The caucus “asked for a meeting with Alito last month but never got a response. … ‘We never heard back from anyone in Alito’s office,’” said CBC spokeswoman Myra Dandridge.
Maybe a crash course in Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People might be in order. Then again, Republicans think they don’t owe anyone anything, not even a polite reply of “no, thank you.”
That’s what many are realizing now — albeit, a little late — that when the Repubs are holding all the cards, they never deal you in — they don’t even see you. Alito is one of them.
They would sell the gold from their mothers teeth, and never blink an eye.

“It is said about the US president that before 9-11 he thought that the Taliban was a Bavarian brass band. Now the president of the world’s most powerful nation has put his foot in his mouth yet again. It was Condoleezza Rice, his national security advisor who had to rescue the situation. When talking with Brazilian president Fernando Henrique Cardoso, 71, Bush surprisingly asked: “Do you have Blacks too?” Ms. Rice noticed how stunned and surprised Cardoso looked and quickly told Bush that Brazil likely has more blacks than the US and that outside of Africa it was the place with the highest number of blacks. The Brazilian president remarked later that Bush was “still in a learning-phase” when it came to South America.”
Scalito, whatsamattayou? You afraid of a few of us brothers and sisters? Don’t worry, we don’t bite. Of course, we may kick your ass if you don’t have the balls to meet with the CBC.
hey, Aj – according to snopes, that story’s authenticity is “undetermined”…
just a reminder to keep it all factual…though it sounds likely for W, i know…
“…This item originated with an article entitled “An Overwhelming Ignorance” published in the Brazilian newspaper Estado de Sao Paulo on 28 April 2002…
Is it true? Bush and Cardoso did meet in the Oval Office back in November 2001 to discuss terrorism-related issues (a meeting that was attended by national security advisor Condoleezza Rice), and they held a trade meeting at the White House on 30 March 2001. But this single-source item is woefully short of specifics, such as which meeting this quote supposedly came from, in what context Bush posed his question, or who reported what Bush purportedly asked…
Considering that this news wasn’t reported until five to thirteen months after the event, we have to wonder whether the person reporting it was actually present for the occasion… As it turns out, the Estado de Sao Paulo article was authored by Fernando Pedreira, and as the Washington Post noted:
Pedreira is very close to Cardoso, who had named him the country’s ambassador to UNESCO. Meanwhile, Cardoso is said to have mentioned his chats with Bush while he was on a weekend with some close friends recently in Rio…
This items sounds like, at best, a second-hand account recounted months after the fact…
So, what this issues boils down to is a non-specific, single-source item, one which the Washington Post has the White House dismissing as “total crap.” Lacking anything more to go by, we have to leave this one in the “undetermined” column.
After overturning Roe v. Wade and rebuking women’s suffrage, Alito intends to return all black people to chains. Why bother to meet with them in that case?
Hey, the more Alito can do to prevent his confirmation works for me.
