Spending bill defeat historic:

By Nico Pitney on Nov 17th, 2005 at 6:19 pm

Spending bill defeat historic:

“Many members said the bill’s defeat, by 224 to 209 votes, was the first rejection of an appropriation measure they could recall since Republicans assumed House control in 1995. The loss left the leadership uncertain whether to bring up another budget measure, which calls for $50 billion in cuts over five years.”

I believe we are witnessing the age of the so-called “Citizen Journalist”. Maybe we are on the edge of ridding congress of ALL the crooks. Both sides. They can’t hide behind their stooge journalists anymore!

    “Both sides.”

Exactly. The trolls that come here think we will back up the corrupt democrats. I am all for investigating everybody. Find out who has done what illegaly and get rid of them.

This whole “You know when a politicain is lying is when their mouth is moving” era has to end. These people are supposed to be leaders, people we can look up to. People that we would want to be like.

There are only a few people in Government that I would want to be compared to. Most are either coorupt or spineless. I don’t want to be either.

Why can’t someone like Levin or Conyers be president?
They aren’t pretty enough? I know Levin is Jewish, and I am anti-Israel, so in my own position it does not add up.
But I see the concern and genuine love of America on their faces. I don’t see it with Kerry, Bush or the other Clinton.

  8. Susan says:

Hey, my Senator is listening to me. Impeachment is on the discussion table…….

    Dear Susan:

Thank you for letting me know of your support for impeaching President
    Bush.

I share many of your frustrations about the Administration’s actions
regarding Iraq. I have strongly disagreed with the Bush
    Administration’s
policies toward Iraq, as well as its unilateralist approach to U.S.
foreign policy overall, and I have not hesitated to express my
    objections.
It is clear that the main reasons offered for going to war with Iraq -–
that its possession of weapons of mass destruction and close ties to
global terrorist groups represented an imminent threat to the United
States -– were gross exaggerations. The American people deserve a
complete, thorough, and honest answer to the questions that have arisen
regarding the development and use of intelligence information,
    including
the extent to which intelligence may have been misused by Executive
    Branch
policymakers. It is imperative that we understand why pre-war claims
proved so wrong, and those responsible for these failures should be
    held
    accountable.

Removal of the President, Vice President and federal civil officers by
impeachment is one of the most serious constitutional responsibilities
granted to the Congress. The House of Representatives has the
constitutional authority to determine whether to impeach and to draft
articles of impeachment. Should the House vote to impeach and specify
    the
grounds upon which impeachment is based, the matter is then presented
    to
the Senate for trial. While no resolution to impeach President Bush
    has
been introduced in the House of Representatives, you can be sure that I
will continue to call for answers to the important questions
    surrounding
the Bush Administration’s policies toward Iraq.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact me. Please feel free
    to
    stay in touch.
    Sincerely,

    Richard J. Durbin
    United States Senator

The wingnuts have been completely castrated.

GOP moderates and Dems are uniting to stem the bleeding from the reich wing’s attack on America.

#8, Susan, sounds very familiar to what I received from my Senator Corzine (just recently Governor-Elect for NJ). Hope we get another good Dem in 2006.

  13. Ryan Neat says:

Tax Cuts for the wealthy and corporate america are stupid. Corporate tax rates are the lowest they’ve been since the 30s when we were in the great depression – not a coincidence. Low corporate and high income bracket tax rates puts the burden of taxes on the middle class and poor. Not only does this destroy the general economy, it destroy’s the nation’s tax base.

It’s just insanely bad management, or should I say completely insane mismanagement on the scale of Enron (another republican fiasco!).
