No offense Marie, but I’m sure Clinton did the same thing at one point in his presidency. Presidents and their staff have a responsibility to attend functions like this in order to boost the spirits and support our country. It doesn’t matter that he’s never been in the service. I went to the Tomb when I was 12 and two classmates laid a wreath at the tomb. They had never been in the service.
Don’t call me a right wing troll either. I’ll admit Cheney is a hypocrite and probably doesn’t give too hoots about the serviceman in Iraq. Just as long as his Halliburton stock options increase in value. “Oh I’m donating them to charity.” Do it already. I’m sure if he get’s impeached, he’ll feel no obligation to donate them to charity. It’s blood money, plain and simple.
#3 You are right, Cheney does not care about the vets. He is a total hypocrite just like old Bushie. We need to take our America back and impeach Bushie, Cheney and his admin.
as a progressive vietnam veteran, i am glad to see a site like this… every time i see a “veterans for bush” bumper sticker, i just shake my head… what were they thinking…?
i posted a personal veterans day memoir on my site from the perspective of a va hospital, always a place to get firmly grounded in reality…
While certainly never having served as you did, I always have the same thought when I see those stickers. Bush&Co. have messed with Veterans in so many ways, that I can’t believe these guys support him.
And it’s 1 2 3, what are we fightin for? Don’t ask me I don’t give a damn! Oh it’s all
about the oil, OIL OIL OIL, You get the Idea. Oil men only care about oil.
My 2 cents.
How can Cheney stand by the tomb of the unknown Soldier? This guy has never been in the service.

November 11th, 2005 at 1:01 pmI loved the Yahoo News Headline from just a moment ago:
“Cheney lays wreath”.
My first thought was, gosh he’s talented. But then I realized that what Georgey Boy Bush asked him for was not a wreath but a golden egg.
These bozos care not a whit for veterans. Bush/Cheney had and still have “other priorities”.
