This Saturday Morning, George Bush appeared on national television with the usual bullying baloney of I AM THE KING, I MAKE THE LAWS AND THE HELL WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, THE CONSTITUTION AND DEMOCRACY! At this point in time, impeachment is just a dream. what isn’t a dream is that if this outrageous action can be kept in the news, the stink will definitely stop the gop in its tracks. Now, this will only happen if the press keeps the pressure on so I guess that it probably won’t happen. And that is tragic because if one is willing to dig a bit, this action not only disgraces this country once again but definitely affected the 04 election!

The article â€œHouse votes to renew Patriot Actâ€ by Sheryl Gay Stolberg stunned the nation’s control freaks that the Patriot Act must be further scrutinize for its lack of judicial oversight and safeguards against abuse. The word â€œinsurgencyâ€ which President Bush least appreciates had occurred in the House, demanding to renew his anti-terrorism law. The House became aware that this law has given the Justice Department authorization to investigate American citizens without judicial oversight; to allow government to search individuals’ private property without notifying them; to allow authorities to search citizens’ financial, medical, library, and school records without judicial oversight. Many Americans wants to remain independent of Big Brother’s watchful gaze and want to make sure that the Defense Dept. wonâ€™t expanded their intelligence programs, creating new agencies, and adding more “legal” authority for domestic security activities in this trumped up post-9/11 world. The Pentagon once promised Congress that after the Vietnam War it wonâ€™t spy on Americans without notifying Congress. Under the Bush administration that promise got broken real fast and easy.

Nothing will come out of this scandal. The House Republicans will continue to blindly support Bush and prevent any attempt from House Democrats to impeach him. The Senate Republicans will block any attempt by Senate Democrats to censure Bush. The lapdog Washington press corps will eventually forget about it and move on to another news that really excite the unwashed like the Cultural War on Christmas.

Ravio does have a point. The Democrats would be lucky to win 5 seats from the Republicans next year much less 67 seats. Impeachment will go nowhere because the Republicans are not going to vote for it ever.

The Republicans did this to Clinton and it accomplished nothing except give into the wimps of a few partisan extremist and I hope the Democrats don’t do the same.

I just heard Bubble boy neither deny or confirm, he only states that no laws were broken. (My ABC local news)

He also said it is his job to protect us.

Will somebody please remind Bubble boy that it is his job to protect the U.S. Constitution.

And also remind him that under the Constitution, he did break the law.

Well, this certainly makes me think that we’re on the up and up here. White House Counsel thinks Dumbya is the most brilliant man she’s ever met and the pro-torture AG thinks the Constitution is an outdated document.

I agree Marie. Bubble boy also admits that he would have attacked and removed Hussein had he known there were no WMD’s. Attacking and occupying a soviergn nation for the sole purpose of removing its leader is also a crime.
