“Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said in court filings that the ongoing CIA leak investigation will involve proceedings before a new grand jury, a possible sign he could seek new charges in the case. In filings obtained by Reuters on Friday, Fitzgerald said “the investigation is continuing” and that “the investigation will involve proceedings before a different grand jury…” (Via Atrios)
Well, I guess that settles the question of whether a new grand jury has been enpaneled. Not yet… But soon.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:19 pmUmm, a little late, I think. Didn’t we know this weeks ago when he said in the press conference that he was getting a new grand jury?
November 18th, 2005 at 12:19 pmhave a holly jolly Fitzmas… and in case you didn’t hear, we’ll have many more presents to look for next year…
November 18th, 2005 at 12:20 pmIt’s over on Yahoo too:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051118/pl_nm/bush_leak_dc
Interesting part for me is “…Fitzgerald’s comments about bringing proceedings before a different grand jury were contained in court filings in which he backed off seeking a blanket order to keep all documents in the CIA leak case secret.”
I wonder what this could mean?
November 18th, 2005 at 12:20 pmThis is a witch hunt. Fitz is trying to criminalize politics and journalism – the perfect fascist. Of course, liberals love him.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:22 pmWhat is a liberal?
November 18th, 2005 at 12:28 pmNED, if by “witch” you mean “corrupt and law-breaking politicians” and by “criminalize” you mean “convicting and punishing those who break the law”, you’re exactly right.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:29 pmYou think Woody wants to take back that “junkyard dog” slander?
November 18th, 2005 at 12:40 pmNED,
The “Criminalizing of Politics” soundbyte has been dead for a while. Next soundbyte please. Do you have any real original thoughts, or just the soundbytes you have taken on for your own?
November 18th, 2005 at 12:41 pmNED,
If something is done long enough and goes without consequences it becomes accepted. Criminal activity intertwined with politics has long been “accepted”.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:43 pmNED never responds to me, I must really know how to shut that person’s comments down.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:45 pmRun NED run.
Hurry move to another thread.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:46 pmNO ONE broke any law. Apparently, Scooter didn’t do anything more than what liberal icon Bob Woodward did.
The fact of the matter is, Joe Wilson used his wife’s status to attack the Bush Admin and then LIED and said Cheney sent him. They had every right to note this. Woodward seems to understand this. The modern day liberals are fascists who are willing to give up freedom of the press to score points against Bush.
Fitzgerald obvioulsy can’t resist being the headline on ultra-communist Keith Olberman’s show every night. He makes Ken Starr look restrained.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:49 pm#10 – no crime was committed. Libby is alleged to have lied, not to have outed someone. But, he will be acquitted after he has a trial. Liberals have more sympathy for suspected terrorists than they do libby. It’s sick.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:50 pmThe trolls who post here drop a little bit of s**t and then run away. All they want is the attention. It’s all about them and who will give them what they want (attention).
What I find really funny is that the Greedy ‘Ol Parasites are getting all kinds of attention these days. And still they don’t realize just how blown their cover stories are. Makes them look, oh, pathetic. Ya. That’s it.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:51 pmNED,
Good job taking stab at a real thought.
I don’t think it’s up to you to determine who did or did not break any laws, that’s why we have law enforcemnt and a court system. However you did fall back on the buzzwords intended to manipulate.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:52 pmNED,
Your borrowing thoughts from Ms. Hutchenson, who later had to retract those thoughts.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:53 pmIt’s a little early to claim no crime was committed.
Trolls claiming “nothing to see here, move along” remind me of the editorials and TV comments made during the Nixon Administration just before the really important revelations that lead to that fool’s leaving the WhiteHouse.
The treason for revenge about Niger deal is far from over. But, it’s a free country and ReichWingNuts are free to believe whatever wacko story they choose.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:53 pmNED: “Fitzgerald obvioulsy can’t resist being the headline on ultra-communist Keith Olberman’s show every night. He makes Ken Starr look restrained.”
That is truly delusional.
I’m beginning to believe there is an alternate world – a twilight zone, if you will – in which NED is not willfully ignorant but actually correct. And somehow the internets between the two worlds are connected. This causes much confusion.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:54 pmYes, we are all free to be idiots, what glory that is.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:55 pmHe makes Ken Starr look restrained.
Wow. Before I thought you just some crank with obsession for “trolling” this site, but you are really divorced from reality. Statements like that prove it.
November 18th, 2005 at 12:55 pmHas anyone noticed that the arguments by the loyal Repubs consist mainly of buzzwords, soundbytes, and attempts to manipulate the issues? Any right wingers out there have anything to say that does not sound like a broken record of soundbytes?
November 18th, 2005 at 12:58 pmGo back to hard drinking, NeD.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:00 pmActually, Ann Occoulter has intelligent thoughts, yes she is sharp. The rights have to hold on tight to the few sharp ones they have. However, Ann’s intelligence makes her all the more SCARY. Like the intelligence of a sociopath.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:01 pmWhat’s pathetic is that they believe they are of some use at all. I’m sad for them that they have nothing else to do.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:02 pm#22 – This is why I remain amazed the the Greedy ‘Ol Parasites and their shrinking number of supporters haven’t changed their game plans. Rather, they stick to proven to be false jingoistic statements.
Jingoism may have worked in the past. It certainly worked during the run-up to the invasion of Iraq (thanks in part to Faux News and the “angry white male” supporters). But once people are educated to the reality of a situation they can wake up. And once awake, the old jingoism fails to work it’s tenuous magic.
Truth wins out over opinion and jingoism every time.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:04 pmI love shutting down the NEDster.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:06 pmNeD is anti-choice because the only way he could ever have children is if the girl that woke up next to him in the morning couldn’t get an abortion. Which is what most would do.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:07 pm“Uh, wait a minute, how come you hate your country, don’t you want be safe, killing babies is bad, terrorists are gonna get you, don’t you want to spread democracy, are you anti-american, your with us or against us”
I predict these will be the last words of the die hard Repubs.
But wait, there is still three more years to have another terrorist attack and scare everyone back onto line.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:14 pm…and then glub, glub, glub and tiny bubbles on the surface.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:16 pm“Had he not tried to exploit his wife’s position to attack the Admin, she would have never been outed.â€
“I wish the GOP was stealing elections”
-Northeast Dilemma
November 18th, 2005 at 1:17 pmActually,
If all the hard line Repubs would jump into the LaBrea tar pits, decay for a while, we would have a new undiscoverd source of oil. Yay.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:18 pmPP – just because I don’t take joy out of partially delivering babies before sucking their brains out, does not make me anti-choice. It makes me human.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:20 pmThat comment by NED in #31, I did read on Ann Coulter’s website. Yes I do read all the sides, it keeps me well informed and ready to shut down the NEDs.
Know thy enemy. Not somthing the current admim beleives in.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:20 pm“Fitz is trying to criminalize politics and journalism – the perfect fascist.” – The Northeast Dilemma
Look! The little attack doggie has no teeth! Woof, woof, little doogie. Now run along, tiny man…..
November 18th, 2005 at 1:21 pmRepublicans always claim to be human, but their torture chambers, use of chemical weapons, murdering of innocent prisoners and oppression of entire populations undermines that claim…
November 18th, 2005 at 1:22 pmAh yes, the old standby: “BABY KILLER! POROGRAPHER!”
November 18th, 2005 at 1:25 pmYou’re a joke NED. And quit jekin’ off so much before you run out of potential NEDs.
#13
Yawwwwwnnnnnnn. Man reading the same thing over and over from you gets boring.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:25 pmThe baby argument is from Ann Coulter. It is hypocritical, and manipulative using the emotionally charged wording describing a very small number of abortions.
“We believe in the sanctity of life at all stages, now get me some more ammo here”
NED,
What would you do if you did have Ann Coulter’s material to draw from?
November 18th, 2005 at 1:25 pmI heard recently that the Pope, John Paul II, held on as long as he could because he feared the frat-boy George the Dumber might be the anti-Christ.
I don’t have an attribution for the comment. But if it’s true, that’d put to rest any WingNutWackJob’s feelings that their Sainted Leader is human. And I’m sure Satan Himself would say he was human. Even if it weren’t true.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:27 pmEnding abortion does not fit into any party platform. However, ending the NEED for it falls to the Democrats. How many babies have been aborted because of FDA?
November 18th, 2005 at 1:28 pmYou are either pro-choice or anti-choice.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:28 pmPro choice or anti choice does not adequately describe someone’s opinion about abortion. I am anti abortion/pro choice. That is the Democratic platform.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:31 pmSorry to head off on a strange riff. The Vatican even feels the ReichWingNuts are WackJobs.
“…The Rev. George Coyne, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, said placing intelligent design theory alongside that of evolution in school programs was “wrong” and was akin to mixing apples with oranges.
“Intelligent design isn’t science even though it pretends to be,” the ANSA news agency quoted Coyne as saying on the sidelines of a conference in Florence. “If you want to teach it in schools, intelligent design should be taught when religion or cultural history is taught, not science.”…”
from: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051118/ap_on_re_eu/vatican_evolution
November 18th, 2005 at 1:31 pmNED,
Every one of your defenses is easily shot down. If you really were “human” as you put it, not killing people would apply to people, not just American fetuses. So your selective about killing people?
I agree we should kill a person if they are a direct and imminent threat to our physical body. But NED you have supported the killing of thousands of people who are no threat at all whatsoever.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:33 pmNeD is scared of women. Only fear makes one hate. I sure wish these guys were schooled a little better.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:34 pmNEXT argument that won’t hold up NED.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:34 pmNED supports a sytem which has made schooling a joke.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:35 pm… so back to the basic question: What happens now that Fitzgerald has signaled he’s seating another Grand Jury? Will the materials from the first naturally be available to the second?
November 18th, 2005 at 1:37 pmLate term abortions are already controlled at the state level, and not by roe v. wade. That’s why the language coulter and other republicans use is so dishonest and immoral. It makes a false claim to support a legal outcome that will result in the same situation. After all, roe v. wade overturned would move the abortion question entirely back to the state, so the states that perform later term abortions could continue to do so.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:38 pmHopefully some Fitzmas magic will have Rove sharing a cell with Libby.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:39 pmNeD wishes he were as good looking as Fitz. What a tall cool glass of water he is!
November 18th, 2005 at 1:39 pmNow back to the point, since NED seems more afraid of fitzgerald than a republican in an SEC investigation!
Fitzgerald is going to do what he did with the NYC mob, pick them off one at a time, and use each of them to bring down the next.
This is a well established and effective technique, and it’s why republicans are now calling it a witch hunt. Because they know it will continue to embarrass and destroy them and all of their crooked politicians!
REPUBLICANS = CROOKS!
November 18th, 2005 at 1:40 pmLike I said before, Ryan – the only way NeD will have children is if women couldn’t get an abortion. Especially since he is in NYC where women don’t date men that look like that and have no education or money. The city chicks are VERY particular. Right NeD? There are too many choices in the Big Apple and I’ve met quite a few men who say they HATE City girls. Why? Because the City girls WILL NOT date them.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:45 pm“Oh yeah?! Well you only got…one…indictment…hmmm
yeah, well..You know what?! You’re just like Michael Moore! Fatso! HA!”
-Generic WH Spokesperson
November 18th, 2005 at 1:49 pmI wonder how the families of those babies who had their flesh melted off in Iraq with our Chemical WMDs would feel about NED’s Hypocrisy.
The charge to war illegally is going to eventually take down the entire republican party, and I for one say that day can’t be soon enough!
November 18th, 2005 at 1:50 pm#53 – Exactly what I was hoping would happen. Pick them off one at a time. This could reach the anti-Christ himself before this is done.
When I hear of Fitzgerald, I think of strong truth seekers from the past. There is good in the land.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:53 pmPP – either you kill babies or you don’t.
November 18th, 2005 at 1:59 pmHow can a murderer who kills a pregnant woman (example Scott Peterson) be tried and convicted on two counts of murder, one for the unborn child and a doctor who performs abortions. even late term ones, walks free everyday?
November 18th, 2005 at 2:07 pmIs it something in the air? Did someone put something in the water supply?
Or has troll IQ just dropped through the floor?
November 18th, 2005 at 2:07 pmWars kill Babies, Shouldn,t YOU be an Example and Call for an END to Baby Genocide, NED? END THE UNJUST AND ILLEGAL WAR!
November 18th, 2005 at 2:13 pmYes! By all means! I want our troops home tomorrow. Forget that they were killing the very terrorists would otherwise try to come to America and kill us. Yes, bring home the troops so we show Bush what a fool he is thinking he could actually defeat an enemy! Lets surrender now and all become Muslims. Thats what you want don’t you?
November 18th, 2005 at 2:17 pmRandy,
Because the ‘baby’ had been born and was found separate from the mother. Randy, NED, how can republicans be allowed to murder babies in Iraq with Chemical weapons and walk free? Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican!
November 18th, 2005 at 2:19 pmNED, abortion doesn’t kill babies, but you support a president who did exactly that with WMDs. A ‘baby’ has been born, a ‘fetus’ has not. So terminating a fetus is not killing a baby – but claiming that it is, is complete dishonesty. Republicans all appear to be dishonest, so this explains why you so freely lie and misrepresent every fact including this one.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:21 pmRandy,
The only reason the ‘terrorists’ are in Iraq, is because we invaded them illegally. The pentagon and the CIA have both admitted that our presence there has CREATED MORE TERRORISTS than existed before our arrival.
To quote dr phil, how’s that working for you? To continue a bad policy is the height of stupidity, perhaps that’s why republicans continue to bang their head against walls. STUPIDITY!
November 18th, 2005 at 2:23 pmRandy, 41% of Military jobs are unfilled. Why are you such a hypocrite, why aren’t you in Iraq right now?
November 18th, 2005 at 2:25 pmRyan,
You don’t believe that a fetus is alive? You are one sick and twisted individual! You need therapy and lots of it. You obviously are not a father and must be a lonely gay man. If you were a father, you would understand.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:25 pmAh, the glory of shallow thinking low IQ trolls.
Sure keeps the day “interesting”.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:29 pmBathroom mold is alive, but that doesn’t make it a baby.
Republicans don’t seem tend to understand science, math or even reality – idiots like you demonstrate why that is seen as true.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:41 pmWhy does every liberal that can’t win an argument about Iraq immediately suggest that you join up? If I was younger, dammit I would sign up because I would protect the freedoms in this country. I love my country but I don’t liberals do. They support our enemies more than this country. To support our troops means to help their enemy think we will just lay down arms and quit.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:43 pmRandy,
A ‘father’ has a baby, a fetus is not a baby, it’s a cluster of cells that if everything goes exactly right might become a baby. Scientifically one of your own skin cells could be turned into a baby, but that doesn’t mean your ‘alive’ skin cell is a baby.
As for your assumptions, they’re really amusing. See whackos who are afraid of women (like you) say the retarded things you do. How long have you been divorced?
November 18th, 2005 at 2:44 pmRyan,
I hope you know the difference between mold and a fetus, you retard. You can’t win this debate, just give it up.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:44 pmThey talk older men Randy, how old are you? The minimum age has been raised you know.
As for supporting the enemies, the evidence is against you wimpo. It was Rumsfeld who sold the WMDs to Iraq. It was Rumsfeld who created AlQueda.
Republicans ARE are enemy, they don’t JUST support them.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:46 pmRandy,
Obviously you don’t know the difference, because your outrageous claims are that mold is a baby… If you believe a clump of cells is a baby, then clearly you believe mold is a baby. Why are republicans always so whacko?
November 18th, 2005 at 2:47 pmRyan,
Somebody really did a job on your brain. You are really screwed up. What exactly would that cluster of cells become if not a baby? Liberals cling to the idea that they really aren’t killing a life through an abortion so they can sleep at night. Look at the suicide rate among those who have had abortions and tell me its lower.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:47 pmRandy,
You aren’t debating, you’re making the unscientific and outrageous claims that a child would to stay up late. To have a debate, one must have a basis to debate from – and you’ve got nothing other than ridiculous claims, superstition and whacko ideas that are just stupid and kind of amusing…
Hey everyone Randy thinks bathroom mold is a baby!
November 18th, 2005 at 2:48 pmI have seen NED use the name Randy before.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:49 pmRyan,
No offense – but I have to get back to work – I actually have a job to do, unlike you, I don’t stay at home all day waiting for my boyfriend to come home from work.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:50 pmKiling a ‘life’, you mean like bathroom mold?
Alive has very scientific meaning you know. When you bake bread, you’re killing a life. Can you be more specific, your terminology is just showing ignorance and childishness.
As for a ‘messed up’ brain, you do realize that homophobia is a mental illness don’t you? You probably don’t know that religious zealousness is a symptom of schizophrenia – right?
See, it’s so funny how whacko lunatics like Randy who probably suffer from a host of REAL mental illnesses think everyone else is crazy…
Typical republicans, always projecting their own failures on everyone else…
November 18th, 2005 at 2:50 pmRandy,
How amusing. I worked all morning, and I probably contributed more to society today, than you will in your entire life. Keep dreaming loser, everything you believe you know is wrong…
November 18th, 2005 at 2:51 pmThe divorce must have been painful for you Randy, it explains why you hate women so much. You really need therapy, clearly you’re not a well man.
November 18th, 2005 at 2:52 pmFor Truth,
There are only like 3 actual trolls, I can tell by their use of grammar and language. They just change their aliases and put on their personnas and repeat the same stupid lies over and over again.
They must be REALLY lonely and stupid men to come to a blog with people they believe they hate and hang out. What psychotic freaks!
November 18th, 2005 at 2:54 pmForget that they were killing the very terrorists would otherwise try to come to America and kill us.
You mean like if 19 or so guys from a Middle Eastern coutry or two, or three, came over and flew planes into buildings? Funny, I don’t remember any of them being Iraqi. And, for the life of me, I don’t recall any Iraqi terrorism taking place ever in the US. But I do recall some guy from Saudi Arabia who we were supposed to “smoke out of his hole,” and bring ‘em back, “dead or alive.” Hmmm, who could that be, and why haven’t we found him in Iraq?
November 18th, 2005 at 2:57 pmRandy, or NED, Whoever.
I feel the abortion issue cannot be taken down to simple terms, black or white, right or wrong. It needs to be a case by case consideration. Like, only first term abortions where a certain set of circumstances come into play. The other issue which feeds the abortion problem is the conservative approach to sex. Conservatives refuse to acknowledge the hard-wired built in bioligical drive to reproduce. So it gets handled by telling people to abstain, bad idea. Also the way religion handles sex, no contraception is allowed in the most popular religion in the world. So we have people trying to follow the church, not using contraception, and getting unintended pregnancies. Just look at all the preist abuse cases, example of what telling people to abstain can do.
Preventing unwanted pregnancies is the way to go, by accepting how powerful the urge to reproduce is, and addressing it from that place.
Also, some say the abortion issue is about race. All the minorities have all the babies, and whites have all the abortions. Minorities will outnumber whites very soon. Whites are in power and want to keep it.
November 18th, 2005 at 3:01 pm#83 Good point, David,
And most of the 19 hijackers came into this country legally and from Saudi Arabia, where a special program was instituted by Republicans to allow Saudi citizens to get quicker visas. Now why would they do that…?
And let’s remember that Timothy McVeigh was both an American and a conservative. And conservatives like Ann Coulter defended what he did. (She said that her only regret was that he didn’t blow up the New York Times building, instead. His act of mass murder didn’t seem to bother her all that much.)
November 18th, 2005 at 3:04 pmRandy,
Any thoughts on #84. Not responding is what all you folks tend to do with my posts, unless there really is not that much of “all you folks”.
November 18th, 2005 at 3:09 pmbeep…beep..beep..beepbeepbeepbeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee….dick cheneys pacemaker
November 18th, 2005 at 3:27 pmTrolls attempting to force their Amerikan Taliban Theologies down peoples throats is pathetic!
None of their theology will ever change the fact that Fitzgerald is on to them and their sainted leaders. Treason is treason. Lying is lying. The wrong war remains the wrong war.
Here’s to hoping that Fitzgerald nails their a**es to the wall. He might even have to indict them for complete and willful arrogant stupidity.
November 18th, 2005 at 3:35 pmNED,
Jesus Christ. You speak about all this as if you know all the facts. “NO ONE broke any law”… “The fact of the matter is”…”no crime was committed”…
Clearly, there is reasonable cause to indict Libby. By definition then, there is reasonable doubt about his innocence. There is reasonable cause to investigate this entire matter, from point A to B. Therefore there is reasonable doubt about the innocence of others as well.
To state “NO ONE broke any law” etc., is ignorance, in its purist form. You don’t know what you don’t know, NED. To think or live otherwise is to live in ignorance and denial.
“I don’t know what I don’t know.”
November 18th, 2005 at 3:55 pmJCGOW, if only one COULD indict people for stupidity! Sounds like a plan to me!
Wisedup, thanks for the laugh.
For all of you arguing about abortion, please remember: no woman WANTS to have an abortion, ever. Circumstances (society, religion, lack of money,) force a lousy choice like that on a woman. So all of you anti-abortion fanatic Republicans, please write your representatives and have them push for the Plan B pill. I can’t understand why Republicans and NeoCons are against Plan B, as it would cut down on the number of abortions tremendously.
Now enough about freaking abortion!
November 18th, 2005 at 4:13 pmYou are so right, Jane. The wackos would think that women go about willy nilly having abortions at whim.
November 18th, 2005 at 6:35 pmA decision regarding aboriton is private, medical and personal. It is not taken lightly.
For the life of me I dont’ know why Plan B is not legal it is CONTRACEPTION – IT IS NOT AN ABORTIFACT.
They would ban abortions, then ban contraception. So the woman is subordinated. That is their goal.
But this is about Fitzgerald!
He will convene a new grand jury and it is my fervent hope that the evil Cheney is the kingfish being sought.
Woodward is a red herring, thrown into the pool by the leaker (Hadley)to throw the case off and take some heat off Libby, but Libby’s charges are not affected – they remain.
When Idiot NED accuses Fitzgerald of being on TV too much, he can’t distinguish between old film being replayed and the real thing. Fitz has avoided the press and that is why the press doesn’t like him – he gives them nothing.
NED needs his Ritalin — his hyperactivity is out of control.
Good bye Pug Party, good bye Pug Party
We’re glad to see you go! (in handcuffs)
November 19th, 2005 at 2:58 pm
