who told Karl Rove about Valerie Plame’s secret identity. “I’m confident the president knows who the source is…So I say, ‘Don’t bug me. Don’t bug Bob Woodward. Bug the president as to whether he should reveal who the source is.’”
No, I think we should be bugging Bob Novak since he was the one who printed her name in a failed effort to discredit her husband. There was nothing noble about what Novak did. There was no great truth uncovered on behalf of the people. There was no whistleblower trying to warn the public about a great danger. The revelation didn’t save anyone’s life and may, in fact, helped to end some, but we’ll never know.
What Bob Novak did was nothing but pure partisan political gamesmanship and he should never have been told what he was told. It is Novak who owes us an explanation, not the president (who wouldn’t give an honest one anyway.)
I hope Bob Novak is feeling very lonely these days what with CNN not letting him back on the air. I imagine he sits around his dining room table with cardboard cutouts of Paul Begala and James Carville and one of his conservative friends (who won’t show up in person), and he shouts out derogatory things about liberals to them and smiles because they can’t come back with a response.
I agree completely with the three above comments. I cant stand Novak, but he is not exactly a fool. He knows the preznit knows it was Rove, and he knows that the preznit is protecting Rove.
The shrub is more than knee deep in this shit, he is up to his ass, and sinking slowly.
Well, Novak, we bug you because when we ask the WH, they say “we cannot comment on an ongoing investigation” because they are all potential targets.
You are obviously not a target of the investigation since you squealed like a stuck pig to the grand jury. Now you’re just trying to save what’s left of your credibility and, by extension, your job.
whataboutbob??? petulant and persistant whining bob novak is obviously needing some attention!!! he’s been so sad that viveca has robbed him of his name, that he wants back in to the limelight, so he decided to speak tantalizing us with his in-group tidbit!!!
President Bush can’t know. McClellan told the American public when Plame was first “outed” as an undercover operative that the White House would look into it and fire anyone who was involved. Bush also personally said he’d “take appropriate action” in such a case. Bush hasn’t fired a single person. So obviously no one President Bush works with closely was involved.
BTW, many people have been “bugging” the president on this… spokesman McClellan’s only answer to any question involving the Plame Affair is that he won’t discuss an “ongoing” investigation…
Where are the trolls? Are they not going to accuse Novak of lying about Dumbya? Are they not going to call him unpatriotic? Is Bob Novak still a “real american” or has he committed a treasonous act here? C’mon guys….no anger and venom for good old Novak?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. trade deficit widened unexpectedly in October to a record $68.9 billion despite a drop in the cost of imported oil, as the deficits with China, Canada, the European Union, Mexico and OPEC all hit records, government data showed Wednesday.
Of course he knows, We’ve known that all along. Novak is still an idiot, and in the real reality of things, somehow Bush is going to avert any trouble in this. Both he and Rove are going to get out of this.
I can’t see how Bush wouldn’t know unless someone early on realized that this was going to get hot and decided to protect him by essentially telling him not to ask — you know, plausible deniability. If that’s the case, he lied about wanting to get to the bottom of the affair. Of course, lying is no big deal and appears to carry no consequence.
Whoa, this just in: Breaking News (CNN): President Bush today accepted responsibility for decision to go to war against Iraq based on faulty intelligence.
Misdirection from Novak? Notice his emphasis on how he’d be shocked if the President didn’t know? That is meant to convey that Bush himself was not the source. It’s entirely reasonable to suspect that a high official might leak without the President’s knowledge, and then without ever telling the President afterwards for fear of self incrimination. So I wouldn’t be shocked, even though it is reasonable to conclude that with the proper application of authority, the leaker would be easy to discover. Was Bush a source?
But Theresa, Read the FINE Line.
based on faulty intelligence.
Bush Lied, again!
Hes gonna Weasel out with that statement.
Bush KNEW! Bush IS LYING!
FAULTY INTELL???? Give me a BREAK!
Classic government behavior. These guys push the limit as far as they can, then when they realize people are getting angry in vast numbers, they give concessions to calm down the angry masses.
It’s just another reason, in his long list of reasons, for the Iraq debacle. I was thinking more along the lines that this is his what, second admission, of responsiblity (to drive up his polls). But, for the life of me, I can’t remember what the first was… God, I hate these senior moments. Oh, the first was taking responsibility for the fed’s slow response to Katrina.
What are all the remote-conTROLLed voiceboxes going to say now that Bush admitted the war was a mistake?
Well, Its not Bushes Fault, Its Intells Fault.
Thats what they are going to say.
Theresa , Sure He says He takes Responsibility, But, Notice He is Pointing His Finger at Others While Taking Responsibility.
I.E. Hurricane Katrine. He Takes FULL Responsibility at FEMAS Failures.
Just like. He Takes Responsibility For the WAR, AT Intells Failures.
Notice the finger pointing?
Oh, Its NOT BUSHES FAULT???
Give me a Break, PLEASE!
Oh, HORSESHIT! Bush will NEVER take true responsibility for anything. Taking responsibility means having to suffer the consequences. He’s never had to do either during his priviliged life up to this point so why should anything change now?
Again I watched as the prezit made a foot of himself. Took full reposonibility of going to war over faulty intelligenced. Said the same old things, said in different ways, “when the Iraqis stand up, we will stand down”.
Now, the preznit did not listen to intelligence before 911 and he is not reading intelligence now, his intelligence in intelligence matters somehow lacks intelligence.
The same old argument. Using a disproved piece of intelligence, the letter to Zarqawi, to say that we are fighting the terrist in Iraq so we dont have to fight them at home. Why do you know that the terrist are poised at our shores to attack us if we pull out of Iraq?
What a smart man he is, but somehow, I think his intelligence is lacking intelligence. He should read My Pet Goat again.
I Fell sorry for the Intell. They ARE Going to Take alot of Heat. Unless of course, Bushie is taking good care NOT to let that happen. If I were Intell, I would Turn Against Bush in a Heartbeat.

What a BOLD stance to take Herr Chimpster.
Now he is responsible for the war. NO SHIT CAPTAIN MORGAN. You are the PRESIDENT. You made the decision assclown. Were people under the impression the last 5 years that Jeff Gannon decided to invade Iraq.
Again, by simply stating the obvious we are supposed to be in awe of a responsible George W. Bush. He tit-head, you are the BOSS, the BIG KAHUNA, the CHEESE THAT STANDS ALONE. This is the ownerships society and you own 2,150 dead Americans in Iraq.
I don’t think TP believes the CIA leak story is anything more than a marginal benefit to propagating a progressive agenda. They’re probably right. There are better places to go for Rove/CIA stories anyway.
TP runs Plamegate stories all the time, in big bright colored boxes with pictures and links. Maybe they aren’t giving this one a lot of credit because it is hearsay on the part of Novak.
The conversatives get praised on the news same as Jesus gets praised in church. You wouldn’t expect your preacher to start praising the competition, would you? Equally, we don’t expect the conservative television networks to air anything but propaganda for the right.
Read the international and independent online news for some contrast. Then get back to us.
And clearly, aside from the lobotomy you received last year, you should ask for a refresher course in third grade grammar and writing for Xmas this year.
You have nothing to make defense for Klintoon doing nothing but talk about the threat from, Sodamn Insane, so you have to attacked the poster that tells the truth.
If Klinton wasnt getting oral service on the job he would of took out Sodamn Insane before he attacked us on 9-11.
President Bush cant clean up all of Klintons mess in jest 5 years.
Do I really have to post all the quotes from Klintoon, Hitlery, Al Bore, Liebermann, Sen. KKK Byrd and all the other do-nothing dumocretins that said Sodamn Insane was a threat to America?
President Bush tooked care of that threat and now all youse people want to do is blame him for going to war. If Klintoon hadnt weekened our military by under cutting its budget we would of already won this war on terror.
All you dumocretins are doing by questionning our heroick President Bush is giving the enemy something to fight for.
Your posting contained no facts to argue. It was merely an insult. I was simply following your lead. Besides, If you can’t understand basic grammar and sentance structure, how can I expect you to understand anything reasonable I could post in response?
Saddam Hussein did not attack us – Osama Bin Laden did. Osama is not Iraqi, he is Saudi Arabian and he was acting on behalf of Al Quaeda. Frankly, we’re tied of having to repeatedly educate you NeoCons on this fact. Go learn how to read and then read the facts.
Our country was founded on the Right of Freedom of Speech. We can say anything we want about Bush. Have you ever read the Constitution of the United Staes and the Bill of Rights? Do you even know what they are?
It would be nice if people could remember that when President Clinton took office, the Congress was in the midst of taking advantage of the “peace dividend” that the collapse of the Soviet Union brought us. This meant that we no longer needed to spend as much as we were on defense. This feeling was very bipartisan, so neither party can be blamed for it.
Yeah, it would be nice if people remembered that. I suppose if they put down the beer and opened a book or two, and read it, they might learn something.
We spend $360 billion a year on defense. Number Two on that list spends $52 million. Yet our education system has dropped from #1 to #7 in the world (Canada is #1, interestingly enough), we’re the only industrialize nation without national healthcare, and Hugo Chavez had to assist Massachussetts residents with heating oil discounts while their Representatives were too busy cutting necessary assistance to the poor – like food stamps and medicare. Yet there are countries (Sweden, Germany, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Canada etc.) with a higher standard of living than we have who don’t need to spend billions on a national defense because they aren’t playing schoolyard bully. We owe our gratitude for our current defense needs to the Republican majority who took over in 1994. Nothing bipartisan there…
#60, I never claimed to be a english major or a grammer teacher. So I make a few spelling mistakes, big deal. Does it mean everybuddy has to attack me and noone listens to my arguements around here? I don’t see youse people making any valid arguements against President Bush’s policy. All I see is alot of whining because he is being a strong leader. In September 2004 your boy John Kerry said he would have attacked Iraq when Bush did to, so its hard for youse people to say President Bush was wrong doing it.
I suggest you dumocretins stop all the crying because Bush is going to be in charge for another 3 years and youse people have no ideas to offer. Get out of the way and let Bush defeat the terrorists insted of helping them by attacking our president.
Of course he knows. That’s why no one has been fired. Junior is knee deep in shit.
December 14th, 2005 at 10:10 amFor once I agree with a statement made by Robert Novak.

December 14th, 2005 at 10:56 amWhether he knows or not, oodles and oodles of innocent people have died.
Somebody has a propensity towards using military strength instead of diplomatic means, along with plenty of subterfuge for purposes of obfuscation.
A check to each Iraqi citizen for the amount of 100,000 dollars would have won a lot of hearts and minds.
100 000 times 24 000 000 citizens equals 2 400 000 000 000; 2.4 trillion dollars would have been a bargain.
Bush sells the war all of the time. It’s his mission.
Hardly an accomplishment. You’re not getting your money’s worth. In fact, you’re getting much less for your money. How’d that happen?
It ain’t good, it’s all bad. Dragging Bob Novak into it all is a nice red herring.

December 14th, 2005 at 4:17 pmWilliam A Fultz,
Very few times before have I seen so many grammatical and spelling errors concentrated in such few sentences.
Your posts are obviously a joke, you are being sarcastic, and are making fun of Bush supporters, right?

Man, I hope you’re right. Scary though otherwise…
Wait – wasn’t William Fultz one of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre guys???

Nothing bipartisan there…
December 14th, 2005 at 5:51 pm#60, I never claimed to be a english major or a grammer teacher.
