Seriously, banning military recruiting in public schools does not seem unreasonable to me. It is not as if they don’t have other places to meet potential recruits. Every county or state fair I’ve been to has had recruiters at it. Every parade has a display. Some of the local malls have large recruitment offices… Why can’t they hold their own events to meet recruits… “It’s like a big party… With recruiters!” “Join the army, it’s just like this club… but with guns!”

November 11th, 2005 at 11:39 amone of the problems with military recruiting in schools is that there is typically no group with an opposing viewpoint allowed on campus to talk to the students… and, of course, the recruiters will emphasize the positive aspects of service and gloss over the negative, so students won’t know exactly what they’re getting into…
also, we treats kids like kids when it comes to privileges, yet treat them like adults when we want something from them… cigarette companies can’t solicit customers from people who are too young to smoke; why can the military sign up people who aren’t old enough to be in the military?

These bastards knew way ahead of time that schools would start banning recruiters to feed children to their illegal war, so they buried this section way down in No Child Left Behind.
It is intersting that Bill O’Rielly didn’t mention this. He either doesn’t know or he knows that it would look bad if people found out that this was in No Child Left Behind.
