  1. Peace Lover Says:

Alright then, I’m moving to Dover.

  2. Chris in AZ Says:

“I’d like to say to the evil right wing of the US, when your party falls on its face, don’t turn to the left, you reject us from your country.”

(not trying to make any unjust comparisons between mortals and religious figureheads)

  3. bill d Says:

Clearly Pat Robertson has aligned himself with Satan and is at war against everything that Jesus believed in. Also, he is batshit insane and irrelevant.

  4. Zippy Says:

And I’d like to say to Mr. Roberts: if you are rejected from Heaven because you make a mockery of all that God represents, please do not be surprised.

  5. Lesly Says:

Wait, back up a moment. I thought intelligent design wasn’t about creationism and God. Does Robertson have the inside scoop on how what it really is? :>

  6. Chris in AZ Says:

if there was no evolution how the hell did this country get so f*cked up??!!

  7. daGUY Says:

“And don’t wonder why He hasn’t helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I’m not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that’s the case, don’t ask for His help because he might not be there,” he said.

What an idiot. He just covered all the bases. Either something will happen or something won’t. If it doesn’t, he can claim he never said they would definitively; if it does, then he can say “I told you so” and “prove” that he was right.

  8. Bei Says:

Robertson thinking that he can speak on behalf of God and determining how His judgement will be applied is more of an insult to God than anything that went on in Dover.

Plus, as was mentioned, he’s batshit insane.

  9. Spudge_Boy Says:

    Mr. Robertson,

You do not pray to any God that is represented in the Bible that I read. You cause one group of people to hate another. Jesus didn’t like hate. You call for the assasination of a foreign official. Jesus didn’t like killing. You are a very rich clergy men. Jesus kicked you people out of the temple.

You Mr Robertson do not represent any religion I know of.

  10. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

    Yeah.
    Definitely batshit insane.
    Definitely.

  11. Albert Says:

They still have churches Pat. They did not reject God. Science is the study of the natural aspects of the world. You inject the supernatural to the detriment of our children’s understanding of the world they are in. Next you will be calling for God to be represented in our math classes? Logic? “Godel and Cantor are spreading secular-humanist lies!”

  12. damn :/ Says:

It’s guys like this that affirm my past decision to reject my upbringing and NOT practice the Christian religion. Not with a jackass like this at the supposed ‘helm’ of their religious leadership.
The other sad fact is that if I went back to my childhood church and asked almost anyone about Pat Roberts, odds are they would think favorably of him. I don’t know if it’s because of the typical ‘mindless sheep/follow the leader’ mentality that a lot of Christians seem to fall for or a lack of backbone to actually speak out when someone make a jackass comment like this, but that’s exactly why I no longer count myself among their ranks.
If I were still a member of the Christian religious community, I’d be even more pissed at this guy. He’s really making them look bad, and I would think someone would write an open letter to him telling him to keep his crack-brained opinions to himself and stop embarassing the entire religion.

  13. Punchy Says:

#6–Nice! Yeah, I too thought ID was about “scientific exploration of the supernatural explanation of the world’s beginning BUT NOT OF GOD OR GOD-LIKE THINGS”…

I’ve feel hoodwinked. Bamboozled. Headfaked. All this time…to think ID WAS connected to God after all…Pat, you sneaky bastard, you.

Whatever website specializes in selling real-estate to atheists, please put Dover on the front page…I just can’t stop laughing at these fools…

  14. snookered Says:

Had his God cared so much, or was really able too, he would have provided the outcome that he wanted. How can such men think people are so stupid. If his God can “do it all” then why all the bad outcomes, why the killing, hate and sorrow?
I guess it is only “God’s will” when Pat and his bretheren find it politically useful.

  15. Zookeeper Says:

    #2 - Me too.
#11 - Ditto. I would raise you another definitely, and a monkeyf*ck insane.

  16. Pete Bogs Says:

I can’t believe this prick is opening his yap again… again with the doom and gloom… assassinate Chavez, blow away Orlando, etc.

    he’s a dangerous fellow…

  17. Pete Bogs Says:

to Pat Robertson and the good people at 700 Club I say this: when God was handing out brains, he skipped y’all mofos…

  18. Jesus Christ God of WAR Says:

Is this the best the konservative kristians can produce? Well then, here’s our arguement against “intellegent design”.

    Wack-jobs. All of them.

  19. Chris in AZ Says:

have we all seen over the years, how much tighter Pat Robertson squeezes his eyes when he talks…is he trying to block out more of the reality surrounding him?

  20. Canadian Bystander Says:

But wouldn’t God be causing the disaster, too?

Just kidding - Robertson et al haven”t got the first clue as to the nature of the divine, in general, or as specifically outlined in the Bible.

They are NOT spiritual leaders - they are cultural and political leaders. That’s all.

  21. AmrcnWmn Says:

Don’t Blame Pat he needs to make a living too. The Scarey thing is that he is making a living off our relatives and neighbors!!!

I can tell you this. In his words “GOD” Does not equal Jesus the Christ.

  22. Ringo Says:

Does anybody listen to him anymore? Shouldn’t he be attacking some cartoon character or puppet right now for being “gay?” Seriously, the man is a lunatic.

  23. TJM Says:

Robertson makes a living?!? He makes a great living and has for years on the gullibility of his audience. He also founded the ACLJ and his scion Jay Sekulow is on Fox News more than he is. What makes me amazed is that they get air time on the cable news channels. Those poor producers must be just desperate to put talking heads on the air, even if ones like Pat are certifiable. And don’t forget the ACLU filed this suit, no wonder Pat had to comment, his lawyers lost and in his eyes that mean his god lost

  24. kindness Says:

So other than the Corporate Christ, what christians does Robertson think he’s representing? None of the stuff he spouts was taught in my church growing up.

Now if we can get the good folks in Kansas to follow the great people of Dover’s lead to VOTE OUT THEIR EDUCATION BOARD, the US will be safe until the next Christian Talibahn assault. Till then at least….Remember Kansas, if you don’t vote out your orthodix extremists, you will be visited by hords of liberals and gays and pagans and ,Oh My God NO!, catholics…… A plague upon them…

  25. themissingPproject Says:

Didn’t Pat used to sell cars? or was it insurance? Surey snake oil?

Where’d the P go? Vote for Resident Bush!

    http://www.geocities.com/themissingPproject

  26. T.J. Says:

His blue haired, old bag viewers are going to take this loss hard. Time to hit them up again for their pensions and SS $, or face the wrath of an angry God and his tag teamate Jesus .

  27. RunningDogLackey Says:

But what will the people of Dover do NOW? They’ve been cast out from the fellowship of Christ! The sacrament will turn to flame in their mouths! Their women will be barren. Their children will be smitten with nameless afflictions. AAA will take HOURS to arrive, even if they are members. The food they prepare in their microwaves will lack flavor and sweetness, and their favorite sitcoms on UPN will be canceled mid-season.

HERETICS! BLASPHEMERS! THEY ARE NOT ONE WITH LANDRU!

  28. TonyC Says:

I don’t know why ole Pat’s getting his knee-length boxers in such a knot, there’s already hundreds of thousands of schools where Intelligent Design is not only taught but embraced…

    They’re called “Sunday Schools!”

  29. Darin Says:

    It’s official, Robertson is insane.

  30. NonNeoCon Says:

It’s VERY scary that these are the kind of people who put “crusaders” like Bush and Cheney in office by outnumbering us. It’s also ironic that Rush (drughead) Limbaugh refers to liberal democrats as the ones who need to go drink the “kool aid” when it’s members of his OWN party that most resemble Jim Jones and company.

Would someone PLEASE tell Mr. Robertson that GOD is NOT a “boogy man” that works for the RNC………LOL

  31. Ringo Says:

#30: Right on! Why should public schools have to take on religious teachings on top of everything else. I learned intelligent design in my Sunday school, and evolution in public school. Evolution won out, of course.

  32. Fred Says:

How could the Intelligent Designer have such a glitch in his program that the enlightened ones would be less than 1% of the world’s population?

  33. morgan Says:

Maybe the theory of evolution is wrong? How could millions of years of evolution produce such an utter waste of biomass as Robertson. OTOH, intelligent design is to Robertson as ethic leadership is to BushCo - anathema.

  34. T.J. Says:

“GOD THE PUNISHER” coming to theater near you.
    Watch Dover get theirs.
    Premiers NOV 23rd.
    A neocon production.

  35. God Says:

Memo to Robertson: Remember my commandment not to take my name in vain? Remember my commandment about idolatry? You in big trouble now, brother.

  36. AvengingAngel Says:

One of most ironic - and enjoyable - side stories of the CIA Leak/PlameGate investigation has been the discovery of Lewis “Scooter” Libby’s trashy 2001 novel, “The Apprentice.”

As the New Yorker describes at length, Libby, the right-hand man for staunchly conservative Vice President Dick Cheney, seemed quite comfortable writing about prostitution, deviant sexual acts and bestiality in his bizarre coming of age tale set in 1903 Japan. No doubt Libby’s “man-on-deer” and “bear-on-girl” forbidden love scenes would make Rick Santorum and friends cringe.

As it turns out, poorly crafted, soft-core pornography seems to be quite the cottage industry among America’s conservative chattering classes. Much to the dismay of the family values merchants in the American Taliban, Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly (”Those Who Trespass” - 1998) and Second Lady Lynne Cheney (”Sisters” - 1981) also write - as well as talk - trash. And speaking of conservative … um… mouthpieces, who could forget male escort turned White House press stooge turned blogger, Jeff Gannon?

“Hard Liners, Soft Porn: The Perverse Prose and Titillating Text of Team Bush”

  37. Left coast Mike Says:

Fair is fair. I think evolution should be taught in church. How about that Pat?

  38. maithunaraja Says:

    Pat Robertson speaks for God?

    ROTFLMAO!

That ignorant SOB knows nothing about the poltical, social, economic, or religious environment in which `The Bible’ was created.

If Jesus were to come today, Pat Robertson could not even say hello to Jesus in Aramaic.

Pat Robertson is illiterate and knowns not one word of Arabic, Aramaic, Syriac, Greek, Hebrew, Latin etc.

  39. fatguy Says:

Do you think he will send in his own suicide bomber to try to make a point?

  40. Dimsdale Says:

Robertson and the mob are now both in the protection business.
Y’know accidents have a way happening wink, wink, say no more.

  41. nowar Says:

Pat Robertsons harangs are a sad commentary on the intelligence of the american public. Can you imagine leadership basing their moves on the values and utterings of this fool.
    We do..
    “God’s gonna get for that.”

  42. Erik Weinberger Says:

Pat Robertson..where to begin..This hate-filled psychopath needs to learn what most already know: He is not going to heaven where he thinks

  43. The Fly-man Says:

Here is my goofy take: Didn’t this intelligent design idea come to a full boil right around the time the space guys were talking about water possibly being on Mars?
This seems to me to be a good cover to keep all the faithful from having to trade in their old ministers for new ones. Pat gives some great military briefings but not quite as entertaining as Hal Lindsey.

  44. War4Sale Says:

I’m just glad he didn’t advocate assassinating any of the Dover parents who opposed ID. That Pat has “evolved” from the position of wanton murder is somewhat encouraging!

  45. hardass Says:

You all missing the point , Pat Robertson is GOD . the good citizens of Kansas will TREEEMBBLE in fear of pat robertson when they vote next year to unseat the 4 ignoramus that favored unintelligent design .

  46. FrankZ Says:

Tax the churches! Tax the f**k out of the churches!

  47. David B Says:

    Mr. Robertson,
    1) The good and wise people of Dover just taught you the first precept of evolution…rejection of a bad system causing failure in favor of changes that will move you forward.
    2) 98% of the creatures that were ever on the planet are now extinct, so I guess the design was not very intellegent.
    3) Thank god you failed in the presidential primaries when you tried otherwise we’d all be riding around today in covered wagons.

  48. Curtis Says:

Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson is a fool, But the bigger fools are the ones who follow him. Organized religion is in bed with money, Money is their master, and those who take up with them are fools!

  49. God Says:

Pat Robertson, I am getting mighty damn tired of you telling me what to do.

  50. Marie Says:

Robertson must be the anti-Christ. He and his followers all should climb a mountain and wait for the rapture to whisk them away. There is no logical reason why this man remains on TV, or why anyone pays him any attention.

  51. Squirrel Says:

People pay attention to people like Robertson and Falwell because they cannot think for themselves. They listen to these Holy Rollers so that they can focus their hate on whoever the target is of the day.

These people call themselves Christians? Gimme a break.

  52. JIMBO Says:

Back in the 80’s, Pat Robertson was for Apartheid in South Africa. He criticized those who were protesting against an unGodly system saying “They just don’t know anything about South Africa.” I read that quote in Jet Magazine.

So, no surprise that once again a so-called man of God would use God’s name to wish and do terrible things to free-thinking and peaceful individuals.

    He should burn in Hell.

  53. m reeves Says:

the ravings of an old fool

  54. Darth Filibustrous Says:

I wanna see Pat Robertson’s face when he learns he’s in hell, not heaven …

  55. MoreGooder Says:

Why is anyone here complaining about Pat’s ramblings? He’s doing more for us Liberals than we could ever do. The more he rants, the more rediculous his followers appear to the sane swing voters that ride the fence.

Recently, I accidently tuned in to the 700 club. Man, is it a freak show. Robertson was doing his normal praying to some phone caller, as if his prayers counted more than hers.

I wonder what the purpose is in squinting really hard when you pray. Does it somehow amplify your prayer? Someone please enlighten me.

  56. progressive and proud Says:

This is the ultimate neocon. It is clear that “intelligent” design is backdoor creationism. And you’re right MG, Pat is doing more for the liberal movement than anyone. He is utterly insane and clearly dangerous. I can’t believe people could take this creep seriously.

Trolls, yoo hoo, this guy is the epitomy of what you all stand for. He is your representative; what do you think about his comments?

  57. Jim Brodhead Says:

Pat Robertson’s very existence proves there is nothing to the theory of “intelligent design”.

  58. straitjacket Says:

The problem is that we don’t have to travel to Iraq to find hate-filled individuals who will threaten the use of democracy–we have it right here. So the question is, if inside America someone is threatening our freedom . . . what do we do? Why yes, I think it’s time to bring democracy to the 700 Club–I’ll definitely support that war plan.

  59. noodles Says:

#65 I can’t help but think that his squinting/praying face is the same as his masturbation face….. and don’t forget simultaneous spastic head shaking.

  60. Jeremy Says:

Watch Pat Robertson get sucked into a hurricane:

http://www.ebolaworld.com/mainpage.html - click on hurricane Katrina flash

  61. Jeremy Says:

Sorry, once inside, click on News Flash under the heading More New Stuff.

  62. Now I am become death Says:

I just wish Robertson would trim those long, flowing nose hairs! UCK!

  63. wisedup Says:

its the ‘god is gonna git ya’ again…oooooooo. Typical ‘fright peddler’ syndrome….yawn. Darwin is gonna git YOU pat, and turn you into a FROG! I feel sorry for sheep that follow this jerk.

  64. Bob Loblaw Says:

What Pat is rely saying is “if there is a disaster in your area, don’t turn to Bush, he has long rejected you as Americans.”

  65. Nova16 Says:

Pat Robertson is certifiably neurotic. Fundamentalists who believe that the religious should control the secular better research the annals of history. Then follow this academic pursuit with research into physics to learn the differences among myths, theories and fact. Anyone who says they know and understand God’s will and nature is a liar, deceiver, lout, clod and Bumpkin. The unknowable world of the supernatural is a matter of metaphysical mumbo-jumbo. If any have first hand knowledge of it as Robertson thinks he has the please enlighten us.

  66. Susan Says:

Like sane people would turn to God anyway….

  67. TAC Says:

San Francisco, Berkeley and Hollywood have been spared major disasters for a long time now, so, by defintion, God must approve of the alternate lifestyles being practiced there. Proof positive, no doubt about it. On the other hand, tornados have ravaged a number of bible-thumpin’ red states in recent years, and floods have ravaged certain Jesussy midwest states, proving that God disapproves of bible thumpin’.

On another note, I’m not well-versed on the Jesus fantasy book (aka bible), but I’m pretty sure it confirms that Satan works in devious ways. Robertson, as one who promotes assassination and supported Appartite, simply cannot be a true messenger of Jesussy stuff. Might the prick actually be a demon masquerading in a Jesussy personna in order to fool his flock of morons into Hell? Who would Jesus assassinate?

  68. Johnny Says:

Pat Robertson is to Christianity what Osama Bin Laden is to Islam.

  69. MoreGooder Says:

“#65 I can’t help but think that his squinting/praying face is the same as his masturbation face….. and don’t forget simultaneous spastic head shaking.
    Comment by noodles — November 11, 2005 @ 10:24 am ”

I haven’t thought of it that way B4. Do they only show him from the shoulders up when he “prays”? What’s he doing with his hands? Masterbation might be a more probably explanation for the squinting. It’s either plain old physical masterbation, or self-righteous megalomaniacle mental masterbation.

Take your pick. Personally, I think it’s the latter.

Yeah, the shaking head thing. Makes him look all tortured like he suffers constantly while trying to absorb all of the evils of the world. He suffers so. We should all pray for him, starting right….. now.

    (Squints)

  70. Andrew G. Says:

How can he say that the people of Dover are “good citizens” when they just voted out God?

    A freudian slip?
