December 9th, 2005 at 9:29 amI just got back from Germany. I visited Dachau and saw the museum. I saw the documentation of the rise of the Nazi’s to power and it was not left wing ideology. It was hard right extremism, cutailing of civil liberties and the imprisoning of dissenters. Dachau was first created to hold political prisoners and later expanded to hold anyone else the Nazis didn’t like.

If there had been gas chambers and six million jews died then why would Zundel have been held without charges in the U.S. and Canada. In todays world when a person is denied a trial, it is because the governement is trying to coverup a lie. For example, deny Jose Padilla a trial to coverup his role in the OKC bombing (John Doe #2). They use secret trials and claim national defense to deny fair trials. The last thing they want are the facts to be made public in a proper trial. In the ‘trial’ of Ernst Zundel this is also the case. The ‘judge’ in the case, Dr. Meinerzhagen , made it clear that Zundel’s lawyer would be held on criminal charges for bringing up any arguments to defend Ernst Zundel. The last thing the judge wants is for facts on the holocaust to be put into court transcripts. It is very similar to the ‘judge’ that tried Irwin Schiff on tax evasion. That ‘judge’, Kent J. Dawson, would not allow Irwin Schiff to bring up any laws in the courtroom. (Irwin Schiff is possibly the foremost authority on the internal revenue code in the country). In both cases, these judicial scum are trying to cover up a lie by convicting principled men of character who stand by what they believe in. No Virginia, there were no gas chambers and there is no law that requires Americans to pay income tax.

WWII started when Hitler invaded Poland with a preemptive strike. It was actually a series of events but history chose that event to mark the beginning. I doubt that Germany or the rest of Europe had any inkling that they were in WWII. Not until much later that is. Many times people caught up in historical events fail to see the significance at the time and only do so when public attention focuses on them in retrospect. WWII and the war in Iraq were probably started by the same illuminati group that put Bush in power and have visions of a one world government.
The American Imperialist forces invaded Iraq primarily through their staging area in Kuwait in the southern portion of Iraq, near Basrah. They had planned a northern invasion but Turkey’s Parliament voted against allowing American troops to use their country.
As you may recall, Russia had billions of dollars of oil agreements with Iraq and with the invasion those agreements may become void. Russia has also indicated that it will not allow further imperialist drives to take place in that region.
The U.S. has been sending Israel bunker busting bombs and has given the green light for an Israeli pre-emptive strike on Iran. If Israel does strike Iran or Syria, nuclear retaliation could result. Would this be the beginning of WWIII or just the escalation of the war that has already begun.

The right tends to motivate it’s people primarily by anger and fear. Good examples of this are Fox News, bushco, reichtwing christian preachers and Adolf Hitler.

The right seems to see everything in terms of black and white. Good examples are Bill O’Liely, bushco, reichtwing preachers of all persuasions, and Adolf Hitler.

The right gets it’s juices flowing hard by hearing about the deprevity of others (they ignore their own deprevity, as they think they are God’s chosen people). Good examples are Bill O’Liely, Rush Oxycotin, bushco, reichtwing preachers of all persuasions and Adolf Hitler.
The left gets it’s juices flowing over the inability of others to see and act out their point of view. This is true especially where the concerns are environmental, social and elitist greed. Good example are the Democratic Party (some of the time), the People for the American Way (god bless Norman Lear), DKos, TP and yours truely.
The right is exemplified by RedStain, Lil Green Foozballs, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Bill O’Liely and Adolf Hitler.
The left is exemplified by TP (GO TEAM!), DKos, MyDD, HuffPo (sometimes more than others), Jon Stewarts the Daily Show (love that guy), and Tip O’Neil (rest in peace big guy).
So….it seems to me that Adolf would have run any one of the progressive people or sites off to Auschwitz as a threat to the Third Reicht. The right, well they would have cracked a beer and applauded (except Rush who would have downed a couple extra Oxy’s to celebrate).

I do admit, some people advance the idea that the political spectrum is not linear, pitting communism (uber-left wing) and fascism or nazism (uber-right wing) completely at opposite ends, but rather it is more of a horseshoe in which the ends are much closer than they appear.
In any light, he still, once again, got the facts wrong.
However, I do agree that people should not shout others down, like O’Reilly does (Glick comes to mind). University of Connecticut students really had an opportunity to stick it to Ann Coulter by engaging her in debate but squandered the chance. But I do agree with the thrust of their argument. If we wait for what Bush determines victory is, we will be there for EVER. There is always something that he can say, well we did not make victory yet. #88 – Nice try, but that’s not the way civil settlements work. Aside from the fact that civil actions (what the the above lawsuit was) are independent of criminal suits, civil actions are usually settled with the agreement that the defendant (in this case, Mr. O’Reilly) admits no wrongdoing or liability. Secondly, I find it quite difficult to believe that a lawsuit that is settled with no admission of liability would require a defendant (who, to my knowledge, was never charged criminally) to give up his liberty by registering as a sex offender. If I’m wrong, by all means, please cite the applicable statute.

Unfortunately “As part of the settlement, both parties stated publicly that no wrong had been done by O’Reilly or Mackris, and that the terms of the settlement would remain private.” according to Wikipedia
so we may never know. There doesn’t need to be a statute for the settlement. Essentially a settlement is a contract between two parties, approved by the court that terminates the legal action. Settlements are usually “without prejudice” so nobody admits to guilt, the legal actions stop and both sides feel that they did the right thing. I know that not all contracts are legal, but if both sides agreed to a settlement that Bill O’Reilly registered as a sex offender then he would be legally bound by that. Once both sides have agreed to settle then the agreement has to be approved by the Judge. So, it’s not impossible that the agreement required registration, but it seems unlikely.
One comment that is mentioned on the same wikipedia page is “One consequence of the settlement is that O’Reilly must have a “minder”, or third party, in person when he is being interviewed in person or on the telephone.”

Thanks for the Wikipedia link. You are correct about the nature of settlements, in that they do not require a statute, and that they are contracts, essentially, which may or may not be legal.
One thing I’m still curious about, however, is how anyone would even know whether O’Reilly was required to register as a sex offender, if the settlement terms were to remain private? I guess I find that settlement term a bit suspect, especially since neither party admitted to any wrongdoing. If I were O’Reilly’s attorney, I would absolutely never advise him to agree to such a concession or restriction of liberty. That would, I would think, almost certainly qualify the settlement as an unconscionable contract, thereby making it void.

Given that Sex Offenders have to register then the easiest way to find out is to find out if Bill O’Reilly is a registered sex offender. That wouldn’t breach the settlement agreement, although it wouldn’t prove that he was registered because of the settlement. A brief search on the national sex offenders registry does not show any b or w o’reilly or oreilly registered anywhere nationally. While I would have liked this story to be true, it does not appear to be. The fact that his registration is not being trumpeted to the skies is enough on its own to cast doubt on it. Someone would surely have dug the official registration out by now if it had been true.
However, just because O’Reilly isn’t a registered sex offender doesn’t make him any less reprehensible.
