That’s the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. Not uber-professional, but it makes his point pretty clearly and brings attention to the problems with the bill.
That Reconcilation Act has nothing to do with Deficit Reduction. It’s a fraud. They are going to do some reduction that hurt the poor, then push for yet another tax cut. Net: Deficit Increase – duh.
Future Generations will be writing books calling our generation the “The most Selfish Generation” because all the GOP does is foist our bills onto our children.
#1 I dunno. Doesn’t seem to me there’s anything unprofessional about really inspired agitprop, when it’s utterly appropriate and defensible. It’s been a huge mistake to let the Thugs go unchalleneged on these Orwellian-named legislative initiatives.
For example, when it became apparent that “No Child Left Behind” was going to be significantly underfunded to the point of inevitable failure, it should have been re-themed as the “Flunk ‘Em All and Let God Sort Them Out” plan.
The truth shall set us free.
That is what we are finally getting and
it is all we really need.
The entire GOP platform is based on deceit.
It is becoming clear to everyone.
Lautenberg is a senile old goat. It was pathetic that Democrats had to recruit him in 2002 because they have no one fresh and new like John Thune, or Jim Talent or Sununu. Name two senate Dems besides Obama that are not complete has-beens…..
“The wackos get their information through the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees,” Scanlon wrote in the memo, which was read into the public record at a hearing of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. “Simply put, we want to bring out the wackos to vote against something and make sure the rest of the public lets the whole thing slip past them.”
Hey trolls, er wackos, this is what your buddies think of you. How does it feel being used?
Republicans are so filled with hate. They accuse everyone else of name calling, and everything else, just as they do the same. They’re hysterical insane and pathetic zealots and haters. No wonder so few americans agree with them, and why they’re so far out of the mainstream. Even with the media droning their talking points, they’ve still lost. That must be frustrating for people who are so delusional…
Good! I’m sick of Bush and Co’s names for these things – my favorate being the Clean Air Air. We SHOULD name these amendments and acts what they really are. These cover names are hiding the truth of what they really are. They are given these names to hide them from the American people.
If all these acts were named what they really do, Americans may think twice.
Andrew G @ 4. In the military, the new fiscal year started 01 October of the previous year. Might be the same for all the Government.
As far as these actions by my fellow Democrats, it reminds me of that scene in Animal House, when Dean Wormer says that the Delta’s are on “Double Secret Probation†and Otter says lets throw a toga party. “They’re gonna bust us no matter what we do. We might as well have fun doing it.â€
The pre$$titute’s have already written their headline. The progressives can never win when it comes to the MSM. Maybe this has sunk into the Democratic Leadership of the Senate.
Did anyone else see the Delay/Scanlon/Abramoff memo today? Apparently they don’t think much of conservative republican voters. These poor sickos who vote republican get what they deserve.
“The wackos get their information through the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees,†Scanlon wrote in the memo, which was read into the public record at a hearing of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. “Simply put, we want to bring out the wackos to vote against something and make sure the rest of the public lets the whole thing slip past them.â€
Right on Frank! I’m tired of hearing “lets work together for the good of the country”
Translation: you keep quiet, come get your beating and like it, while we destroy the country.
Left Coast Mike, Cantwell is a big yes on all fronts, Murry is questionable. Murry is doing well for our vet’s but little else and has voted many times with the right. After voting for Robert’s I even sent Murry a note she is loosing my vote on her next run. Cantwell got a Thank You. I wrote about this in another thread.Especialy when you know you will loose one should stand and vote with their constitutants. When Murry comes up for a vote I will vote for someone else….Blessings
S.Cox, I must say that Murray’s vote for Roberts surprised me also, I think she has done a good job overall. However she does represent all of the people of Washington State, which has a dividing line right down the middle. East being very right of center and West very left, with the exception of a few communities. I’m with you she will have to earn my vote again.
Sad that our senators have to resort to this level to expose the reality of this legislation. But, it would appear to be the only way to get the American public to pay attention. Republicans have packaged their bullshit in lofty sounding names for years…about time the Democrats start relabeling it. If the Republican legislation was sold as consumer goods, the Republicans would be sued for deceptive advertising.
Good Morning America, How are Ya.? Left Coast Mike, do you live on the Seattle side.? I’m in Snohomish county. We sure have our work cut out for us……Blessings
Sharon C. I do, I am also in Snohomish County. I know we are surrounded by a large number of conservatives on this side as well. Small towns and a mentality that hasn’t changed since the gold rush days. I do believe that the change is coming thanks to GW and his bunch of morons…even my conservative friends have been rethinking their votes. We are on the move!
Left Coast Mike, the worst thing of all, besides this dreadful war on Iraq and the American public is the amount of eligable voters that do not vote. Last year I signed up 2 in their 60’s that had never voted, ever, and both were vetrans. Very sad. Guess things have to get a lot worse before people get involved. Your right about the back words, old time views. One would think with all our technolegy (internet, T.V. Radio) people would become more informed but that doesn’t seem to be the case, if it does not personaly involve them, the majority expect the rest of us to take care of things…..Blessings

#14 Maria Cantwell and Patti Murray
November 3rd, 2005 at 6:25 pmHahaha, that’s hilarious. Between this and the Senate shutdown the other day, could it be that the Democrats are actually starting to DO something?
