Krauthammer is a worthless crippled Nazi Jew. I have about as much use for that pig as I did for those Jews that helped out the Nazi regime. Cowards! Krauthammer just forgot which side he SHOULD be on.

Response to Charles Krauthammer
'Washington is a monument to world liberty ...
Saturday, November 26, 2005 by Charles Krauthammer

Charles Krauthammer must have been particularly sentimental this week judged by his unequivocal praise of American liberty and those foreign icons of history whose parallel aspirations for freedom are found memorialized all about Washington. But isn't his laudation really all about Washington? From Washington came the grant for corporate lobby power to stand in the front of every election line holding up bags of money to winking politicians preaching individual freedom to the little guy in the back of the line. Into Washington pour battalions of lawyers, eventually becoming armies of politicians and representatives needed to do corporations' bidding on the two party stage, playing good cop bad cop for our consumption while, as the late George Wallace accurately attested, 'not a dime's worth of difference exists between them.' Yes, lawyers and politicians have more and more liberty.

And isn't it Washington closing its eyes and ears as states' and municipalities' oppress constitutional freedoms to pursue happiness by levying thousands of dollars through superfluous regulations, fees, and taxes before the little guy can open a hot-dog stand, all under the guise of public interest? Unlike the days in which American liberty was birthed, it's clear that self-employment liberty is discouraged while incentives favor the corporation, an unmentioned fellow in the Constitution. The corporation's hoop through which it must jump is formality, the sole proprietor's, formidable.

It is from Washington that free speech will be permanently threatened if worshippers of the Patriot Act, of whose church Charles Krauthammer's elite pals belong,
have their way by Senate vote this December. What labyrinth of legal manipulations, what bewitchment upon common law and sense led to conditions getting even close to something as sinister as the Patriot Act, all marketed under the guise of national security while labeling those daring to scrutinize the Act as goofy conspiratorialists.

Don't dare question the purity of its symbolism or early French political expectations represented in their Statue of Liberty gift to our country or Charles Krauthammer will consider you a 'fashionable anti-American,' as he puts it. I thought criticizing government was pretty old-fashioned even when Thomas Paine was around. But I do recall that super patriotism and nationalism, as woven into Krauthammer's article presuming everyone's liberty today is solid as granite, precedes fascism.

Yes Mr. Krauthammer, Washington is gaining more and more liberty and so I suppose it is a monument as such.

Women are property to republicans and the evangelical idiots they represent.
=====================

Not the women: the children. The husband doesn't care about what the wife does, but he wants the kid for property purposes (or not, as the case may be). Kids are tools, pawns, leverage, and support in your old age.

Would Alito and Krauthammer then contend that there should be spousal notification, husband to wife, of his nasty little affairs. No?? Thought not. Women being second-class citizens and all that.

Furthermore, all of you idiots (this is what the Greeks, long, long, ago, labeled people who were ignorant about genuine politics), who are mincing words about abortion and the reversal of Roe vs. Wade - wake the hell up!

The Unites States of America has only 5% of the population and is ABUSING 25% of the planet Earth's resources. Do you really think the Earth is a big round stupid ball?! This is why I call all of you idiots.

Earth has an infection and she is ridding herself of this dis-ease, by developing a fever! There are two-thirds too many human beings. The Earth's resources can only, in a well balanced fashiion, sustain one-third of the homo-sapiens. 650 billion people are 450 billion too many. It's plain and simple, the absolute truth.

Thus, get your heads out of your moral backwoods mentality(ies) and discuss population control. That's the real issue.

Otherwise, wait until 2010 and see what this planet does to teach US, each and every one, who is the biggest and brightest of US all!

Or, alternatively, PLEASE - Do NOT believe me and those of US who get ready for the changing of the times, (Hubbert's Peak & Colin Campbell), can thank the Universe for helping the Earth to bring balance back to this insanity of people who think women should even consider illegal abortion and notification issues.

Clean up the gene pool. YES. Universe and Planet Earth, abort those who woulda, coulda, shoulda, evolved their consciousness, but chose to continue being idiots and destroying everything that is NATURAL, by the unnatural pretense of acting as God.

Cicero, you said: "Now, does this mean I would agree with a law like this? I honestly don’t know. I mean, I know I would want to at least be notified if my wife was about to undergo any kind of medical procedures, and she would want to know the same about me."

You, and any other idiot who thinks women shoulda, coulda, woulda have to adhere to any notification to her husband, via a legal document, regarding her body, is an idiot. In the event this becomes another reality, after it was realized to be truly ignorant, then let the same legal document be enacted, for men. It's that simple.

Any man who believes women must be treated as though they are not equal, needs to be treated exactly as they want women to be treated and/or "behave" according to legal documents decided by women. Fair is fair.

You also said, Cicero that anyone to the ". . right of Michael Moore." That's correct, I mean you got this statement right. It tells us you have some hope left in your decision making machine, the brain. At least Michael Moore is using his money to educate the masses. The current Administration is using OUR $$ to lie, steal and destroy OUR COUNTRY.

Your incredibly ignorant statement about ". . Now, I honestly don't know if I would agree with a law like this, blah, blah, blah, I would want to be notified, blah, blah, blah . . ."

What a f---ing mi·sog·y·nist you are.

So if the wife has an affair, gets pregant and needs to have an abortion she has to tell her husband, but if the man has an affair and his mistress gets pregnant and needs to have an abortion he doesn't have to tell his wife that he created a baby but the mistress has to tell her husband.

OK, I get it. If only women ruled the world. I wonder what the rules would be then.

O'Connor said it in the decision overruling Alito - that he was treating women as property and as children. There wasn't anything unclear about her position either:

"Those enactments, and our judgment that they are constitutional, are based on the quite reasonable assumption that minors will benefit from consultation with their parents and that children will often not realize that their parents have their best interests at heart. We cannot adopt a parallel assumption about adult women."

Somehow this didn't occur to Alito. O'Connor goes on:

"The husband's interest in the life of the child his wife is carrying does not permit the State to empower him with this troubling degree of authority over his wife. … A husband has no enforceable right to require a wife to advise him before she exercises her personal choices. … A State may not give to a man the kind of dominion over his wife that parents exercise over their children."

Blaming Alito's disregard of human dignity on O'Connor is so Republican - no sense of personal responsibility.

Absolutely correct Joanna, the pugs want to give woman beaters more ammunition to beat their wives. A battered woman confessing to her abusive husband that she is considering abortion is a death wish.

Remember this stupid republicans, wife beaters beat their children too. You should know, as you are the freaks that support wife beating.

A lot of people are saying that the possibility of abusive husbands or problems in relationships is not an issue here because a woman only has to notify her husband and does not need his consent. But in many abusive relationships, the woman lives in fear, avoiding as much contact with her husband as possible. A woman might avoid getting an abortion (even though she knows that's what she really wants to do) simply to avoid the threat of confrontation with her husband.

"I always find it interesting how ‘religious’ people get all up in everyone’s shorts about morality, when they have higher divorce rates and higher crime rates than atheists do"!

Thanks for that fact Ryan. My husband has done extensive research on the subject of christianity and divorce. Christians DO divorce more than non-christians..

I don't know the stats on the crime rate but everytime I see a criminal in jail (on television) he tries to convince us that he has found the lord and has been absolved of his sins. I've never heard a criminal in jail claim innocence without the "use" of Jesus.

Ozark, Blue, Ryan- We need more athiests to improve the moral standing of our country! I'm confused about one thing though, who decides what is moral? Mother Theresa? Stalin? Ryan? Who gets to judge? I vote for me because I'm raising the question!

Ryan Neat - just a note of general support. I see your posts here from time to time, and usually am at least 95% sympathetic. Your style, dynamic and general attitude of liberty and zero tolerance for rightwing robots are completely consistent with mine. I fight the good fight with posts in other online forums, and appreciate occasional notes of support like this one, though posting the truth is its own reward. Because battling hypocrites, liars, fascists and all-of-the-above is often a laborious, lonely task. But occasional posts from people chiming in remind me that I speak not only for myself, but also for many others just reading, who agree, but want these insane attacks on our freedom and sanity to end, and hesitate to post rather than make a bigger deal out of what is usually self-evident, but these days less than perfectly popular. Keep up the good work - you're in good company.

I have only recently become a "Blogger"> Think Progress is one of my favorite sites to visit. I usually arrive here from a link via "BuzzFlash". Ryan Neat always has a good point to make.I like the way he attempts to hold the misinformed responsible for their opinions,no matter how low the level of "grey matter" they possess is. As to the abortion issue in general, why is it that those who oppose also oppose making availiable those things that would greatly reduce the need for them? Such as the "morning after pill", RU486, condoms, birth control pills, even sex ed. And yet we are constantly seeing ad, after ad, after ad, hyping a variety of products designed to create raging hard-on's and apparently that is just fine by them. If F&B comes back, I would like him to explain that particular juxtapositional moral standard. Hard on = Yeahh Baby!! Consequences of using the hard-on, NEVER!!! But the women don't have a right to choices?!? I think if a man wants to influence a choice that, by rights, should belong to the woman they should have to sign an irrevokable, unassailable legal document, (no appeals allowed)claiming that they will forever be responsible, in EVERY way for any child, then fine they can offer their opinion on the subject, otherwise, mind your own business. And what another person does with their body falls into that category. and those who oppose abortion should get off their self-righteous pudendums and immediately adopt every child in this country currently trapped in the foster care system. But I won't hold my breath....
