said today “he is unlikely to allow DeLay to be tried separately from his co-defendants or on only one of the two money laundering charges still pending against him.” Will Congress ever reconvene?
somehow I see Delay as being as surly as Saddam.
Thinking he’s above the law as well.
Heck, I can actually see him damning everyone to Hell, as Saddam did.
Totally dillusional.
Susan, more than one Washington “expert” says that Delay is toast — it’s just a matter of how burnt, at this point. His declining power is one reason attributed to the growing disunion in the Republican party — couldn’t happen to a nicer guy, huh?
He should have to eat his leftover rat poison. Did you ever hear the theory that he, from his days as an expert in exterminating varmints, had know-how and/or connections to anthrax?
They are about to ditch him like Trent Lott. Republicans have no honor. The Hammer is a goner, no doubt. I just wonder why it is taking so long for the GOP to turn on him. Like Lott, it took about 5 minutes and Frist made him history. I can’t figure it out though. Maybe he just has too much dirt on his buds or maybe the GOP just depends on him being the “bad cop” among them.
Delay could always redistrict or pull some other scam to get elected so he never needed to worry about how he appeared. 2008 is near and they need to scramble. They all look like rich bullies who don’t play by the rules.
Maybe in early 2007 when the majority party changes?
December 8th, 2005 at 5:15 pmHopefully not until 2007. Except for confirming scary judges, there’s not much harm that can be done to the law w/o the lower house of Congress.
December 8th, 2005 at 5:21 pmThats a good point. Take the year off.
December 8th, 2005 at 5:36 pmThey don’t get sh*t done anyway.
Actually, I hope not. I’ll wait till the ‘06 elections.
December 8th, 2005 at 5:43 pmI wonder if he’ll smile after being found guilty.
December 8th, 2005 at 6:45 pmMaybe they’ll televise the trial.

It will be fun to watch him sweat and sqirm at the trial.
December 8th, 2005 at 7:22 pmIt spite of the texas gop there is justice in the old republic of Tejas .
The rumors I’ve heard is that if Delay doesn’t resolve this thing by the end of January his pug traitors are bailing on him.

That could be amusing.
December 9th, 2005 at 9:31 amImagine if the USAPAT sunset provisions expire because of it!

December 9th, 2005 at 10:03 amP&P, we need a felony conviction so Delay is no longer able to run for office.
Any felony conviction will do!
