Tom Davis (R-VA):

By Judd Legum on Oct 29th, 2005 at 9:56 am

Tom Davis (R-VA):

“[I’m] very disappointed in Libby, and the White House, and the vice president and the president. They should have taken care of this a long time ago. They should have done their own investigation. They’re going to get very little sympathy on Capitol Hill, at least from me…They brought this on themselves.”

“And as you sit back, you want to learn: Why was this information going out? Why were people taking this information about Valerie Wilson and giving it to reporters? Why did Mr. Libby say what he did? Why did he tell Judith Miller three times? Why did he tell the press secretary on Monday? Why did he tell Mr. Cooper? And was this something where he intended to cause whatever damage was caused?”

“So what you were saying is the harm in an obstruction investigation is it prevents us from making the fine judgments we want to make.”

Don’t forget who’s spinning this for the 150 thousand (?) American citizens in Iraq.

Only Rush is on Armed Forces radio, as he has been for many many years.

So the propaganda machine makes sure that Americans who are asked to lay their lives on the line, and to kill tens of thousands of middle eastern residents are getting pure Pravda on this episode also.

Here’s the petition to remove Rush.

They’ve refused to put on someone is a non-fanatic progressive (Ed Schultz). Either they need both sides or they need to remove this man.

Rush was not ’supporting the commander in chief’ when Clinton was in office.

People wondered if the Oklahoma bomber was inspired by right-wing anti-government nuts like Rush. We should also check and find if the soldiers abusing prisoners were listining to Rush’s encouragement.

  4. George HW Bush says:

OK Junior, let’s see if you can top this!!.

Your ditched the crew of his airplane, ran the CIA and pardoned a whole bunch of war criminals so they could continue to ’serve’.

Chris Shays didn’t hold back lastnight on Larry King either. It is good to see that the GOP still has 5% of its caucus that thinks independatly. The GOP needs more McCain’s and Shay’s and fewer Santurum’s.

  6. wisedup says:

Thank you!…anti-meg, you just made my whole day!. On pardons, don’t forget NIXON-FORD…Ford pardoned him ‘for the good of the nation’….NO for the BAD of the nation you fool!…If he would have not, done this, the crooks would not see a ‘way out’. Let justice run it’s course and STAND.

  7. JIMBO says:

Nice statement by Tom Davis, but a very unrealistic part of it came to mind. The part about the Bush Administration doing it’s own investigation. It would have lasted a day or a week by putting their hands behind their backs and planning Dubya’s next vacation in Florida or Texas.

But he’s right about one thing; They have brought this on themselves.

  8. Mama says:

Davis’s statement is two dollars short and several days late. Where was he weeks, months and years ago? But that was then and this is now; what is Davis going to do for us today? Fitzpatrick hasn’t suffieciently or fully explained the role of Rove, Cheney or other key Administration figures. These people should not continue to serve if they are connected to the leak. Just because their conduct isn’t criminal, doesn’t make it right. Certainly there is an appearance of impropriety (is that an understatement or what?). So it’s not too late for an investigation . . . Congress won’t do it, Bush won’t either or won’t do it with any integrity, so whose left? The press? Or just us bloggers? We need to keep on the heat and continue to call for the truth until we get it. OH MAMA!
