All this Holiday vs. Christmas BS is just that — BS, by the religious right wing nuts and their friends in the media to throw up a distraction from the more serious matters of the day and conjure up another pejorative to hurl at the Democrats.
Since when is Christmas a “national holiday”? As a Christian, I’m offended that these wingnuts are acting like they’re the mainstream of my religion. Morons.
You have to remember that the “War on Christmas” is merely a campaign by certain conservatives to rally their base and portray liberals and progressives as non-religeous athiests. If any of them ever actually picked up a Bible and read it, they’d soon understand that we’re all God’s children and we’re supposed to forgive, not condemn.
The Right Wing Riech Is purposely causing a spin of anything they can to distract the world from the obvious truth. the truth being the War was for Oil, and it Is Illegal. This is the Worst Thievery in the World.
I don’t really know much about Leiberman other than what was publicizied during the ‘00 election. Being from Texas I don’t about his record. Since the ‘04 election I have read about his conservative leanings, but it wasn’t until lately that I noticed the focus on his pro-war stance. Maybe he just doesn’t want to get that flip-flopper label but It just seems at every turn he has been siding with the GOP on everything else besides the war, just like Zel (but not as loudly & proudly). I thought is was so odd especially since he was Gore’s running mate. When I heard this rumor I said, “figures.” But maybe this is a way for us to expose the truth about the administration’s handling of the war and their lead up to it. Could he be a plant? After all Bush did listen to Reid about Harriet. Maybe this is a sneaky Democrat strategy (Bwaahaha). And maybe not.
If you have any doubts about whether Joe Lieberman is a republican turncoat, just watch this video of George W Bush kissing Lieberman. Warning, very graphical images may turn your stomach.
Why do George W and his borther Jeb hate little baby Jeebus? Aren’t they born again, Bible thumping, evangelical Christians? Then why the hate of the Christian religion?
Aren’t a lot of old folks who are retiring in Florida Jews who moved from New York? Seems to be who I run into whenever I go down there. Then again, I spend my time in Boca Raton, hehe.
It’s clear they ARE the antichrist! They are God haters an idolaters that have used our Christ to further their Satanic agenda. Cleanse the temples! Repent! Forsake the devil! Reject the Bushes and their false gods of money and power! Repent!

I think a kiss was involved in the Judas story of the Bible. Except that would mean that one of them in the photo is Christ — eeewww! Then again one of them THINKS he is Christ, and the other one has betrayed his constituency.
Please don’t point out their hypocrisy. If they take it to heart and actually switch everything to ONLY Christian holiday recognition then we are the cause of neo-con empowerment. Don’t poke at the wolverines no matter how fun it is. I don’t think we’ll like when their attacks actually do real damage.
I fear the day when people cave into all of James Dobson’s requests.
Well, I’m getting ready to launch the liberal “War Against Easter”. Unfortunately, I’m having a great deal of difficulty finding all that much in the secular realm that actively promotes the Easter Holiday. I mean, sure the stores (mostly grocery stores) have the Easter candy and Easter Basket displays not to mention the egg-dyes, and there are *some* department stores which advertise “Easter clothes” (mostly to women and little girls–not many guys, big or small, get all that excited over a new “Easter suit”), but there’s really just not all that much to battle.
Where are all the TV “Easter” episodes? Heck, for that matter, where are all the classic Easter cartoons? (Oh, wait a minute. There never were that many, and most detailing the history of the Easter Bunny/Peter Cottontail.) We do get the annual showing of The Ten Commandments, complete with that great thespian, Charlton Heston, in his stunning portrayal of the great Easter figure, Moses. But, aside from that, the networks just don’t do much for Easter so if anyone can suggest where I can start my secular war against Easter, I’d greatly appreciate it. (You know, we libs gotta do our best to give O’Reilly and the rest of the Foxnuts something to bluster about.)
On a more serious note, I just wish these faux-Christians (including that self-described “not-a-practicing Christian” John Gibson) who constantly rail against this alleged War on Christmas would get their butts back into the Christian denominational church of their choice and realize that the REAL Christian holiday is Easter–not Christmas. After all, it wasn’t Christ’s birth that gave rise to Christianity (let’s face it–everybody is born) but His Death and Resurrection (not everybody makes post-mortem appearances to speak to disciples) and it’s the latter that must be accepted by Christians for them to BE Christians.
[...] Interestingly enough, as Think Progress has pointed out, both President Bush and Governor Jeb Bush of Florida sent out their holiday cards this year completely devoid of “Merry Christmas”. No word from Fox yet on whether they believe the Bush brothers are active members of the “liberal plot to ban the sacred Christian Holiday” or if it’s just that the liberals have infiltrated their administrations and are now working from the inside. Scary stuff. [...]
Great–and then the Dems get blamed for the mess in Iraq. And we disown the traitor, Lieberman
