“Armed Forces Radio

has decided to include the Ed Schultz Show in overseas programming.” No launch date was specified — it should have happened three weeks ago.

  1. Spudge_Boy says:

This is a good example of Think Progress and other progressive blogs working. Anybody who says it doesn’t is a stoog.

Okay NeD, your turn to say something about Clinton not wanting Ed on Armed Forces Radio.

  2. Marie says:

We can make a difference, folks. We can all Email, call and write and we can effect a change. Small victories, yes, but they are a start.
Now, let’s start the ball rolling for the big kahuna — the impeachment of Bush and Ehcney for war crimes.

  3. snookered says:

    Can you impeach for imcompetance?

  4. Zookeeper says:

No launch date. Don’t hold your breath.

  5. Ryan Neat says:

    Snookered,

You can impeach based on subverting the constitutional process for going to war by presenting false evidence. It’s why the republicans are so afraid of 2006 and Fitzie.

  6. Jeremy says:

I guess tempers have dimmed a bit at the pentagon after the teleconference debacle. Oh god, if only republicans could see through the deception…it’s so sad.

  7. JamesC says:

Go Big Ed. Pumping our armed forces with the likes of Druggy Rush and others is a shame. Finally a voice of reason and truth for our fine men and women in the military.

  8. The Northeast Dilemma says:

maybe because he will demoralize the troops

  9. Spudge_Boy says:

    #8

“maybe because he will demoralize the troops”

Actually this will invigorate the troops knowing that there are still people in America who don’t think of our soldiers as “cannon fodder.”

    You forgot Clinton.

  10. The Northeast Dilemma says:

Spudge – I disagree. You are telling these people who are risking their lives they went to war for a lie.

I feel like liberals never learn. You guys want to lose the war and make the troops feel like dirt. It’s sad. I truly pity the American left. If you people were in charge, we’d probably have rioting like the French.

  11. Jeremy says:

NED, why do you repeat the same talking points from all the neo-con pundits??? Name one liberal who actually said they want to “lose” the war. The problem is that you can’t. Why? Because being against the war is not the same as wanting to lose the war. You have to get this in your head, stop making up fantasy and lies, it’s making you delussional in your arguments, dont you see??

What makes the soldiers feel like dirt is having to sacrafice themselves for a country that was NEVER A THREAT. That my friend, makes you feel like dirt. If anything, the dems do good for the troops. They are always vocal on the treatment of troops, but of course, the dems will not shut their mouths when they know this war is unjustified.

Your just one big fat lying hypocrite NED.

  12. Jeremy says:

“If you people were in charge, we’d probably have rioting like the French.”

And to think that the rioting would be worse if France HAD gone to war in Iraq. Hmmm, but that thought is too complex for you NED.

  13. Spudge_Boy says:

    #10

you can disagree all you want. Doesn’t make you right. Have you served yet? You don’t have an opinion concerning anything military until you have served. Have you served yet? Better yet, have you served during wartime?

No, then don’t tell me what it’s like or pretend you know how an enlisted soldier feels.

  14. The Northeast Dilemma says:

Jeremy – John Kerry was working for the troops when he trashed them back in 1971? Dick Durbin was pro-troop when he compared them to Nazis?

Whether or not you think Iraq was a threat has nothing to do with your argument. Democrats and their supporters have been willing to show the troops in the worst light to gain political points. That, my friend, is why you are the minority party.

AND YES Jeremy, anti-Ameircan folk like yourself hope and pray we lose so you can embarass the President.

  15. The Northeast Dilemma says:

Spudge – I can have an opinion about the war and not serve. I support the troops and their efforts and I don’t slander them like you people do.

  16. Spudge_Boy says:

We don’t slander the god damn troops you stupid fvcking piece of sh!t. We slander your moronic leader. We slander the illegal war your president got our troops involved in. I was in the military. I support our troops more than you ever will. I don’t support the lies. I slander republicans. Get you facts straight you fvcktard.

you can try and spread your lies, but they don’t hold water here and neither do you.

Di you sign up yet? No, then STFU.

  17. The Northeast Dilemma says:

Spudge – if supporting the troops is comparing them to Nazis and accusing them war crimes, you’re a real supporter. You are not in the military and stop pretending you are. LIAR

  18. Jeremy says:

“Democrats and their supporters have been willing to show the troops in the worst light to gain political points.”

    Evidence?

“AND YES Jeremy, anti-Ameircan folk like yourself hope and pray we lose so you can embarass the President.”

    Evidence?

If you don’t have concrete evidence for this, then your just spewing opinion. And here at TP, we only deal with facts.

    Sorry.

  19. Jane E. Schneider says:

And NED, do you really think that this administration is supporting the troops by NOT providing the equipment that they need? By having a multi-million dollar no-bid contract to feed them rotten food, which happened at the start? By not providing enough troops to do the job as General Shinseki (SP?) advised them? By cutting their VA benefits when they’re injured and sent home? SpudgeBoy is right-STFU!

  20. Spudge_Boy says:

    #17

I dare you, to find a post where I have called our troops Nazis or accused them of war crimes. The only Nazis I see are the republican leaders and the only war crimes have been committed by Bush and friends.

You are full of sh!t. Find the post. Find one post where I have said what you accuse me of saying. Find it. You won’t because I haven’t LIAR.

    Did you enlist yet. Chickenhawk.

  21. Jeremy says:

    Support our troops…

    Bring them home.

  22. Spudge_Boy says:

    Support our troops:

Get them the number of cohorts needed to win this thing.

Stop starting new wars until we have finished the ones we have already started.

Get them the armor they need to not get killed.

Stop cutting their VA benifits for when they come home missing limbs.

That would be supporting the troops NeD. But, since you guys don’t want to do that. Then the only other solution is.

    Bring our troops home.

  23. Wayne A. Schneider says:

Give it up, NED. Spudge is right.

Besides, it was the non-military CIA types who were committing the atrocities that made Senator Durbin wonder (aloud) if these things were being done by Nazis. None of us on the left have ever called the troops “Nazis.”

We are 100% behind the men and women of our Armed Forces who are risking their lives because of a war that a bunch of chickenhawks wanted from the first days of their power. We are against those in the administration who felt it necessary to lie, distort, manipulate, and fabricate “evidence” in a despicable attempt to convince the American people that it was “necessary.”

While I was in the Air Force, I heard people criticizing my then-Commander-in-Chief Ronald Reagan, but I was smart enough (and our troops are, too) to know that it was his policies they didn’t like, not us. We never felt that criticism of Reagan meant criticism of us.

You must think those of us who served are too stupid to know the difference.

  24. Spudge_Boy says:

    #23

On the other thread mighty aphrodite just said “We are in WWIII.” So, the german Nazis started WWII and the American Nazis started WWIII.

And just to clarify for NeD. Troops don’t start wars. leaders do.

  25. Wayne A. Schneider says:

#24 You know, Spudge, they just don’t seem to be happy unless there is someone to kill. Threaten to end capital punishment and they go bonkers. Threaten to take away guns and they go ape-shit. Threaten to make it a crime to torture and kill people merely suspected (not proven) of having terrorist ties, and they say you’re un-American and say that you should be killed. I tell you, they just aren’t happy unless you let them kill someone.

  26. Marie says:

    #3 and #5
I believe we can impeach for lies about the war, but greater than that we can impeach for war crimes committed during the war.
If we impeach for the lies to go to war in the first place, we imply that if WMD had been found, a pre-emptive war would have been OK. If we impeach for waging war without an imminent threat; for violations against the Geneva Convention; these reasons in addition to lying about the pre-debunked intelligence seems like a good case for impeachment, at the least!

  27. Susan says:

It doesn’t really matter if Ed gets his air time.

There are two types of soldiers in Iraq..

    1. The ones (majority) that know they were lied to.

    2. The ones who love to torture and kill. (Their only reason for being in the military is because they are convicted criminals who were given a choice of jail time or the military)

Ed’s doesn’t need or want number 2’s support.

    He already has 1’s support.

  28. Wayne A. Schneider says:

#26 Marie, we can also impeach for diverting $700,000,000 that Congress authorized for the war in Afghanistan to begin planning the invasion of Iraq (without Congressional approval.) This is a violation of his Oath of Office. (Both the President AND the Vice President.)

  29. Jane E. Schneider says:

3, 5 & 26: We can impeach for Bushie taking money and troops out of Afghanistan and using them in Iraq during the run-up to the invasion. Bush doesn’t have the right to appropriate money without Congress’s permission.

  30. Susan says:

NED, get your ass to Iraq already you sissy. We’re sick of hearing your constant whining. You will get great satisfaction from killing babies and torturing people so go and shut your chickenhawk mouth (beak).

You are useless, you serve no purpose NED.

  31. Jane E. Schneider says:

Damn, I typed it too slow–Wayne beat me to it!

  32. Marie says:

I wonder what NED would tell to the soldiers who believe they were sent to war on a lie and their CiC has no plans to get them out of there. I wonder what NED would tell those soldiers when they finally get home — would he say we didn’t want you to know the facts because it would make you feel bad.

  33. Marie says:

#16 SB, Thanks for telling off that talking-points robot who has no brain.

  34. Susan says:

If NED went to Iraq (which he won’t because he’s a sissy) he wouldn’t last a day. Friendly fire would catch his ass so fast he wouldn’t know what hit him.

  35. Spudge_Boy says:

    #33

These people are amazing. Do they actually think that some day we’ll all just go “You know what? We should all be republican zombies too. We should support torture and tax breaks for the rich.”

It’ll never happen. Why do they bother.

  36. Ryan Neat says:

Isn’t the world of they pscyhotic fascist nazi ned bizarre? He prefers lies over truth, and believes having an illegal war that kills 2000 innocent americans, and wounds 10s of thousands of innocent americans as supporting the troops. And in his bizarre world, those who work to bring those innocent troops home he accuses of not supporting the troops. In the pathological psychotic world of republicanism, republicans believe that killing troops is supporting them, and saving the lives of troops is betraying them.

These guys are just evil freaks. But then again, any ahole who doesn’t have a problem with torture is inherently whacko.

  37. Susan says:

I agree Ryan, NED and his multiple personalities are certifiable. They are all that Bushie has.

We better start raising funds for more state run mental institutes. When the neocon chickenhawk freaks get a dose of reality (Bushie impeachment) NED and his criminally insane personalities are going to need long term housing and care.

  38. Ryan Neat says:

More than 1 in 4 americans suffer from mental illness at some point in their lives – funny how that number corresponds to the number of hardcore republicans are in the country…

  39. Susan says:

Did you know that since Bushie stole office the suicide rate exceeded the murder rate in America?

  40. FOADL says:

    #39

I would like to see some data to support that claim please.

  41. FOADL says:

I don’t have a problem with letting Ed on the radio. This is a free country and to deny him his due would not be right. Really, he is the most professional on air personality that AAR has. Of course, no one in the military will actually listen to him though and after about six months he will be replaced by the Carribean channel or something like it.

  42. Susan says:

FOADL, when you enlist in the military I will give the data you requested. Until then, you are not worth my time or attention.

  43. SpudgeBoy says:

    #41

    Nice flip flop:

“I don’t have a problem with letting Ed on the radio. This is a free country and to deny him his due would not be right. Really, he is the most professional on air personality that AAR has. Of course, no one in the military will actually listen to him though and after about six months he will be replaced by the Carribean channel or something like it.”

I like Ed, I hate Ed.

Go see a doctor. You have a problem. If you get it fixed, maybe you can become a productive member of society.

  44. Susan says:

Thanks Ryan. My stats come from the L.A. County Medical Examiners Office. They correlate the national figures.

I’m sure ol TOADL has heard that the murder rate in AMerica is down for sure. THe media is quick to report it. They simply exclude the suicide rate.

The war (returning soldiers),depression and the Terry Shaivo case is the leading cause for suicide. The soldiers cant cope when they get home. The sick refuse to allow the govt to intervene in their deaths.

  45. dino says:

NeD, Kerry did not trash the troops – you LIE. He repeated accounts of attrocities that were commited by SOME deranged members of our armed forces. These attrocities are well documented. Stating truth is not trashing; you nitwit. You are trashing by your lies. Durbin never trashed our soldiers you moron. He repeated accounts of treament of prisoners in Guatanomo that did in fact sound like what a reasonable person may liken to how the Nazi’s treated their prisoners. These events occured, and yes it was US personnel that did these deeds. We are better than that – and you are an idiot if you think your spew gets any traction here. We know better.

  46. Jeremy says:

#46 – Well after all, NED and others like her are the ones who think speaking out agaist the war is the same as wanting to “lose” the war, LOL.

    What lunatic psychopaths.
