As a resident of Coastal Mississippi (Ocean Springs) with family members who work or worked in Long Beach I wonder what could have been done differently and how rebuilding can occur to where we do not lose all low income housing?

    Greetz Mr Daschle,
Glad to see your taking an Interest from the Publics Perspective. Having Relatives that lived in New Orleans it has come to My understanding that there are Guards keeping Individuals from Returning to their Homes, while their Homes are being Tagged With Eviction Notices etc. Surely you can See the Dire Dilemma this causes those?
Also Are their Any Plans to monitor or curtail the Use of Emminent Domain that will surely follow the Damage Areas?

Secondly,or thirdly Perhaps, I heard a report on TV, and Jotted it Down, that the Power to The Pump Stations had Gone out before the Major part of the Hurricane hit. Could you Elaborate on this as to why such important Pumps and Their Back-up Generators, if any, Failed?

    Thank You for your Time
    And Consideration –Aj

Today, I was fortunate to get an exclusive interview with ancient Chinese philosopher and curmudgeon, Lao Tzu. During our talk, we touched on the topic of elevating incompetent buffoons like Michael Brown to positions of grave responsibility and complexity. To see Lao Tzu’s response, look here.

    WhackoWallace,

What would you know about excitement, you’re the dullest troll who’s ever posted. Your arguments roll like a conversation with a homeless person.

This week Daschle, next week see a “conversation with Gary Hart” in our continuing series of “meet the defrocked”…

Three phrases should be among the most common in our daily usage. They are: Thank you, I am grateful and I appreciate.

I agree with you the way you view the issue. I remember Jack London once said everything positive has a negative side; everything negative has positive side. It is also interesting to see different viewpoints & learn useful things in the discussion.

It was quite useful reading, found some interesting details about this topic. Thanks….
