“The FBI has reopened an inquiry into one of the most intriguing aspects of the pre-Iraq war intelligence fiasco: how the Bush administration came to rely on forged documents linking Iraq to nuclear weapons materials as part of its justification for the invasion.”
Worst. Presidency. Ever.
Most corrupt, most conniving…and it goes SO muchdeeper than that Puppet-in-Chief mouthpice they trot out to the podium at any military base available. This re-opened investigation is GREAT! They should get in touch with Josh Marshall…
December 5th, 2005 at 8:41 amWhy not investigate allthe 4598435098 words that Bush and friends said? They are all lies.
December 5th, 2005 at 8:47 amYeah, I’ll believe that they’re REALLY investigating when I see some frogmarching. Until then, I’ll give it as much credence as Sen. Pat Roberts’ “investigation”.
December 5th, 2005 at 8:49 amask wwallass, he has all of the answers. He will tell you that there has been no lying… never ever has been… never ever will be. Georgy Bushki always tells the truth. Just listen to what he says and believe. It’s that simple.
Another Christmas with American troops is some far off land defending freedom at home. You are safe and sound in zie Vaterland.
Hip hip hooray. Merry Christmas harumph
December 5th, 2005 at 9:04 amHey, why not let the foxes run through the hen house one more time? If for nothing else, we’ll get to see a few more ruffled feathers and a whole lot of biting among the pack. Nothing rings more morally corrupt to me right now than the neocon phrase, “preemptive strike.” -Kevo
December 5th, 2005 at 9:17 amWhy should we trust that anything is going to be revealed with an FBI investigation? The Senate investigation by Pat Roberts has stonewalled into a standstill despite the hoopla in the Senate of a few weeks ago. The warnings delivered by the 9/11 commission have not led to any greater safety for the country — very little has been accomplished; in fact, now we can carry small knives and scissors on the plane (WTF?). Nothing, nothing will come to light under this administration, and I don’t even hold out much hope for after we run the lot of them out of office either — there are too many people in high places involved in this, too many egos, too much animosity between departments and personnel, too many politicians posturing. All of this is disgusting to me; I grew up with a better view of my country and that vision has been destroyed. Cynicism is the word.

December 5th, 2005 at 9:42 amlet me reemphasize that.

Now that Italy has issued arrest warrants for 22 US agents, perhaps the FBI is more willing to involve SISMI in the generation of the forged documents. Even if it makes some trouble for the US administration, it will doubtless make more trouble for the Italians. Payback is a bitch.
December 5th, 2005 at 9:57 amFrankly, my dear, …
December 5th, 2005 at 10:28 amsounds as if you dont give a Damm?

December 5th, 2005 at 10:28 amYea, Paybacks a Bitch. Two wrongs = nothing in return.

December 5th, 2005 at 11:56 amThe glaring contradiction between the treatment of the “Rathergate” docs, and the “Yellowcake” docs has been amazing.
December 5th, 2005 at 3:51 pmIf you really think they’re going to go after the actual author and purveyor of the forgeries, Michael Ledeen, you’ve got another think coming.
