The open question.

The open question.

“Mr. Bush was not mentioned in the indictment. But the fact that so many of his aides seem to have been involved in dealing with the issue that eventually led to the leak…leaves open the question of what the president knew.” Further reading HERE.

I wish the media would stop treating bush like an innocent bystander. He’s the president of the united states. This is his administration. Whatever his direct involvement, he’s ultimately responsible.

  2. profmarcus says:

and THAT is the big, fat MONEY question, isn’t it…?

    “Offical A” = President Bush?

  6. Theresa says:

Regardless of what’s happening in the White House, the President is utlimately responsible.

    Bush must go down…

The problem with dubya is that he’s so, uh, challenged that he doesn’t understand 80 percent of he hears and misses half of what’s left because he’s fantasizing about being a Top-Gun.

Nonetheless, I’d give a body part to watch him grilled like they did Clinton over his hummer.

This kind of rant during a time progressives and Democrats have clear and legitimate ability to point to Administration failures give the opposition plenty of ammunition to say we are out of the mainstream…and people will buy it.

Bill Maher Outrage: Judge Alito “Must Bomb An Abortion Clinic”
A Friday, November 4, 2005, op-ed piece in the Los Angeles Times by HBO host Bill Maher begins as follows

“President Bush’s new Supreme Court nominee, Samuel Alito, must bomb an abortion clinic.”

It gets … worse. Four paragraphs later

“Is Alito a decent man with Christian values? Until he kills a nurse with a pipe bomb, there’s no way to be sure. Sometimes the only way to convince some people that you’re truly pro-life is to kill a few of them. Like when a gang member has to knife some random guy to prove himself.”

“Kill[ing] a nurse with a pipe bomb”? Comparing pro-lifers to murderous gang members? Maher has been outrageous in the past, but … this?

We can only imagine the “outrage” in the media if [fill in your favorite conservative writer here] had printed anything even remotely like this.

  11. Joe Sixpack says:

Hey RichB #12. Thanks for the quotes from the Bill Maher, I’ll have to make sure I tune him in on a rerun. Isn’t he outrageous? Heh, heh. His rants as you put it, just crack me up. Speaking of rants, you need to change your moniker. I mean, RichB has to go. The liberals here will see it as “RichBitch” or something. As a redneck myself, I can tell you are a woman by the wussy words you use. Kind of like NED.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but what has Bill Maher got to do with the subject here? Its about Bush and his probable involvement in the leaking of a CIA operative’s identity. I mean, whatever your stupid point is, you don’t seriously think anyone is going to equate a comedian’s tongue-in-cheek humor with a President of the United States and his top aides being involved in illegal, enethical behavior that borders on unAmerican activities, do you?

Hey, on your moniker. Here’s a few ideas: How about “SwitchB” or “RepugB.” Or even better, DumbB, like our president’s nickname? As a conservative myself, I’m just trying to help you here.

  12. Pete Bogs says:

he certainly isn’t going to tell us, and if Fitzy and/or the Dems don’t push, we never will know… unless someone – say an indicted former staffer – decides to spill the beans in exchange for a lesser charge…

  13. Average TV Viewer says:

I think him being unaware is worse than him partaking in the lies.

  14. Marie says:

#1, I agree entirely with your comment. My theory as to the reason for this has to do with the image of Bush as a mental midget, an uncurious, poorly learned, inarticulate fool — which is true — but those traits are contributing to an easy excuse for him to not have known about nefarious activities of his White House. While all of those negative traits and more are quite real, the man is politically savvy, he plays hardball, he is a gambler of high stakes, and the ultimate responsibility of his White House is his. He must be held to account. He is responsible in the end.

  15. SpudgeBoy says:

    #12

The difference between Bill Maher and (insert conservative writer here) is that Bill Maher IS A COMEDIAN AND THE AIN’T ANYTHING FUNNY ABOUT CONSERVTIVES. Pull your head outta your ass and have some fun every once and a while.

Bill Maher did that Alito piece on Friday’s Real Time. Even Joe Scarborough was laughing when Bill said Alito should blow up an abortion clinic.

Let me break it down for you, since you don’t seem to have a sense of humor. Bill said Alito should blow up an abortion clinic to prove to all of you ring wing nut jobs that he IS conservative enough for you retards.

On the same exact show Joe Scraborough wanted the panel to agree that waterboarding (holding prisoners heads under water, while their hands are tied behind them) is not torture. Of course, nobody agreed with him. I find this to be way more offensive than a joke. Joe was not joking. He wants just a little torture to be legal.

  16. Marie says:

#14, Joe, The comments in #12 are evidence again that the right are humorless. They cannot take a joke. They are very quick to slam their opponent with lies, they can run the most vile campaigns, they can sanctimoniously argue the most immoral positions, but all deadly serious — they have no sense of humor, no sense of irony. They can dish it out but they can’t take it.

  17. Joe Sixpack says:

Marie you are absolutely right. They can dish it out, but can’t take it. Except me, of course. I can take all the crap you guys can throw at me. That’s because I’m a rednecked dipstick.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t tell you how hard it is to be the only good-natured, rightwinger on this site. I mean, its really tough on me. It really is.

  18. Susan says:

Did you read the last statement of this article. A republican strategist claims that American’s could care less about this leak thing…

LOL! It’s the leak thing that proves that intel was fixed around the policy.

Pugs aren’t only liars, their stupid too.

    IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY NOW!

  19. RichB in Carroll County md says:

#18, #19 #20 and #14 you missed the point of my post, and I apologize for the lack of clarity. What I was trying to say in the first couple of lines is that Progressives and Democrats have legitimate issues against Republicans, but the statements that Bill Maher made would be twisted to defer those legitimate issues being raised. Why give the opposition smoke screens by this type of rhetoric, it’s counterproductive.

again, I apologize for the confusion in my posting

The bumper sticker says “If you are not outraged, you’re not paying attention.”
#23 Ryan, I have never, never been this upset over politics as I have been since 2000 – and I’ve been around a while. This is the worst I have ever seen and the worst in our history. You bet I rant!

  21. Willy says:

It’s been very disheartening and greatly disappointing to see that the American people (generally) can be so gullible and so easily manipulated as has been done by Bushco over the last five years. 9/11 happened under their watch and then was used and abused to forward their immoral agenda. They are masters at using fear to manipulate the people.

  22. Navy Vet says:

Give them enough rope and they will hang them selves. You can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some of the time but you can’t fool all the people all the time. What a web we weave when we practice to decieve. This bunch has tried them all.
