Oh yes. Mr “Whackos”. I’ll have you know I spent an entire evening emailing Sugarland churches the statements by Scanlon concerning “Whacko Christians”.
Keep ‘em coming. This house of cards is coming down and the republicans are starting to realize it. They are starting to distance themselves from Bush and friends, because they know what’s coming next.
Okay! So it looks like Abramoff’s next, and the combinatin of these two, Scanlon and Abramoff, doesn’t bode well for good old Tom Delay! By the way, have they settled on a judge and a trial date yet for the Hammer?
In any judicial proceeding, you can object to the judge if there is information indicating bias. It’s very vague. The first judge made financial contributions to a website that criticzed Hand Tool, so he objected. Then it went to a Republican judge, who recused himself, then it went to another Republican judge, who then sent it to an associate judge (the Democrat). Since there was no record of the final judge giving to any organizations who hated Hand Tool, that’s where the fight ended.
Gets even better – Roll Call is reporting that Scanlon has rolled over and wants to play:
“Michael Scanlon has agreed to testify against one-time business partner Jack Abramoff in any future criminal case involving the ex-lobbying superstar.
The Justice Department has filed a “criminal information†document in federal court related to Scanlon, and there will be a hearing before a federal judge Monday afternoon.
At that time, Scanlon is expected to plead guilty to one felony count of conspiracy. Scanlon, a former aide to Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas), would then testify against Abramoff and anyone else indicted in the case, according to Justice Department sources.”
[...] Not only has Mike Scanlon been charged with conspiring to defraud Native American tribes, but he appears to have reached a plea agreement: The Justice Department has filed a “criminal information†document in federal court related to Scanlon, and there will be a hearing before a federal judge Monday afternoon. Its about TIME!

November 18th, 2005 at 1:58 pmI don’t think there is a trial date yet, but Hand Tool’s case is going to be handled by Judge Priest (no kidding), a Democrat. He’s retired.
Apparently, it’ll stay with him.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:08 pmHow come Tom Delay could get another judge? I guess when you have money any thing goes.
