Whether we approve or disapprove of The United Nations, we as a country entered into a treaty, becoming a charter member of that organization. That, in turn means that The Charter of the United Nations, of which Americans were the primary writers, is also the law of the land. The United Nations charter expressly prohibits the use of or the threat of the use of military force against another sovereign nation unless in self defense after being attacked. Any other use of force against any nation requires the consent of the United Nations, which this war has not. So, in fact, this pre-emptive war not only is illegal by international law, but by American law as well. Unless, of course, The Constitution of the United States can be over-ridden by the Administrative branch of the U.S. Government. If that is truely the case, then I do not live in the nation governed by law and not by men that I thought I lived in.
