As in the witty pun "Hosed at the gas pump" when the price of gas is high. I think we all know what "Getting Screwed" is. It doesn't have a lot to do with driving screws into a piece of wood, rather driving "Wood" into something else. "Getting Hosed", a vulgar idiom for (1) being taken advantage of, (2) engaging in rough sexual intercourse, (3) being beaten up by a rubber hose or (4) being abused by a stream of water from a fire hose. An idioms is a term which must be learned as a unit, because its meaning is not clear from its parts. In this case the term 'Hose" can be seen to refer to male genitalia when referring to a woman. I hope this clears it up a little. It's extremely offensive language that has been recently adopted by conservatives because it's meaning can be so obtuse. When she spoke, it was clear she had a chip on her shoulders. The moral of the story is, it's not always a race thing, not always racist. It can be a number of things, but according to our personal issues with the subject at hand, we (now days) tend to think the worst possible case if it has something to do with our opponants politically. I think this is the case here and in many other situations. People are putting their emotional issues above common sense and others are using any opportunity at all (even if not related) to bash the side they hate so much. It would be nice if people recognized this fact, this dividing and horrifying fact, and stop acting as if everything is a political fight, as if one side is really evil and their side is angelic. As if people are truly out to hurt Amercans for their own greed, it's not realistic, not pracical and really is a sad state of affairs.
