Taking the fight to those in the region. Americans think they hate us and think they mean us harm. That is what they think. Right or wrong.

I say that Iraq was going to happen because it offered the best excuse to put troops in theater and execute that plan. You say it was for oil. There is no way we were that wrong on WMD intelligence. But I am not so stupid as to not see that the US government could not just say that we were coming to find those that wish us harm. I believed the government had to lie to make it happen. I don’t think it matters who was in office. The same options would have been on the table. And the same logic would have been applied for going to war. Who do you think comes up with this stuff? Bush and his people? No way. It is the US government that advises the administration as to the best course of action. I know you are smart enough to see that one.

One can argue fumbles by all peoples of all times. It does not have a bias or prejudice. You can try talking about peace and that is fine. The bad guys never want it. You have to fight to eliminate those who are incapable of being tolerant of others. That’s just the hard cold truth. Try considering other points of view. It’s easy to argue the present much more hard to see the future.

  116. Ryan Neat says:

    “Ryan, the NYT is liberal.”

How do you explain judith miller.

You’re incapable of rational thought, and that’s the hard cold truth. You’re just another partisan idiot who accuses others of partisanship while only being capable of practicing it yourself. You’re a hypicrite, a fool, and a traitor to all values that are good, decent and american.

  117. David says:

#75- You had me until the last one. Personally, all politics aside, I think she looks kinda freaky, and not in a good way. But that is just me, and otherwise it was a very good analysis of the dung tossing that does seem to be pervasive around here.

#112- The mission in Afghanistan was left unfinished, plain and simple. This is one reason why Bush does not seem trustworthy. All the rhetoric after Sep. 11, 2001, seems like so much used toilet paper, and has about the same value, at this point. $200 BILLION dollars into the Iraq quagmire does not seem like a logical or even sane response to the attacks by Al Qaeda, but it sure might have gone a long way to securing our ports, nuclear facilities, chemical plants, and other potential targets. Now, how exactly is the Bush administration making us safer? I certainly see nothing to substantiate that line of thinking.

  118. Ryan Neat says:

“What did he do about the 93 WTC bombing? ”

    He put people in jail.

    “Violence and Opium increases? ”

    Yeah, that’s called american failures.

    You’re such a dufus.

  119. Ryan Neat says:

We weren’t, bush was. As this case has shown, he was cooking the books. And stupid fools like you enable those kinds of tragic failures. STUPID PARTISAN FOOL!

Can the peanut gallery please also get over calling the shots from their armchairs. Please explain how ANYONE feels even remotely safer today because of what Bush has done. Anyone?

  122. Ben says:

Ryan, there is no hope for you.

You will always be a short sighted pussball. You are everything that real Americans despise. Just a candyass that can’t think past his nose. America has not found her greatness by having pussies like yourself proclaiming understanding while they’re being attacked. We have always understood that evil has to be defeated by whatever it takes. You will just have to keep on complaining because republicans are in power and as long as we are threatened by harm at the hands of others they will stay in power. The country just does not trust the likes of the last two democratic candyasses to do their fighting.

Maybe you should consider moving to France. They like your type.

  123. Ben says:

Ringo, go do another bong hit bud. Break out your conspiracy magazine and tell all your favorite bloggers how the election was a fraud. Keep doing that. That a great thing to talk about. Do it often.

  124. David says:

    #123- Where to begin…

First off, Al Qaeda is not Iraq. Why is it that every defense of the Iraq quagmire requires the obligatory, and ubiquitous, reference to Sep. 11, 2001? If anything, I would think that would be almost an admission that OBL never really mattered, and that all he and his organization were was an excuse to invade Iraq, which the Neocon cabal have been planning and advocating for well over a decade.

You say, “[t]here is no way we were that wrong on WMD intelligence,” and follow it up with what appears to be an admission that the government lied to get the Neocons war going. Well, some people in government weren’t wrong and didn’t lie, they were just ignored, or worse.

Whatever happened to the Republican party that didn’t tolerate dishonesty from government? Oh, that’s right, it’s only when they are the minority party. My bad.

  125. Curtis says:

hey ben…send your kids to fight, w had the chance to swoop down out of the blue and provide cover for my democratic ass, but was too busy licking dick in the great state of alabama.
oh! I failed to remember it’s just the gop that mounts a battle field.
I can tell by your post that the monkey was the first one up the steps.

  126. Ben says:

    Hey David, legitimate question.

Okay imagine what took place after 9/11. The first thing our government wants to know is how, why and will it happen again. If it will what should we do. Let’s say that they say that we can try global isolation of those countries that sponser or contribute to the problem via the UN. Of course we should go after the Saudis but they presently provide 24% of our oil and right now that may not be a wise move. Further our government says that there is no way to know for sure or says we have information that subsequent events may be already in place. How do you stop it, how do you get the intelligence?

What if your CIA, FBI, DOJ, DOD or whoever says that the best option for security is to get troops in theater? How do you do that when the world will not support you? When they have been taking bribes by the people that you are trying to squeeze? What if the President is advised by the very best minds that we must proceed with war? How do you make that happen? Do you just say listen we’re going to come over there and start taking on those that support and finance harm to the US? Who would have gone along with that? So the government advises to proceed with the WMD bs as the entry excuse. Further what would happen if those same enemies came to the fight instead of having to being tracked down like gorilla warfare but on a global level? That might be pretty smart and effective. I don’t believe for one minute that the US government did not have a bigger picture plan. Unfortunately this was the only way to execute it.

I think it’s pretty lame that people will not even consider that some things are done that we will not or ever will be allowed to know.

  127. Ringo says:

Ben, get into an anger management program. You’re boring. While your at it, kiss it. Better yet, kiss Ann Coulter.

  128. Ben says:

Curtis I really can’t help that you’re that stupid. My brother went and I missed going by less than a year. If you were honest about it then you would say everyone was trying not to go. Including Kerry who used 4 deferrments. Why didn’t he go right away? No wanted to go and everyone was using whatever influence they had. Don’t pick and choose. I don’t remember being attacked then. Might have had something to do with it’s unpopularity. By the way who escalated that war? Oh yeah, Johnson, a democrat.

  133. Ben says:

Actually Ringo that is the right kind of plan going forward. However it may have been that the time frame to make that happen did not address the possibility of an immediate threat. The public does not know the information that the US government was looking at the time.

Ringo, it’s not psychotic to logically consider that there may have been a much bigger problem than what Americans could be told. Sharing such information may have told more about ourselves than we cared to share with our enemies.

Tell me how that does not meet a standard of realistic possibilities. What part is not possible?

Yeah, so’s giving the oil industry huge breaks, and not doing crap for alternative fuels. With the money you spent in Iraq, you probably could have funded enough alternative fuels to drive the prices down to the point where we wouldn’t need oil. Volume in solar, wind, etc. has an immediate and direct affect on price. The people who always make jackass and shortsighted moves are republicans – because they’re stupid and cronyistic to the core.

Okay Ringo. I toss them back when they get tossed at me.

But I answer your #116 without any comments since you avoided using them yourself. Kind of strange that you elect to opt out when presented with a logical response. I suspect you do not have a counter.

  139. Ryan Neat says:

” Including Kerry who used 4 deferrments. Why didn’t he go right away?”

Because he was in college you jackass. Why did Cheney use 5 and never serve? At least Kerry signed up, instead of going to more grad school like Cheney did.

  140. Ryan Neat says:

Ryan, you were picked on as a kid weren’t you? It has to be. You should do something about your anger about this.
Get some help. Ask your boyfriend I am sure he can recommend someone.

  144. Ringo says:

I’ll say this, Ben, before I get to my long-awaited “bong hits,” you seem to agree with my post at 116 with the caveat that “there may have been a much bigger problem than what Americans could be told. Sharing such information may have told more about ourselves than we cared to share with our enemies” — okay, but I still believe, and millions of Americans also believe, that we would have been safer defending our own soil on our own soil, rather than going to war with Iraq. And Bush’s rationale for a war in Iraq has already been proved to be a pack of lies. Note: Your nasty comments start at post 130, before I lobbed back at you. So your “I toss them back when they get tossed at me” really doesn’t apply here, considering you tossed the first one.

  145. Ryan Neat says:

“Ryan, seriously, you are the most brainwashed stupid dumbass I have ever encountered.”

Funny, that’s exactly how you come across.

“Ryan, you were picked on as a kid weren’t you?”

Libby is walking on crutches because he knows he doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

  152. Better Dead than Red...state says:

Let the stupid Bentroll piss and moan. We know the truth:

    THE BUSH ERROR IS OVER

  153. Ryan Neat says:

“Ryan you can’t hide from your feminity. Maybe if you got your boyfriend out of your mouth you might be able to act like you have some spine.”

Hehe, well I have no problem with my or your femininity – but clearly you do. There’s an 80% correlation between homophobia and being a closet gay man – you really should go get some help. I don’t care if you’re gay or not, but being in the closet makes people freaky – it explains a lot about you.

“But you can’t. You are the classic candyass. That one guy in the class that got his ass kicked and picked on for being different in that way.”

Hehe, well this candyass seems to have no problem mopping up the floor with you. Your really shouldn’t project your ‘anxious masculinity’ and ‘insecurities’ on others. I never had a problem being kicked on, nor did I ever in my life have my ass kicked – I’m irish your weak willed little worm. We’re taught from birth how to take care of ourselves. But clearly your association and identification with either beating or getting beaten up shows your fears, insecurities and childhood traumas that you’ve never grown out of. You’re sad, very sad…

“Go get the towel for Chad, Ryannie. ”

Huh? Whatever fantasies you’re having, leave me out of them. You’re too wierd, and too much of a pervert for me to want to participate. Get some help you sick idiot.

  154. Ben says:

So the pussy Ryan waits 4 hours then posts. Anyway besides the fact that you are one of these spineless liberals you help to make things too easy for conservatives. The country is still made up of good and courageous people despite your existence. Like I said why not leave. Just go to France or Germany or BummfuctEgypt. But just go. Stupid and a candyass, Ryan you are quite the combo.

  155. Ben says:

Yeah thats why you keep following my posts. You are the classic piece of shit that everyone hates. Your solution to everything is some bullshit that only reveals how spineless you are. The 200+ years that world understands is our love for freedom and our willingness to die for it. You on the other hand are much more like the weaker people of the world. Incredibly stupid and naive and always discounting evil as an excuse because deep down you’re a coward. And Ryan that is who you are. You and your little buddies. Just one big bunch of embarrassing candyasses. You know that and I know you know that. I know your type. You been a pussy your whole life. The only thing you can do is throw out your bs. Of course you never do that to anyone face to face. Go back to the bedroom where your boyfriend waits for you to assume the position.

  156. Ben says:

I thought you were claiming to have a life…I guess you’re just a liar..in addition to being a pussy. But a pussy admired by other pussies. At least you got that going for you. Now go to bed your boyfriend is waiting for you.

Ryan do you ever read your own posts? Do realize how much you sound like a little feminite fag? I mean all your little sayings and capitalizations. It is funny to read. I will give you that. Maybe you could be a writer for Will and Grace or something like that.

  157. Richard Hertz says:

    Dear Liberals,

You lost in 2000. You lost in 2004. You can’t touch the President. So you try to go after his sidekick(Rove). Well, You can call him the Teflon Don…. HA HA

    Richard Hertz

  158. Bill Clark says:

Richard, You poor idiot! Is it so important to you that we kick the USA back 100 years so the robber barons can once again rule this country?

What you have is the WORST administration, congress and supreme court that has ever held office. These Repulsives are just out of control and deserve to all be in jail.

You can HA HA all you want, but in the end, this horrible person will some day effect your life as you now know it. I only pray that we can survive long enough to get this corrupt group on their way back to Texas. See how well FEMA is working in Florida? Don’t you feel the government making you safer?

You’re doing a heck of a job, W. (Thanks to the support of nuts like poor Richard) BTW Richard, why aren’t you supporting the troops and going with them to war in Iraq? It’s your war on “tarror”.

  159. Curtis says:

    Licky ben….
if your brother hasent bitch slaped you then he’s a fool too.
The subject is you not kerry or johnson, it’s you.
sorry you missed going, really! but you could maybe get a job with blackhawk ya know! then you could be the hero that you have locked in your twisted head.
    good luck ben.
remember ben the subject is you, stay on task and stand on your own two feet.

  160. JHill says:

    >>>
Go back to the bedroom where your boyfriend waits for you to assume the position.
    >>>>

Oh, that’s nice! Insinuating that someone is homosexual is a GREAT way of asserting your ‘manhood’ [NOT!!]. Actually, it just proves your homophobia and your insecurities. One can be gay AND be a decent and courageous person.

[FLASH!!] For those who talk obsessively about someone’s having–or not having–’Balls’:
Rosa Parks DIDN’T have ‘Balls’ (nor does Cindy Sheehan); but I suggest they are both much braver than those insecure men who indulge in male posturing on message boards. Please GROW UP!

  161. MBains says:

Of course we should go after the Saudis but they presently provide 24% of our oil and right now that may not be a wise move.

    You were so close Ben.

Wise move? Short-sighted neo-con pawn. If the President of the United States had told the King of Saudi Arabia that our country held that country responsible for both of the WTC bombings, al Qaeda would have gone bankrupt and the US would have actually had a valid reason for opening the Alaskan reserves when the Sauds rebuffed us.

It’s true that there isn’t enough oil in AK to supplant 3 or 4 years without Saudi oil. It’s also true that there is more than enough oil available from a combination of the North Sea, South America, Canada (oil shale with an explosion of Ven-Cap for its exploitation/development) and half a dozen other locales world-wide. With the effusion of sympathy towards the US which 9-11 produced, deals would have been struck that, while they wouldn’t have been as profitable to US oil producers as a “friendly” Iraq might hypothetically provide, would have been more than enough to maintain our economy until the Saud’s knew we were serious about

    A) respecting their right to be an Islamo-fascist state (that is NOT an insult even though the idea is abhorrent and disgusting to any quasi-libertarian)

    and

    B) obliterating anyone of ANY political-belief structure who supports terrorism against our nation.

BushCo sought to have their Cake (rigid control of the US & World economies) and eat it too (cheap Saudi & Iraqi Oil.) There is yet to arise a human Cultural Philosophy with an “inherent right” to Set the Rules of Enjoinment for everyone.

Not only are the neo-con fascists as far from “Right” as any wrong-headed God-King of the European & Middle Eastern Dark Ages, W’s call for “a man on Mars” in 50 years is as laughably a disingenous bribe to the Scientific community as his IDism is insulting and degrading to our species as a whole.

Invading Iraq was wrong and the Admin lied non-stop to get it done.

Coulter is a self-serving, semi-intelligent hottie I wouldn’t trust if she knelt in front of me and said “*gulp* See, I told you I swallow.”

Alright… It’s Sunday so it’s time to watch the one bit of Faux programming that is worth a damn: Sports!

    (Browns w/ the 2pts @ Houston) {shakin’head} {sigh} Maybe “next year”…

  162. Tony Steblay says:

Scooter broke his foot while he and Dick were dancing. Scooter said he would fall on his sword. Dick choked up, missed a beat and stepped right on Scooter’s foot. Conde laughed but W said “Let’s have a moment of silent prayer.”

  163. Rob Lafferty says:

I just invested some time reading all the comments posted here. It’s always great to see that others are taking the time to put there opinions out in the world for others to review and comment on. Good information, misinformation, and downright foolish beliefs all come out – it’s very entertaining, I think – maybe even good therapy for some…but it does get pretty juvenile when the personal attacks start flying back and forth. A person’s sexuality has little to do with their political beliefs. J. Edgar Hoover was a closet homosexual and transvestite while leading a public life as FBI director. His policies and actions, regardless of rightness or wrongness, were very strong.

  164. Rob Lafferty says:

I also notice that most posters are still caught in a Dem/Repub, Lib/Con, Us-against-Them mindset. Unfortunate, although entertaining to read. That trap is one of the primary causes behind the fall of the American Republic, which happened a long time ago. Good governing doesn’t require a political party affiliation, and labeling political discourse into one of only two convenient packages prevents honest, realistic discussion of an issue.
Having said that, here’s my opinion:
Soon after its principal members are no longer in power, the Bush administration will be widely recognized as the worst in American history. The citizens will be repairing the damage they’ve done across the country and throughout the world for decades to come…

  165. Richard Hertz says:

    Dear Bill Clark

Actually FEMA worked well in Florida. Why? you ask. Well, they have smart governor. While the Governor and Mayor of Louisiana and New Orleans didn’t have a clue. They knew people could not get out. Because they had no way to get out. Yet they didn’t ask for the busses until it was to late. THe news said it was going to be a bad storm for over a week before it hit. A competent Governor/Mayor should have though. Hmmm maybe we should call fema to send us busses before it is to late.

As for the war on tError. Right away you attack me. By saying why don’t you go fight the war. Who is to say i am not in the military? But anywats, just remember that our allies, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry(before he did’t)thought Saddam had WMDs. Saddam had WMDs. Then he didn’t. But he couldn’t show proof that he got rid of them. We should have taking care of him back in the later 90s. When he was no longer letting the inspectors in. But someone was probably getting a BJ.
Maybe you should have moved with Alec Baldwin. Oh wait, that dumbass is still here.

  166. Raving Moderate says:

I think an indictment for leaking information in order to help to cover up other information used to deceive Congress and the public into supporting a war would indeed be a serious problem for the administration, and would and should open up more investigations. I also think the shots are going beyond cheap here (not that I haven’t seen worse on conservative bulletin boards, Jeremy), but I will go so far as to agree that Coulter’s arguments and opinions have never impressed me any more than any of the other so-called “conservative pundits”, a job for which the chief qualification seems to be the unwillingness to back down from the latest spin. One has to be a sort of a cross between a bulldog and a parrot, metaphorically speaking. But today, I’ll give Coulter a little credit for showing a bit of humility on behalf of the neocons, who should be chastened.

  167. turk fowler says:

I’ve learned something reading this thread:
#1- Ryan is accused of having no-life but his boyfriend
    #2- JHill is offended easily
#3- Richard Hertz is offended by Bill
#4- Ann Coulter is offensive, but to some, she’s a sexy vixen who they want to spank them
    There, I think I got everything…..

  168. BrianD says:

Your afraid of Ann Coulter and the right. Then you quietly yearn for the beauty and the mastery

  169. Bob Adler says:

I hope I get the last word here.

The more mental midgets despise Ann Coulter, the more many Americans love her. God Bless Ann Coulter and President George W. Bush, two of the greatest Americans in the past 100 years!
