As a Canadian, my exposure to American opinion these days comes from your mainstream tv stations, and they almost always present a right-wing, pro-war (or at best war-neutral) POV. So it seem the us senate isn’t entirely corrupt!! Hurrah! John MCain is passing a bill to make torture illegal, and about time. The U.S. and Britain have been massivley critiscised across the world for apparent detainee abuse.

However since Dick “the hand in the puppet’s ass” Cheney has been condoning abuse and trying to stop the anti-torture bill, America is now doubly mocked. I’m just glad there are so many decent, intelligent, moral and praise-worthy people left in your country, that Dick will be stopped. At least on this. Back McCain you wonderful people!
