NSA agents ‘disturbed’:

“The image of N.S.A. has been muddied considerably by this revelation,” said Matthew M. Aid, an intelligence historian who is writing a multiple-volume history of the agency. Mr. Aid said several agency employees he spoke with on Friday were disturbed to learn of the special program, which was known to only a small number of officials. ‘All the N.S.A. people I’ve talked to think domestic surveillance is anathema,’ Mr. Aid said.”

Interesting take in the USAT. Article said that none of this could even go to court because it’s all so secretive. So, apparently, there’s this FISA law on the books, but no one can be prosecuted for breaking it b/c it’d require confidential intelligence to be publicized in court.

This floors me that Bush can simply say “sorry, everything I’ve done illegally is national security top-secret, so you’ll never get the evidence”. Incredible.

Sounds like in the 80s and Ollie North was up to his shenanigans. Most decent agents knew enough to stay far away from him and avoid knowledge of his operations. After Congress prohbited funding the Contras, he would ask other groups if he could use their secret bank accounts, they knew enough to say no.

#10, That was a personnal matter that was only brought to light through a Civil Court, which the Republicans later found out that Clinton lied and committed purgery.

I am not saying that I support that and I wanted to see him Impeached because of the purgery. However, this is completely a different beast. It’s like comparing a tonka toy crash with the Columbia shuttle explosion.

I have an issue with the NSA being upset. First, someone from faux news was throwing around a figure of 18,000 phone taps earlier in the week. Second, I’ll concede the point that you might not know about the BushCo secret plan but, Third, if you’rs a spooke and handed a phone number to tap, you can’t tell a foreign phone number from a domestic phone number? Fourth, if it is a domestic number and it is taboo to listen you are aware of the law, did you bring it to someone’s attention?

Pleding ignorance only goes so far, then you are as corrupt as everyone else involved.

Remember that the NYTimes did get the story somehow, which probably means that someone at the NSA did exactly what you are saying they didn’t do. The NYTimes has kept this information secret for almost 2 years now, and only because Risen’s book is coming out in January, and they were going to get ’scooped’ by their own reported did they release the story.

Be of good cheer. The reason we’ve learned about the Bushite scandals (everything from no-bid contracts to the surveillance inside the USA) is because of “insiders” who despise these criminal facists. career civil servants from the State Dept. to the CIA to the NSA are quitting and ratting these ratbastards out every chance they get.

There are American patriots throughout sensitive governmental positions, and they’re going to help bring this scum down!
